Just because I love the parallels between Jinx and Caitlyn: Both of them lost a parent (Vander and Cassandra) and felt guilt because of it Both of them pushed Vi away in anger when they felt betrayed by her ("She is NOT my sister anymore" & "It's her blood in your veins") Both were then taken in by a new parental figure who manipulated them in their grief to suit their cause (Silco & Ambessa) Both became consumed by anger and grief and committed various heinous acts (Jinx Season 1 & Cait Season 2) and BOTH my blue haired shooters betrayed their pseudo parental figures because of their love for Vi! (Jinx shooting Silco to save Vi & Caitlyn betraying Ambessa to save Vander) I just love this show so much.
It's funny how everyone attributes Caitlyn turning on Ambessa to Vi calling her a cupcake, like she just did an 180 turn right there. Caitlyn's had approximately six months to let her rage settle and calm down after everything that happened. And she's not stupid, she knows exactly who Ambessa is and what she's doing. Meeting Vi was definitely a turning point, but only because she was now ready to come back to a more true version of herself. She would have moved against Ambessa eventually even if she hadn't met Vi.
"It's funny" I think that's genuinely why everyone attributes it all to "cupcake". We all know it was just that last push she needed in a long line of events, but there's something so funny about the idea that Cait is some kind of lesbian sleeper agent activated by the word "cupcake" lol

I have seen the second season many times now with many different reaction channels but yours are easily among my favourite videos. I have to say, I really love the care the creators put into the hand-to-hand fighting in this show. They genuinely made my day with the throw that Ambessa executes on Caitlyn and later Caitlyn repeats on Vi -- it's a fun Judo throw called harai goshi / "sweeping hip throw" (or a similar variant, it's a bit hard to see the exact details). Additionally, the way Caitlyn chokes out Singed is also legit (a rear naked choke) and Singed even reasonably attempts to defend it! (Love your reactions, I'm looking forward to rewatching Act 3 with you!)

I'm in my 40s....never watched anime or played any video games in the last 30 years. I'm about as obsessed with this show as you are WTF is going on? Just goes to show how wonderful written and crafted the show is and I hope other showrunners take a leaf out of their book.
I read a statement from another commentor on a different reaction channel that Jinx named the little girl "Isha" because her (Powder's and Vi's) mother's name was Felicia, and "Isha" "Fell" onto Jinx. Therefore, Isha fell onto Jinx, hence Fell=Isha= Felicia. Jinx winked at Rictus as in a "Guess who, that's right it's me!" gesture. You've probably already seen it by now, but in the next act pay close attention to the lyrics of the song that plays when Jinx is on the screen.

The fight scenes are so incredible for the way they show women getting truly down and dirty. There are no "pretty" moves. Its realistically messy, bloody, and gritty.
Jinx knew the plan and knew Caitlyn was an ally, cause the only person that make sense Vi tell "Vander is in danger, i have a plan, but you don't gonna like it" is Jinx. Cait don't know who Vander is and already knew "the beast" was in danger, so it couldn't be Cait, but only Jinx. So yeah, Jinx protected Caitlyn, cause Vi told her to do it

You posted early so I can rewatch many times before my normal bed time. lol This episode is my peak in whole series. Emotion packed with fury, manic, humor and grief. Somehow I know that everything that goes well now will eventually turns bad. But still, it HURTS like bloody hell.

In all fairness it already won that award for its first season and Fallout had the advantage because it was on its first season as well, plus you could argue that in terms of being an “adaptation” Fallout is more accurate to its source material.

Although Arcane vs LoL works both ways, in that not only does Riot's gaming division benefit from the show and adapt things in the game (not just skins and new champions, but also the lore and voice lines), but Arcane on the other hand also takes many details of the game champions seriously and adapts them very well (for example, leveling up to the ultimate weapons or the time bomb thing...).

Man... as soon as I saw the lil montage of isha grabbing those gemstones, there was this ominous feeling the entire watch cuz that just lingered at the back of my mind and then it happened, there was just so much anger, arcane truly does a great thing showing the mentality of children growing up in an environment that rewires your brain and gives you ptsd around every corner which is hard to fathom for lots, fully grasp actions and motivations of people, of these characters, it's gut wrenching seeing a 6yo happy to blow themselves up cuz it means protecting their lil fam, her everything essentially, just uff, the ending sequence makes me cry every time without fault...
During Isha’s memories you can see Jinx’s eyes briefly turn back to blue for a few frames. Even now it hurts to watch and imagine what could have been.
People tell you that they can't wait for your reaction to act 2 but the truth is I can't wait for your reaction to the episode _ I won't say the number but I think that reaction video will be two hours longer hahaha...

