Russia is a big country with lots of different superstitions. In my region some people wouldn't handle money hand to hand after the dark. Knives and clocks (watches are ok) is unexceptionable present for lot's of people. You don't give empty wallet or bag as a present, you need to put something like coin inside.
Those superstitions are part of the culture and it's can be exiting to explore them.

As Malaysian truth to be told, the finger pointing and fist pounding depends on the contexts.
If you in the market and want to ask the price of an item and pointing around the shop, its perfectly fine. Finger pointing is also fine if you want to find/show directions. The thumb pointing is our polite version of pointing, usually the hotel or tourism staff are trained to point that way. But it's not fine if you are pointing at somebody while yelling angrily & cursing because its rude.
The fist pumping (with eye contact) is a body language when you want to fight with someone & shown to someone you want to brawl or intimidate. But, it can be used when you describing traffic collisions (any kind of collisions will do), when you made a stupid mistake (like facepalm) or as a friendly rude gesture between friends. Other than that, well, you'll get an angry stare (not a fight, but if you are asking for it...).

It's because of a certain culture that says If you are in a situation where someone is offering you something, reply with "No thanks, I'm good" in a kind manner, and then they will offer you that again and the cycle will continue until someone backs down.

    In Pakistan:
Don't kiss, hold hands or wear shorts or skirts in public
Always shake hands. No fist bumping etc.
Always be covered head to toe when entering or visiting a mosque and don't speak loudly, better to whisper.
Don't hand things or eat with the left hand.
Tip the guards, valet drivers etc.
Never push through a crowd, ask them to get aside politely.
Never ever touch other a women if you are a man unless it is very important. Even if a woman is dying, a man giving her cpr will probably get beaten to death by her relatives or husband

It’s not because of digestion! It’s only because cappuccino is the only type of coffee we drink in the morning at breakfast. That’s all. In fact you can still order a macchiato any time of the day and that’s fine. Cappuccino=morning, macchiato=any time. It’s like if I go to England and order a porridge for dinner. Well being an India and a Hindu. I believe that ancient Indians were more open minded than current Indians. Well old portrait and rules are sufficient to prove this like Polygamy was for both Man and Woman, probably after Invasions started Man got a reason to oppress women. Even in Game of Chess a queen has more power than King. While Chess was invented in India.

I have to agree with the commenter though, when I went to Bangladesh for month to live with my family, no one ever spoke ever interrupted or just tell me anything about my left hand. Bangladesh isn't India, but it is HEAVILY influenced by India, by that I mean most Hindu traditions and culture is carried onto Bangladesh, even though country has the religion of Islam. You are meant to clean your arse with your left hand, any way is fine, but no one cares about your hand in any other situation. Probably the only times people will point it out is when they are obxious and want to find a fault in you.

The circle with the thumb and index finger is also rude in Brazil. In most countries you'll be safe using the thumbs up instead. Back in '76 I was with a group of around 70 or so on a riverboat in the Amazon jungle. We weren't on a tour, so no guide to clue us in. We didn't know Portuguese, so figured the best way to say thanks was with the gesture. After more than a day of this, an American expat on the boat clued us in. Thankfully, the boat employees never got angry about it. They apparently realized we were merely a bunch of clueless Americans and Canadians.
