The plane looks in a very good conditions. How many Russian aircrafts have you heard they have crashed, while Boeing aircraft’s have all sort of accident in recent times.
Well, there have been 2 fatal crashes and 1 serious incident involving a B737. However, given the number and the use they have, it is still very, very low. Plus, if you compare to russian aircraft, the sole fire of that Sukhoi Superjet already represents what, the loss of the 0,5% of all the planes they have made since 1995?
There are lots of accidents with russian aircraft recently, especially that there are very low numbers of them flying at all. Boeing and airbus dominate the air travel by far. russia only makes low quality dangerous analogovnet planes and services them carelessly.
Only prejudiced people criticize Russian planes. Russian planes are being praised around the world. At Boeing, for example, distrust about the quality of its planes has been growing. I've been traveling by plane since I was a child, but I don't have the courage to fly on new Boeing planes.
It's one of only 4. The Russian government operates a fleet of more than 10 of these aircraft for official duty. Furthermore, the plane has been brought back into serial commercial production. Russian airlines have been forced to support local aircraft manufacturers due to the sanctions.
I flew with my film crew in a Tupolev 204 of Cubana de Aviacion. Our experience was much better than the horrible experience we had flying with AA American Airline. The food on this airline was rubbish and the in-flight service with rude staff was a real nightmare.
I've only flown on Russian aircraft twice on my life. On Air Koryo in 2012. First flight was Beijing - Pyongyang. It was brand new. Pride of the fleet. The second flight was Pyongyang - Shenyang. It was old and rattled so bad I thought it was going to fail apart..
Хороший самолёт. Давно на нем летал из Москвы в Крым. Самые надёжные русские самолёты это Ильюшин. Сейчас начала возрождение гражданского авиастроения в России 🇷🇺 спустя 35 лет.
Havana - Madrid is now with Plus Ultra A330/340. I don’t think Cubana has a TCO for Europe at the moment thus they wont fly there. The IL96 in the beginning of the video was recorded in Caracas the week after we arrived (flew CU312/3). It flies the same route/flights as this Tupolev unfortunately the booking system always shows TU204 so it’s really a surprise which one will actually operate the flight on the day itself. Maybe if you get insider info as Cubana does know which aircraft will fly the next week, otherwise it’s just luck😅 Best of luck I hope you manage to get on the IL96❤️
Interesting video. Thanks for sharing. It feels as though you and your partner went into this journey with the intent of finding flaws - and actually you didn’t find that many … maybe try approaching life and situations with less bias and patronising attitudes? Delays? Happen anywhere in the world, notwithstanding Cuba 🇨🇺 is literally sanctioned therefore making everything complicated and limited The internal of the plane - looked very clean and professional. Windowless seats - they exist on most planes when it’s over the wing - due to the construction of the plane. I’ve had a windowless seat on a Boeing airplane. It’s no big deal because I get it- it’s a structural issue 🤷🏾♂️ The seat recliner- it’s as though you had to make a joke out of it… rather than just appreciate that the seat reclines. The forward recline is probably ideal for cleaning purposes and refitting upholstery - it’s actually quite an interesting idea, worth celebrating, not ridiculing 🤷🏾♂️ (but gotta ridicule Russian engineering somehow eh? Or else how you going to get western audiences to fill up on Russia-hate)🤷🏾♂️ Overall it looks like you had a nice trip, and safe flight, thank God for that! A good video, but filled with subtle dog whistles aimed at ridiculing Cuba and Russia - which simply reflects western biases and stereotypes of Russia and Cuba.
We travelled with Cubana before as we said and well that wasn’t the best experience neither the worst though😄 but yes we were a little apprehensive about flying Cubana again since the company does not have a good reputation. Never the less we enjoyed our flight and we believe its worth noting that and we also try to show that (Good Legroom, Friendly Crew, generally we were very happy as we told at the end also). We are aware that many airplanes have some rows without windows (I have seen it on Ryanairs B737s) we just wanted to point that out so people who would like to fly on this Tupolev avoid choosing these rows as that info is hard to find. The seat recline is amazing and we were just surprised how much those reclined I have never seen such a good recline in Economy 😱 neither seats that recline forward (not sure if there is a specific reason for that ?). We have no intent to ridicule any country and we tried to show that actually we had a great experience, unlike many vloggers who find drama on every flight which we could easily have done also instead we try to show the positive experience we had.
@@DiscoverWithTwo i appreciate your response, and now I understand a bit more. Cuba 🇨🇺 is such a unique example of a country and infrastructure due to the fact that they’ve literally been condemned to sanctions by the west (at the command of America), consequently they are not able to develop as much as they could if they have a free international trade opportunities. It’s my perspective that everything about Cuba needs to be seen through the lens of historical context 🤷🏾♂️… And frankly for a country that has been sanctioned for decades, you seem to have had a decent flight. I completely understand your comments now, but I’m very conscious of the fact that we are living in times where it’s the “trend” to make digs at “anything” Russian 🇷🇺 - there will be audiences to your videos who are there waiting for “digs” and “attacks”… it’s not your fault obviously, we are simply living in some unprecedented xenophobic times! We are induced to hate and demonise other people for political reasons 🤷🏾♂️ - tragic Anyway… all of this aside, it was a great video! And it looks like Cubana did a decent job getting you from Cuba to Venezuela! Hope you had a great remainder of your trip and holiday! 👋😎 ciao

