I can’t help but marvel how far this channel has come in a few weeks. Like, be yourself express your thoughts well, appreciate the art and the work, and suddenly you find yourself with a community of people backing you up. Well deserved ❤
Fun fact for those unaware: In the actual game League of Legends, if you play as Vi wearing her goth ('raccoon' lol) outfit, she has a unique "joke" emote: She sits down on the floor, crying, then overdramatically sobs "Everything reminds me of HER!!" and scarfs down a whole plate of cupcakes. 👀
It's not just because she lost Caitlyn. It's a downward spiral caused by more than a decade of unprocessed mental trauma. Losing her parents, losing Vander and the boys, losing Powder, spending 7 years in Stillwater, being beaten by guards and falling to sleep on a cold floor in solitary while riddled with guilt and desperation with no real hope of ever getting out... Losing Caitlyn, someone she had begun to feel safe and loved with, was merely the final straw. I view the entire "pit fighter"-era as a drawn out suicide attempt. One night she would have downed one bottle too many or went into the pit drunk and faced someone that would have *really* hurt her.
@@rsteen78 It like the psychology of a revolution. You can maintain if everything is just shit all the time. But get a taste of what could be and then rip it away?...It's time to wreck shit.
I think you're absolutely right about that. I had thought about it myself, but I was too fixated on the relationship between Caytlin and Vi that I had completely blocked out the overall circumstances of all the events for myself and hadn't seen the bigger picture at all. Everything that happened to Vi in the past. Also with regard to the events in the following episodes, which I don't want to go into here for spoiler reasons.
Girl goes 90+ minutes and then says"sorry I don't have things to say". Awesome. You are truly a gift to reactions. You have climbed to my top 3 easily. Thank you thank you thank you.
@@lalo77413 I haven't watched their S2 reaction. But they are great. Not So Average Fangirl, FunnyLilGal, & Warped Reactions are in that top 5. Depends on the show. NSAF and ClaudieTV are 1A & 1B for Arcane reactions.
Even after all they've been through, Vi still chooses to let her guard down and trust her sister in front of a bloodthirsty beast. After experiencing the greatest tragedies in their lives and hating each other, there is a spark of light in the midst of the darkness of their tragic lives. Such beautiful usage of symbolism 😥😥
super love that you'll stop, rewind and discus things, arcane is so damn dense it really rewards that kind of attention. also god this ep was a roller coaster. from how deeply, unfairly hot pitfighter vi is to all of the family feels at the end. even after seeing all of arcane this one is in my top 3 eps.
"damn dense": the writers wanted exactly this: dense and packed. They said they wanted to avoid repetition or that the characters say something that was already said or shown and that the viewers had to look at details, listen to the lyrics of the songs and such things, or probably rewatch the show to understand some things.
It's subtle compared to everything else happening in this episode, but the Cait stuff here genuinely feels so important to her character to me and, I think, is a great illustration of one of the key differences between her and Ambessa. In episode 4 we see that Ambessa has assumed the disappearance of Jayce and Heimerdinger is a deliberate attack on her by her mortal enemy, the Black Rose, and she continues to stubbornly believe she's right about everything for months on end without questioning it once, even after her most loyal ally suggests it could be something else In this episode, we also see Caitlyn assume that Singed's summoning of the beast was a deliberate attack on her people by her mortal enemy Jinx... But she doesn't just stubbornly accept that assumption as the truth. She is a detective. She investigates and researches and in less than 24 hours discovers who Singed really is, and that he isn't even from Zaun, he's a Piltovan who has been using the innocent people of the undercity as subjects in his horrible experiments for years. Even Shimmer was a creation he unleashed on them, rather than something made by the people of Zaun themselves. She deliberately faces her own prejudiced thinking and questions everything she thought she knew about the conflict between the two cities And then he explains that all the horrible things he's putting these poor people through were done out of a twisted feeling of love for a deceased family member... just like her this season. And she realizes this is who she could become if she stays on her current path All of season 1, Caitlyn was someone who wanted to seek the truth and then, with that information, do the right thing. It's so nice to really see that again (Plus, she also discovers that Ambessa has been going behind her back all this time to make sketchy deals with scientists like this monster, and probably realizes that these two “allies” of hers have one thing in common, besides their lack of any moral backbone. Namely: They never question the goal they fight for, never prioritize ANYTHING over it… and because of that they are completely alone in this world. They have no family around them anymore. No friends. No lovers. Only soldiers and creatures they use for their own ends, and the people who use them in return)
@@atomka5274Yeah, Cait does some genuinely awful, authoritarian police state things here, but... realistically she's been doing that for maybe like 3 months, compared to Silco's 7 Shimmer-filled years in power or Heimerdinger's botched 200? And she's doing it deeply traumatized in the immediate aftermath of a series of like 6 terrorist attacks against her city, half of which she was a direct victim of and one of which killed her own mother, and almost everything she does is out of an overzealous attempt to prevent further bloodshed. Assuming she comes around in the near future, her actions are... honestly kind of tame in comparison to several other major characters in the show?? And much more tame than I was expecting going into season 2 and especially act 2. I thought she was gonna be a lot worse lol
@@aranthur tame in comparison-> totally. I mean we didn't see her hurt others directly. She had the rifle but never shot anyone to k*ll, just "to scare", even in the fight between Vi-Jinx-Cait-Isha, she shot Jinxs finger, only considered to take the serious damage when she saw Vi could get seriously hurt and then she lost it (and went to the 2nd and 3rd)
A little visual storytelling detail I always like in the scene after Vi and Jinx fight in the cave and Jinx says "Besides, he is your father too" is the change in Vi's body language. Before that, she was always walking behind Jinx, keeping her in her view since she did not trust her. But after that fight/convo, she walked ahead of her for the first time, exposing her back to her sister and showing her a new level of trust. To me, Arcane has always been a character driven show and the studio does an amazing job of packing a ton of character development details visually into these scenes!
