- A draft of the Blade reboot script has Blade playing fourth fiddle to 3 women. In his own movie. No wonder Mahershala Ali nearly quit.
Also, the director of The Marvels just FLED THE COUNTRY without finishing the film. I'm sure everything's fine, right?

The only reason Captain Marvel made any money is because it was marketed as essential viewing before Endgame.
It was not.
Disney also made sure that it was pretty much the only new movie being shown at the theatres. The theatres actually removed Alita, which was doing well at the time, and then showed all these old movies for their 20 or more years anniversary. These 2 factors, saying u needed to see it to understand endgame and making it the only new movie available, was only going to lead it to make the money it did.
Agreed. I actually think Captain Marvel conflicts with Endgame because her solo movie shows she's strong enough to take out an entire fleet of invading aliens by herself but then in Endgame she has an entire team backing her up and barely does anything. So in the first 2 movies she's seen in she already has an inconsistent power level by the largest margin I have ever seen.
I also hated her in her own movie because they changed her origin so it doesn't even make sense anymore.
Originally Mar-Vell was the first Captain Marvel, she got her powers from a blood transfusion from him. The movie changed Mar-Vell into a woman who never had that name, didn't have any powers, dies almost immediatly, and instead she gets her powers from Mar-Vell's ship exploding near her? Shouldn't that just kill her instead of giving her powers?
Anyway Carol was also the original Ms. Marvel before taking the mantle Captain Marvel but now Carol was always Captain Marvel, they just got that name out of thin air, and Camilla also gets her name out of thin air instead of being inspired by the original Ms. Marvel.
In Endgame Captain Marvel was built up so much but really doesn't do a damn thing in that movie. Her being nerfed so much wouldn't be as bad if her solo movie didn't make her so OP. And remember that the solo movie takes place in the past so she should be stonger not weaker by Endgame.
I wouldn't mind Captain Marvel being so OP because she actually is that powerful in the comics but she had to work up to that power level over time, she didn't just instantly right out of the gate have that kind of power. If you start there, there's no room for the character to grow, she's just instantly the most powerful character in the MCU and it's a big part of why the movie was so boring and uninteresting.
Thorias, you are on point, brother. Except for one thing. They know what they're doing. That's the worst part.
you will still watch it anyway

They're still blaming C-VID and not the LGBTQ they shoveled into Eternals, Lightyear, Strange World etc.🤔
Lightyear is not bad because it has a lesbian couple in it. They really have a tiny role in the movie, their scenes could have been cut out entirely and it'd still be a terrible movie. You could even replace them with a straight couple and it wouldn't change the fact that the movie was just bad.
They changed Buzz Lightyear so he's nothing like the character Tim Allen portrayed. They changed Zurg so again he's basically an entirely different character. The story is just boring and doesn't really make sense. And the idea that they present it as Andy's favorite movie, that is the reason he wanted a Buzz Lightyear toy in the first place, no it isn't.
In a world where this is the Buzz Lightyear movie kids would want the Socks toy cat not Buzz Lightyear. And there's a good chance his mother wouldn't let him watch the movie in the first place because of the lesbian scene. As bad as things are now they were worse back in the 90's when the movie would have been made in universe.
In order for a Buzz Lightyear toy to actually be popular the movie would need to actually show off the features of the toy and he barely even wears that suit.
@@RialVestro Pretty sure that 1 second Lightyear scene was a swift punch in the gut for parents who took their kids to see that movie....Strange World was the uppercut that knocked parents out. Disney animation has been failing ever since. WISH might be good...and I bet Disney won't have any LGBTQ in it (because they know 99% of parents don't want any of that in their kids movies. This movie is the Panderverse in a nutshell, you gotta love the timing of South Park.
If you pay attention, none of those mainstream media articles mention that Disney started changing every character to a strong and brave female character. None of them tell the real truth of why people stopped watching and supporting their movies and shows. those articles look very sanitized, I bet marvel over watched and had a say of what goes in the articles.
