- Whelp, the ice has came and gone faster than a middle schooler looking at a boo boo mag, but.. I'm okay with it. Partially because I have to be okay with it, but also, because I just am okay with it. Ice fishing season is a lot of fun, but it's a lot more work, and it's definitely a lot colder. Open water and 65 degrees HERE WE COME. Boobles and I set out to one of our favorite spillways. We didn't visit it last year because of drought, and construction, but figured hey. Let's go give it a looksy. While it was a lot different than it had been int he past, it was still decent.

Thanks for the video Josh ! Your fishing videos with Jor-Dan are fine but Ashley is even better. I think if I caught a big head carp I'd bleed it out. I'd probably take it home and toss it in the yard for the crows to enjoy, I might even try cooking some. An alternative might be to chop it up and throw it back in the creek for the other fish and crawdads to munch on. They look fun to catch but not a desirable addition to your fishing spots.

Do big headed carp make good catfish bait? That would be my option.
Carp make great catfish bait. Not as good as Gizzard Shad, but I have had very good luck with it.
In Nebraska it is actually illegal to keep a fish that is extremely snagged so letting go of the big head was the only option. Very cool video and ready to see more Angler Ash content
I'm up 5 Northern pike and a handful of smallmouth already this year! Nice fishing. I don't kill anything unless I plan to eat.

The minimum length for keeping pike fish at the lake I live by is 48" they are getting big on this lake.

When we throw a fish back, if it's a caep or sucker we throw them 'way back'. In the bushes, that is.

Well.. if your asking. Probably. Cmon man I'm not a fan a wasting or killing stuff.. but on our blue ribbon trout streams we kill bass pike and rockbass if we get some in the slow water holes. Your an angler. Plus u fish more than most u could actually help some? Kill them invasive carp and junk stuff. Do your part as a angler bro. Pitch it up in the woods off camera. Don't tell us viewers even. That 1 fish makes 1000s... I'm not trying to be right or u wrong. Just .. have to do our jobs to protect our waters.