48:49 it is the same song. Our Love, season 1 episode 2. 58:44 "Is there anything so undoing as a daughter". Ambessa and Mel, Cassandra and Caitlyn, Silco and Jinx, Vander and Vi, Marus and Ren, Singed and his daughter. Many characters in Arcane are moved or forced to move for the sake of a daughter.
Vi's path of self destruction in the beginning is so very real. She's trying to destroy who she was; she's covered up all her tattoos, her name on her cheek, her neck and back tattoos which are symbols of Zaun because she joined the enforcers, she betrayed everything she had stood for, all for Caitlyn, and then Caitlyn breaks her heart. Its so painful to see how even after that she still cant help but think of Caitlyn and she's trying to drown and cover those feelings. I also love how Vander, the thing that tore the sisters apart is the thing that brings them back together. Never thought i would see a time when Jinx was more mentally stable than Vi.
"10 minutes in and I've been recording for 34" yeah... Pitfighter Vi will do that to you. Vi makes depression spirals look hot lol I don't know how, but every freaking character gets hotter and hotter as the season goes on. Act 3 Cait is just... something else man.
6:36 Uh oh... **Checks to see if anyone is looking** **Turns back to the screen for further analysis** "Oh boy I'm on camera rn, but that did something permanent to my soul" 😂😂😂
Caitlyn finding Ambessa is using Singed for her own aims is i think the final nail of any allegiance she has with Ambessa. As you say, theres no empathy from Ambessa, and the way Caitlyns eyes light up at the mention of love is the sort of thing weve only ever see her do for one other person really. I guess the problem is, with no Mel, Jayce - or more importantly Vi - what can she do? She's a bit trapped at the moment, especially as its implied she's told Maddie to jog on from the guest bedroom. I wonder what the missing piece she needs to be able to finally, properly free herself from Ambessa's influence is.
She also understands herself better. She understands some of the things she did in season 2 act 1 were despicable, but she did them out of love and grief for her mother, but hearing singed say that makes her realize how thats not... a justification, as she cant justify him making warwick and shimmer either.
I love the theme of Arcane. The fact that it's not afraid to show the dark side of each characters meaning to tell us that no matter how good a person is there's always a darker side of them, and also the fact that it's brave enough to show suicidal thoughts and attempts on screen whilst being an animated series is what made it a masterpiece imo (well other than the amazing visual and sound design of course😂). It tends to show these themes while not forgetting that it's an action packed series through and through and the way they all blend these together is beautiful in a way
Don't think of Powder and Jinx as two completely separated person or personality. Basically it's always Powder, but she has psychotic episodes. Jinx is more symbolic, more like an alter ego than an actually separated personality. When Powder says Jinx is dead, she means the symbol, the terrorist, the revolutionary freedom fighter character. It's not a Dr. Jekill and Mr. Hide situation, it's more like a Clark Kent Supermen situation, if that makes sense. Despite the aesthetic change in her face, it's always Powder, or always Jinx, it's just that sometimes she loses control because of her unstable mental state. Vi didn't like Cait, she loved her. Vi opened her hard shell to Caitlyn, and Vi opens up her heart way harder than Cait, she tries to keep her feelings, her heart if you will protected, that's why she took their breakup so brutally hard.
I think Vi lowering her gauntlets if my favorite moment of the show. Obviously the art is beautiful, but so is the message. Vi finally believes in her sister, which heals the main schism between them since they were kids. It also calls back to the first episode of the series when Vander grabs Vi's fist and tells her that they won't solve all her problems. I think its just fantastic that Vi finally taking his advice is what starts repairing her relationship with Jinx/Powder. I really enjoy your reacts, thanks for sharing them. Everytime you stare into the camera, mouth agape, I'm just like, same.
Oh, that was 100% just a sibling rough-house. We had only just seen how deadly Vi was in the ring and there's no way she was going for real damage. The accidental smack to Isha froze them both! You have such a good grasp on Caitlyn it just warms my heart. I love that you called the commenting on the hair!
Knew that family hug is gonna get you, it got me good, the music, the lighting, I was sobbing like a little boy when I first saw it, also the flashbacks were brilliantly written
I love the environmental and design storytelling that happens so subtly. Have you noticed how Silco's young hair has the same bangs that Jinx have now? It implies he's the one who did her hair and that's why and how she got used to having it that way.
7 years in jail: glad to be out but still sassy and focused on her goals now she's free again 7 days with a girlfriend: a hollow shell of a person who drinks far too much and engages in illegal bare-knuckle fights while having hallucinations of the girlfriend
I know the youtube algorithm wants reactors to be screeching and screaming clowns but your deep dive style of analysis is so much more interesting than that. 👍
Vander led a rebellion across the bridge, and the enforcers were defending Piltover. He discussed it with Vi back in season 1 episode 2, I believe But the implication here seems to be that the enforcers escalated to deadly force after Silco started throwing firebombs at them
This episode broke me more than anything else. I tear up just thinking about the ending. Oh, and it's not just the guy from the prison. He was also the first guy that 15 year old Vi decked with Vander's knuckles in episode 3. One-shot uppercut him then too.
