The best version of Blackened (that I know) is from their Seattle show in 1989 - you should definitely watch it. The original album version was not mixed properly (long story) but this live version does it "justice".

This song is about nuclear holocaust, the time when this album came out was during the cold war so nearly everybody thought that the world is gonna end in a nuclear winter.

My son (13) has a group of friends that bond because of the music the their dads have introduced to them. Hopefully this will inspire the next generation to care more about music they put out with feeling and passion. It has an inverted pick up accidentally installed but the sound wasn’t out of phase and produced a unique beautiful sound. Its also one of the most expensive in the world and he’s sharing it with us
I loved the fact that your mom didnot even show affinity to stop you from listening to this kind of genre, like many oldminded people do. Even after 30+ years I can't even make all of my friends believe this genre is good. More power to her!
If you want to see a completely different side of Metallica you should listen to Mama Said, Until It Sleeps, Bleeding Me, and FiXXXer. Those are all from their mid 90's Load and Reload albums. Also you should check out The Unforgiven 1, 2 and 3, Orion, The Call of Ktulu and To Live is to Die.

I love this and I wanted to thank everyone for commenting and joining me on my channel. My mum helps me with my comments and they take a long time. Great reaction! Blackened is about nuclear war and its nuclear winter aftermath - this was written close to the height of the Cold War where nuclear war was a legit concern and huge fear for some. And btw I think they did a great job changing it up in their quarantine version.
