I love a good RF build. Would be cool to see you do a full setup of this char with a quick and dirty a1-10 steps and maybe transition into explodey. Keep up the great work showing us all how great this game can be.

No minimum gear requirement, all you do is start slotting in explode gear as you get it. Legacy of fury boots, oriaths end, synth explode weapons, explode chest, etc.
You can play with just the explode chest. But IME it really feels nice with the flask, which is expensive. I would probably play it as a second build tbh
Please, include the vod of Exarch and Eater's kills. It's always interesting to see how fast people kill those bosses in basic league start gear scenario. Many people have an absurd idea that everybody else kill them in 10sec even in LS scenario. Luv the vod, I hope more RFs are on the way.

Honestly, it just depends on what you are looking for. I did RF ele into RF ele explode very quickly for extremely fast map clear to then fund the curse pathfinder i wanted to play. It died a lot but the upside was i got whole screen clearspeed 3 days into the league.
@TwoLeftSh0es By the third day, I had a few divines, so I invested in crafting a good piece of explode chest armor (Warlord influence). Well rolled, it's 30% chance for enemies to explode at t1. Elementalist allows for all damage to ignite, so all I needed was proliferation through eldritch glove implicit (preferably 14+ radius) and Herald of Ash. That plus the 3% explode mod from fire mastery made 1 in 3 enemies explode which was enough for packs to die even offacreen ( sometimes unlucky). To push it further I got an Oriaths End with the money I got from speed farming, bumping me up to 60%+ chance to explode enemies, which would cause entire screens to burst pretty much 100% of the time. For just full balls to the walls clear, I went with a death rush, biscos leash, and speed focused flask setup. All of this is about day 7. After that just focused on shoring up defense a bit and speed mapping t16s with 40%+ delirium. Hope this helps, it's a super fun playstyle with HUGE AoE. Your defense comes from enemies not touching you because they exploded lol
LS testing is some of the most fun I have in PoE honestly. I love looking at all the endgame builds I want to push for and see if I can make them leaguestart viable
I started 3.21 with RF Pathfinder, which is great if you can tolerate pressing life flask constantly to sustain RF and Petrified blood. And when you get Abhorrent Interrogation which is super cheap, damage skyrockets.
@@mrzhnex8018 pathfinder gets a node that gives you 25% chance on hit to apply withered as well. Use random skills that cause a lot of hits to stack withered for big damage. That being said, I’m not sure how you path for RF on a ranger

recommend to level with arma crema, gets to maps 20% faster, much smoother playstyle and the respec cost less than the points you get from campaign. can play this all the way to yellow maps before the damage starts falling off.

If you end up playing around with brands I found a bug with them if a brand skill is supported by TRAP support it bypasses the number of brands you can have attached to a single enemy without having to do anything. I’m not really sure if it is a dps increase or not in theory I believe it would be but maybe it is just bugged out. POB seems to think it doesn’t increase either but that could be a bug too. But maybe you could mess around with it.

