This. THIS is their best song. You can say that Only In Dreams is greatest or The Greatest Man That Ever Lived is the best but nothing and I mean NOTHING will top this. This is Rivers peak at lyricism, guitar composition and song composition in general. It goes through so many changes that its insane. I think I’m pretty fucking confident in saying if Pinkerton was their Masterpiece, then this is their magnum opus of songwriting.
i forget what its called but R.E.M. used the same device on "stand," same with the Ramones on "I want to be sedated." it adds a lot of character to all those songs.
They already knew the song was coming. Rivers started it but played the wrong 2nd chord, stopped and said "oops, that's not good." Then he restarted it. This video starts right after that moment. Seriously.
I think this song, rather than 'No Other One,' should have been on Pinkerton. Sequenced right before 'Butterfly' as the ninth track on the record. It would have made Pinkerton just as perfect as Blue, though in a completely different way.
Christy Smith the main reason why it wasn't on pinkerton, was because weezer recorded this song on their final sessions and almost completely forgot about this song. Rivers remembered that they made the song when pinkerton was being rereleased in a deluxe version and found the recording and put it on the record.
Yep, haha. I'm "anoobiestopsign". Only 80ish posts though, I don't frequent it that often. Anyway, I like your taste. Tragic girl might be my favorite off of Pinkerton.
Im disappointed that no one applauded as the song got started. Such a great neglected song.
I mean I can appreciate that I don’t have to hear a bunch of people screaming over a good song
There was like 2 woos to the left lol
it was so good they wanted to hear it!!! 🙀
getting that sad feeling knowing I'll probably never see my favorite song live, this is deluxe Pinkerton weezer may never play it again
Sophie L this was the first time they ever played it live
I'm like that with mykel & carli
Look up songs from the black hole
@@stewalters2011 mykel and carli is so underrated. it was the first weezer song i ever had on repeat
@@ok_jaja if you know pinkerton deluxe and not know songs from black hole you fucked up

And it didn’t even make the album :(
@@oakoe188 technically it did with pinkerton deluxe
also nice pfp
It's in my top 3 fs. Still got The Angel and the One at #1
Only in dreams is better, but this one hits me in the heart more
Subjectivity is a thing. I get why it is the best for you, though. It's right on top for me, but i like Only In Dreams and The Good Life just as much.
I think Pinkerton deluxe might have the best b sides out of all the weezer albums
True
most definitely
yeah cause they made TWO perfect albums in 1995. Weezer was on their shit.
Make believe although it is a pretty mid album has some really good demos, like the demo for this is such a pity is way better than the final song
Wait til they release the green album/maladroit demos
my favorite part is where you are singing really loudly
There’s always someone
aww, i think it's cute. I would've done it as well. Someone else loves this song just like I do :)
That key change in the song is so freaking epic!
i forget what its called but R.E.M. used the same device on "stand," same with the Ramones on "I want to be sedated." it adds a lot of character to all those songs.
holy sweet goddamn,,,,,, my heart breaks 1000 times at 3:47 when rivers sings "...but you're so pretty and I feel sorry"
Kyley I see what you did there with the holy sweet goddamn :,)
Holy cow I think you got a point there
They already knew the song was coming. Rivers started it but played the wrong 2nd chord, stopped and said "oops, that's not good." Then he restarted it. This video starts right after that moment. Seriously.
Man I love this song Pinkerton was the best album ever and this missing gem is like going into a time machine
loved the singing coming from behind the camera :) I would've done the same
3:50 That alternate melody is great. kinda wish it was on the recording...
Rivers' voice sounds amazing here
One on my fav weezer songs. Love it with all my heart, such underrated
Everyone is complaining about that guy on the drums but he's not missing a beat
Anthony Clarkson Pat is a pretty good drummer
@@AJS12001 Pat's actually not on the drums here, you can see him playing guitar on the right at points.
@@typalmer6850 Didn't even catch that
It’s Josh Freese. He’s a great drummer
@@Paul-dw2cl He's a great drummer, but there isn't much feel in his play. Almost like a human drum machine
Rivers voice is so damn perfect on this boat

Christy Smith You're not wrong, but there ain't no way I'm listening to Pinkerton without No Other One

Rivers remembered that they made the song when pinkerton was being rereleased in a deluxe version and found the recording and put it on the record.
Not only that, but during that point in time Weezer would only fucking specifically put ten tracks on their albums.
tbh this doesn't belong on any part of pinkerton. it's pretty mediocre compared to the rest of the album
Komrade 🤔
Good job filming this and Devotion. Hopefully we get more clips from the indoor shows but if not, ya done good.
You lucky bastard! It must've been amazing...
He tried his darndest to be
I don't know if I'm getting the chills from my fever or from this video...
NO ONE TOUCHES ME LIKE U DO 💔💯
Haha, okay, I know you. Thanks mate. And yeah, Tragic Girl is perfection.
brian bell my love
Her camera cut off at the best part of the song.
Yep, haha. I'm "anoobiestopsign". Only 80ish posts though, I don't frequent it that often. Anyway, I like your taste. Tragic girl might be my favorite off of Pinkerton.
pinkerton deluxe, aka the deluxe version that has all of the B-sides that should've been on the original album
thank you so much. This is amazing.
Haha, yeah that was me. Small world.
I meant the deluxe version of Pinkerton.
0:05 Why are people not losing their goddamn minds in the front row?!
thanks heaps bro
Ha. Looking at your name, and some live performances you youtube, do you have a muselive acount?
Hey didn't you post a Sylvia cover on /mu/ about a week ago? lol.
Oh, I see.
@TheGreatGatsby1991 It's the best!
This is getting freaky, I'm a regular on ML haha. Does the name StartOver95 sound familiar at all?
Who’s on drums, no way that’s Pat?
Josh Freese! He now plays with foo fighters but freaking killed it during his time with the weez
Tragic Girl wasn't on Pinkerton.
DamnedGamers its the deluxe version
should have been
wish it was