Sticky Viky! I love the smell of coffee, but not when its literally in my nose. I love the detail you pointed out about how Caitlyn didnt flinch. It definitely seems like a subconscious tell that she is "on mission". There's some weird group of i guess now former fans that genuinely seem to think that Vi saying cupcake was what caused Caitlyn to turn on Ambessa. I don't know why they apply such remedial analysis to this show when its obviously capable of so much more. Hell Caitlyn even explicitly argues with Ambessa in ep4 so its not even all subtextual. I also think people focus too much on Caitlyn's response instead of thinking about what motivated Vi to say cupcake. I read it as an offer of reconciliation. I think Vi offers it so freely because she, of course, has a good heart. More importantly though, I think its because she had just received the same offer from Jinx in the prior episode and she saw how that led to something good instead of more fighting.
You are very thorough, you get so many details the others reactors didn't, like the 'one condition' joke, the spit wiping, also the one where Vi said : she got plan and you didn't like it, not much who get that Vi said it to Jinx not Caitlyn, so yeah love it that you catch almost everything
Isha's final act was made so much harder by the animators doing such an incredible job with her. Probably my favourite character in terms of the animation. Non verbal, but so expressive.
Jinx: Insults Viktor Viktor: Immediately deadnames her Also...Cait, looking at the family hugging: "THESE are my in-laws?!" Alright, now to be actually serious: Viktor's last line of the episode is a brilliantly written line, but it's also a deeply flawed sentiment. "It's inescapable. Humanity. That which inspires us to our greatest good is also the cause of our greatest evil." In other words, humanity might inspire incredible good, but it also causes the worst evils of the world. In essence: humanity is the problem. However, the flaw in this sentiment is the fact that it can be easily reversed: That which inspires us to our greatest evil is also the cause of our greatest good. While the greatest evils of mankind come from humanity, so does its greatest goodness. Also, fun bit of community context: After this act came out, everybody online was changing their profile pictures to be a picture of Jayce, either crossed out in red, covered with a yellow question mark, or covered with a big green checkmark (AKA Jayce was wrong, undecided, or Jayce had his reasons and was right). This then developed into a bunch of other ridiculous profile pictures, such as Jayce covered in the gay pride flag, Jayce dressed as Santa, and Jayce with a positive pregnancy test.
I didn’t really care for Isha because I knew she was a plot device the minute she was introduced. She also interrupted some important Jinx/Vi moments. Having said that, her being the Powder archetype and finally having Powder save the day was a new interpretation I had never seen and I love that.
They can't be happy for more than 5 seconds I swear to god!! Im glad you picked up the tension Cait and Vi had in the tent scene, a lot of people dont pick up those details jajaja, they like some weird stuff they were almost roleplaying😂, they cant fool me, just because Ambessa was there, if not they wont get out of that tent 🤦 A detail that I like a lot is that when Vi calls Cait a mongoose she gets offended and wants to have the last word, she doesnt like to lose in a conversation but Cait always have been socially awkward and she is not very good with words or with nicknames so you can se how she is strugling to come up with an "insult". If you look at Vi's face when Cait says ""your hair" Vi turns away and she looks like she feels shame or she is prepering for a real insult or something like that because Vi knows that she changed all her look because she was trying to not be herself, but when Cait says "angry oil slick" she just smiles because it is so absurd and she finds it funny "don't sugarcoat it"