2:09 It seems that American Airlines have a shuttle service between Havana and Miami. The Tupolev 204 looks pretty much like the Boeing 757. 9:34 "No tirar papeles en el inodoro. Gracias" stands for "Please do not throw paper on the sink, thank you." Although I believe they are referring to the toilet bowl rather than to the sink? The plane was empty. Government ruled airline and the financial loss is paid by the Cuban taxpayers.
There are alot of Miami to Havana flights. I wish the countries relationships would improve Thank you for translating I thought It was something with throwing paper but wasn’t very sure😆
Title makes no sense. Sanctions don't have any affect or jurisdiction on fully domestic Russian built airplanes/products. This particular Tu-204 just came back to Cuba from Russia after undergoing a thorough D check. Cubans are resourceful and highly educated people, these airplanes are well looked after. Sanctions/embargo/economic warfare (all the same) only harm citizens, not govt elite. They don't work and are just cowardly tactics of empire. I'm a first gen Cuban-American. My view and much of our family's view has changed 180 degrees on US policy towards Cuba. Venezuela is actually very safe now a days as most of the gangs, criminals and prisons have been emptied out and sent across the open US southern border. Night and day compared to 6/7 years ago.
and what about the boeing 737 max ... i think its brandnew and higher in thecnologies than tupolev but this is masterpiece ..... love to russia from morocco
the planes fly almost empty, I would like to fly somewhere but the price of travel and tickets is very high for me, well, there are probably more people like that and that's why the planes fly empty 🙂
Around 250€ one way (definitely not the cheapest), I do think that return fares are almost the same price and thus a better value(also more chance to fly on both the IL96 and TU204)
These soviet planes are not the worst planes on earth! I personally like them because of rich history and ear pleasuring sounds! Crazy cockpit and beautiful design! Not many airlines use them because there are airbus and boeing on the first line! Only asia and a mini part of Europe had or has them. 😊. These planes are getting modernized with years and months. You cannot compare these planes with airbus boeing or embraer, of course. But for simple flights without luxury or silence, they are good.❤ Sorry for my english skills 😂
Russia is accessible!!! Russia DIDN'T close the borders for the EU unlike the EU which have closed its borders for us. People from the EU can enter Russia with e-visa what you can obtain in internet in just 4 days. Or you can easily reach Russia by land via Finland. I adore vlogers who tell to the people wrong things, this is that case.

The plane looks in a very good conditions. How many Russian aircrafts have you heard they have crashed, while Boeing aircraft’s have all sort of accident in recent times.
It is in good condition, at least seats were very good✈️
Well, there have been 2 fatal crashes and 1 serious incident involving a B737.
@@avngr3218 🤐
Only prejudiced people criticize Russian planes. Russian planes are being praised around the world. At Boeing, for example, distrust about the quality of its planes has been growing. I've been traveling by plane since I was a child, but I don't have the courage to fly on new Boeing planes.
I call this airplane The “Airbus B757”
🤣
Explain is very good 👍🏻
Thank you❤️
Nice plane, but nicer girl
Is it an empty flight? So many seats available. Beautiful aircraft!
It was a normal scheduled flight but I believe only 60 seats were occupied.
good video ..the TU204 is a good jet ..like the 767 ..Cubana too ..i like Cuba .. 😉🤙
It's one of only 4. The Russian government operates a fleet of more than 10 of these aircraft for official duty. Furthermore, the plane has been brought back into serial commercial production. Russian airlines have been forced to support local aircraft manufacturers due to the sanctions.
Flew on a Malev Hungarian Tupolev in 1972 from vienna to Budapest. A few months later they had to ground them due to about 3 crashes.
These were likely older Tupolev Models 134/154. I don’t think these still fly😁
A clever move, as it's -pointless to fly for a 220 km trip.
🤡
Nice plane
Очень красивая девушка !!!
Russia is a blessed country and great intelligent Russians.
I flew with my film crew in a Tupolev 204 of Cubana de Aviacion. Our experience was much better than the horrible experience we had flying with AA American Airline. The food on this airline was rubbish and the in-flight service with rude staff was a real nightmare.
We didn’t say it was a bad experience. Our previous flight on the IL96 was not great but our ride on the Tupolev was pretty good😎
Man, I dream of flying on a nearly empty flight.
Im sure there are plenty outside the peak season😅
It looks just like any other airplane ✈️
Indeed😎
I've only flown on Russian aircraft twice on my life. On Air Koryo in 2012. First flight was Beijing - Pyongyang. It was brand new. Pride of the fleet. The second flight was Pyongyang - Shenyang. It was old and rattled so bad I thought it was going to fail apart..
Do you remember which aircraft types they were? I imagine the new one being also a Tupolev 204
@@DiscoverWithTwo I'm not sure, but I'm guessing it's the same aircraft they use now, 12 years later.
@@chrism1102 I think North Korea has many russian airplanes still, must have been an interesting experience 😨
@@DiscoverWithTwo According to Wikipedia Air Koryo has the TU-204 and AN-148. I think it was those 2 that I flew on.
@@chrism1102 I believe during those years they had some older planes also probably Tupolev 134/154 must have been interesting to visit N Korea😱

