Rocking three Pure Wings 2 case fans, two as intakes, one as exhaust, and soon a NH-D15 cooler with a Ryzen 9 3900x in this baby. The temps are fantastic.
Nice video, but cable wiring to motherboard would have helped some of us. I cannot find the reset switch connnector at all on mine. [EDIT] There is none apparently. The button up front is RGB control. Then there is what might be a 3 pin connector that might be the ARGB power, but it isn't labeled and when I plug into my B550 ROG Strix to the ARGB header, it is very loose on the pins. Then there is a connector about 0.7 inches long that I have no idea what it does and it isn't labeled either. It isn't the SATA power cable which also isn't labeled. The manual is barely helpful for these items. I'm not a terribly happy camper now, will have to contact be quiet, ugh.
This is a perfect breakdown of the case...I only wish you had detailed each of the cables the case comes with. The manual for this case is not very clear about them all.
Great Video, just one thing to mention: At ~ 07:02 you say that these fans are "Silent Wings 2" - normally they're shipped with "Pure Wings 2". Atleast here in Germany.
Mine didn't come with a fan cable holder you mentioned in the video? Also the paint is so bad i screwed fans in that i misplaced and it left a nasty paint chip each hole from the screws and i didn't even tighten them...
So i have this case and I just got some sleeved cables and re-ran and managed the cables. I just noticed my power LED does not illuminate. I cannot for the life of me remember if it worked before, but it doesn't work now. I know I didn't connect anything to the power LED header on the motherboard, but I cannot find any cables that aren't happily connected where they need to be. Is the power LED run through the ARGB connector? If that's the case maybe I damaged something when doing my cable work. I'm just pretty stumped and out of ideas.

Will someone answer the question that bothers me, I have the same housing, or when everything is connected, the front panel can be freely removed, I do not mean when the PC is turned on, but when it is turned off. Do you need to unfasten something to remove the front panel and get to the filter which is located just behind the front panel ??. I am asking because, unfortunately, there is no mention of this in the film, and the panel is removed when the housing is still empty.

I recently built in this case and it was quite an amazing experience. I have only one thing and that's cpu cable. There is not enough space. I have Dark Rock 4 Pro and plugging that cable with cooler already installed was a nightmare. There is no way to plug that cable once you have motherboard installed so it has to be done with extra pair of hands together with motherboard installation. Installing the cooler in the case after MB is installed would be way worse. In general the case is great. It's really quiet and it looks amazing.
thanks for the heads up i also have the dark rock pro 4. Is it possible to already have the cpu power cord through the top hole and or try plugging it in as u set the mobo in?
@@Adapting_Adventures if you have extended cables for the power source you should be good to go, just plug it in, install the cooler and put it into the case. Hello people. I have recently purchased a pc prebuild, came already instaled with all I needed, and I have this case as well, I have 1 fan at the back, 2 on the top, and 2 in the front, but the 2 on the front, do not work, or are they suposed to start only when pc overheats? or reaches a certain temperature? I have check your video also, and It looks, your 2 front fans are not spinning also? Hope someone has an answer. Thanks fellas
I ordered the case now but there is one question. Where i plug the fans in? Mother board? Or is there a fan thing where i plug all of them in and one cable goes to the motherboard
I have this case, in order to line up the case holes on the PSU bracket it must be screwed onto the PSU but not completely, then you screw it onto the case and align them first, afterward you can finish screwing the PSU in. Otherwise the case won't align with the bracket and if you force it the holes might strip. Also the front panel wiring seems to be headered if you ever need to fix them
Such a fantastic case and I was really looking forward to use this one! But sadly it seem like it simply won't be big enough for am RTX 3080 and a front mounted 360mm AiO
Great build, but suggestion: put the glass panel on when you do the montage so people can see what the case will actually look like while they use the computer. Nobody's going to use this with the glass off.