I doubt it. These people know what they can and cannot say. They know if they mention that, Twitter will go crazy and they will demand they are fired, so they stick to the stuff they can say. You can talk about Feige all day, but you can't talk about women ever.
You are right, but it's not because of Marvel overwatch, it's because that article was written as a decoy to shift focus from Kathleen Kennedy personally, she was the one overwatching it and she's the main "Girl Power" preacher in Disney, so ofc she would omit all that shit.
They’ll never talk about plot holes, bad cgi, bad plots, and bad acting. Nope, they’ll find other excuses.
Disney marvel is dead, there is no fixing this and all faith in it is lost.
This literally makes me laugh that the media is finally catching up even though everyone already call this out for years, but I guess its okay now to say something.
Blade: “So that’s it? What? We some kinda Blade Squad?” 😀
It's kinda hilarious a movie called Blade, Blade playing a featuring or cameo role. Marvel shitshow turned me from being angry at their screw ups to laughing at their incompetence.
I’m crying tears of joy that the mainstream is finally reporting on all this woke BS!
Are they thought ?
They don't blame woke culter for disaster
Yes, but reporting on it doesn't mean they call out the source of it directly.
Look I know they aren’t out right calling out the woke crowd but this is still progress and I’m happy about it
"There is a God"
It would get more if people would learn the difference between woke and corporate woke.
I have a story that will tell you how big of a clown show the Blade movie is:
I live in Northeast Ohio, & they are set to film Blade in Cleveland. Just like when they shot The Avengers here, they announced a casting call for locals who want to be extras in the movie. Less than a week after this announcement, the director quit the movie.
Why Cleveland, though? Were they making a Drew Carey Show reference?
Disney needs to stop for a second and decide the path for both Star Wars and Marvel. Like he said, Werewolf by night was the last good thing they did. This trojan horsing female leads is getting old to. Either commit to that character being the lead or stop and focus on the title character.
The M-CLOWN-U will be used as a cautionary tale as well as a life lesson in every film school on what not to do with a franchise.
At this point it's becoming parody. They make this shit bad on purpose because they just don't care.
I'm praying that Johnathan Majors is okay. I like Kang as a character, and I'm hopeful for him as a villain. And man, Blade is just cursed. Mahershala Ali is standing around in his house, losing work until Marvel does something with this damn movie.
Loki S2 made me really hope Majors is not a douche canoe. He has done an amazing job of making all his Variants unique entities. It's going to be a tough performance to replace.
@@raharmakis, Exactly. With actually good writing, Kang is a great character. The talent isn't the problem, it's the writing.
@Dave-of2mm, I'm hopeful my friend.
If Majors is proven to have beaten the living sh** out of his girlfriend, you still praying for him? Do you want Blade as a 4th banana in yet another feminist sh**show? And fear not, Ali couldn’t give a crap about Blade and likely has many other projects in the queue. All better than Marvel rubbish.
@@Artist_UnboundAnd that will not change with Marvel.
What I find funny is from what I've heard when Kevin saw the script for blade it was so bad he was screaming at the director before firing him and Kevin doesn't raise his voice( at least from what I've heard)
Kevin Feige was wearing his tampon that day 😏
I understand that bringing in Snipes is a controversy since he is a criminal, but I still think that he should be brought in. I don't think of Blade without thinking about him.
The question is, was he screaming because the script was too w0ketarded, or not w0ketarded enough?
@@Mouse_Metal
Well he did the guy in charge of the blade movie so it seems like it was so bad he screamed at him
This company is dead and Feige is a big part of the problem. How many times did
we tell them to stop this BS...Instead they double down.
Johnathan Majors could either be Johnny Depp or Ezra Miller in this situation.
I don't know if Ezra is a good example since he was exposed and protected beyond reason and Majors is being kept at a distance.
Personally, I think Marvel’s biggest mistake was trying to keep Avengers going. After the blip/snap/whatever they call it, they could have used it as an excuse for an explosion of mutants and done a few X-Men movies, plus half the world’s population being killed by an alien might have caused a fantastic group of four people to go into space to set up something to keep another Thanos from showing up.
