There is/was a rescued 747 200 at Pinal Airpark. If you need parts, contact a dismantlers, who is stripping one. You get large assemblies in bulk. No namby pamby.
Videos like this are what make TH-cam good. So glad you didn't't give up and that you are continuing to restore an amazing piece of history for future generations to enjoy!
I too am so glad I chose not to sell the cockpit and give up. This is going to be a fantastic simulator when complete, and like you say, will keep the history of the 747 classic alive for many generations to come. Thank you so much for your support!
holy i thought u died! im restoring a 1975 Volvo 242 with my dad right now, trust me there are a lot of times ive thought of selling it but im very happy i didnt. restoring something always comes with setbacks but please just dont give up. im really excited to see how this will turn out!
Ha ha, no I'm still here, alive and well! Wow, what a fantastic project, I wish you the very best of luck with that. Don't worry, I won't be getting rid of the cockpit. I was quick to take the listing down as deep down inside, I knew I never wanted to get rid of it - I just didn't want it sitting outside, collecting dust and rusting away. But now, I'm back and I'm in contact with a group of classic airliner cockpit builders - two of which are working on 747-300s which has an almost identical cockpit to mine. So with this support and shared knowledge, the project will be complete! Thank you so much for watching :)
One of my best friends is an aeronautical engineer, who is in charge of all the technical and structural parts of the project. He came and personally inspected the window last week, and unfortunately it is too far gone, so it will need replacing sadly.
@@Fan-sky No problem at all. I'm so sorry for leaving such a long gap. Life events got in the way, but I'm back with help from many other aviation enthusiasts and even a friend of mine who's an aeronautical engineer, so we'll have this project complete soon!
The cockpit cost me around £7,000, but with the missing instrumentation on top of that, I think it would be roughly £10,000. Surprisingly cheap for a 747 cockpit. Many go for at least 14K and some even more :)
This is awesome. My initial jet and airliner was the B747-2/300/SP. I also flew the -200 Combi. The only thing I don’t recognise is the FMC on the centre console. In my time we only ever had 3x INS. Keep up the great work - REALLY impressive!
@@gregalanharper Wow, that's fantastic. My favourite aircraft ever are 747 classics, the ones you mentioned above plus the -100. What were these aircraft like to fly? Yes, the FMC is in the centre console just for now. It must be said, I am going to use FMCs instead of INS for the two pilots, but the centre console will still have the original INS, much like most retrofitted 747 classics back in the 1990s. I really appreciate your comment, thank you so much for watching and stay tuned for more! 😃
Oh dear, there's always one isn't there. A couple of things to mention quickly, if you weren't so ignorant, and actually watched the last two videos I've uploaded since this one, you'll see restoration is already going ahead rapidly - so make sure you understand the definition of clickbait before you comment 😆 So I tell you what, when this is complete, let's see if you have the guts to come back and admit you're wrong, because we both know you wont. Have a fantastic day 😃

Me too! This project will be completed, I'm absolutely determined :)

Thank you so much - the support really means a lot to myself and the team!
Refer to the MM for limitations for delamination of the F/O windshield...could be with limits

Wondering how much did the cockpit cost?

What is it going to run on? Xplane Felis 747?
Absolutely! 😃
Wonderful! Glad you didnt sell it.
Me too. Stay tuned for more next week!
will this 747 fly or is it not airworthy
This is just the cockpit section. The rest of the plane was scrapped on November 2023 :)
Take a little look at the video before this one - part 5. There you'll see the exterior of the cockpit! 😃

Let's be honest, you will NEVER be going to restore that wreck. This is just bait to keep some believers clicking in your videos.