When Vi is injured hallucinating in episode 4 and Cailyn calls VI, she hallucinates seeing her mother. In your reaction to episode 4 you pointed this very well in your reaction on episode 4 season one
Caitlyn prohibited the use of the types of cells Vi was put on regularly in the prison and even when she said she will put Singed on one of them she didn't and he was in the same cell he was in when Ambessa talked with him. Caitlyn's own words towards Singed reflects her, she says he is a monster and he is justifying all his horrible actions because of love to his daughter, the same with Cait justifying her actions for the love to her mother. She isn't able to justify her actions anymore, she saw the girl and thought of her mom and also she has a lot of empathy. Caitlyn is in a very dangerous situation, she is in a cage that she put herself into. What Maddie told her about stepping down can't be done and Cait knows it. If she steps down there will only be a new commander, Ambessa and her soldiers will still be there and Caitlyn will be powerless and Piltover can't make them go away without it becoming a fight where a lot of people will die. The only Hextech weapon they have right now is Caitlyns rifle (and VI's gauntlets but she isn't there) and Ambessa's soldiers are experienced warriors. If she removes the enforcers in Zaun right now it is very possible that a lot of people in Zaun will start an attack (rightfully so) and Ambessa will take that as an excuse to attack too and a lot of people will die and Caitlyn doesn't want any of that, so she is trapped. She doesn't trust Ambessa and knows that she is doing things behind her back like freeing Singed, but she can't kill Singed because he is the only one that knows how Warwick/Vander works and Cait doesn't want another Warwick attack, also she knows that if ambessa captures Warwick she will use him against her if she wants to. It's very tricky and Cait is alone. In another topic I almost cried like three different times with al the Vander stuff ❤
26:02 them fighting 😂 was my favorite part of the episode 😆This episode was so good the dynamic between Vi and Jinx is so much fun to watch and I want to see more of them connecting 💔
46:00, Actually, Felicia (Vi and Powder's mother), is voiced by Jeannie Tirado, who also voices a different character in the actual games. When I first heard her voice, I thought that maybe Hallie Steinfeld and Ella Purnell spoke the same lines and Fortiche combined their voices together, so I had to research it online. 54:43, those marks you see on Salo's forehead is where Viktor's fingertips touched him to "cure" him of his affliction. You will see the same marks on everyone who has been touched by Viktor. It's relevant as you will find out in later episodes.
Jinx holds Isha's hand while holding the lighter walking slowly and scared. For me it is a representation of the first scene of the series on the burning bridge and Vi holding Powder's hand while they walk scared on the bridge looking for hers parents
To me at least, the "Jinx is dead" line was more of a hiding from the call to and her expected role in the revolution of the Undercity. She kind of confirms it later as well in my opinion, speaking to Silco about his revolution aspirations now that he is gone: "I've got something going now... A friend"
56:39 - interesting, the moment Viktor in Salo's body basically gets rid of the anomaly and the white stuff around them, so they're back in the room. You can immediately see Jayce's breaths as he is breathing and talking cause it's cold down there. And there's nothing from Salo, I think it shows brilliantly this sort of cold hivemind thing Viktor and all the people he healed/helped are having. Also it's a nice touch, when Viktor came out of the hexcoöre thing that kept him alive, Jayce hugged him and said, you must be cold, because he felt his body and it was cold for sure. But Viktor's reaction is really weird, like cold is almost an alien concept for him.
*To clarify Vi's mental state:* Her parents were killed by topside enforcers when she was a child. A few years later, her adoptive father and her two adoptive brothers died, and she believed that her sister died as well. She was drugged and thrown in prison by a corrupt topside enforcer. In prison, she was regularly beaten and tortured by other corrupt guards and enforcers. She finally gets out of prison...and was freed by a rich topsider and enforcer. Naturally, she's suspicious of her. She returns home and finds that the Last Drop has been taken over by Silco and her sister has adopted the worst qualities that Vi ascribed to her in a moment of weakness and is working for him. She gets stabbed, but Cait, the enforcer, helps her heal. She tries to reconnect with her sister and sees that she's lost it. She then gets separated from her sister. She finally starts to trust Caitlyn, and believes that she's a friend and is different than the other enforcers. They head topside, trying to recruit help to stop Silco. Cait earns Vi's trust even more, and Vi starts to fall for her. The rest of topside reminds her of her original views on topsiders, and that they'll never help out the Undercity. But Cait once again seems to be different and tries to keep fighting. Vi and Cait get kidnapped, and she sees her sister fully lose it. Her sister then commits an act of terrorism. Caitlyn convinces Vi to betray her own principles and join the enforcers, the very people that murdered her parents and tortured her for years. Vi would never do that for anyone else, but she has fallen for Cait and believes that Cait is different. Cait isn't violent or cruel like the rest of them. Cait is the only constant, the only thing Vi has left (now that she's lost her sister), the one thing she can trust and rely on. And then, when things don't go exactly her way, Cait assaults Vi, hitting her with a rifle in the exact same place she had previously helped heal a stab wound. Cait, the one thing Vi had left, confirms (in her mind) everything she had believed about the enforcers-that they're all violent, cruel, brutal, vicious, and corrupt-and then leaves her sobbing in the gutter. And then Cait goes and becomes a dictator, and starts a totalitarian rule over Zaun. Vi has, at this point, lost everything and everyone, and been betrayed by the one person she genuinely trusted and believed in.
the moment I finished this episode this was my favourite of the entire show. then act 3 dropped and things became a bit muddier but I'd say it still is. this one is just SO friggin good
I can't tell you how much I love your smile and reactions and of course your snotty napkin look.❤Please stop as much as you want, we love your analysis.