Endgame was the perfect time to let new people jump onboard without having to watch 25 movies to get caught up. Basically, just start again with self contained films that hint at connections and build to some big issue.
If I were going to bring Dr Doom to the MCU I would have him appear in the shadow of the Latveria embassy throne room where his first act is to kill the film's lead villian revealing they were working for him.
Also, don't have Dr Doom speak unless you are having Tony Todd doing the voice.
For a post-credit scene
Funny how Variety is now saying the same things all the Marvel detractors were pointing out, but called "TOXIC" for saying it. SMH. Marvel is literally reduced to "Bringing the Band Back Together," to save face. LOL!
Something tells me Disney stopped paying them
Blade kills vampires using cool martial arts, and ends up fighting some big bad in a dramatic climax. Smooth 1 liners optional, but welcome. Add some pathos where he reflects on his condition/distance from humanity.
Make that movie. Done.
Thorias is right, Blade is a hard character to screw up.
8:33 no joke that actually sounds like that could have been way better than what we actually got. Instead of trying to do a sitcom/superhero show/critic of superhero media/law procedural, just do a law procedural focusing on how the law has changed in wake of the MCU. Call it “Jennifer Walters: attorney at law” and have every episode follow a different court case about the events of the MCU. You could even addapt one of her major stories and have one of the first episodes be her defending old captain america. It could also be a great way to introduce Matt Murdock into the world, have him be a recurring character who often fights against Jen in the courtroom, but have him as matt not daredevil. I think it makes the show more concise, gives it a unique identity and it’s no longer trying to be like 5 different shows in one.
This is exactly what I was hoping for, can masked heroes testify? Is telepathy admissible in court? If someone made Spider-Man merchandise can Peter sue without revealing his identity?
The Marvel comic book ultimate Spider-Man had an issue where Kingpin bought the rights to sell Spider-Man products, and when he bought them, he started overselling them.He talked to one of his business partners, and they said we are kind of oversaturating the market is your intention to run Spider-Man's image into the ground by over saturations to make people sick of them? and he was like yes!.that is what is happening to marvel oversaturation with a little Content.
The creators of John wick need to make Blade, not disney.
Oh God yes!
TRY THE RAID!!!!!!!
Everyone: this is all Kevin feige's fault!
Your clarity and perspicacity have been sorely missed, Thorias! Where have you been?
There's just been a bit of a lull in new stuff coming out and a couple things I had planned to cover didn't attract enough views, so I scrapped them (i.e. Loki). I probably need to switch gears to commenting on pop culture news and whatnot during periods like that.
SAT WORD 200 POINTS "PERSPICACITY."
Just a few years back movie makers and directors tried to make movies for audience and tried to get their approval.
Now it's just making bland crap and arrogantly demand the audience's approval and money and call them racists if they don't.
You can try to start a Movie in the Middle, (or the End) and have the Story be resolved backwards
But only great writers can pull that off
And it mostly works for Movies and not TV shows
Sunset Boulevard is crying in the pool as we speak.
I had longed to see the heroes of my youth, those great titans who inspired me when the world was new and full of adventure. But when I found them I saw that they too had been brought low, and I wept as I watched them sink into the mire.
Right ! Who the hell wants them back anyway . Scarlett Johansson is aging out , and since she's on that feminist kick ,The Black widow won't even be sexy anymore . So the hell with it
Ive suggested they stick to Kamg and pivot to a variant, but specifically they should bring the OG comic Kang. I dont see why comic characters cant start showing up.
Keep up the great videos! You rock!
It's like they do this on purpose. We've known for 3 yrs that the Marvels will be a flop. Now we have a 2 yr warning that this will be a flop.
Then there will be more in-between.
I’m surprised you’re not at 50k. Love your vids! ❤
Thanks for the commentary Thorias, great to hear from you and to hear that Disney are finally starting to find out.
I like the money laundering idea that's been going around. Echo and Agatha confirmed it for me
Can't wait for Sonic The Hedgehod 4 where Sonic and Tails are married and Amy has to save the day because Sonic is Pregnant.
