My dog just threw up some grass. Hadn't eaten yet.....so.
Dietary is usually the answer, it’s not always the case, I’m not a vet certified life experiences having trained over 500 dogs most through rescue rehoming , over the years one major problem I found is food, anal gland problems in dogs could be food trouble, I’ve found that it’s started by keeping a dog that’s locked up to long not able to relieve themselves, have the exact case with are rescue Lab Walt, food change helped wasn’t the complete fix , I do believe over time having this problem he’s taught himself to eat grass for relief now he just eats wet fresh grass especially in the morning, I would love to know his former owner and lock them up until the shit all over themselves, if you don’t have the time to take care of a pets needs, get a goldfish. Actually dietary is part of the answer, if you’re dog is getting proper care it’s usually the food, I believe it’s proper fiber ratio to loose of stool possibly doesn’t push everything through correctly, fasting your pet a day each week is my best remedy, works every time unless you love high vet bills. I believe as humans we think keeping pets on a meal plan is best, this isn’t their original design. My wife thought I was crazy fasting problem health issues, it works and we need more research into this. It’s not the quantity it’s the quality of the diet, there lies the problem.

I think the dogs eat the grass as a vitamin. It was rare but my dog used to eat grass sometimes... Maybe a hand full every month. It was rare.
I feel it's none of those reasons. My dog is still in the puppy stage, and I think she does it to entertain herself. When she is playing chase, and gets the zoomies is when she does it. She hasn't gotten sick yet.....that I know of, despite the fact that she appears to eat a lot. I'm going to start taking out on a leash.....anything else?
I have the EXACT same situation
My puppy just finished with his set of vaccines and just started introducing to the outside. He literally attacks grass like a kid with candy or chocolate and gets mad if I stop him.

Mine too..... exactly! She's a year and a half, so not exactly a puppy anymore, but she sure acts like one.
Bro it’s a puppy and grass won’t hurt him unless you use pesticides but grass is fibrous the dogs body takes what fibrous material it can from the leaf before the digestive system starts it’s movement. grass doesn’t break down the dog only has one stomach and doesnt have what heribivores need to breaj grass down into proteins so grass never has long enough to sit in a dogs stomach the grass acts almost as a clumping mechanism and starts to speed up the dogs fecal system causing looser stools depending on diet but much more matter from stools relieving the digestive tract and all foreign bodies.... Dogs dont eat grass but when they do just know it’s usually not cause for concern if ur dog is at ur side 24/7 and wimpering that’s when the problem is because now they have no other option but to ask you for help because they don’t even know what’s wrong with them they just know “that doesn’t feel right“

Very true. Our dog eats grass but we found out it had parasites. We sorted that out with medication.
I give my dog a lot of rawhide I know it's not really great for her but I'm sick and she needs to go out everyday and sometimes I just don't have the energy or I'm in too much pain to take her for a walk so I give her extra chewing things to help her with her energy and anxiety. But lately she's been eating a lot of grass and throwing up I'm wondering if perhaps she has rawhides undigested in her intestinal tract it really worries me. I'm not going to give her a rawhide anymore
How did that work out?
Rawhide is bad for dogs, there are healthy alternatives like rawhide free chew sticks

*My dog is incredibly picky about his food!! He won't eat hard dog food or even the wet chunky food!! Only ground! I have the scoot a way chewable fiber chews for him too but he won't eat them! As far as treats he likes the gravy milk bones so at least those are hard but it's tough bc he has always had anal gland issues since the day we rescued him! There aren't enough options for dogs to eat and it's sad! And the options available for more homemade style foods .. they're incredibly expensive!! What can I do to help my pup??! It's tough!*

If you want to made them homemade dog food it's cheap. Rice, some chicken, a can of green beans or peas or carrots and bam! Dog food.
My parents keep feeding their doggie table scraps. Our bodies can barely digest it, much less a dog.
