perfect explanation. Saved my ass. I need to perform the whole Schlenk line task tomorrow and until now i had no idea what to do. but now im feeling confident that im able to perform the task. thanks.
Nice vid but after the dry solvent has been added surely you should've turned the N2 tap back on for the RXN mix as your vent needle is allowing air in?

Great content. I'm taking my advanced inorganic chemistry lab this semester and having to come back from online learning to in person have made my lab skills weak. Thanks so much for the videos. They help a lot
GREAT video.....one question: 15:32 you say always make sure the oil level is below the rxn. mixture.........I would disagree with this, as I was taught this could lead to hot spots...I always allow it to come to exactly the same level.
that is why we need a stirring bar to mix the heat more homogenously. Without stirring, the level of oil bath does not predispose the RBF to possess hotspots. better?
Good instruction but I don't understand the purpose of this. Looks like a compicated way to pour in your solvent, you can just flow N2 and use a sep funnel or am I wrong?
@@chemfunman at say 9:20 you can just pour the anhydrous solvent into a sep funnel and drip it from the top of the condesner under N2 flow or in a nitrogen box. I don't understand what problem is the Schlenk line solving (I'm not a chemist)
Why did you leave the N2 flowing towards the condenser and the flask after removing the exit needle? Won't that cause overpressure and blow off the septum?
@@chemfunman interesting, I try to understand the function of the over pressure valve after STUTZ. Is not that easy to finde this kind of information, how to install and how to use this kind of over pressure valve. Maybe you have once time and could make a video how to install a valve after STUTZ at a schlenkline
Why do you only make sure you suck the posible oxigen from one black tube but not the one may be contained in the little flask or the one in the other black tube as well as the reflux column?

Thank you, that is right!

thank you so much! glad it helped :D please share this video with people who you think will need help
Superb video for chemistry experiments under nitrogen atmosphere with pressure variation transfer techniques. ❤️👍⭐.
Thank you!
Your channel is very good! Congratulations!

@@chemfunman - GOTCHA! Still an awesome video with great info!

Magic.
Informative video
many thanks

@@chemfunman yes it has :D
Can you quote me the time in the video relating to your question?

thank you :) I will try this today :D
sir, kindly tell me, how to convert formaldehyde 37% solution liquid phase to gases phase, what types of container chamber can use in this work
Great Video!
thanks! hope you learnt well. enjoy

Didn’t happen to us! We just hope to keep the interior full of nitrogen to preserve the dry environment
this is good practice. the excess nitrogen just leaves through the oil bubbler. its good to leave on in case any holes are in the apparatus.
Why do you do not use a over pressure valve ? Do you do not need it, because do you work just under normal pressure 1013,25 mbar ?
Possible to use a valve, just that here we did not have the equipment yet.

Damn, your voice is relaxing bro.
Keep up the great work! Great Video! :D
You are cool, man! Thanks loads for your support.
@@chemfunman No probs man!
Excuse me, could you tell the inert gas purifier you used to reduce oxygen in operating schlenk line
lemme check! it was in an older lab.
cannot reuse the exit needle again for the next reaction?
Thanking you very much
most welcome!
Hi, do I have to dry my cannula in the 100 C drying oven immediately before use to prevent introducing any moisture to my dry solvent?
that's what i normally do, dry with acetone too
It is better to use a proper condenser for refluxing althought it is just for showing.
both work fine! to each their own
What is the use of liquid nitrogen?
Cool down trace solvents.. remember the Schlenk Line must be moisture-free
Защищает вакуумный насос от паров растворителя
Why do you only make sure you suck the posible oxigen from one black tube but not the one may be contained in the little flask or the one in the other black tube as well as the reflux column?
Have to assume that has been done prior.
How high psi is the nitrogen?
maximum 100 psi to be safe, try go lower
Thank you so so much!
Great video!
