I have an incurable liver disease and instead of doing scary treatments to prolong life, I’ve been letting it slowly kill me due to fear and depression. This song inspired me to “focus on my power.” I’ll never be totally healed, but I have the power to at least slow down its progression. After hearing this song, it inspired me to call my doctor and schedule my treatments. Definitely will be blasting this song on my way.

My health is a wreck too (neurological disease and pancreas and liver problems) and I have been feeling like life has kicked the chit out of me for the last couple of years without a moments break. I am ok with the end drawing near but felt I lost the fire that makes life worth living for a while until just a few weeks ago. Some switch hit out of the blue and I felt it catch again and by chance stumbled into Ren's music right about that same time. It was cosmic synchronicity and I felt like I made a friend who understood just how I feel through his own experience with it all.
So, I so relate to your post and how you spoke about this song and how it moves you. Kindred spirits all around and a connection through this music that is what life is all about, IMO. "Focus on your POWER" girl and make the best of what time we have left in this crazy existence. Take that little gift and run with it because you can live more in that time period than most do in their entire lifetime if your mind focuses on that power you have within. @@wcoasttiggerYes it is very easy to feel like hell when your own body fails and betrays you and you feel fate has dealt you a chit hand. I have always taken the road less traveled in life and paid in kind but this hit me when I was at my peak best and wiped me out 110% as people all around me just added to it by getting their own kicks in. I had never been taken so low and didn't think I would begin to feel like getting back up from it for a very long while. Just preferring to sadistically punish my own self and becoming a true glutton for punishment by my own hand. I don't know what caused the change because it came out of nowhere beginning from a series of dreams. Something was ignited within my soul and now I feel mentally ready and even hungry for round two even though my body is still disintegrating before my very eyes.
Music has always played a huge part in my life and it has been a big part of this change too. I have stumbled into a few new artists that have really grabbed me lately but this artist here is something really special. His music is like ointment for the soul and it gives you the energy to carry on and desire to strive or live on. I hope your daughter finds something to give her that special encouragement to keep pushing even when the whole world seems to be pounding on you without remorse. That will be important in her struggles and it helps to have that inner strength that is inspired by music, art, and self expression. Having that is crucial to getting through the dark chapters and painful nights when you cannot sleep or find peace of mind because of the affliction you suffer from.

Some people are as timeless and ageless as truly good music is divine. They have an aging body but the mind is as full of fire and life as if they were a teenager their whole life. I'm not even someone who listens to rap (uh, *didn't* listen to rap before I found your stuff), but of all the mind-blowing music you've brought to us, THIS is the song I listen to over and over and over. I'm a happy person, I live a happy life, but I appreciate what you're doing for people who go through hard times. As for the likes of me, I think you're teaching us compassion. I'm around your age, and I totally agree. Ren has found a way to include every age group in his lyrics & music. He seems extremely intelligent, he speaks to our hearts, down to the soul!! He's such an amazing talent. ❤
What we're witnessing here is a first. An artist that is so talented that they could literally put out two totally unique concept albums a year, for probably the next decade. It's never been done before. We all need to keep this same energy for years to come. Let's keep Ren relevant so that he can stay on this journey.

I love it so much - I think I'm having a bit of an addiction to Ren at the moment, I go like that, I am a boom and bust person my therapist tells me, I go and go and go with things, my art, my writing, any obsession and then crash LOL - so Ren it is for this week, but I'm sure Ren will be stuck on all my playlists from now on, and this one is definitely one to play when creating art and diggin into your own POWER! I'm 50, but what do they say, age is just a number and as a poet myself having never really being into rap, I think I will make an acception for Ren. He makes me think of my children and all of their creative endeavours, when my daughter sings I cry, not many other artists do that to me - but Ren's had me crying this week as I have discovered his voice, not just his singing voice, but his creative voice through his music, his character building, world building and reflections of his world - awesome journey to be a part of and as I am coping with my own mental health problems that seem never ending and now I have mobility challenges, I feel for this young man undergoing his own health struggles. Never had a top ten, but there hasn't been a top 10 song that helped me fight my depression and not feel alone. You helped me understand how to be me, ignited the fire in me that shines brighter than street lights. Diazepam never helped with my depression, but the power in your lyrics helped me stay humble and escape the chalk outlines that were my past. Life is funny that you showed up right when I needed something to hold on to. It's alright everybody drops, with patience you helped me make my way with this pocket full of pain. I used to turn a blind eye and be a heretic but your music hit me like a bullet, now I'm ready for you to rule this money game. Or at least feel the wealth of all the people you have helped, thank you for being our crutch.

As someone who's struggled with psychological warfare, multiple suicide attempt, faith and spirituality and relentless self loathing, this music has helped me so much... 36 years old and a few months out of a 5 year relationship. A terrible ending, a broken engagement, stepdaughters I raised and loved like my own... I needed to know this music existed right when I found it.
I love how his friends have helped him all along the way.