Y'know, if Disney had been spending the amount of money making their content that it LOOKS like they've been spending, they might still be turning a profit.
I think it's called 'cooking the books'
I feel like they need to fire tons of people.
Disney has become a text book case on how to go about ruining a major movie franchise.
By underestimating the general public, hiring talentless writers & directors with little to no oversight, swapping out male characters for female characters that literally no one gives a flying crap about.
And then blaming the ticket buying fans for not liking the finished product, way to go Disney.
It will forever cause my brain to "404" whenever I try to understand the decision process that all of these bigwigs use, doesn't matter if its Marvel/Disney, Netflix, Amazon Prime, or DCU -the fact that every single one of these "lets sh!t all over the original IP" projects have bombed and lost them a ton of money AND YET they still green light more of them is enough for me to ponder that maybe I don't need any of my subscriptions anymore.
I hate the fact the Disney-Marvel MCU has been "declared" 616. It's not. That's the comics. Disney-Marvel MCU is 19999. They should go back to that.
My dad gave me a lesson in leadership years ago: take your coffee black or make it yourself. It means, if you don't have time to directly oversee something, you need to trust the subordinates you task to make something workable. They won't do it how you would, but they'll get you something that works. It's a caution against micromanaging and toxic leadership, and it's sad to see it abused by people Feige shouldn't have hired.
With films and TV shows being so godawful expensive to make and the quality being so low, I'm seriously wondering if they're just laundering money.
Dr Doom started out as a one Title villain but evolved beyond that. By the 80's he was no longer tethered to the Fantastic Four, as far as I know he was the first Marvel villain to appear in other titles. He went up against Hulk, Ironman, the Avengers. He was definitely the first villain to have a special edition dedicated to him. It was a magazine sized book that gave his origin story. From his childhood to his becoming ruler of latveria. And explained how his problem with the FF was a personal beef with Reed Richards. So no you don't need the FF to introduce Doom. He is a stand alone villain. As for Spiderman enough with the origin story. Parker graduated from high school then college. Move on and tell adult Parker's story.
You're not the first person to point out that the timing of this article is interesting, right after South Park targeted Kathleen Kennedy. "The problem's not Kathleen, look, Marvel is having problems, too! It's not just Lucasfilm, look at Feige, LOOK OVER THERE!"
50k lets gooooooo 🍻
Bringing back dead characters definitely means there up shitscreek😂
I think in the comics ,Kang has multiple origins. That's why they went to the multiverse and the Council of Kangs. In one series he was a descendant of Reed Richards. In another it was Dr Doom. Just recast.
I find it interesting thst got some odd reason thry can’t see that last is lieing on Jonathon majors
50k🎉🎉🎉🎉 congrats thorias
Imo as soon as multiverse and time travel is introduced to superhero stories everything falls apart immediately. There are no stakes anymore! Everything is meaningless. Character deaths mean nothing,.
Marvel is now taking a page out of the playbook of the Cw. Make all the heroes the shows are named after take a backseat to everyone else. How'd that work out for the Cw? It went so poorly the cw executives had to give away the network. I know there was a lot more wrong with the arrowverse shows. That was a big problem. Focusing on characters for most of whome we don't care about.
Lol the arrowverse was complete rubbish
Great video! Keep it up!
I say just pull the plug with the blade movie.

@@lekhaclam87 yeah I don’t see that happening but we shall see.

No of marvel movies / shows is not the problem. We still have a lot of movies, shows and games releasing every year and every month and we're not tired of it. We just pick the good ones to watch / play...
The problem is them pushing the message. Acting like somehow they are morally better than us and calling us racists and sexists for not liking it.
Wouldn't the Dr.Doom movie come before the F4 movie because doom got kicked out college & became doom before the F4 was created. The story of how he got his powers, his mom, him leaving his lifetime love to live with the monks & how he freed his homeland needs to be told before F4
The real problem is that when they went to TV, that opened the doors to all those people mostly female creators who hate men to suddenly have a chance to ruin the franchise. You will never convince me that the creators of She-Hulk care deeply about that character as anything more than an outlet for their issues with men. They couldn't even be bothered to make her a good lawyer, instead she's focused on screwing around and being catty. You could have made this work but you need one hell of a plan and total control. The second you hire people that you can't micromanage as needed because you're scared of getting "called out" on Twitter, it's over. They brought in a lot of people and let them do whatever they wanted and some of those people just wanted to wreck the place and get paid.
