Best diet according to this video
    1. Cod fish
    2.butternut squash
    3.fermented milk or keifer
4.filtered water or bone broth not chicken based
    5. Slippery elm bark..i have used this and it works...if you dont have this an alternative is ...cook white regular rice...keep the rice water throw out the rice and combine into ingredients above

When my few months old kittens had diarrhea almost everyday for over a month I gave slippery elm bark and it did help somewhat, the chicken/rice/pumpkin didn’t help much. But it never completely stopped until I fed them a raw diet for the first time - it took literally ONE DAY. Diarrhea NEVER came back.

    • @hammypie
      @hammypie 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

I tried reintroducing canned food but the diarrhea always came back. So I only fed raw. And when the new owner adopted them he continued to feed them commercial raw - no diarrhea and poops never smelled!

Slippery elm is good but can be harsh on the tummy. Marshmallow root works as the elm does. But milder on their tummy, .

Thank you for another great video! I suggest anyone who is thinking of trying psyllium husks to premix with water (warm water if you want to speed up the process) and let it sit for 30 min or so to completely hydrate before adding to the food or it will clump up inside the digestive system. It soaks up amazing amount of moisture so be super careful!

I do agree that pumpkin has high GI, but we also need to consider the carbs and sugar content in pumpkin which is very low compared to white rice. And pumpkin has low GL index. So, even diabetics can eat pumpkin with no issue. So, perhaps we need to reconsider our opinion here on it. What do you think, just my 2 cents on it. Thanks

Thank you for stating that chicken is high on the meat allergy list. I’m very allergic to chicken. So many think I’m crazy. I do give my cat chicken but I am constantly switching up her protein. Right now she’s having a fish blend. I’m thawing some venison for her next. My cat has chronic gut issues since I adopted her. But since I switched her to raw food she has improved dramatically. I give her kefir in her breakfast and bone broth with her dinner. And I include a small amount of psyllium among other powdered goodies in every meal, including grasses, kelp, nutritional yeast, etc. she rarely vomits now. Stinky stools and flatulence are practically nonexistent. She doesn’t hate her litter box. She has way too much energy now. And she was in such bad shape with malnutrition when I got her at age 4, the rescue let me have her for the cost of a senior cat instead of an adult cat. But now she acts more like a kitten. It’s been over two years since she’s been on a raw diet and she’s doing really great. Vet is very impressed with her health. Thanks for all your informative posts. They are most helpful

We referred to a hot/cold diarrhea recipe depending on the symptoms for our dog according to a Yin and Yang diet book for dogs. For our kitties, slippery elm bark and feline gut soothe from adored beast always solves the issue. Your recipes provided alternative solutions for us to play with! I only give beef broth to my dogs, when they have problems with their guts. The broth lines the gut really good and soothes inflammations. In case of diarrhea, I also add some natural sea salt.
If my dog has eaten something toxic prior to his gut problems, I give him charcoal tablets before giving him the broth. Later I give my dogs what we call "Heilerde" in German, and which translates to "healing earth" in English. It also removes toxic waste from the guts, it also reduces inflammation and has healing properties, and it also contains healthy bacteria to support the microbiome.
I also give my dogs tea instead of water, a mixture of fennel, anis, cummin.
And finally, I give my dogs also white cheese and in addition, I mix in electrolytes together with their white cheese.
All my dogs always liked this diet. And I always was successful with this diet.
I also give my dogs this diet over three days after they got antibiotics. I add more and more of the boiled meat I made the broth from.
The broth I make from bones with marrow and a pretty big slice of a young bull's leg, which also contains a part of the bone mit marrow in it.
This makes 2 liters of strengthening broth. I make sure to get the bones and meat from a young bull that lives on a pasture and eats grass and other greenery, as is usual on organic farms.

I have a question. When you take your animals to the vet, do they tell you you shouldn't be feeding your pets a raw diet? I asked my vet about it, and they basically treated me like an idiot and the only information they gave me was grain free diets cause heart problems for dogs. I really really want to start feeding my dog and cat raw, though, because I want them to be the healthiest they can be. There's obviously debates about these diets, but from what I've seen, it makes alot more sense than feeding them kibble. So I guess I'm wondering how you went about telling your vet about it? It may just be my veterinarian but it's seems the general consensus amongst them is that feeding a raw diet is harmful.

What can I do with a constipated kitty? I switched my new kitty to a raq diet and now she cNt poop. I've been giving her pumpkin but she still can't go. I pureed some Broccoli and made bone broth, mixed it in with her food but still no poop. Heelp

At this point you need to take her to the vet, its very dangerous if she can't poop.

… I am actually tempted to try white fish/cod fish with the rest of your recipe next time my dog will have a stomach upset and vomiting as you cannot find a rabbit meat in a supermarket here in UK so my GSD would have to hunt for it himself I think .. 😂

We have to start hunting for our pets meals now! LOL rabbit?.What about broth.? Or raw ground turkey esp dark meat. I'd have to hide the zucchini & squash in the meat. She just spits it out. My cats like to just rest & raw ground turkey & whole yogurt.

Cut the vaccines first! WHY do our pets have such digestive issues...anyone look into that? And where do get rabbit easily? My dogs have more of a reaction to white fish too. My cat does well with pumpkin in her food to completely stop the the projectile hair ball vomiting. I also use Dr. Mercola's mushroom blend for a prebiotic. And my poodles HATE slipper elm. I use it for my horses but man the dogs..no way. Unless you have an aggressive eater.
