I own a 2022 outlander exceed with white leather and to me after personal comparison to sportage to me it is a much better put together car and rides much better. The bang for buck is exceptional and I even find the engine peppy enough to for me. Mitsubishi are having trouble keeping up so they are definitely doing something right. Sportage is a good car but the outlander feels so solid and rugged and ready to go where as the sportage is a bit out there and more city focused

Loved the styling of the Sportage at launch, great interior and technology. Have driven the Outlander Aspire (not Exceed) and I love the styling, certainly a huge improvement over the outgoing model. Love the Range Rover-esque front end, especially when optioned with black OUTLANDER lettering. Tough choice, Outlander looks more spacious, especially the adjustable second row. Outlander for me. Another great video. Love the format.

Interesting! I just test drove both this week. Ended up getting the Kia, an SX Prestige trim (US). And I'm a big Mitsubishi fan. I traded in a 2011 Outlander GT, and my previous car before that was a Galant. But the technology won me over with the Kia. I also felt it was punchier than the Outlander, not sure if it was in my head, but that's how I felt. I like the Outlander's exterior more, but I like the Sportage's interior more, and I spend more time looking at it from the inside than the outside. People out there look at the exterior rather than the interior, and they won't help me pay the bill, so I went with the Kia 😁
In all seriousness, I think that if you also have these 2 cars in mind 50/50 like I did, and closed your eyes... and picked one... you'd be happy with the outcome!

Never had a black car before... ... ...HOWEVER!!! 😁... ... ...this car is a pain in the neck to keep clean, I hope I don't end up regretting it. There are sausage finger fingerprints all over by where I touch the exterior... we'll see. But I like the car quite a bit. I've never had a car before where people ask me what car it is, and tell me it's a nice ride (1 person said "sweet ride"). And for some reason, several people have asked me if it's electric. Maybe the daylight running lights give that vibe to people...

The Outlander used in this review is not the top spec. Outlander Exceed Tourer is the top spec. And the interior is so much better than the one in the review. It has Two-Tone Exterior Body Colour, Two-Tone High Grade Leather Interior , Driver and Front Passenger Seat Massage Function aswell. Top spec outlander is about the same price as top spec Sportage, but you get extra 2 seats. The Outlander gives 10 year warranty compared to 7 years for the Sportage. Bang for buck Outlander is better in my opinion

Great comparison as always, and the winner for me is the sportage, but like you, I would go for the diesel better torque, especially in mountainous regions of Australia, and better fuel economy. The new outlander actually looks quite nice on the interior over it's previous model, but I don't like the exterior design at all, Sportage wins the styling for me. People buying these SUVS need to realise, they're AWD, not 4WD, so they're not going to be comparable for major off road use, they're more suited to perhaps dirt roads that have a degree of maintaining done on them, but they'll handle some minor wheel ruts.

This was excellent and I enjoyed the format a lot. One question I have is about the rear seat depths, the Sportage’s rear bench looked shallow, was that the side on view playing a forced perspective trick or is it actually shallow? I’m not in the market for either vehicle, I’m just curious.

I bought the VRX AWD [NZ] Traded my beloved BF Fairlane. After 5K and 4 Months of ownership, i am just getting confident enough to throw it around. Steering speed took me by surprise [No test rides [covid] but in really tight corners in Tarmac mode ,it's exceptionally good, thought i would miss the Barra punch and ZF 6speed [Rebuilt twice],but no! acceleration is ok and economy wise achieved a best of 16.7k /L, which was pretty good at main highway speeds. Have a little movement in the drivers armrest from closing the door on a 20deg drive way, also the towing hitch cover on the front came off in the carwash [undamaged] Chose the dealership and the warranty for my purchase ,but , no issues ,and no actual complaints, Very Happy.

Any chance of doing some reviews using the base models of cars instead of top models. I'm sure not everyone out there can afford the top model and there don't seem to be any reviewers that review base models. The difference between top and base are usually worlds apart, so would be nice to see what you can actually expect if you can only afford the base model. For example, I'm looking at base models in several cars, including the Outlander 5 seater AWD and the Sportage base model, but it's almost impossible to find someone who is reviewing these cars.

Sportage's exterior styling is a bit weird for me. It's a bit, soft? Not a fan ... I think the big win for the Kia are the curved screens. The Outlander has rugged good looks, the light grey interior is phenomenal and blows Kia away IMO.

Especially appreciate that it was in the city where the environment of other vehicles, Freeways, on/off ramps etc, adds to the daily challenge. For me it's nearly a toss up on which car is better. Abaj006: Got one (NZ) and yes, you get 80km in EV - more in summer (we've had 101km in a single charge), less in winter - maybe more like 70km. It's also extremely fast - 0-100km in 7.0s (in tarmac or power mode). Traction is phenomenal - better than my 4WD Ranger. Hybrid fuel economy? Not really sure - only filled up once - 90%+ in EV mode, but likely 6-7 L/100km (assuming starting with a fully empty battery) - which is lower than the 8.4-9.4 L/100km for the petrol. Got the LS, not the VRX - didnt want the extra weight of 7 seats or the low-profile tires. Lovely car all around.
Thing to note about the VRX (or top spec) PHEV is that the rear seats sit slightly higher (because of the batteries I imagine) so with the extra headroom loss due to sunroof, tall people don't fit. Another reason to get the LS model.

My son - a P plater nearly ran into an oncoming car because he didn't know I had that auto steer thing on and the car wanted to maintain a centre-line approach which on a country road was heading into the oncoming car! Not a very good system and not warranted I reckon. (He was driving a GT Rio). At $2.50/l diesel don't think diesel will even be an option these days. Have you wondered though that during the gulf war oil was $110/$120 US a barrel and all we paid was $1.50 for diesel? Today oil is $99 -$110 US a barrel and we are funding weapons for Ukraine sacrificing our own families here in Australia and legally price gouging with everyone's blessings!

    • @daweigo6851
      @daweigo6851 ปีที่แล้ว

We are not funding weapons by buying fuel...don't think anyone has given high fuel prices there blessing, they have no choice but to pay the higher price, just like cost increases in everything from food to cars, there is a massive inflation all around the world..most due to a surge in demand after years of a global pandemic which essentially had most of the worlds economies on hold. Its basic economics..

Don't understand the problem you describe with lane centring:
      1. It only functions if it can see line markings. Sounds like the road you were on was unmarked so lane centring would disable.
      2. When the car is started, lane centring and cruise control default to off. If you do a driver swap without turning the ignition off then lane centring won't automatically reactivate.
      3. Lane centring can be defeated just by turning the steering wheel.