Hello! I've start playing poe this year. I've been with the same chartacter until now, a RF jugg, and been focus on min maxing it since I find a lot of joy on that. I've been working on a Glorious Plate Chest with Explode Legacy mod and been thinking on give a try to elmementalist RF since the explode mechanic fits a lot better on elementalist, but Im a little worried, since almost every Elementalist RF seems to stack armour/evasion/ES. How viable do you think is going for a pure armour elementalist? Or at list, since my chest is pure armour, will that be a bad start for building the character? Thanks!
Something I've always wondered about: RF builds always use Frost Blink. I'd have thought, with all the fire damage stacking you'd want to use Flame Dash. What's up with that?
frost blink, give chill which give you more QoL but less mobile While damage from flame dash can be ignored and insignificant, but more mobile both based on preferences, but ppl love more defense layer i think, cmiiw
It's a common starter, you can find other videos about it. IME it's a bit awkward because you need AOE to make the wave go faster, duration to make it last longer, cast speed to make it not feel bad to cast, all of which is hard on league start. Ad the playstyle of having to be pretty close to stuff to hit it is awkward until you get better gear. But it's certainly viable, I just found it worse than other options.
i think rf elementist is nominally worse than jugg or inqui for tank too. just need to reach 90 all max res and then can easily convert all phy dmg taken as ele / chaos light coil/clock of flame: 50/40, helmet: 16, taste of hate: 15, es mastery: 10, 1 mod watchers for another 10 so then armour jugg has is kinda irrelevant other than that 8% armour node and inqui has better regen. so the decision here is between a very slightly nominally worse tank for insane aoe and multi screen clears. do let me know if i am missing anything as i will be league starting rf elementalist and if i miss something i dun wanna find it mid run lol.
Hm any way to make the golems rly tanky without too much investment? I tried it out and kinda love the build, but golems seem squishy so I am scared of lategame ~~
i've been wanting to try RF as a main skill for a while now, and i think i've settled on a Chieftain for next league start. my question is ... why Jugg? ascendancy-wise i can get a lot of what Jugg offers with Chieftain and some nodes on the skill tree, plus 25% fire multi and covered in ash on hit. is it the reduced ele damage taken on the Jugg that makes it more popular for RF? or maybe the "slightly" better defenses over Chief?
Mainly I think you massively undervalue the power of unstoppable. That single node is a huge part of the reason you want it for tankier set ups. The armor on ele damage also adds a ton when you start stacking, and while fire multi is good you tend to get a lot of it on rf as compared to other skills once you start gearing. For me it's unstoppable that does it for me but feel free to go chieftain and you can always respec later on
Chieftain is good for explode setup because you can get 100% phys converted to fire. But arguably elementalist does it even better since you can use stuff like oriath's end so don't care about conversion. It's probably pretty close though. I wouldn't compare Chieftain to Jugg, the builds are quite different. Jugg is going to be a much much tankier setup but it doesn't do the explode chaining.
Chieftain's defense is really weak compared to jugg and you cant even scale it. Jugg can go all in with armor and that's more valuable. Chieftains always feel squishy to me but yeah, they do much more damage.
I played a screen clear skill this season. I will never again be able to play a skill that does not clear the entire screen. I'm addicted :D So guys you know, don't start playing such a skill, rather play RF or something :D
fire trap is double as good on elementalist compared to the other ascendencies. it quadruples your single target at high end. an amazing alternative to fire trap is only available through crucible. the nodes that makes reap's dot deal fire damage. its just as good if not better than fire trap. and its cooler.
I always disliked elementalist. It has no identity. You just get damage for all elements...wow. I remember that GGG leaked a witch ascendancy in poe2 at some point and it was dedicated for lightning damage. I think spliting the elements is much better, because you can get damage and other interesting effects.
EO isn’t very particularly beneficial to fire trap as it only buffs hits and ailments, not the burning ground. It’s still worth picking up if you path close
dot damage cannot be reflected to oneself, only hit base builds have to be scared of reflect, for us we just dont want to level up frostblink too high.
why i see every RF build takin the life regen in fire mastery ? I mean when we play RF we are supposed to overcap our fire resistance so taking this node will give literally nothing or maybe there is something i dont understand
@@plantedpotplays1795 doesn't uncapped mean the number without counting the cap? so you usually would have, especially in a rf build, a lot more life regen

I feel like pure leaguestart builds without the potencial to keep scaling are loosing popularity nowadays and especially with RF elementalist i feel like this is the kind of build one plays to lvl 80 or so to then swap to whats shapes to be popular for the league. ITs limited and offers low ascendency respec flexibility. Thats what makes Templar so nice, the likelyhood of beeing to repec it into some kind of meta ish build is much better then witch who is super niece. Elementalist still sucks as long as golems are bad. One of those need to have " trigger golem skills on golem death if you havent cast a golem skill recently"
If you look at say week 2 Crucible then 23% of all builds on poe ninja are Witches, which is far higher than Templar (and all three ascendancies are roughly equal). So not sure why you think Templar is better than Witch for respecing. Of course you should really pick based on what you want to do yourself. If you just want to level to 80 I feel like arma brand is probably better than RF anyway. RF only becomes good once you get some of the explode stuff going.

Explode boots, herald of ash, explode chest or explode flask. Basically all explode is herald of ash but you need some explode source to trigger it.

ascendant is pretty hard to do on leaguestart just because of its awful early game(really the ascendant needs good jewels to perform well IMO)

you swap out of golems as soon as you get some gear anyway

you gain life regen equal to uncapped fire res, so 75% fire res = 75 life regen, pretty good early
Its a very good mount early on that sustains RF very easily. 75 regen at lvl 12 is a lot. And later on its still like a 1 to 2% life regen node.

Elemental overload is useless for RF.

If you look at say week 2 Crucible then 23% of all builds on poe ninja are Witches, which is far higher than Templar (and all three ascendancies are roughly equal). So not sure why you think Templar is better than Witch for respecing. Of course you should really pick based on what you want to do yourself.
If you just want to level to 80 I feel like arma brand is probably better than RF anyway. RF only becomes good once you get some of the explode stuff going.
