I’ve a Kia car for almost 10 years and super happy. Now considering a change, and hope that Kia will bring their car with better equipment and pricing compared to Hyundai. I could not help but notice that the steering wheel was not quite straight when you were on the freeway. Alignment Problem? Does the Hybrid come with an 8-speed DCT?
Truly the best review; would you know if the 8 speed transmission is coming to USA? We have held back from the KIA turbo because I hate the dual clutch in the Turbo. Love the steering wheel. We travel 2000 miles round trip a few times a year. And the hand rest with the openness of bottom of the steering wheel. Where you place it in the video. Shout out from Miami, Florida USA.
As far as I know, there's only this variant of the facelift Sportage being made, there's no other transmission for the ICE model for Korea, domestic market. Hope this answers your question, but I cannot be held responsible for what might arrive in the US.
The hybrid has a tendency to hold rmp when making a turn (left or right) from low speed while the engine is on. Can you please test if the facelift had any change in the 6-speed transmission tuning/software to address that characteristic? Thank you!
That has been bugging me with my 2023 Sportage hybrid. I thought my car had a problem. I tried to explain it to the dealership and they won't understand. Now when making a right or left turn from stop I turn slowly so the battery is used instead of the engine. It is very annoying. I hope this is fixed with the facelift. Please check and confirm this issue isn't a carry over
Hi - Is this the GT line S model that you are driving? I am from UK and I don't see a X line model here. I am confused between Hyundai Tucson 1.6T Ultimate manual vs Hyundai Tucson 1.6T 48V MHD Ultimate DCT and the one you are driving. I have only driven manual till now and never driven a DCT or automatic - which one would you go for if you had to choose between these three as the ones that fit the budget 😊
Hi, the trim names are different around the globe indeed, this isn't the loaded model but a "regular," let's put it that way. You can differentiate it by the front bumper easily. Are you sure those three you've listed have similar price tags? I'd always go with the hybrid, so Tucson Hybrid is the one I'd pick, and it probably has 6spd auto with HEV, not DCT.
Is it more fuel efficient because of the new 8 speed or did they change more? Personally I’m not satisfied with my 1.6 hybrid (140hp) from Hyundai/Kia which is in my Kona. Fuel usage is higher then expected on highway and performance sucks when the hybrid battery is below 20-25 percent. And this happens alot to me, even at 100km/h and some wind the engine cant handle it without draining the battery.
It's not just the motor and transmission that contribute to MPG, as you know. Manufacturers implement numerous changes and updates inside and out, such as updated TCU logic, improved parts, aerodynamics, and more. The end result is improved MPG regardless.
For sure. Suspensions are always tuned for each car, especially on facelift and PEs. The additional dampers on the front suspension alone would make a quite big difference.
