This guy is the best. I spent a solid year going through all his videos until I could finally beat my son in a 1v1 😅 I even took a lesson from Billy. Highly recommend that. Do the full 90 minutes or whatever his longest option is. You won't regret it. I'm pretty sure my arms even got bigger.
Finally a beginner guide that's actually for beginner! Most I see on this site are more medium to semi-hard tutorials and nothing actual beginners can easily follow. And even though I've been playing for a year (though I started playing builds in S1) I've actually learned a lot that I can actually do here like boxing myself up by looking down and spinning!
This guide is so well-explained and helpful!🔥Your tips make building in Fortnite feel way less intimidating. Keep up the great work-you're making pros out of all of us!
Thank you SO DANG MUCH, I've been playing solidly in Zero Build for 2 years now, but I'm just too intimidated to touch build, but this was so accessible and useful! I appreciate it!
And, he's back! Missed your tutorials, Billy. I'm still trying to become a decent player so I can be a better teammate to my son but this game is so bloody complex that I often want to throw a towel in, haha.
It's been 2 years since I watched your video on how to free build and dude thank you I've gotten so much better I'm still dog sh*t but the fact that I can actually box fight and build effectively is awesome
Your channel has proven most helpful to get better along with raider 464 and Ciece's channel. Kenbeans, sly jack, destiny jesus and reisshub get an honorable mention and a few other random channels with good tips but for a one stop shop Billy Bicep is goated
I've been watching these videos for years! They have helped me get better at the game ever since I started. Thank you so much for helping me improve at the game!
thanks man I'm really weak and I didn't know about almost everything you said thank you very much for creating a guide for really beginners I will definitely try everything you said
Tip 0: Don't compare yourself to pro players. Saying "I shoot someone and they build a 5 star hotel" is a bad mentality. Don't do it like them. Do it like you.

@@BrightCatalyst I presume it’s because the focus with your builds can differentiate a bit between different seasons. Like what he said about some of the new gadgets coming out this season (such as WarMachine’s jet pack) making high ground retakes a less valuable skills since there’s gadgets around that can mostly do it for you. Other than that builds, edits, peaks, etc. are the same every season.
I am a beginner and i find it hard to even get practice opportunities, since when i queue into creative maps, i get really good opponents and i cant do anything against them. Does anyone have tips on what i could do to improve
Get better settings, practice, do drills, learn how to shoot, learn how to build, learn how to edit, learn how to piece, and also I'm still learning these. I hope this helped!!! ❤❤❤
Loving the super simple breakdown for a newb dad like myself. Getting into Fortnite with my son and man, gets hard to win after level 70. I need to build!! QUESTION; when you build your box, are you adding a floor under your cones (bottom and top cone)? K thanks, Bye. PS, my win rate thanks you..:)
As a console and controller player I would appreciate if next video you bring up the importance of getting a pc. You can still play on controller on pc and the advantage of having a pc is better fps. You can only get 120 on Xbox and ps5. I play on Xbox series s and I always see players land before me and I feel like my edits and impossible to get down now I now it’s because 120fps is so bad. It’s impossible for the gameplay to feel smooth with every kid having a pc with 240+hz. I am now switching to a pc and going to buy a 240hz monitor. That way gameplay and edits feel so much smoother and I won’t be at a disadvantage when editing and fighting. If you would bring awareness to the advantages of higher frame rate it would help more than you know. I just now found this out after playing everyday since chapter 3 season 1. I’ve watched your videos for a good while now and I could never get my gameplay to feel smooth regardless of your excellent tutorial. I would always stop trying after a week. You are number 1 Fortnite building tutorial on TH-cam and I’ve learned so McGuire from you. Thank you for so much free content. I will always thank you most for helping me get better at Fortnite. I’m 29 and not as good as these 13 year olds that play 13 hours a day. I have other things I do in my life and usually only play a few hours at most each day. I plan to become as good as you. You are a A+ editor and competitive player. I use to play for fun, Now I turned into a sweat. Started buying every battle pass from chapter 3 season 1 till now. Been grinding for a few years now. Much love from Kentucky! Shout me out I don’t mind.
I'm a slow learner and there's no way I'd even try to start learning a game that people have been perfecting their technique at for over half a decade.
Thanks for doing such cool education videos. It is realy great that you clarify realy basics thigs like why we need edits or boxes at all and not just triple edit-like stuff. I realy like fortnite and expecially build mode, but still strugle with this. Can you explain one thing please. What i suposed to do, when i start fighting with guy and he start build to the sky with fancy edits totally ignoring me? Should i try to retake highground? Leave him? Or something else? Thanks you a lot
One quick question, I'm struggling to notice which walls are ours (I mostly play in the team with my son and his girlfriend) and which ones are opponents. I know that there are white borders and red borders that differentiate them but they don't seem prominent enough to me. Would you suggest messing with contrast settings or color blind settings to make them more prominent? Or any other way to spot that? If I'm in a crazy 'tower' I often get completely lost not sure what to edit and what to smash. Thank you for your videos, Billy, you're one of the most eloquent explainers of this bloody complex game.
Do you hold left mouse click while placing builds and then move into edits? im new to both mnk and fortnite and cant seem to build at all on mnk im so slow because i click for every build

Wow, I wish my dad had an interest in my video games. Your son is lucky to have you! :)
Awesome bro!! GG ! Good for you dude 💪🏽
Vouch! Another dad lesson taker right here 💪😎👍
@@shawn8425Thanks man. That was nice of you to say
@Stank_Johnson You're welcome haha. Keep having fun in fortnite :)