Here's what I mean, they have been making procedural cop television non-stop for the last FORTY years. The public still doesn't get tired of it. Some shows are better than others, but cop shows work because there are way more hits than misses and even the mediocre shows are pretty good.
Also it's pretty clear that the budgets were likely blown on endless changes, and key staff filling their pockets.
The She Hulk writers admitted that when they were brainstorming, they just used stories from their own lives and put those in the show instead of anything from the comics. That show was doomed from the start.

I still want to see super hero movies. I don't feel fatigued, but man! They gotta pull their shit together. How about a She-hulk show from a different universe? and it could have writers that know how to write legal drama. and fewer plot holes. and none of the "Men are bad." BS. and a comic accurate origin story for her. Please Marvel, I just want a good She-hulk show!
i have no faith in any new marvel project.
My prediction? The multiverse will 'collapse in on itself' leaving but one universe as happened in the CW series The Flash during a stupid crossover. The idea of the multiverse is nothing but a NOVELTY, a gimmick, to see different versions of the same character. The downside is that if a character dies, who cares? There's an infinite amount more of them, so a heroic sacrifice like Tony Stark's or Black Widow's in Endgame now officially MEANS NOTHING. It's inevitable that the multiverse will collapse or characters will become pointless and have no inherent value. One or the other, choose Marvel.
Damn I forgot he did play Cotton Mouth in Luke Cage.
Thoughts on the Echo trailer?
Looked cheap. Liked that the tone was serious. Glad Daredevil was back in the black and red suit. Surprised they can show blood on Disney+. Otherwise pretty boring.
Why can they not just recast him? Surely that's the easiest thing to do?
It's not like they haven't recast parts before.

Marvel did the same thing in the 90s with their comics and barely course corrected in time to save their company. Hopefully Disney marvel isn't too late on this one.
I never look at a Marvel Comic at the comic book store and I am decreasing my DC purchases (hanging by a thread). At this rate soon I will only be reading a few Image comics series and Rippaverse!
Ed what's your thoughts on Impact changing their name back to TNA?
Yeah Bring Back TNA Wrestling reviews 😂
There are hints that they will return to the old school proven meathod of a Pilot, then a screening. ONLY then, if approved by those RESPONSIBLE, we get a first season.
*_"THE MESSAGE"_*
- _Critical Drinker_
5:23 I can say many things about marvel, but to say it's complicated or "too difficult to follow", "too interwoven" is not one of them. If anything it'd be COOL if we seriously had guest stars jumping between movies and shows instead of teases of other franchise parts in couple of scenes at the endcredits of movies/shows. Other problem is that shows and movies don't actually connect with each other. Wandavision and Dr Strange 3 are god-awful in how they dealt with wanda/scarlet witch. Hawkeye show was so unimportant that i don't even know why it was ever made. Marven/disney rushed the living sh out of anything past phase 2 and thats the problem.
Then we have the ethernals, or jang chi (the rings guy) and their connection to the rest of the universe was simply ignored. Not hushed, but ignored. Sorry, you either want the interwoven world, or you just make stuff up as you go and ignore rules when they require work.
Marvel problems start when Stan Lee died because theres no one saying how thw thing how to be done
1:14 speaking of which when are we getting updates on tenoch Huerta.
Beats me. Namor doesn't play a critical role in the multiverse stuff, so the trouble with Majors is higher priority, I guess.
The only way to push the Message and have people see it is by using preexisting characters names loved by fans the swap roles mid show or movie. No one cares anymore
They sure didn’t mind replacing Terrance Howard
Saw the Echo trailer. If the show matches the tone of the trailer then Echo needs to be the blueprint moving forward
I cant believe they did a show on Echo. Oh wait I can because she has 3 checkboxes going for her. Deaf, Amputee and Diverse. Pandering to the ludicrous extreme of levels.