Isha poor little baby... that montage, she was doing it happily, thinking of her happy memories with Jinx, and the creators just crushed us with that. And your analysis at 1:02:36 was spot on. I hope you noticed that at 57:56, right after Vi gets cut and screams, Caitlyn immediately runs to Vi even though Jinx just brushes past her shoulder at the same time. It’s subtle, but as viewers we can already see that Caitlyn has chosen her love for Vi over her hatred for Jinx at this point. Now that you're heading into Act 3, beware, the pacing is faster, specially in episodes 8 and 9. You might have to pause a lot to take everything in.
Did you notice that Salo was not breathing? You can see Jace's breath in the cold air, but not with Salo, he was not breathing! Also during the scenes in the battle raccoon arena, one of the hands that raises a betting slip (with Vi's symbol on it) looks very much like Jinx's hand.
Yes, Ambessa is really built. And in Caitlyn and Ambessa sparring, one can see that Ambessa has a clear superiority. However Caitlyn is a good student of Ambessa's lessons. When Ambessa gives the principles of combat, Caitlyn responds, "Too much force exposes you to risk" and Ambessa gives a fourth principle that heightens the others, sacrifice. Ambessa says because Caitlyn understands this, they are kin.(and where is Mel) Hopefully these lessons will serve her well.
This ep gave us a glimpse of what caitvi’s bedroom adventures look like… Handcuffs ✅ Blindfold ✅ Spitting ✅ Role playing ✅ Just please find an empty bedroom already… Anytime you say fantastic my brain goes 🎶 fucking fantastic 🎶 like clockwork (iykyk) You calling out Cait making a fuss abt Vi’s hair last ep was gold. I never saw this coming. wny? I was invested in the characters.... I was invested in FICTIONAL characters.... I was emotionally attached to fictional characters b/c the writers masterfully weaved in empathy. You know, Isha really pulled Powder out of Jinx; even for a brief moment. With all the chaotic voices in Jinx's head, they are all silenced by a character who is silent.
When I knew this episode was coming up I knew it was gonna be a dichotomy of feeling, the elation of the reunion versus how things turned out at the end with I won’t spoil in case, but I do figure that everyone watched prior, but yeah, it’s a very hard hit emotionally lol.
One of the few details you didn't discuss, but my favorite in this episode: when Ishi triggers her triple-Hextech shot, after the blast washes over Isha and Vander, there's a blink-and-you-miss-it shot of Vi putting herself between Jinx and the blast and shielding Jinx with her body. Even hemorrhaging from an abdominal slash, Vi just can't _not_ protect her.
On my first watch of this I said oh look, Caitlyn hates Vi's hair. 😂 Glad I'm not the only one who noticed she'd say something. I can't wait to see your reaction to Act 3. No doubt about it, they'll be the longest reactions yet.
I'm gonna save my opinion for the season as a whole for the end, but all I'll say is that I'm really looking forward to you reacting to the next episode.
If Riot do another Bridging the Rift episodes for S2 and include some of the viewers reaction in the documentary the same way what they did for S1, I won't be surprised if they include your channel. Imagine Amanda saying "and this CaitVi scene that I wrote" then your reaction flashes for a few seconds. I would be there!
yeah, this episode is a bit of a killer. the thing i take from this is that Isha, unlike Powder in ep3, knew exactly what she was doing, the finger gun to Jinx shows that... beautiful, little fat hero that she is.
Ok, so you didnt appear to talk about a really crucial part i tnink. Ambessa says 'the one who captured Caitlyn's heart'. So she knows that Vi and Caitlyn are a thing, and that they need to be kept apart (Caitlyn being distracted - the second they reconnect its all over for Ambessa). Thats all fine, however she says something else interesting. "That left a void i was able to fill." What void was that? The context is Vi capturing Caitlyn's heart. Amebssa hasnt filled the void in Caitlyn's heart that Vi created, so what can she mean by this? How did she fill that void?
I did notice that but didn't want to dwell on it. I don't know what she meant by it. I just think Cait was hooked on Vi and Ambessa wanted her hooked on her ideas and prosperity. What do you think though, something else?
@ClaudieTV trying to keep this spoiler free, but you did have suspicious thougts earler ... so what has been trying and failing to fill Caitlyns heart? What has literally been trying to keep Caitlyn's thoughts away from Vi? Keep her distracted, but in a different way that is to Ambessa's advantage? You've mentioned before about how Caitlyn's romance language is through touch. Can you recall an instance where someone has been trying (and failing) to do the same thing, whilst also trying to convince caitlyn that she is actually still in charge of everything - whilst doing that very same touching tactic at every suggestion? Someone who, perhaps, may have helped Caitlyn make up her mind to join Ambessa back in Episode 3? Just something to ponder.
And just add - Ambessa knows it's imperative that Vi is kept away from Caitlyn if her plan is to go. Makes you wonder how complacent she became in not suspecting the ploy sooner - but she does catch on pretty quick.

I have to say, I really love the care the creators put into the hand-to-hand fighting in this show. They genuinely made my day with the throw that Ambessa executes on Caitlyn and later Caitlyn repeats on Vi -- it's a fun Judo throw called harai goshi / "sweeping hip throw" (or a similar variant, it's a bit hard to see the exact details). Additionally, the way Caitlyn chokes out Singed is also legit (a rear naked choke) and Singed even reasonably attempts to defend it!

