at this point comments like this are hillarious. anytime there is a new video of Metallica performing somebody writes "James sounds better than he has in years" and his voice is pretty much the same for over 10 years now. he has good and bad days. thats it.
The day I heard this I couldn't remove smile from my face...I was genuinely surprised...I would also love to hear more songs done with acoustics...King Nothing comes to mind..
"I wonder if they're gonna do more of this" - I would ABSOLUTELY buy an album's worth of reworked tracks in this style. Don't get me wrong, I think they've got more more monster album in them, but this makes for an awesome change of pace.
I've been watching the song non-stop for the last three days... Today I'm starting the reaction series ... I can't seem to get enough 🤘🤘🤘🖤🖤🖤🖤 this version of the song is sooooooooo good spiritually
Sometimes a straight up acoustic version of a metal song works, and sometimes not. This kind of reminds me of Godsmack's acoustic rendition of "Awake," which they called "Asleep."
I wish they could play many underrated songs in that version. Blackened is a perfect preference now and can’t wait to listen to some songs that we weren’t lucky to see being played live.
My guess is they had planned to play this version at the AWMH concert originally planned for last March, then decided to do this after the tour plans got upended, first by James's recovery commitments then the pandemic.
I really like those acoustic stuff they make, and this is not an exception, sounds great to me.I would like more of this stuff in the future or even a record. Also i would like to see from them ''Load feeling'' stuff, load is very special for me.
I loved this new take on Blackened! I remember when I saw them on the Poor Re-Touring Me tour, they had a spot during the show where they played a few songs acoustically, including a really cool version of Four Horsemen. This definitely reminded me of that. I still think they've got one more solid album of original music left in them(I wouldn't bet on two more, though), but I would ABSOLUTELY buy an album of them playing existing Metallica tracks in this musical style, sort of an unplugged Garage Inc. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
There's a good interview with Lars and Marc Benioff of Salesforce where he makes some interesting comments you could check out regarding things upcoming.
I thought it was very cool for them to do this... I prefer the speed and aggressiveness of the original, but this is a nice "outlaw highway" rendition of it. And hey, these days it is nice to see new material from ANYONE or ANYWHERE because we sure as hell can't go see a live show anywhere in the world right now (except maybe Antarctica, but they've already been there).
I think some people are used to it being fast and aggressive so they would not accept a slow accostic version and that's fine they are entitled to their opinion
D C just to help you out dude, im referring to the professional sounding mixing editing of audio video splicing, from four different locations is what i meant.. not just playing acoustic versions. I referenced Sammy Hagars team and thought they did a great job at it. And they didn’t do acoustic. And fyi i have all the Metallica acoustic versions from first ones they did (fade to black, four horsemen acoustic versions , 3 Bridge Benefit concerts from 2007 to recent ones, so its common knowledge Metallica is very good at acoustic.
Solitude & Sorrow that’s what i like about them. They’re not afraid of change and they take it seriously. I really want to hear and see more of that version.
Not impressed at all... James vocals are flat maybe not do vocals when everyone is asleep in the house... i expect more from a band with a 30 plus career... Robert is always “in the moment” 🤘🏼
Thought this was cool!
Chainsaw Reacts weirdly cool

Fixxer was done fully live once at a soundcheck but there's only clips of it exists sadly.
Here's the only footage of fixxer from 1995.

James's vocals sounded the best they have in ages on this
He needs to record an acoustic album.
@@CoolaBoola defiently id be so down for that 🤘

@@IASP17 Shut up, kid. Love you.
To be released on the upcoming album: UnLoad
And the cover art this time is a picture of even more cum than the original load album.
Blackened Mama (half Mama Said half Blackened)
And then the album after that: Overload
Is it me or Kirk was Jasoned in this version??
I just binge watched every single hardwired reaction
And Quarantine For All
The day I heard this I couldn't remove smile from my face...I was genuinely surprised...I would also love to hear more songs done with acoustics...King Nothing comes to mind..
finally a rendition of blackened where the bass is audble 😅 loved the rendition
Hah joke master
You must listen to “And Justice for Jason”
@@pablolecanda5588 I have, there are multiple versions, i love it, but its only available on youtube (AFAIK) which sucks when traveling
But they Jason Newsteded Kirk's guitar lmao
First phrygian solo by Kirk in 30 years
I like it, I hope he writes solos like that on the next album
Meme God yeah it sounded great
yeah feels like both het and kirk have been listening to early Tea Party albums
It sounds cool but the tone he used in itself was not suiting the rest of the track for me
Ecstatic they are still creating things. This new rendition was awesome! They gave us a new spin on a great song and I am thankful for that!
Lars mentioned before the quarantine they are working on the next album, guess it will be finished sooner :)

