    I recently got mine and I have been hooked ever since. 😁 I've also binge-watched your tutorials on the DD20 man.

    thanks man, great demo! i recently bought on of these beauties for $150 bucks used, and it quickly became my favorite pedal. I have a bunch of other delays; memory man, space echo, carbon copy deluxe dd-3, and this one is by far and away the most versatile! the combinations are virtually limitless.

    Its still my go to delay unit - top mounted jacks, 4 presets plus manual mode, analog dry thru, backlit display that can show bpm or ms, built in or external tap tempo, multiple stereo routing options, no weird power supply requirements and the darn thing can even run on batteries and has a headphone out. You can still find them for cheap on reverb.

    Got one of these used for £100. One of the best pedals I've ever bought! Easily worth it.

    I have it since 2004. Sounds great with Marshall JCM2000 Tsl 602. S. O.S, modulate, dual and tape are my favourite algos. Great demo!

    Great video!! I've had one of these on my pedalboard since they came out. A couple of tricks I used are to turn this into a chorus/vibrato (sort of) pedal using the 'modulation delay'. I think Todd mentions this in one of his other videos. My setting the delay to around 15ms and setting the rate and depth controls you can get some usable sounds. I used this for a bit when I scaled down to three pedals; budda wah -> Ibanez TS-9DX -> DD20 with programs set for slab back, medium one repeat, long multi-repeat, chorus, vibrato.

    • @LeonTodd
      @LeonTodd  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, it makes a KILLER chorus.

    Had this on my board for 2 years. Really liked it for its capability and the four presets.
    It's a great sounding pedal and built like a tank!
    The only drawback was its size for me and since i was only using the analog and tape modes i got a Carbon Copy instead.

    • @LeonTodd
      @LeonTodd  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Funny you mention the CC because that's the unit I got after this!

    Sick sounds man. My bandmate used to have one of these and I remember scoffing at it coz it was "just another Boss pedal". But it's definitely a modern classic in it's own right. Still seems to hold it's own these days

    I have had a DD-20 since 2007 and it is a nice unit. The only thing that's a bummer is that it can screw with your tone when in bypass mode. The plus side is that the search for a delay unit to solve the tone suck problem lead me to your channel by way of my interest in the Fractal FX8.

    Honestly, I've had this thing for maybe 13 years now and it is easily the only delay pedal I've ever wanted to use, other than my Quiet Theory Prelude.
    I also have a tape echo machine but this is such a fun, versatile, and reliable unit.. I'm never giving it up ever. It will go down as one of the greatest delays of all time.

  • @hoosierdaddy2308

    I have never tried one, but would love to. I thought you could have programmed delays? For different delays for different songs.
    It sounds great to me..
    We live in such a great time for gear. It's almost obscene 😂..
    Very cool video..
    I still want to see you do a review if the ADA mp1 pedal. I bet they sound great. I've not even seen one for sale except online though, and even then it's slim pickings. 😛
    Hope you're safe and well my friend. You and all your family, friends and subscribers as well..

      @hoosierdaddy2308 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LeonTodd Yes indeed.
      You should build a pedal board amp setup some time with a preamp like the ADA pedal, and a power amp, effects, and a cab. Would be cool to see what you come up with.

    Long ago, I was in the market for a dual delay. I kept looking at the Line 6 DL4 (that giant green pedal). Any idea how that compares to the Boss?

    • @LeonTodd
      @LeonTodd  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The DL4 Is one of the most important delays ever. Been trying to find one used for a while!

  • @wayney.387

    I have a question not about this video if that's cool, anyway can I use my axefx3 as an interface to record to my computer into a DAW or should I buy an interface. I was thinking of the Motu m4,it seems to have the least latency of all of the budget interfaces, any thoughts on it

    • @LeonTodd
      @LeonTodd  4 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @VladiGuitar87

    A dumb question: can I use the modulation only without any delays if I need? :) Or is the only blended delay effect modulated?

    • @LeonTodd
      @LeonTodd  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not a dumb question at all. Turn the delay time right down between 1 and 20ms and you have a wonderful sounding modulation effect. keep the feedback at 0 and it's a chorus, turn the feedback up and it's a Flanger!