I read a statement from another commentor on a different reaction channel that Jinx named the little girl "Isha" because her (Powder's and Vi's) mother's name was Felicia, and "Isha" "Fell" onto Jinx. Therefore, Isha fell onto Jinx, hence Fell=Isha= Felicia.
Jinx winked at Rictus as in a "Guess who, that's right it's me!" gesture.
You've probably already seen it by now, but in the next act pay close attention to the lyrics of the song that plays when Jinx is on the screen.

Jinx knew the plan and knew Caitlyn was an ally, cause the only person that make sense Vi tell "Vander is in danger, i have a plan, but you don't gonna like it" is Jinx. Cait don't know who Vander is and already knew "the beast" was in danger, so it couldn't be Cait, but only Jinx.
So yeah, Jinx protected Caitlyn, cause Vi told her to do it

In all fairness it already won that award for its first season and Fallout had the advantage because it was on its first season as well, plus you could argue that in terms of being an “adaptation” Fallout is more accurate to its source material.

Man... as soon as I saw the lil montage of isha grabbing those gemstones, there was this ominous feeling the entire watch cuz that just lingered at the back of my mind and then it happened, there was just so much anger, arcane truly does a great thing showing the mentality of children growing up in an environment that rewires your brain and gives you ptsd around every corner which is hard to fathom for lots, fully grasp actions and motivations of people, of these characters, it's gut wrenching seeing a 6yo happy to blow themselves up cuz it means protecting their lil fam, her everything essentially, just uff, the ending sequence makes me cry every time without fault...
Yup this scene got to me more than any other!

During Isha’s memories you can see Jinx’s eyes briefly turn back to blue for a few frames. Even now it hurts to watch and imagine what could have been.
It actually also happens as Vi is pulling Jinx away, there's about 3 frames where Jinxs eyes are back to blue.

I love the detail you pointed out about how Caitlyn didnt flinch. It definitely seems like a subconscious tell that she is "on mission". There's some weird group of i guess now former fans that genuinely seem to think that Vi saying cupcake was what caused Caitlyn to turn on Ambessa. I don't know why they apply such remedial analysis to this show when its obviously capable of so much more. Hell Caitlyn even explicitly argues with Ambessa in ep4 so its not even all subtextual.
I also think people focus too much on Caitlyn's response instead of thinking about what motivated Vi to say cupcake. I read it as an offer of reconciliation. I think Vi offers it so freely because she, of course, has a good heart. More importantly though, I think its because she had just received the same offer from Jinx in the prior episode and she saw how that led to something good instead of more fighting.
You are very thorough, you get so many details the others reactors didn't, like the 'one condition' joke, the spit wiping, also the one where Vi said : she got plan and you didn't like it, not much who get that Vi said it to Jinx not Caitlyn, so yeah love it that you catch almost everything

Isha's final act was made so much harder by the animators doing such an incredible job with her. Probably my favourite character in terms of the animation. Non verbal, but so expressive.

Alright, now to be actually serious: Viktor's last line of the episode is a brilliantly written line, but it's also a deeply flawed sentiment. "It's inescapable. Humanity. That which inspires us to our greatest good is also the cause of our greatest evil." In other words, humanity might inspire incredible good, but it also causes the worst evils of the world. In essence: humanity is the problem. However, the flaw in this sentiment is the fact that it can be easily reversed: That which inspires us to our greatest evil is also the cause of our greatest good. While the greatest evils of mankind come from humanity, so does its greatest goodness.
Also, fun bit of community context: After this act came out, everybody online was changing their profile pictures to be a picture of Jayce, either crossed out in red, covered with a yellow question mark, or covered with a big green checkmark (AKA Jayce was wrong, undecided, or Jayce had his reasons and was right). This then developed into a bunch of other ridiculous profile pictures, such as Jayce covered in the gay pride flag, Jayce dressed as Santa, and Jayce with a positive pregnancy test.
Ah I didn't know that about the Jayce thing haha! That's crazy!
I didn’t really care for Isha because I knew she was a plot device the minute she was introduced. She also interrupted some important Jinx/Vi moments.
Having said that, her being the Powder archetype and finally having Powder save the day was a new interpretation I had never seen and I love that.

