Some Hot Takes: - The best settings or adventures the Ninjas have happen when the focus is not on Ninjago City and its inhabitants or when Ninjago City itself undergoes a radical change (example: the times Ninjago City is conquered or transformed by a Villain) - The Secondary Characters from Season 11 onwards are, in my opinion, more charismatic and with unique quirks/appearances, but they sin by not being recurrent or being trapped in a certain Season (which does not happen with the Secondary Characters before Season 11, who appear every now and then or constantly in other Seasons)
Here’s a hot take of mine. Warning: it is pretty controversial. Cinder is better than Ash. When I say this, I’m primarily talking about the way he utilizes the element of smoke. Because even without shatterspin, Cinder does some crazy stuff with smoke that ash never really did. And tbh, the new elements from season 4 feel quite lackluster and underused, and I’m hoping that dragons rising will reintroduce these season 4 elements and make them better like they did with smoke.
I do have a theory on some of the oni So as we know, the only warlord with four arms was the oni warlord of vengeance, but Garmadon and Lloyd's oni forms have the same amount, what if they are somehow related to that warlord? It could somewhat make sense but at the same time the warlords were the ones who tried going after FSM.. also, fun fact! I've made the oni mask of hatred out of a type of ceramic. Got the hair and everything :)
I have this headcanon: All Oni react to a feeling that makes their power activate and more powerfull (Give them for arms, stoneskin) for example, some oni activate their powers when fell hate, others with vengance... With the feelings that represent the mask like principals, but I think there can be others like greed or pride.

(Pretty long) Hot take: I think elements and elemental masters should only manifest either in regions where it's abundant or through an artifact of some kind that was exposed to the element. This would easily explain certain elements are so similar to the point of basically beign the same (nature/plants, fire/heat, and earth/quakes) while simultaneously allowing for more elements to exist without the tedious task of having to explain why it exists. An example of this I can think of in the show itself: Fire is linked to the sword of fire and allows its user to use fire, since Kai was its user he is now the master of fire- and the reason he can use it is because the power was litteraly integrated in him. Whereas, Wyldfire is the master of heat because she grew up in a n environment that is heavily saturated with heat and fire, allowing her to channel heat as a survival skill.

Chen was way more powerful with the staff of element than being a mid anacondraï I do agree about the DX suits being overrated.

I personally think that Mr.e dying wasn't a bad thing, I think that it was a pretty good scene and showed how ruthless Garmadon could be honestly i was more angry about not getting to know enough about doubloon. 2.i think masters of the mountains is overrated its not just slow but it also feels super repetitive 3.I really like the rebooted suits even though they don't have leg printing i really like them
Hot Take:I don't know if anyone has already mentioned this, but I think Skylor should have become a ninja. She already has a color theme, a weapon (in the sets), and an outfit. I think including her in the main cast would increase female representation in the show besides Nya, as well as exploring the character even more. Remember when they wanted to do a spin-off with female characters? They should have turned this into an episode that would have ended with her learning Spinjtusu and joining the ninjas as well as developing her relationship with Kai better! Yeah, maybe this is just me wanting one of the show's most interesting characters to get more love, because honestly after season 4 it seems like the writers just forget she exists until they find her important to the plot. This wouldn't be a problem if she was a member of the main cast.
@JWP_STUDIOS They managed to find a way with Nya and Pixal, and on the official Ninjago website there is a story focused on her that proves that they can find something to do with the character! Whether that story is Canon is open to debate, but I personally found her to be a very wasted character and I just wish she was explored more, specifically if they want to develop her relationship with Kai, because honestly they interact too little for me to feel like they would make a great couple! Don't get me wrong I love Kailor but compared to Pixzane and Jya, they are the least developed couple on the show and them ending up together in Crystallized kind of felt forced. There's a reason I prefer Pixzane and Jya more than Kailor, it's because these couples took time to develop and we get to see them interact, Skylor almost never appears in the show and that's frustrating.

The idea of the merge might have been the only way Ninjago was saved- since it allowed for a soft reboot and introduction for a lot of new characters and places , whilst getting rid others , without having to do much explanation . This also allowed for a longer, continuing ,slower paced storyline throughout the seasons , rather than the faster paced ,repetitive ideas of the wild brain era.
Hot Take: Zane should have stayed dead after Rebooted. He was essential to Tournament of Elements’ plot and had a good storyline but i don’t think the writers have done anything past that point to justify keeping him in the show. This realization came to me on my recent rewatch of Season 10 which was supposed to be the finale of the Masters of Spinjitzu era. All the ninja got stuff to do EXCEPT ZANE.

1. I think calling it “the final battle” is pointless. The fight is absolutely needed-because despite him going to eventually return due to the balance, allowing him to just run rampant would be destroying the balance too. The green ninja prophecy is the way for the battle to keep it going. 2. I’m going to disagree, although I don’t hate it-it’s still very unappealing. 3. I low-key gotta agree. I am a sucker for romance and do appreciate the arc, as Nya and Jay were having a terribly smooth ride for teenagers developing feelings. It also allowed for Cole and Jay to be able to forge a stronger bond. And I believe this started Nya’s arc of really finding her own position in the world that was continued in season’s five and six. 4. As for Nadakhan, I’ve got to completely disagree. Him forcing Clancy to use wishes like that is showing the abuse of his position in the Sky Pirates’ lives. Clancy always felt out of place amongst his own kind, so much so that even though he never liked the way he treated people (his own words) and being the low man on the totem pole-it was a place for him. You can argue that Nadakhan isn’t a good manipulator, what he has shown to be is a guy who abuses all power he gets and will never be satisfied. He took complete advantage of how Clancy viewed himself and tossed him (along with the other sky pirates) aside when they weren’t needed. Yes, he could have just struck them with the blade, him making Clancy use another wish further shows he doesn’t give a fuck about anyone but himself and Delara.
Hot take: I think the second half of season 2 is as boring as the first half. I always skip season 2 (exept for the last episode) most times I do my rewatch. I don’t like it. It would have been a terrible end to ninjago.