Just finished moving my PC to this case yesterday. Everything went well... except when I went to remove the case's USB 3.0 connector from my motherboard so I could re-route it. The connector got ripped in half when I pulled it out. I had to yank out the piece that got stuck in my mobo with pliers... No front panel usb for me :(
Can I ask, did you need cable extensions for this? I just bought the case and now I'm afraid that my standard PSU cables might be too short for cable management. Thanks.
With my mother board I have a clearance issues for top Mount radiator, I haven't upgraded my gpu yet planning to in a few years. At the moment I'm able to do a front Mount tubes down but I'm not sure if adding a 2 fan gpu will cause issues.
Any idea why the two pure wings 3 that come with the case are slower (around 500 rpm) than the 'traditional' 4 pin pure wings 2 that you can buy anywhere ? Seems odd to me since they have the same name...
Great video, thanks! What's the thickness of that radiator? Will a Liquid Freezer ii fit there (with low ram)? Will it fit in the front with long cards (300mm)?
Hi i did some digging and found the answer see here the post with pics from sebastien on the overclockers owners forum: www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/threads/be-quiet-500dx.18887366/page-6
@@TrumpWinner That's awesome man, thank you so much! These are also the exact ram sticks I was thinking about, so it's perfect! From the look of it, if you don't go for a card too long, you can even put the radiator in front with pull!
@@DanTurambar yeh a few pages back on the forum a person has done that with a 3080 card and still has 50mm space. no worries about GPU space if front mounting.
How much do the screws on the left side glass window stick out? I'm considering this case for my build but have to fit it in a small desk cabinet with 24cm width. Since the 500dx is 23.2cm wide without screws, will it fit my desk with the screws on?
If anyone has the answers to these, I'd appreciate it. Would a thick AIO like the Liquid Freezer II 240 fit top mounted (which is 63mm thick)? If front mounted, would there be any space left for putting one of the case 140mm fans? Cheers
Hey! I am thinking of building in this pc case. Would the Dark Rock pro 4 fit with 2 140mm fans up top and on the exaust? if not then what should I do? And also can I add 2 more 140mm fans in the front panel?
Recently bought this case but i have only front panel lights... i didnt see any leds inside the case. Did you have it like seperate spare parts or it was already inside the case or i didnt connect something till the end? Another question which type of gpu will be best for this case open air or blower type? I just got rx vega56 recently, sold it already away as my glass cass cover was getting extremely hot and graphic card was extremely noisy... thinking about which gpu should i buy to solve this problem or i should install some additional fans???
Everything in the description is all the parts to build the gaming pc right?😅 (PLZ reply) so I don’t have to buy any fans or any kind of that stuff like that?
Hey! Mine has another fan on the top of the case which I don't see on yours, did you remove it to fit in the radiator for the AIO? Is it possible to fit the AIO at the front?
Would of loved it if you actually showed attaching the cables as every tower is different and every motherboard is different. Not sure what one of the cables that came with this pc case does at all. And there's nothing about it in the booklet. Assume it's for maybe more modern motherboards as mine is an old b550 msi board There is also no usb cable to attach to motherboard or is it hiding somewhere attached to the case? If you've never used rgb chain link fans from be quiet it's very confusing at the beginning.
Great review. Just some questions. DVD Drives are a thing of the past or? How I install that on this case? Do all the fans have to blow the air out? Or do some bring fresh air in as well? I built a PC 6-7 years ago and as much as I remember the front fan blows fresh air in and the back fan blows hot air out of the case?
Does that hard drive tray prevent you from installing a third 120mm fan at the bottom front? If so, is there any way to install a 3.5inch drive anywhere if you remove it? And if you remove it, will you then be able to see a mess of cables in front of the PSU?
I'm trying to get over my pc building anxiety from my newegg experience I had ages ago. Hopefully this time everything works and I don't get stiffed. I made sure I don't use newegg. Bastards.
How is your fan setup? I bought this case too and Idk how I would instal it. 2 front intake, aio top outtake and 1 back out, or 2 front in and aio in and 1 out?
