If your lab reeks of hexane i can understand the concern, but with the amounts used here, you're unlikely to get anywhere near the hundred ppm exposure limit at any point. I'd be ever so slightly more concerned about DCM bt even there it's not that big a deal, maybe move it to the fume hood on an exceptionally hot day.
Yeah, I also wouldn't worry about occasional exposures to small amounts of hexane like this. If you are still worried, just substitute heptane - it will work identically, but does not have the same neurotoxic effects and is also somewhat less volatile.