Flying on a sanctioned Russian tupolev airplane from Cuba Venezuelan Airlines bus
Some versions have RB-211s and with the 43k thrust rating.
I think this one has Aviadvigatel engines but not sure🤔
Some 5 or 6 were made for Cairo Aviation with RB-211 engines. The rest of the planes have Aviadvigatel PS-90 engines.
Safer than a Boeing
Plane looks to me like a B737-800. It is a modern vehicle with its peculiarities of course.
Nice video! I would love to fly their IL96! Do you know on what route they use this type?
Havanna - Madrid
@@udos4640you sure? When I check FR24 is has no flightdata or the only flightdata available is with a A340 from PlusUltra
@@DiscoverWithTwo Thank you very much for the clear explanation! Sounds like a real challenge to get to fly on one😅
@GMaviation Its not hard to get to fly on either of them (TU204/IL96) just if you wanted one specifically it might be a problem😅 Goodluck!
Interesting video. Thanks for sharing.
It feels as though you and your partner went into this journey with the intent of finding flaws - and actually you didn’t find that many … maybe try approaching life and situations with less bias and patronising attitudes?
Delays? Happen anywhere in the world, notwithstanding Cuba 🇨🇺 is literally sanctioned therefore making everything complicated and limited
The internal of the plane - looked very clean and professional.
Windowless seats - they exist on most planes when it’s over the wing - due to the construction of the plane. I’ve had a windowless seat on a Boeing airplane. It’s no big deal because I get it- it’s a structural issue 🤷🏾♂️
The seat recliner- it’s as though you had to make a joke out of it… rather than just appreciate that the seat reclines. The forward recline is probably ideal for cleaning purposes and refitting upholstery - it’s actually quite an interesting idea, worth celebrating, not ridiculing 🤷🏾♂️ (but gotta ridicule Russian engineering somehow eh? Or else how you going to get western audiences to fill up on Russia-hate)🤷🏾♂️
Overall it looks like you had a nice trip, and safe flight, thank God for that!
It’s my perspective that everything about Cuba needs to be seen through the lens of historical context 🤷🏾♂️…
And frankly for a country that has been sanctioned for decades, you seem to have had a decent flight.
We are induced to hate and demonise other people for political reasons 🤷🏾♂️ - tragic
Anyway… all of this aside, it was a great video! And it looks like Cubana did a decent job getting you from Cuba to Venezuela!
Hope you had a great remainder of your trip and holiday! 👋😎 ciao
@@MU-ee9ro We actually try to visit these countries that are seen as the “black sheeps” by some of the western countries such as Venezuela, Cuba, Yemen, … and they all are enjoyable to visit and we try to show that they are nice to visit😍

I wish the countries relationships would improve

The Russian 757?
Seem more comfort seat compare to economy class by boeing nor airbus
Night and day compared to 6/7 years ago.
interesant
Thank you☺️
and what about the boeing 737 max ... i think its brandnew and higher in thecnologies than tupolev but this is masterpiece ..... love to russia from morocco
Empty flight. But Cubana doesn't care about profit anyway.
the planes fly almost empty, I would like to fly somewhere but the price of travel and tickets is very high for me, well, there are probably more people like that and that's why the planes fly empty 🙂

How much did it cost?
Around 250€ one way (definitely not the cheapest), I do think that return fares are almost the same price and thus a better value(also more chance to fly on both the IL96 and TU204)

These soviet planes are not the worst planes on earth! I personally like them because of rich history and ear pleasuring sounds! Crazy cockpit and beautiful design! Not many airlines use them because there are airbus and boeing on the first line! Only asia and a mini part of Europe had or has them. 😊. These planes are getting modernized with years and months. You cannot compare these planes with airbus boeing or embraer, of course. But for simple flights without luxury or silence, they are good.❤

Russia is accessible!!! Russia DIDN'T close the borders for the EU unlike the EU which have closed its borders for us. People from the EU can enter Russia with e-visa what you can obtain in internet in just 4 days.
