My cousin had the “locked-in syndrome.” She first had it from Anti-NMDA Receptor Encephalitis, but she basically had all of the symptoms of the “locked-in syndrome.” She said that she felt like she was screaming inside her head for the amount of time she was hospitalized, which I don’t remember how long. She said it felt like she was trapped inside her own body and didn’t know how to get out. The nurses knew that she couldn’t make eye contact or physical contact with them, but she didn’t know that the nurses were even there. She did eventually recover, although she developed a mild case of Tourette’s Syndrome currently. But, all she remembered was the screaming, screaming from the inside.

One of the saddest extinctions to me is the flightless bird, the Great Auk, in the mid-19th century. The last two living Great Auks, a male and a female, were on an island off the coast of Iceland. The female had just laid an egg when sailors came onto the island. They smashed the egg with their boots and caught and strangled the two birds to sell the skins to a collector. And that was the sad end of the Great Auk.

I guess that proves that the government is either 1)unorganized to the point that people should question if they should regulate anything or 2) they don’t want to document and keep records because then there will be a paper trail. The missing 411 has always caught my interest but I never dig too deep into that stuff.

Keep wild life sanctuaries and zoos around just to keep them safe. Every time I hear this I want to put them together and make them have babies lol. The cause of locked in syndrome is damage or issues with the Pons, which is located in the brain stem. This area is responsible for communication and processing of muscle movements for most of the body. Anything from strokes, toxin, even rapid rehydration can cause damage or demyelination of the neurons in the pons, resulting in the condition. People can recover from the condition, but the timeline for recover is not consistent, but can take years due to the slow healing ability of the central nervous system.
