    Although Tu-204-100 look likes Boeing 757-200, they have nothing in common, except appearance.
    When the Tupolev design bureau begun to develope a project of two engines liner to replace Tu-154, they made Tu-204.
    This scheme of aircraft, with two big PS-90A engines, placed under the wing, is more efficience, than with engines in the tail of fuselage. Aircraft has advanced airfoils and winglets since development study (first half of 80-s).
    Tu-204-100 has "fly-by-wire" flight control system with emergency mechanical control:
    1) Three independent channel of main digital "fly-by-wire" flight control system (autopilot/autoland; pitch autotrim (by horisontal stabilizer); digital yaw/ roll/ pitch dampers; automatic limiting of bank/pitch/ yaw angle; automatic limiting of angle of attack; autoslats mode for leading edge; automatic limiting of overspeed and more e.t.c....);
    2) Three independent channel of alternate analogue "fly-by-wire" flight control system (roll/pitch/yaw);
    3) One independent emergency "fly-by-wire" flight control system (roll/pitch/yaw);
    4) Emergency mechanical control system, which does not require computers or electrical power. Just pilot hands and hydraulic power. In that case, pilots have control of spoilers (roll mode), elevators and stabilizer (pitch) and rudder (yaw) by emergency control cables and hydraulic actuators.
    Tu-204 has two fully interchangeable independent channels of braking system with antiskid and autobrakes, and two independent channels of nose wheel steering system.
    Trailing edge (flaps control system) equipped with automatic correction mode to extend or retract flaps, according to speed changes.
    Aircraft has three independent hydraulic systems with engine driven pumps and alternate elecrical driven pumps in each hyd system. Emergency hyd power consist of ram air turbine, which automatically or manually (by button) extends to air in case of failure of both engines.
    Fuel and air condition systems have full automatic control.
    Fuel system has a ballast tank (tank # 3), placed in vertical stabilizer. This tank # 3 uses for balancing in the flight. In that case, fuel from wings tanks (tanks # 1 LH/RH) by fuel pumps transfers to ballast tank for displacement center of gravity more to tail. It allows increase lift to drag ratio by using stabilizer as a wing (positive lift).
    As a usual, Tu-204 has friendly cockpit interface (convenience installation of systems control panels), and, of course, "glass cockpit".
    Engines take-off trust - 2X16000 kgf. Max payload 21000 kg. Capacity : 175 passengers in three class, or 210 in full economy class. Range 4000...7500 km, depending of payload.
    Sorry for many words and for my english :).
    With best regards to All :).

    Very good trip report. Interesting that they made a downwind departure. The plane appeared to be light and there seemed to be plenty of runway but you don't see that very often.

    Of course it's not a copy of a Boeing 757, the Soviets would never copy a Western aircraft, nah never.

  • @bobbypaluga4346
    @bobbypaluga4346 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    "First introduced in 1989, it is intended to be broadly equivalent to the Boeing 757 introduced in 1981, with slightly lower range and payload" it's a copy of the 757 as everyone has known for 20+ years, the Ruskies have been copying since the B-29, they just haven't had the high bypass engines and computerized technology, i.e.: the very crude Concordski. It's no sweat arguing the question, patents meant nothing to the USSR. Even the MIG fighters that were blowing USAF.props out of the air in the Korean conflict used copies of British aviation jet engines, that were sold to the USSR. Not one of the brightest moves by our friendly allies.

    • @Waldenmattfinish
      @Waldenmattfinish 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes but they needed the money to repay the war debt to the US. Not that the US gave them any $ for radar or the jet engine.