Great reaction as always! I think Vi was skeptical and bitter rather than jealous. That she was convinced that her sister was "gone", and a bit of a monster. Jinx's actions with Isha in the mine is disabusing her of that perspective I think. Other people have gone over this already, but my main takeaway with Caitlyn and the reveal of Singed's daughter is that after she had believed that Warwick and Singed were just two more "perverse abominations" from Zaun, it turns out that the good doctor is originally an academy alchemist from Piltover and has done abominable things to Zaun in the name of "saving" a loved one. All the while Caitlyn, another individual from Piltover, had been committing terrible acts towards Zaun in the name of avenging her mother. "Why does anyone commit acts others deem unspeakable? For love". I interpret this as the doctor calling Caitlyn out. In a way, he is saying "you're no better than I am". And I think it's where Caitlyn really starts to have doubts about her choices over the last few months. But as others have already mentioned, she's trapped. Vi's gone, Jayce is gone, her mother is gone. She doesn't have anyone to truly help her, unless you count Maddie. The writers have said that they didn't put any focus on Vi and Jinx's biological father because they didn't want to take away from Vander's role as a surrogate father to the viewer. "I've always like the name Violet" absolutely broke me, as did "he's your father too". Incredible scene. Fell free to ignore this, but I will say, pausing every 5 seconds (I know I'm exaggerating, but as a viewer it feels like that sometimes) did get a little aggravating at a few moments. This is very subjective and I know some will really love that, and I get going back to rewatch. But watching for a longer period of time between pauses would make for a better reaction, imo. I do think it can worsen your experience of the show when pausing during a really pivotal moments. But that's me. You do you of course. I really enjoy your observations regardless, and you have a wicked sense of humour :) I hope this came across as constructive. Your pauses admiring Vi are always justified obviously. Can't wait for episode 6 :)
Just heartbreaking when Vi envisioned Caitlyn in the alleyway. Then Vi seeing Cait dancing followed by her screaming was so upsetting, but literally had to stop watching when she imagined Caitlyn lying next to her.....sob : ( Doves represent Peace & Love. Ravens & Crows represent death. Thank you so much for this beautiful reaction/review!
I don't mind you rewatching scenes and then pausing. You can pause as much as you want. I only suggest you don't do it on the first time around. There are certain flows and rhythms to the story and how it interweaves with the music and dialogue that the writers and artist have painstakingly crafted. And when you pause it every 2 second on the first viewing, you lose out on that 'fresh' experience. Maybe pause during major scene shifts and then go back to pause as much as you want to analyze the details. I think that would be best for both your viewing experience as well as your audience.
Haha tbh I usually let it completely play through a second time, what you see on the edit, is usally view 1 and 3 of each scene. Hence why everything takes 3x longer lol
BTW - one of the first shots of people holding betting vouchers in the fighting pit shows what seems to be Jinx's fingers holding one (you can see her quite distinct nails - visible in the reaction video at 06:00) - she's been watching VI.
The parallels from last season to this season. Jinx is now the stable one, and VI is alone and depressed. Starting around the same episode when we saw how far gone Jinx was in season 1. I truly adore this show so much. This was a beautiful episode.
48:42 Can't remember if it's the same song that plays during the scene you're talking about, but it is EXACTLY the same glass and straw. Also, to add fuel to your "throuple" fire, the letter from Vander to Silco from earlier mentions "her". This is most likely her.
After finishing season 2, there are a lot of cinematics from the League of Legends universe that i think it would be interesting for you to react to, like music videos etc, especially the ones that have Arcane characters in it. This universe is pretty massive with years of content like animations, cinematics, music videos, a bunch of games, a metal band and even a K-Pop group! Right now you're just at the tip of the iceberg, there are a lot of lore to discover about Runeterra like different lands such as Noxus (Ambessa's homeland), Demacia, Shurima, Ionia and much more. I'm pretty sure your community can help listing the cinematics you should watch, but i would recommend starting it with "Get Jinxed"!
I think Vi is on her self destructive path also because of the break up, but she is totally lost. Powder was the reason she endured prision, and then Cait showed up, but at the pit fighter emo "kill my liver/numb my senses" phase, she is just spiraling down with no real goal or identity. It is freaking heart breaking (borderline suicidal deep down). But she still looks hot and badass. Soooo mixed feelings
Hope the next one is coming today! Rewatching these cuz I miss daily videos from you. 😢 BDW. One detail in case you missed... Emo Vi's belt is from her enforcer uniform. Probably kept it with her to feel closer to Caitlyn in some way.
Should be, just making sure it uploads ok, as I've been having issues like I mentioned :) Thank you for the fact about the belt, now I can't stop thinking about it lol
I know others might already pointed out this but the scene between Salo and Jayce at the end of this episode, Salo doesn't have breath vapor or steam coming out of his mouth when talking due to cold temp, as oppose to Jayce. Might be implying that he's already dead or doesn't have any life force within him anymore. Love your reaction as usual 👌
It feels like in this act so far, jinx and vi switched places. Jinx is the protagonist with a companion with her and seems more like she has herself together (relative to before) while vi has hit rock bottom. She is the one who reaches out and tries to mend relations in her way. Despite all she has done its impossible not to love her and root for her. Side Note 1: The way Jinx immediately rolls with her hair being pulled and uses that momentum to tackle vi is stuck in my head as one of the weirdly satisfying details of animation in this. Side Note 2: The shot (in two parts) with Jinx pleading "Vi, its him. You have to believe me" has burned itself into my mind.
yea its sad to see VI like this but cause her personality type, she blames herself and this is how she copes, self punishment. You see jinx in the crowd and in the ally where VI has a vision of cait when she looks at the banners, so atleast jinx is looking out for her.
