Fun fact of today's Mili song:
"Though it may hurt today, tomorrow I'll be heading my way" is just a fancy way of saying "that's that and this is this", the motto and life philosophy of the character this song is about... All of project moon games happen in the same place, The City, the dystopia to end all dystopias, and of course to survive a place like that, one has to often close the mind and silence the heart, just to be able to barely cling to sanity and life for one more day... our character in question is no different, crushed under the weight of the cycle of suffering The City ingrains in their people's souls. And that phrase... is the only form of escapism he was able to learn

@@toes7209I will point out that Ruina was once like Limbus, because PM basically updated the game chapter by chapter until they created a finished product. So you're kinda comparing Apples to Oranges.

What made Gone Angels so impactful was how it was delivered to the player. After a long and grueling fight with Roland this song hits you in the last phase and boy does it hit hard with how Symbolic it is to Rolands anger and melancholy towards Angela and the entire City.

Yes! Library of Ruina is the 'second' game in the Project Moon's game series, a direct sequel to Lobotomy Corporation, the company's first game product!
Highly recommend the whole album from Mili regarding their tracks to Library of Ruina; To Kill A Living Book. Many of these tracks are played during Boss Fights, similar to their usage in Limbus Company, and they tend to greatly increase the impact of the experience of those engagements! Since they didn't start collaborating together either until Library of Ruina, you won't hear any of their work in Lobotomy Corporation, but that game does have at least 2 tracks that are it's most well known of throughout the fanbase of this company's games; First & Second Warning's.
The game also has an emphasis on it's usage of the Piano & Violin in much of it's soundtracks, so there's significance to there only being a Piano playing here. The story to their games have some great narratives to them, amazing characters and naturally the well accompanied music behind it all. I really hope they're able to continue delivery such great works of art in the future.
My favorite part is that the only instrument is a piano, which is the instrument of the character whose theme this is.
I mean its true that the piano is Roland's theme instrument but dam that's so messed up when you think about it......a piano is probably the instrument he hates the most

Library of ruina is a prequel to Limbus Company and the OST also slaps since both games share the same composers with Mili handling the vocal tracks and Studio EIM handling the sound only OST.
Really looking forward to Library of ruina reactions! the game has a amazing soundtrack and i hope we also get to see non Mili tracks from the game here on the chanel! like "Roland Realization theme" and others.
Also i'm still to meet someone who played the game and listened to this track in game and didn't at least tear up lol and by the way Project Moon official channel videos with the song actually have subtitles to make it easier to follow the lyrics

tho the major connections of the history of both games happen in the manga "leviathan", vergilius (or the red glare) had an orphanage which was destroyed by purple tear and tomerry after the events of library of ruina. After that there is a whole lot of other weird stuff happening in between both games but vergilius is the main bridge that connect everything
not only that but EVERY single piece of media project moon happens to make shares the same universe and almost everything is connected in some way, even lobotomy corporation with its reduced scope compared to limbus or ruina shares so much with both it's amazing

There's also an official comic about what happened after Library of Ruina story ended and before Limbus Company begin, it's called "Leviathan"

The song is really memorable for who play Library. Because this is one of most memorable event in game. Same for From a place of love and Iron louts. I love and hate W train.
i love the irony of how the one thing he hates the most is the main instrument of his battle theme.
You should see Static, Birthday Boy and A Turtle's Heart. Those three are awesome, beautiful and sad at the same time... Also, A Turtle's Heart may had hit me way too close to home for me, mostly the lyrics

Library of ruina without Mili would be an entiterly different game there is no replacement that could make the same impact.

i got into a mili rabbit hole for a month or two because of my friend (he plays arcaea which has a mili song there and listened to gone angels on spotify on loop which i curiously listened to and now he made me listen to even more songs)

now i cant get into specifics because its way too spoilery, in context of the story, its about a person who has been planning revenge on another for the longest time and is now face to face with them in combat, trying to convince themselves to continue with the revenge, while still having doubts
I wanna recommend "Salt, Pepper, Birds, and the Thought Police" which originally was an unused song in Library of Ruina, or "From a Place of Love"

Never heard anyone that would be this good at creating sad piano music that's still very good for a fast paced battle, and even loops properly, quite like studio Mili, but there are certainly plently of close contenders (see also: DM Dokuro and whoever did Dark Aria for the Solo Leveling anime, the name currently escapes me)

FROM A PLACE OF LOVE. ENOUGH HAS BEEN SAID.
"I like how they kept it to just the piano, very little support." That's the whole point. Roland, the "narrator" in the song, is symbolized by the piano. Gone Angels is about his anger towards Angela and the world. He is lonely because his wife died, separated himself from all of his friends, and killed a few of his friends. So the piano is the only instrament since Roland is alone.
I like these videos, but I would love to see them get like a synopsys of the plot behind the song too to see how well they picked up on things.
like not the full story but like how this is a song about a man that has spent a while becoming good friends with the one that caused the death of his wife and has been trying to get them to show remorse for their actions so they don't have to kill them but they both are too stuborn to back down.
