2016 Ford F-150 Limited - Is this the only vehicle you need?

  • Nowadays, pick -up trucks are multi tasking vehicles. Some are work vehicles by day and family vehicles by night, some are office commuters by day and haul horse trailers on the weekend. One thing for sure is that modern day trucks can handle both jobs equally as well. The 2016 Ford F-150 is the perfect blend of technology, luxury and hard working truck. All while being economical and safe. As for the aluminium body debate, I leave that in your hands.

    Some of you u need to really compare the Denali vs this limited model. I had he Denali for 3 months and ended up trading it in for this. There is a reason why this costs more. The Denali I got was listed for $63k and this limited was listed for $66k so it's not that much more. But the GM incentives are more so u will get a better deal. But when your spending this type of money then another $5-7k is not much. My $63k Denali was the ultimate package with the 6.2L so nothing cheap about it. For that much money u don't get that much from GM besides an outdated otherwise good looking truck. All u get is a troublesome 8-speed transmission, remote start and a backup camera. Power running boards that are loud. And oh yeah a remote app for the phone and retarded ass Bluetooth system. No smart entry. No push button start. No trailer back up assist. No adaptive cruise control. No blind spot monitoring. No vents in the rear. No 360 camera. No auto high beams. No tail gate release button. No park assist. So in consideration of the all the added features as compared to the Denali I think I'm getting a better deal. I'm not biased towards any brand since I am weighing in my options for the money. I must say the Denali rides a little bit better than the f150. But the terrible transmission stressed me out to the point that I had to give it up.

      You never been inside a RAM Limited, obviously. Now thats a truck, real V8 with real V8 sound (difference from F-150 is so big that "separate universes" is the best analogy i can think of), insanely nice interior that words cant describe, far better audio from Alpine (the Sony used by ford is a very bad joke compared to Bose in GMC/Chevy and Alpine in RAM), vastly better with air suspension, and so on and on. Where i live the RAM outsells the Silverado and F-150 combined 2 to 1, and Silverado in turn outsells F-150 by atleast 5 to 1.

      It doesn't count when you live in a town of 100 people. Ive driven both the RAM and the F-150.. You have to be stupid to say the RAM is better.

    • @matthewhartup941
      @matthewhartup941 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The Ram is a decent truck but absolutely no comparison to the the Ford F150. Don't know what planet you live on, but here on planet Earth the F150 is the number 1 selling vehicle world-wide... and also, F150 has been the number 1 selling full size truck for 40 years running, dominating GM and Chrylser. Let that sink in for a minute.

    I own a 2016 F-150 Limited and have always owned a Ford truck. I was an auto technician for 25 years before changing careers, and Chevrolets were known for their body rust and Dodges were always in the shop. I'm sure things are better now and all trucks are about equal, it's a personal preference, but I'll stick to my Fords and I love my new Limited.

  • @Trades46
    @Trades46 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Saw one of these today and it really caught my eye. Which is saying something because in Toronto isn't exactly truck country. Had a look inside and a bit of reading later and I'm impressed on the luxury features Ford will throw in a pickup. It is expensive, but so is a Range Rover, X5 or Q7. And the Europeans will still continue to nick you for options like push-button ignition and navigation.
    When Ford claims the F-150 is their best selling vehicle in Canada, I'm honestly not at all surprised. What I'm is how loaded these pickups can be. Seems like a genuine alternative to a luxury SUV if you can stomach a ~$70k car with a Ford badge.

  • @DummyFace123
    @DummyFace123 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Its such a beautiful truck. I have the king ranch fully loaded like the limited but with the v8 and sport package.
    Driving it is a joy, and riding in it is luxurious. The back seat with the moon roof open (well.. not open-opened) makes you feel like you're riding in a limo.
    The leather, wood, chrome, moonroof, cavernous space, and the unfolding side steps have really wowed everyone thats ridden in it so far.
    Theres so much space with so many windows when riding in the back, its unlike any other ride. Not only that but you sit so much higher up than most other cars on the road.
    Luxury sedans are getting jealous. Dropped $65K on a jaguar? Ride with me and feel stupid for not having one of these babies.

    • @DummyFace123
      @DummyFace123 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +guy proulx I know what you mean, but luxury sedans are all about high quality pleasant rides. I like nice things, but I'm not a huge fan of sedans. They're limited in ways that trucks aren't. Trucks can combine capability and luxury.
      Girls like nice expensive cars cause it shows you have money. Guys like having the utility of trucks. Thus, Murika invented the luxury truck.

    I live in Abu Dhabi where temperatures reach up to 50 C in summer, when I was in the market for a pickup truck, my first option was the 3.5L ecoboost, but the dealer didn't recommend it because they aren't sure if the turbo can handle the heat, they recommended the 5.0L. what do you think?

    So many people whining about how much it is! If I want to drop $70K on a truck, it's nobody else's business. I want a vehicle where the options for lower trims come standard. I want a luxury family vehicle that's safe, that's nice to look at, and has the capacity to tow whatever toy I want. As such, this truck is perfect for what I want and need.

  • @niccoppola
    @niccoppola 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is there a reason why it is only 14 mpg? I like the new f-150s but my 14 platinum v8 Tundra gets 11.3 after adding aftermarket wheels/leveling kit and a light bar. Not to mention I also floor it daily.

    • @Josh-sm6td
      @Josh-sm6td 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      He was getting 14 mph because he drove 140 miles in over 7 hours of driving and stated he sat in traffic a lot, that stop and go from traffic will kill anything's mpg tbh.

