wait a minute, your 5-year-old is w-keying in BR mode? Much respect from another gamer-dad. My son's 15 now, and he's lightyears ahead of me in this complex game. I'm just trying to learn the ropes but I find my progress very slow and painful (get my ass handed to me all the time, haha).
@@TheForadotempo you must be really proud of him. I know I am so proud of my son. Is it just me or it seems they learn this stuff so much faster than we do. I've spent the same amount of time in FN BR as my son but he's Unreal and I'm trying to survive in Pubs, haha.
These are great things to know in order to survive in mid-late game. Next video, could you please cover how to survive at the beginning of the game in tight buildings?
finally an actual guide like where you show what to build, i have a hard time figuring out how to even start off piece controlling ,when i used to play it was just about high ground so all this piece control stuff is so new, appreciate it
Thank you so much for showing the examples in creative. I do Raiders and other piece control, boxfight, etc., maps all the time but have no idea if I'm doing them right, so THANK YOU.
First guide I’ve actually seen that explains it for noobs. Other videos dive into it like I’ve already been playing fortnite nonstop and skip over the info that I’m actually seeking. Like how to actually box someone in the first place, thank you
One of my favs from your channel so far! I've known what piece control was for a while now and have been using it (like the dummies in your examples of bad piece control lol), but now I finally feel like I *understand* it. I can only imagine what intermediate and advanced piece control look like if this is the noob level though lol (edit: my comment made sense when the title was 'piece control for noobs,' but he changed it apparently and now I look dumb)
You know what doing this then in game examples is such a win... Ive seen this map many times and also played it many times, but seeing it in game wow thats the content clutch... I'm subbing with noti's your content is so well explained!
sorry this is the best youtuber to learn anything on fortnite very underrated most youtuber just put a lot of hype and stylish plays without much explanation but this gives a breakdown of diferent examples how to do them and how to aply them in game and makes it worth it by showing you it in game
this is amazing thanks. honestly an amazing guide. as always. it's nice to know I'm doing nothing wrong by not using those fancy creative piece controls.
Thanks for the video. I stopped playing in Season X and got back in Chapter 3. I missed the whole "tunneling/piece controlling" part. Now I'm trying to learn these things and nobody explained how to perform basic piece control mechanisms.
Billy, mega-thanks for this video. I'm curious, why you prefer v1 of Raider's piece control maps and is there a sequel video with newer versions planned?
I learn so much from you! I appreciate your content. I have your channel on my page because I feel you share a lot of great content. I am ok, but I'm not good at building. I have been practicing a lot from the info on your videos but I just haven't reached the level I want yet. And it makes me not want to build in games. Thank you for your content! I hope to build in Season 2. Maybe.
had quite some trouble getting the walls to place easily on controller on example 4...and sometimes it seemed like I literally had to get on the ramp of the bot to place the far wall
This game doesn’t get the respect it deserves. It has the reputation of being a kids game because of the game colours, skins & items. I think the building + editing mechanics make this the hardest online multiplayer out there. At the highest levels, it’s amazing to watch top builders compete and fight it out. Such a skilful game.
Hello how do you aim build pieces (ex. Walls) on specific locations? I tried boxing my opponent from high ground but i end up boxinng myself instead. 😞
Hey, I'm not sure how I can ask this, but I have some confusion on binds related to some of the actions done. It looks like in the very first example when you're boxing someone in with a ramp and 3 walls, that when you're on the right side of the wall on top of the cone, you reset the wall with a croner edit, and make it into a wall with a window at the same time. In the past I understood all you needed in order to do this was to just reset it while not leaving build mode, and then confirming the edit. Fast forward to now that I've changed my binds to scroll wheel up edit+reset. This makes it so that every time I reset the edit is immediately confirmed. Do people have a secondary reset button besides scroll wheel up I don't know about?
@@DrunkenHotei it’s just the placing a high cone and wall while jumping and still catching yourself with the floor that I find hard. I managed it once so know it’s possible. For now I’m leaving the cone out of the jump, and just placing the wall and floor in the side jump.
@@FreedomX1979 If you hold whatever you have the high cone bound to while jumping and turning, it should wind up in the right place automatically. However, you can place the cone above the enemy from underneath the ramp before you even jump, so really all you need to place when jumping is the floor and wall, if that helps :)
Do you give private lessons? I want so bad to get better at this game, everything I’ve taught myself and I feel like I’m doing OK, but I also feel like I’m making a lot of mistakes including not even knowing where to begin on how to build. I would love if there’s a way to how are you for an hour just to teach it maybe ask some questions one oh one. Thank you for all you do and all the videos/material that you give us. I started this game to connect with my son more and I really kind of getting a taste of Fortnite fever in the process lol, so let me know if you give private lessons. Thanks for all you do Billy and thank you for keeping it clean and professional.
Honestly I just can’t wrap my head around piece control. I would consider myself an average player and I’ve practiced maps a ton but I just don’t understand how to use it in an actual fight.
I love that you showed the creative example and then did it in a real game
i know i love cranking
I started playing FN with my 5 year old son 3 months ago, we´re both sharing a screen on console :P . Absolutely love your videos, thanks heaps!
Great to see adults playing fn

Are you good at it now mate?
I keep going back and finding new elements to add to my game even in these older vids. Billy please come back!

good video but why you skip drill 14 and 15 in your tutorial from the piece control map?
Thank you so much bro
It's soo funny how I edit and block and I put my opponent in a box but I miss every shot or I damage like 30 or 26 headshot
A tip for ypur aim just wait till the player first hits the ground

Need a good duo partner to grind with for next season.
Love the outro
i learned a lot from this
Very informative
Great video, I played it at 25% normal speed and made notes! The 8th drill is quite hard on controller but will get there eventually.

Nice video on why to play zero build 😂
no way i can tell what you are doing on the raider's practice map?
whats your key to editing fast?

How do you do this on ps4 controller I don't know how to do edits
If you play on console with a regular controller, this is hard to do
Get a paddle controller, easier then. Though with practice should be possible to learn on a regular controller too.
Putting your code in my shop forever
Why arent there any bots when i play raider piece control v1??
What mouse is that