Another brilliant episode & such beautiful you are Claudie.. Ouh gosh next eps totally crush all feelings..yeah I know you watched it😊 When I found your channel it heals me from that impact
Just FYI.. yes that is the same song from Season 1.. same cup as well…. Just happens to be my favorite track from S1…. also two of the best shots in the entire series.. when Vi initially holds Warwick back and when they all hug…. That hug crushed my heart almost as much as S1E3…
This is the third time Vi broke this guys jaw, the first time was in episode 3, he was the first guy on the catwalk during the rescue attempt of Vander, second was the jail.
I love this episode so much, even though personally it does introduce problems within 1x03 - Silco, it implies, would have personally known Vi and Powder as children yet neither he nor the girls show even a flicker of recognition towards each other. There are ways you can kinda of rationalise it, but I can't shake the thought of how much worse it would be now if Silco had addressed Powder by name when he finds her with Vander's body.
Yes I'm with you on this, it was great to see Vander and Silco again, but it ruined Silco a bit as a character in season 1. He didn't seem to mind making 'Vander children' disappear and it is implied there that he was a close friend to their mother who died for his cause...😢
I loved this episode. It's a bit of a relief for Jinx to realize that she didn't actually kill Vander (sort of). Maybe that's why she suddenly recognizes him as "dad", she's been trying to block those feelings all this time... and yeah, I agree with you, this is art. it's become my favorite show and it's one of the best things I've ever seen on tv. music is my favorite aspect of it, even the song lyrics are written to tell a story. thanks for the reaction 😸
35:38 We've always known who invented shimmer, it was revealed since the first episode of season 1 at the end it was this same scientist in episode 1 but he wasn't like this cause it was before Podwer's explosion. But we've always been aware of who invented it also with the flashbacks of Viktor in episode 6.
This series has broken me and my heart, only to put it back together and break it again.... And I still love everything about it. Thanks for the great reaction and your thoughts on the series.
Can't wait to see Caitlyn's lampshade transformation and your reaction to it. 😌 I'm still trying to figure out why Vander actually tried to kill Silco. The most compelling theory I've heard is based on the scenes after 31:00. It might have been Silco who turned a peaceful rally into a fight on the bridge by throwing that molly when the enforcers showed up. The potential love tetragon is also quite interesting. Silco's look at Vander when Felicia tells them about being knocked up. 😂
@ClaudieTV Take your time! Watching your reaction videos give me a deeper appreciation of Arcane, which I already loved but you spot things I miss and I really appreciate it! Thank you!
one thing you might not have noticed was that at the end, you could see Jayce's breath whereas you couldn't with Salo's - he wasn't breathing. Your reactions, btw, are so directly honest and tbh hilarious. meant in the best possible way you remind me of a bunch of gossipy neighbours i've got lol.
@raverdeath100 I think he's breathing. Well, he's talking, so air is moving for sure. The implication is more that Salo's body is so cold that the air that's coming out is not hot enough to be visible in the cold room.
Tbh I've never seen Felicia, Vander and Silco relationship as romantic, always see them more of a friendship or brothership kind of way where all of them just cared about each others
It's Slico who throw the fire grenade to the enforcer that cause the backfire that got Vi & Powder parents killed. Thus, Vander in S1 almost killed Slico. That's the turing point, where they separated. Vander wants to go peace, but Slico wants to do it in more aggressive way.
Mel just protect Jayce, I assumed.😊 That juice cup also showed in S1, when Jinx was in the bar talking to "Chuck", playing the gemstone with the straw..Silco keeps IT..😢 Also, I think the way Vi sees Jinx taking care of Isha, except for jealousy, I guess there might be "Oh, you've changed a lot." or "There's still human in her." That kind of V I B E.
Also, the title: Blister and Bedrock. Just gives me that feeling where they start from nothing and down to earth spirit which is also related to the history of Zaun, miners and all that stuff. Feel really realistic in a way, ain't it.
Loving your reactions and analysis. This is Vi hitting her rock bottom, and still looking glorious, really rocks the black leather trousers and jacket. The sister-on-sister banter is so good, bitch-mittens cracks me up every time. Getting bit really hurts, much more than a random half-hearted punch, so Vi overreacting is understandable. Caitlyn flinched when Ambessa asked what he was trying to cure. That tells me Caitlyn is still human, despite being twisted by grief and self-hatred as evidenced by her glorious Dracula style cape. The art is incredibly stunning, and the end always brings a tear to my eyes. Vander being Vi's father wouldn't surprise me, but I don't know about Silco being Jinx father, he seemed more like a close friend to both Felicia and Vander. Hope you get well soon.
2:43 thats also the guy from season one who Vi first fights when she tries to rescue Vander and tge guy Jinx accidently shot in the beginning of 1x4 on the air balloon
Sadly, both Cait and Vi decided to drown their sorrows in Scotch
F***ing hell hahahhaha
Ok, that's brilliant. Nice one XD
STOP
Wow ok. You won 😂😂
LMAO
7:09 "Is that what she had under that jacket the entire time?"
Control Claudie, control 😅
Personally, you could pause and analyze every single frame and I'm here for it.
Your analysis is better than anyone else I've seen
Ah thank you so much haha
I can’t help but marvel how far this channel has come in a few weeks. Like, be yourself express your thoughts well, appreciate the art and the work, and suddenly you find yourself with a community of people backing you up. Well deserved ❤
Thank you so much! yeah it is kinda mental huh haha! Really moving fast, so close to 1k!
Fun fact for those unaware:
In the actual game League of Legends, if you play as Vi wearing her goth ('raccoon' lol) outfit, she has a unique "joke" emote: She sits down on the floor, crying, then overdramatically sobs "Everything reminds me of HER!!" and scarfs down a whole plate of cupcakes. 👀
OMG really that's hilarious
That is interesting, I think you're right. It's like she almost wanted it to finish her off
@@rsteen78 It like the psychology of a revolution.