Im glad you picked up the tension Cait and Vi had in the tent scene, a lot of people dont pick up those details jajaja, they like some weird stuff they were almost roleplaying😂, they cant fool me, just because Ambessa was there, if not they wont get out of that tent 🤦
A detail that I like a lot is that when Vi calls Cait a mongoose she gets offended and wants to have the last word, she doesnt like to lose in a conversation but Cait always have been socially awkward and she is not very good with words or with nicknames so you can se how she is strugling to come up with an "insult". If you look at Vi's face when Cait says ""your hair" Vi turns away and she looks like she feels shame or she is prepering for a real insult or something like that because Vi knows that she changed all her look because she was trying to not be herself, but when Cait says "angry oil slick" she just smiles because it is so absurd and she finds it funny "don't sugarcoat it"

Isha poor little baby... that montage, she was doing it happily, thinking of her happy memories with Jinx, and the creators just crushed us with that. And your analysis at 1:02:36 was spot on.
I hope you noticed that at 57:56, right after Vi gets cut and screams, Caitlyn immediately runs to Vi even though Jinx just brushes past her shoulder at the same time. It’s subtle, but as viewers we can already see that Caitlyn has chosen her love for Vi over her hatred for Jinx at this point.
Now that you're heading into Act 3, beware, the pacing is faster, specially in episodes 8 and 9. You might have to pause a lot to take everything in.

Yes, Ambessa is really built. And in Caitlyn and Ambessa sparring, one can see that Ambessa has a clear superiority. However Caitlyn is a good student of Ambessa's lessons. When Ambessa gives the principles of combat, Caitlyn responds, "Too much force exposes you to risk" and Ambessa gives a fourth principle that heightens the others, sacrifice. Ambessa says because Caitlyn understands this, they are kin.(and where is Mel) Hopefully these lessons will serve her well.
This ep gave us a glimpse of what caitvi’s bedroom adventures look like…

wny? I was invested in the characters.... I was invested in FICTIONAL characters.... I was emotionally attached to fictional characters b/c the writers masterfully weaved in empathy.
You know, Isha really pulled Powder out of Jinx; even for a brief moment.
With all the chaotic voices in Jinx's head, they are all silenced by a character who is silent.
When I knew this episode was coming up I knew it was gonna be a dichotomy of feeling, the elation of the reunion versus how things turned out at the end with I won’t spoil in case, but I do figure that everyone watched prior, but yeah, it’s a very hard hit emotionally lol.
Also add oil slick, mongoose, SLOP, Matilda, to the many Caitlyn-isms
One of the few details you didn't discuss, but my favorite in this episode: when Ishi triggers her triple-Hextech shot, after the blast washes over Isha and Vander, there's a blink-and-you-miss-it shot of Vi putting herself between Jinx and the blast and shielding Jinx with her body. Even hemorrhaging from an abdominal slash, Vi just can't _not_ protect her.

Ok, so you didnt appear to talk about a really crucial part i tnink.
Ambessa says 'the one who captured Caitlyn's heart'. So she knows that Vi and Caitlyn are a thing, and that they need to be kept apart (Caitlyn being distracted - the second they reconnect its all over for Ambessa). Thats all fine, however she says something else interesting.
"That left a void i was able to fill." What void was that? The context is Vi capturing Caitlyn's heart. Amebssa hasnt filled the void in Caitlyn's heart that Vi created, so what can she mean by this?
How did she fill that void?
I did notice that but didn't want to dwell on it. I don't know what she meant by it. I just think Cait was hooked on Vi and Ambessa wanted her hooked on her ideas and prosperity. What do you think though, something else?
@ClaudieTV trying to keep this spoiler free, but you did have suspicious thougts earler ... so what has been trying and failing to fill Caitlyns heart? What has literally been trying to keep Caitlyn's thoughts away from Vi? Keep her distracted, but in a different way that is to Ambessa's advantage?
You've mentioned before about how Caitlyn's romance language is through touch. Can you recall an instance where someone has been trying (and failing) to do the same thing, whilst also trying to convince caitlyn that she is actually still in charge of everything - whilst doing that very same touching tactic at every suggestion?
Someone who, perhaps, may have helped Caitlyn make up her mind to join Ambessa back in Episode 3?
Just something to ponder.
And just add - Ambessa knows it's imperative that Vi is kept away from Caitlyn if her plan is to go. Makes you wonder how complacent she became in not suspecting the ploy sooner - but she does catch on pretty quick.