James looks healthy, in shape. And his voice sounds best in many years. Very inspirational.👍👍👍🤘🤘🤘😁😁😁
As soon as I watched this last night, I instantly hoped you would react to it! Hopefully we will get some form of album in this style
Best part of this is Kirk's Solo it's amazing !!
I wish they take this version to the stage on live performances :D Can't wait to see and hear it live :D
Metallica when you don’t want to disturb your neighbors
Sometimes a straight up acoustic version of a metal song works, and sometimes not. This kind of reminds me of Godsmack's acoustic rendition of "Awake," which they called "Asleep."
I love how James's aggressive right hand down picking works brilliantly with an acoustic guitar.
Hes alternate picking most of this 😂
@@metalpuppet5798 I meant his overall picking style, but yeah..
I wish they could play many underrated songs in that version. Blackened is a perfect preference now and can’t wait to listen to some songs that we weren’t lucky to see being played live.
They should do an album with the newer renditions of the songs. They have around 8 or so already. All within my hands is amazing
My guess is they had planned to play this version at the AWMH concert originally planned for last March, then decided to do this after the tour plans got upended, first by James's recovery commitments then the pandemic.
Lars is playing so simple yet still manages to look like he's in pain lol
Ismael Rivera I’m so confused with that, does he think he looks cool while doing that orr
@@mirkecWii Lol probably just a quirk. He's always been like that, and he's way cooler than any of us regardless :D
Cause hes into what he is playing
Has a Ghost like vibe. I love this shit.

YESSSSSSS. I have the same Metallica tshirt. cool thank you for making this video and welcome back.
This has to be on their next album
Whitened
I enjoyed this a lot too. I know this is kind of an unpopular opinion but I feel like James's vocals have gotten better and better over the years.
De vuelta....Fabulooossooo!!

Kirk’s solo makes me picture a fight going on in a DBZ movie lol 🤘🏼
KIRK GOT FUCKING JASONED IN THE MIX
There's a good interview with Lars and Marc Benioff of Salesforce where he makes some interesting comments you could check out regarding things upcoming.
Does Lars mention anything about touring Australia??
@@eth-zd4xq i don't remember specifically, look up the interview it's pretty interesting, they basically say, who knows what's gunna happen
@@MBx19v yeah alright, I'll give it a watch 👍🏻
It was something new .
Cool tshirt, I have 3!
They should come out an acoustic album of their songs. This is awesome🤘. My money on anything they come out with.
The solo was very Wherever I May Roam-ish
Kirk solo gives middle eastern vibes!! Is he using phrygain scale?
I think so
The solo feel is middle eastern indeed
Watch any of their AWMH charity shows. They do about 10-15 originals just like this
Lars has been practicing you can tell both and Kirk as well
All members are practicing
This sounds really, really good! Such a great version of Blackneded! I hope they to more of this!
Blackened, but you can hear bass guitar and Kirk isn't using WAH pedal for solo!!!
I don't know why but I feel like Kirk is not playing in this video, he's only playing solos like in the albums, but still awesome version of the song
I thought it was very cool for them to do this... I prefer the speed and aggressiveness of the original, but this is a nice "outlaw highway" rendition of it. It’s a Nirvana version of blackened
Cool mood of the song...but Kirk's solo rocks!!!!
the solo sounds bit like whenever i may roam
Great reaction buddy, keep it up
MTV "Virtually" Unplugged album please...

TheMACSrPOO Music very true. This version should’ve been recorded during Load and Reload era.
Blackned (dont know how many will get it)
Tuning room?

Hopefully they're starting to work on some kind of new material.
Just the greatest heavy metal band having fun in quarantine, what's wrong with that?

The people who say its shit are the same people that say Metallica sucks ass after Justice album and are sellouts. We just laugh and block them out
This is fuckin great and different i love it
im neutral, it's not bad but didnt wow me. I wouldve preferred they'd taken that arrangement and written a new song instead.
Sounds like a country song lol
People who think it is stupid are trolls who haven’t a clue how great they are to adapt their songs to the current world situation.
not used to this style of Metallica. its fukn epic though!