Ví broke his jaw 3 TIMES now😅😂😂😂
she's that mans sleep paralysis demon and it's hilarious
It gets better. His name is 'Lock'
Seeing the reveal of Vi hugging Vander/Warwick absolutely crushed me.
"remarkably attractive and yet really sad at the same time" couldn't have put it better myself 😂
😂👌
What’re you waiting for? He’s your dad too.” Absolutely destroys me everytime😭
Broke Me. Honestly
Girl goes 90+ minutes and then says"sorry I don't have things to say". Awesome. You are truly a gift to reactions. You have climbed to my top 3 easily. Thank you thank you thank you.
Hahaha thank you so much! I do tend to do that don't I! Give an hour and half then go, 'nope...nothing more to add' lol
Agreed easily top 3 but just out of curiosity, who are the other two on your list? I'm assuming Semblance of Sanity is the other one?
The fact she listened to Jinx, not Powder really, Jinx, threw me so off at first
@ClaudieTV And that hug....I cried so hard before even realising why it was hitting me that hard
"to let her guard down": helps Vander to recognize her because he knows her for "blocking with her face"
super love that you'll stop, rewind and discus things, arcane is so damn dense it really rewards that kind of attention.
also god this ep was a roller coaster. from how deeply, unfairly hot pitfighter vi is to all of the family feels at the end. even after seeing all of arcane this one is in my top 3 eps.
Yup this is in my top 3 I think
"damn dense": the writers wanted exactly this: dense and packed. They said they wanted to avoid repetition or that the characters say something that was already said or shown and that the viewers had to look at details, listen to the lyrics of the songs and such things, or probably rewatch the show to understand some things.
It's subtle compared to everything else happening in this episode, but the Cait stuff here genuinely feels so important to her character to me and, I think, is a great illustration of one of the key differences between her and Ambessa. In episode 4 we see that Ambessa has assumed the disappearance of Jayce and Heimerdinger is a deliberate attack on her by her mortal enemy, the Black Rose, and she continues to stubbornly believe she's right about everything for months on end without questioning it once, even after her most loyal ally suggests it could be something else
In this episode, we also see Caitlyn assume that Singed's summoning of the beast was a deliberate attack on her people by her mortal enemy Jinx... She deliberately faces her own prejudiced thinking and questions everything she thought she knew about the conflict between the two cities
And then he explains that all the horrible things he's putting these poor people through were done out of a twisted feeling of love for a deceased family member... just like her this season. And she realizes this is who she could become if she stays on her current path
All of season 1, Caitlyn was someone who wanted to seek the truth and then, with that information, do the right thing. It's so nice to really see that again
(Plus, she also discovers that Ambessa has been going behind her back all this time to make sketchy deals with scientists like this monster, and probably realizes that these two “allies” of hers have one thing in common, besides their lack of any moral backbone. Namely: They never question the goal they fight for, never prioritize ANYTHING over it… and because of that they are completely alone in this world. They have no family around them anymore. No friends. No lovers. Only soldiers and creatures they use for their own ends, and the people who use them in return)
yes! she's not evil, she's just grieving and has bad coping mechanism, but the smart detective is still there
@@atomka5274Yeah, Cait does some genuinely awful, authoritarian police state things here, but... realistically she's been doing that for maybe like 3 months, compared to Silco's 7 Shimmer-filled years in power or Heimerdinger's botched 200?
Caitlyn being like "ambessa! General! Nice to see you here in singed's lab! How curious"
@@aranthurand she keeps questioning everytime ambessa pushes sonething too far, like with rictus instigating violence
"I'm trying not to cry too much..."
*immediately sees Isha join the group hug and totally breaks down*
My friend, we're ALL crying now!!
Hahaha the timing on that was mental haha
A little visual storytelling detail I always like in the scene after Vi and Jinx fight in the cave and Jinx says "Besides, he is your father too" is the change in Vi's body language. Before that, she was always walking behind Jinx, keeping her in her view since she did not trust her. But after that fight/convo, she walked ahead of her for the first time, exposing her back to her sister and showing her a new level of trust. To me, Arcane has always been a character driven show and the studio does an amazing job of packing a ton of character development details visually into these scenes!
Fun Fact, in League of Legends Jinx CONSTANTLY calls Vi "Fat Hands" if a jinx encounters a Vi they'll say "Come and get me, FAT HANDS"
Yeah I'm looking forward to Cait haha
ur reaction at 6:38 is so real lmaoo
😳
As the middle child of 3, the sibling bickering is on POINT
Haha yeah they really are 3 sisters now haha
6:36
Uh oh...
**Checks to see if anyone is looking**
**Turns back to the screen for further analysis**
"Oh boy I'm on camera rn, but that did something permanent to my soul" 😂😂😂
🤣
Your reaction to Vi's goth look is just infinitely entertaining 🤣
I think Vi lowering her gauntlets if my favorite moment of the show. Obviously the art is beautiful, but so is the message. Vi finally believes in her sister, which heals the main schism between them since they were kids. It also calls back to the first episode of the series when Vander grabs Vi's fist and tells her that they won't solve all her problems. I think its just fantastic that Vi finally taking his advice is what starts repairing her relationship with Jinx/Powder.
I really enjoy your reacts, thanks for sharing them. Everytime you stare into the camera, mouth agape, I'm just like, same.
Yeah, that is very symbolic! Thank you for the kind words by the way!
Yeah that's what I think too! Thank you for the kind words too :)
Don't apologize for pausing too many times, your deep frame by frame analysis is what I look forward to most.
Cool cool
.3 seconds after Vi reveal *jaw on floor*
Oh, it's going to be a good one!