Great video man, but have a problem with it. I can't connect the argb of the case cause it's a 3pins 5v and my motherboard is a 12v 4pins, can someone help me please? The rgb of the case doesn't work so...
The rgb will still work if you plug it into your mobos rgb slot, but without an argb slot you won’t be able to fully customize the rgb. You could either upgrade your mobo or check online for a good 3 pin to 4 pin adapter.
Loved the video, really helped to solidify that this is the case for me. Just one thing, you repeatedly said that it came with 3 140mm silent wings, but the listing for the case says 3 140mm pure wings, has this been changed or was it just a mistake? No bad intent, I'm just trying to get some more info. Again, awesome video, keep it up!

Any idea why the two pure wings 3 that come with the case are slower (around 500 rpm) than the 'traditional' 4 pin pure wings 2 that you can buy anywhere ? Seems odd to me since they have the same name...
Where do you plug the case and heatsink fan headers? Motherboard, or straight into powersupply
fans go into the sys_fan 1 2 3 etc, CPU cooler goes into cpu_fan
Great video, thanks!
What's the thickness of that radiator?
Will a Liquid Freezer ii fit there (with low ram)? Will it fit in the front with long cards (300mm)?
Exactly what I want to know, can I fit the 240mm liquid freezer 2 up top?
@O G
They being be quiet or arctic? I've approached both with the question and both refused to give me straight answers..
Hi i did some digging and found the answer see here the post with pics from sebastien on the overclockers owners forum: www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/threads/be-quiet-500dx.18887366/page-6

That's awesome man, thank you so much!
Did you add any led strips? Theres seems to be A LOT of light for just the default led strip in the upper area
How is the noise? This case have no noise insulation, so maybe not so quiet?
hello, how can I reset the PC when the PC case does not have a reset button?
can i put fans at the bottom?
6:21 just bought this case but in black, and its missing the clip 😔 6:21
Thanks for the great video
mine too. Must be an America thing. It's more than 100 bucks here too...
Are the ram sticks behind the cooler ? i have an arctic freezer and it needs
a lot of top clearance .
Will this case support an E-ATX mb?
What is the silver piece in the parts kit with the screws?
I can't seem to fit my radiator in this case on top. It's hitting the RAM. Any tips?
Are these 140 mm case fans included with the case quitter than that of the fractal 140 mm fans with the fractal r7 compact?
The fans are magnetic OR simple ?
Assume it's for maybe more modern motherboards as mine is an old b550 msi board
There is also no usb cable to attach to motherboard or is it hiding somewhere attached to the case?
If you've never used rgb chain link fans from be quiet it's very confusing at the beginning.
tastefully done. thank you 👍
Great review.
Can we change the color of the front and inner colors?
I'm trying to get over my pc building anxiety from my newegg experience I had ages ago. Hopefully this time everything works and I don't get stiffed. I made sure I don't use newegg. Bastards.
Great vid!!
Like always, great tutorial..
can we put back the pcie slots after removing them?
Would a RTX 3070 Ti fit in this case sir?
Does it fit x3 140mm fans in the front?
Any way to mount a hard drive with a 360mm front radiator
Thanks for the video!
I built my PC but the LED at the top don't work for me, only those at the front.
Could you know why?
Loved the video, really helped to solidify that this is the case for me. Just one thing, you repeatedly said that it came with 3 140mm silent wings, but the listing for the case says 3 140mm pure wings, has this been changed or was it just a mistake? No bad intent, I'm just trying to get some more info.
Again, awesome video, keep it up!
They’re pure wing fans i dont know if they ever came with silent wings
Michael Mesa the silent Wings come with their more expensive cases.
How do you get the inside rgb strip to light up??
Connect it to PSU through Sata port
Nice! I bought one too.
How did you connect the Front USB Type-C? Does your motherboard have a USB 3.2 Gen2 connector for it?
You need a usb type c connector for it on your mobo, or you could buy an adapter online