    I have a 2016 F-150 XLT Supercrew....love it. I looked at the Limited, but that price....holy shmoly! It has to come down a bit for me to justify spending that much. There are a few things this has the XLT doesn't, but that $20K price difference....? Nah, can't do it. Sick truck though.

      Roger Rodriguez We'll it's true this has a little more features than a GMC, but your going to pay a premium of 10k plus for this truck. I would take the Denali over this truck any day, price and I just like the truck better overall.

    I think it's less susceptible to small pressure dents, is that true? Also, it isn't going to rust up there in Vancouver.

    • @jadenantal1652
      @jadenantal1652 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know about the small pressure dents, but the aluminum alloy body does not rust

    • @itethe
      @itethe 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jason Gull I work in aviation and see corroded aluminum every day as we do repairs to aircraft structure. To say that aluminum doesn't "rust" is not correct. Seems like a lot of people are ignorant of this.

    • @jadenantal1652
      @jadenantal1652 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Johnny Blaze ZX14R
      well since the body is an alloy, the part that is not aluminum is probably what makes it rust

    • @maxanator6
      @maxanator6 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jaden Antal no it wouldnt rust it would corrode the instant that the metal touches oxygen

    • @bradnoyes7955
      @bradnoyes7955 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      but once a layer of aluminum oxide forms, it can actually help protect from further corrosion, unlike iron/steel which crumbles exposing more iron/steel to start rusting.

    But how can I even fit my motorcycle/plywood/rocks in that 5.5ft bed?
    If it's a "family vehicle by night" what happened to the 6th seat?

    • @matthewhartup941
      @matthewhartup941 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The F150 is available with a 40/20/40 front seat with the 6th seat, but not in the Limited model. They also make a lwb supercrew cab with a 6.5 foot bed, reg cab or supercab with an 8 ft bed, and they also offer a bed extender on any configuration..

    • @jjjrickey
      @jjjrickey 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Matt Hartup Yes I am aware they sell in 8ft configurations. IMO this is the only type of pickup anybody should buy, higher payload, highest towing, best use of resource. A 5.5ft or crew cab says "I don't need the full capability of this truck, and I am wasting my money". -this person should be buying a midsize truck to save money, fuel, etc. since a fully spec'ed Colorado can tow just as much as a 2.7 or 5.5ft bed F150 and carry same passengers.
      Don't get me wrong, everybody has the right to drive a nice vehicle, and it's fine if they want cooled leather seats and shiny wheels. My complaint is that these trims delete the 6th seat and 8ft option. Thus defeating its hauling capacities and creating a complete waste of a vehicle.
      The guy in the video is taking about a things you can do with some other F150, the model he's actually showing cannot do a few things he mentions. Also a bed extender drastically restricts trailer towing ability... again, a waste to get the short bed.

Ever been on an airplane with somalian kids? Makes you wish for a planecrash thinking "at least those kids will finally stop kicking and screaming".

      No im not, i just saying you guys dont know how to raise kids, and thats the truth. Why does european countries with many somalian immigrants spend so much time and money on getting somalian kids into kindergarten at young age? to teach them some normal behaviour since the parents dont.

      Anyone seen a chinese or japanese kid go crazy on an airplane or train or bus? No, exactly, they learn to behave at home and then they behave also when out.

    • @wilsonproductions3504
      @wilsonproductions3504 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You're pretty uneducated on the aluminum that's obvious. guaranteed it's stronger than the steel of the truck you own now. if you even own one.

    • @pflaffik
      @pflaffik 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Take your pills wilson, you really dont want to drive the f150 without a decent bedliner, spray-on or drop-in or both. For contractors and farmers a plain steel bed is the way to go, strong and durable and easy to clean when smooth surface. With bedliner pressurised wash is often your only option.

    I have a 2015 F150 with 54k platinum. My interior is just like the one being shown. Sprayed lining bed with roll and lock bed cover. Run don't walk get as far away from this thing as possible. These trucks are mechanically money sucking nightmares. Why do you say that? Well my dealership just gave me a $5500 repair bill. They actually think I'm letting this traveling nightmare back on the road. Mine is parked in the driveway gathering moss and I'm driving my wife's car. Why? waiting to pass this nightmare on and buy a real car. Learn from my mistake and run to any dealership but Ford.

    The F-150 desperately needs a 3.0 diesel, with that kind of fuel consumption it can't be the only vehicle you may need.

    • @pflaffik
      @pflaffik 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You must be european. In most US states its cheaper to drive gasoline trucks, not to mention a lot more rewarding. Like the RAM ecodiesel at 240hp, its very pathetic compared to a 5.7 Hemi and when they have the same fuel cost, is there any doubt what to get? Diesel is so european and boring...

    Built queer! With anus massage! The Denali (or Silverado high country) 6.2L is very much preferred, and best of all is ofcourse RAM Limited 5.7 Hemi with its super awesome interior. If you ask "what could be improved on this truck" the RAM wins easily, theres simply nothing one want to change about the RAM Limited, it has no cons.

      I agree, the color looks simple and "wrong" and close up it looks downright cheap with bad texture, not luxurious like the Silverado High Country saddle brown. But nothing beats the semi-aniline leather of the RAM Limited, wow thats so delicious and perfect, all truckers wet dream, its so classic wild west with a touch of harley davidson, RAM Limited is the truck for "live hard ride free".