She looks so good with black hair though... I really do prefer it haha
@@ClaudieTV So does the Internet.😉 You've got A LOT of fun on social media to catch up on once you've finished the show!!
Omg can't stop laughing... "90 minutes I've been watched this..." A few seconds later "Oh ffs footsteps clinking slowly? what now?!"
😂 I was so done man... I was like what could possibly happen now
Can even say how much I'm loving these reactions and analises , so many details I missed , love it❤
Glad you liked it 🥰
Knew that family hug is gonna get you, it got me good, the music, the lighting, I was sobbing like a little boy when I first saw it, also the flashbacks were brilliantly written
I love the environmental and design storytelling that happens so subtly.
Have you noticed how Silco's young hair has the same bangs that Jinx have now? It implies he's the one who did her hair and that's why and how she got used to having it that way.
Yes, I noticed that. Hence why I said the girls look like each of them, Vander and Silco, so clever
7 years in jail: glad to be out but still sassy and focused on her goals now she's free again
7 days with a girlfriend: a hollow shell of a person who drinks far too much and engages in illegal bare-knuckle fights while having hallucinations of the girlfriend
So true lol
I know the youtube algorithm wants reactors to be screeching and screaming clowns but your deep dive style of analysis is so much more interesting than that. 👍
Ah thank you so much!
Vander led a rebellion across the bridge, and the enforcers were defending Piltover. He discussed it with Vi back in season 1 episode 2, I believe
But the implication here seems to be that the enforcers escalated to deadly force after Silco started throwing firebombs at them
Yes that's what I thought too, but this ep seemed to insinuate something even further maybe
This episode broke me more than anything else. I tear up just thinking about the ending.
Oh, and it's not just the guy from the prison. He was also the first guy that 15 year old Vi decked with Vander's knuckles in episode 3. One-shot uppercut him then too.
Oh yes of course, thank you for reminding me
When Vi is injured hallucinating in episode 4 and Cailyn calls VI, she hallucinates seeing her mother.
Ah thank you for those pointers! Really cool!
Sleep a while and wake up in midnight is such a gift.😂😂
Jinx holds Isha's hand while holding the lighter walking slowly and scared. For me it is a representation of the first scene of the series on the burning bridge and Vi holding Powder's hand while they walk scared on the bridge looking for hers parents
Your videos are the only things I look forward to every day.
That's very sweet to hear, I hope you're ok. Hope you enjoyed the video
"What are waiting for.... He's your dad too"
I bawled
So sad we're already halfway through, I really love your long reactions
They'll be more vids from me, about Arcane and other things too haha, I'm not going anywhere :)
@@ClaudieTV Good to read
47:10 Well, Vi literally saw her mother in Cait in s1e6... :D
You said Count Caitula, and I immediately pictured Count Duckula in Caitlyns' little skirt ensemble.
Thanks for THAT 😂
That's not the name the caitvi fandom have created for that look! It's pretty funny.
To me at least, the "Jinx is dead" line was more of a hiding from the call to and her expected role in the revolution of the Undercity.
She kind of confirms it later as well in my opinion, speaking to Silco about his revolution aspirations now that he is gone: "I've got something going now... A friend"
I loved it, can't wait your next reaction :)
Great to hear :)
OMG yess! 😏
Jinx went hard with those comebacks this episode
She's so witty lol
Good catch! Hadn't noticed the breath thing but yes
*To clarify Vi's mental state:*
Her parents were killed by topside enforcers when she was a child.
Snotty napkin look? Lol, that's a new one
Yes, it is said by Vander in the he first Season, he did the attack on Piltover (with Silco ofc)
After second season act 2 ends I just thought that only something 'fantastic' has to happen to uplift/restore our senses
Just heartbreaking when Vi envisioned Caitlyn in the alleyway. Then Vi seeing Cait dancing followed by her screaming was so upsetting, but literally had to stop watching when she imagined Caitlyn lying next to her.....sob : (
Doves represent Peace & Love.
Ravens & Crows represent death.
Thank you so much for this beautiful reaction/review!
Thank you so much for your kind words! And yes imaging Caitlyn is heartbreaking
Ah yeah, man, that's so clever
9:48, thank you for speaking on behalf of all of us...
Happy to be of service, Sir hahaha
The parallels from last season to this season. Jinx is now the stable one, and VI is alone and depressed. Starting around the same episode when we saw how far gone Jinx was in season 1. I truly adore this show so much. This was a beautiful episode.
Yeah there's so many connections like that to S1, so clever
48:42 Can't remember if it's the same song that plays during the scene you're talking about, but it is EXACTLY the same glass and straw. Also, to add fuel to your "throuple" fire, the letter from Vander to Silco from earlier mentions "her". This is most likely her.
Every reaction is a try not to simp challenge 😂
Yeah I'm going to do a community post and ask people to comment more arcane stuff to watch!
Yeah it's so sad, but she looks awesome, it's so conflicting
min 5: "She looks fantastic!"
oh yeah, she looks so fucking fantastic
Hope the next one is coming today! Rewatching these cuz I miss daily videos from you. 😢
BDW. One detail in case you missed... Emo Vi's belt is from her enforcer uniform. Probably kept it with her to feel closer to Caitlyn in some way.
Should be, just making sure it uploads ok, as I've been having issues like I mentioned :)
Thank you for the fact about the belt, now I can't stop thinking about it lol
"WhIcH oNe" SMALL SIBLING BULLSHIT Ví is the only DAMN moral character in the entirety of the show
🤣
I know others might already pointed out this but the scene between Salo and Jayce at the end of this episode, Salo doesn't have breath vapor or steam coming out of his mouth when talking due to cold temp, as oppose to Jayce. Might be implying that he's already dead or doesn't have any life force within him anymore.