Wait, there's a trailer? I thought they were hiding it as best they can or don't even have one.
I think it's interesting how MUCH it looks like Daredevil, meanwhile Daredevil is back in limbo again. It wouldn't surprise me if the plan all along was to replace Daredevil with Echo.
@@user-vg8ox3he1i when it comes to Disney I would say 💯 that was the plan.
I'm guessing the story coherence and in world logic is going out the window because they're too concerned with promoting an ideology or two. It appears that some prominent sub-set of creatives have thought they can do social engineering by just lecturing people through superhero metaphors.
When such a metaphor is congruently socially desirable this is a net positive for the stories that are generated. When it is not, it's an overwhelming negative for the reception of such stories. This is the tail attempting to wag the dog. If the dog is a long way away from desiring to wag from a given stimulus, what you get is a disjointed and painful conclusion. In other words a lot of people end up getting butt hurt both because the ideology they see as unquestionably good isn't accepted (on one side) and because people's sense of social self is being questioned as bad, on the other.
Underlying all this is the very prominent reworking of existing stories moral codes and internal rule sets. The one sacrosanct framework a story has to follow is that the rules as to what is morally right and mechanically correct for a given universe have to stay consistent. If it starts in one place and in a subsequent iteration becomes another, they are not actually the same universe. If the good guys are no longer good or the rules about an effect or property, unique to a universe, changes then the stories that feature those claims are no longer consequences of the original story. They are radical reworking of the universe itself. In reality any story can be added to in any form whatsoever, because there are no rules about how the imagination works. That doesn't mean the subsequent stories are reasonable continuations of the original story or make any logical sense. The writers have to engineer that for it to be a trait of the new stories. If they are not doing that, then why should anyone desire to see them?
They've muddled the continuity, and moral evaluation, across the board, in multiple franchises now. So they are teaching us not to trust the content can be consistent or desirable. That is a much bigger problem than any particular villain or hero. I don't trust them to make good stories because they've shown me their version of good isn't the same as my version of good. Not only that but that anything in the future that could generate a plausibly good instance of a story can be completely undone in the next instance. Why would I want to live in a house where the next time I visit it, it has completely changed and what I liked about the original house has disappeared? Let alone one that has replaced its contents with aesthetically superficial non-sense and annoying housemates who are profoundly unattractive and lecture me the moment I walk in through the door.
The people who are writing the current crop of stories have forgotten why we want to experience stories in the first place. Perhaps they never knew.
Great new marvel news discussion video, Thorias. if both Disney & Marvel dont fix things. there doomed.
Are you ok buddy? You've been MIA for a while
Fine. I just need to get into the habit of shifting gears from reviews to news when there's not much new content coming out.

Someone in the marvel department got the bright idea that comic book fans will blindly eat up whatever garbage you throw at them, reboot after reboot, without ever taking the time to look at comic book sales and realize that while a small number of diehard fans will buy anything and everything, the (American) comic book market has been hemorrhaging money because people are getting fed up with the frequent reboots, the bad artwork, and the crappy writing.

Just a kind reminder that we actually had a recent Marvel movie that most of the people agreed on to be good - Spiderman No Way Home. So to say - they CAN make good stuff if they want to.. It's not that difficult, Marvel!
I looked up Marhershala Ali and eh, he just doesn't seem to have the facial structure for Blade, perhaps a wider chin and more pronounced jawline.
well-they would put ironman etc back and then make him after another 4 girls and even more life lessons. kinda no point while they still have not understood why things do not bring money in
Not even the OG avengers can save marvel
Wesley Snipes is the only Blade...
Black Panther 2 could’ve been ok if they recasted & used a variant. Which could’ve been the plot of the movie with him struggling to be everything the original BP was. But I guess we just have to deal with these weird after-school specials they call movies
I mean, they did the entire Infinity Saga with Thanos without Adam Warlock. Do you really think they care about Doom and the Fantastic 4's almost inseperable history?
Less and less.
