Had a day trip from Hiroshima to Miyajima Island in mid-May this year (2024) and it was everything that you guys say it was! Absolutely amazing! Busy but sorta laid back because of the beach/island vide I guess. Reminded me a bit (a very small bit) of Rottnest Island in Western Australia where I'm from - probably just the casualness of it all. And of course it's deer on Miyajima not quokkas. And while quokkas on Rottnest may look pleading at you for food (but you don't feed them) and may climb into your backpack if you leave it on the ground, the bl##dy deer on Miyajima will try to take the food of the table and pull at your clothes and bags, as we discovered when trying to have something to eat near the beach there! Staying overnight is certainly something to think about if you ever plan on going there. Great video and much respect for travellng with young kids.