Love your reaction as usual 👌
Yeah such a cool detail! And thank you so much 🥰
It feels like in this act so far, jinx and vi switched places.
Yes Jinx does seem the protagonist in this, to the point it feels like Powder, not Jinx, like it's someone else. Isha's effect on her
yea its sad to see VI like this but cause her personality type, she blames herself and this is how she copes, self punishment. You see jinx in the crowd and in the ally where VI has a vision of cait when she looks at the banners, so atleast jinx is looking out for her.
Another brilliant episode & such beautiful you are Claudie.. Ouh gosh next eps totally crush all feelings..yeah I know you watched it😊
When I found your channel it heals me from that impact
Ah thank you so much! Glad you loved it!
Just FYI.. yes that is the same song from Season 1.. same cup as well…. Just happens to be my favorite track from S1…. also two of the best shots in the entire series.. when Vi initially holds Warwick back and when they all hug…. That hug crushed my heart almost as much as S1E3…
Ah it is the same song, I thought I was right but I just didn't want to pounce on it you know! Yes that hug was unexpected to say the least!
I love the small detail of being able to see Jayce’s breath, but not Salo’s.
Yeah it did throw me off a bit, but we'll never really know what went down between them. Or maybe we will lol, I havent finished yet haha
AH yeah that's a good point actually!
And you're more than welcome :)
Damn I missed Salo was looking like that for that 1 sec. Kinda crazy how many details there are
Yeah it scared the life out of me lol
I truly believe arcane is an advertisement for league of legends.😂 And it worked on me
I know had no interest in the game before lol
35:38 We've always known who invented shimmer, it was revealed since the first episode of season 1 at the end it was this same scientist in episode 1 but he wasn't like this cause it was before Podwer's explosion. But we've always been aware of who invented it also with the flashbacks of Viktor in episode 6.
Yes, but to see it sort of clarified by Caitlyn sort of added this extra layer of it to me
1:00:26 OMG this is so spot on Caitlyn 😂
This series has broken me and my heart, only to put it back together and break it again.... And I still love everything about it. Thanks for the great reaction and your thoughts on the series.
Same here, and you're more than welcome
Can't wait to see Caitlyn's lampshade transformation and your reaction to it. 😌 I'm still trying to figure out why Vander actually tried to kill Silco. The most compelling theory I've heard is based on the scenes after 31:00. It might have been Silco who turned a peaceful rally into a fight on the bridge by throwing that molly when the enforcers showed up. The potential love tetragon is also quite interesting. Silco's look at Vander when Felicia tells them about being knocked up. 😂
Yes it is peculiar isn't it I'm trying to figure that out too haha
I’m dying to see your Ep6 reaction, I hope it’s coming out soon!
It's on its way, just making sure I'm not running into copyright issues, so just taking a bit longer
@ClaudieTV Take your time! Watching your reaction videos give me a deeper appreciation of Arcane, which I already loved but you spot things I miss and I really appreciate it! Thank you!
@@colinerven All good haha! It's on its way for sure haha! 2x06 is a great episode too
Pit fighter VI got me feeling A LOT of things, what a reveal 😊
Yeah damn good huh? haha

Random youtuber with pause and rewind buttons:
🤣
one thing you might not have noticed was that at the end, you could see Jayce's breath whereas you couldn't with Salo's - he wasn't breathing.
Your reactions, btw, are so directly honest and tbh hilarious. meant in the best possible way you remind me of a bunch of gossipy neighbours i've got lol.
Yes someone else also pointed that out! I hadn't noticed at the time
@raverdeath100 I think he's breathing. Well, he's talking, so air is moving for sure. The implication is more that Salo's body is so cold that the air that's coming out is not hot enough to be visible in the cold room.
36:20 I thought the same thing while watching but never saw anybody mention it. Glad i wasnt the only one
Right haha I really thought it was her for a fraction of a second
I don't think Vi's reactions to Jinx and Isha is jealousy as much as regret. She is seeing what she always wanted, but couldn't have.
True, maybe that is a better word. I just think in some ways she wishes she had a big sister to take care of her back in the day
I also think it's her realising how much Jinx has changed
Tbh I've never seen Felicia, Vander and Silco relationship as romantic, always see them more of a friendship or brothership kind of way where all of them just cared about each others
1:00:31 Well, you're quite the foreshadower aren't you?
It's Slico who throw the fire grenade to the enforcer that cause the backfire that got Vi & Powder parents killed. Thus, Vander in S1 almost killed Slico.
That's the turing point, where they separated. Vander wants to go peace, but Slico wants to do it in more aggressive way.
Mel just protect Jayce, I assumed.😊
That juice cup also showed in S1, when Jinx was in the bar talking to "Chuck", playing the gemstone with the straw..Silco keeps IT..😢
Also, I think the way Vi sees Jinx taking care of Isha, except for jealousy, I guess there might be "Oh, you've changed a lot." or "There's still human in her." That kind of V I B E.
And who doesn't love toxic HOT Vi. Oh, sheesh, like don't we all love drama and toxic lol .
Almost cleared up now! So 99% of the way there :)
This was an amazing ep, so many twists to it, and yes bitch mittens cracked me up to lol
Yeah, this was their way of reiterating in case we missed it, Vi is indeed a "Brick Shithouse." And I think I love her even more 😅
does anyone know when Claudie is posting ep 6? I need my daily dose
It's coming, just making sure I'm editing it properly to not have copyright issues lol
2:43 thats also the guy from season one who Vi first fights when she tries to rescue Vander and tge guy Jinx accidently shot in the beginning of 1x4 on the air balloon
