I am 58 and have always loved music and love to keep up with what is going on in the world of music. Listening to non-mainstream genres has always been my thing and when I hear people say there is no good music out there these days well, yer not digging deep enough THERE IS!!! I'm 53 now but was your age when I became addicted,I've been clean now for three years Christmas eve,I found the only way I could quit and stay clean was too forgive myself,it doesn't make you a bad person to be an addict,that's society, keep beating yourself up just perpetuates the addiction, don't let it take 20years before you realize you are worth a life free of waking up rattling worrying,about how your gonna get though the day,if you've slept at all,believe me it is easier,keep fighting,all the best.

I find that some days are easier than others when it comes to forgiving and being kind towards myself, but I've yet to make it stick. Shame and self-hatred is the default. I know I'll never have kids if I don't get sober, and that's all I want, so I have to change. It's just tiring.

I quite possibly have sys lupus and shit it is utterly brutal ... i also have similar to narcolepsy which is debiltaiting in itself .... have ptsd from horrendous treatment... i feel you so much on how we simply get by day to day... but once we can turn that pain into our own power however that may be... we too can and do live again.. a little different than we planned .. but we get one chance at this life. We need to keep going and know we all have a purpose.

I used to mentally struggle a lot, but that stuff literally changed my life for the way better.
Nowadays loads of people seem to be helpless and caught up in their own mind.
Meditation is a legit way to uncover your true self and out of suffering.

I'm almost 70 & have been involved with the Music scene in Texas for 50 + years.. I've seen many talented musicians come & go, but have NEVER been more moved by an artist & the shear Talent of Ren. Favorite band of all time is Led Zeppelin ( real innovators ) & Ren has taken a Place Right At The Top of my list along with them. I Pray for you Ren that you recover from your illness , God had a plan for you enduring it, & you are fulfilling your True Destiny.

I feel you honestly 💜 im sorry you have a chronic condition 💖 I hope you can live when you can, when you get a bit of reprieve or just in general have a slightly better day than the day before 💜 i can empathise to a point as I've got a chronic condition myself, i say to a point because i dont know which condition you have it may be totally different to mine but their all awful, having no real control over your life is just so tough! I have had crohns disease since I was about 10 years old, first surgery for it was at 13, had 10 more surgeries since then so im pretty sure im just a walking machine at this point lol, sorry dark humour there but you have to laugh sometimes or you just cry all the time from frustration 😅 I've spent way too much time in hospitals or laid up isolated from the world 🌎 it totally messes up your mental health aswell, like my doctors have only now started to realise how much of a mental torture the whole things been so far and I'm 30 now! Took me having a psychotic break for them to even listen to me or understand at all what that does to not just your body but your mind! Nhs at its best... But listening to Rens music I find so therapeutic because I can relate to so much of what he says,and also to see him overcome his condition and do his thing musically even though it must be tiring and difficult is really inspirational 💙 it makes me feel like I can do things instead of automatically just going no I can't I have this wrong with me, I loved his music before I learnt of his condition, but after learning about that it just made so much sense as to why I related so much and made me love his artistry even more! I just want to see him live the best life he possibly can, and you aswell, anyone with chronic illnesses I just hope and wish they can do some of the things they want in life, take care 💖
Pretty much discovering Ren now, and this is my favorite new piece by him. What I find fascinating about Ren (apart from his multi talents) is the fact that even though he's handsome and charismatic, he does'nt rely on that at all. His work, his passion and his laser focus is what he brings to his music. He shows us a lot of himself, but doesnt sell the superficial. I find that bloody refreshing.

Like a lot of people, I fell down the Ren rabbit hole (after Hi Ren was posted in a discord I frequent about a week ago). Of course I was immediately blown away by your talent and moved by your story. But as a poet myself, with a love for wordplay, I’m completely knocked on my ass, legitimately speechless. “Pupils dilate in the dark/People die late, in the dark” is brilliant, and that’s just one of many! I have seen so many comments from people of different ages and back grounds who say Ren has made such a difference to their outlook . I've had Ren on repeat for months now. No music resonates as much as this music for me right now.
I started listening REN by accident, now I am obsessed. I started painting at the same time, cause my mind is constantly thinking, there is constant flow of thoughts. And right now my only way how to stop the thoughts and relax, is to play RENs music a paint. It's ultimate relax for my mind and I thank him for that. It's not surprise that my paintings closely knit to his music. Some of them are colorful and full of life. Some of them are dark. Like my thoughts. I am grateful to him for that. That finally me and lot of other people are understood. ( not english speaking person here). Please never stop REN 🙏

I just discovered Ren a week ago and I REFUSE to binge on his songs. I don't want them to stop. So I force myself to wait a day or two before I watch the next one even though TH-cam keeps ramming them into my feed. And I think I've watched Hi Ren like 12 times. I NEVER do that. Just wow.
The line "Life is ironically f***ing me chronically" is so painfully perfect. It's like Ren was blessed with an unusual amount of talent but to almost reign it in, the Universe made him sick.
Such a Legend!! So very hypnotic and yet stimulating. His vocals blend so beautifully with the instruments and beat. Also, can we just appreciate the fact that this is all one take... breathtaking!! Ren has changed me. I'm 64, and I listen to rock and folk music. I never listened to rap or hip hop. In my defense, I never disliked those genres. I just didn't think I connected with that type of music. Then I came across Hi Ren. I didn't know what I was getting into. My first thoughts: Fucking brilliant on the guitar! And he's cute as fuck! (I'm gay, cut me some slack!) 3 minutes in, and the tears start flowing. By the end I was a blubbering mess. Of course I went down the Ren rabbit hole. I haven't found a single song of his that I don't love. It's been months now, and I still listen to Ren EVERY DAY. My Echo must be tired of hearing, "Alexa, play music by Ren." I get home from work, and do I sit down, relax, and watch TV? NO! I watch freaking Ren videos! I even find myself rationing them out. "No, don't watch that one yet. Save it for later. Watch Chalk Outlines again. Or Genesis."
