@@Liscinov nah i used to upload video with it had no problems its just the video with that ost was including his 3 phases from the supressions before the black silence act
I have nothing but my sorrow and I want nothing more. It has been, it still is, faithful to me. Why should I begrudge it, since during the hours when my soul crushed the depths of my heart, it was seated there beside me? O sorrow, I have ended, you see, by respecting you, because I am certain you will never leave me. Ah! I realize it: your beauty lies in the force of your being. You are like those who never left the sad fireside corner of my poor black heart. O my sorrow, you are better than a well-beloved: because I know that on the day of my final agony, you will be there, lying in my sheets, O sorrow, so that you might once again attempt to enter my heart.
im so inlove with the way you describe the music, as roland's main emphasis as a character in his music is to be that of themes of romance and reminiscence of classical pianists, as a big plotpoint is that of his wife getting killed BY A GUY CALLED THE PIANIST WHO PLAYS A GIANT PIANO THAT TURNS PEOPLE INTO NOTES, projectmoon is wonderous and awesome and their music SLAPS, shoutout to their main composer studio EIM
For Roland, he is a very complex, yet simple character. Project moon did good with him and made him quite the hypocrite but in a way that makes him a person. If you want a new character to like, you can watch a video on his story or the story of Library of Ruina. I think there is one thats roughly an hour long that goes over everything. But thats what happens when 4 literature students get together to make a series. Also it says what roland is based off of, an italian poem called... Orlando Furioso I believe? But I can be wrong on that.
Knowing this dude? he could figure Roland's entire story out just by listening to gone angels after this piece... dude basically deconstructed Calamity's entire lore from music alone.
@@archmagemc3561Sadly he can't do any of the songs with vocals because he gets monetization removed from them. And he isn't unwilling to make problems between himself and Milli
You also noticed the violin being there with more hopeful notes. Roland's agony is represented by piano, while another main character has violin based theme. As the theme develops, piano becomes more chaotic, more disorganized, more hectic and messy - and violin grasps a consistent way to show the path, lead him through the ordeal to the end. It's not a duel of enemies, but friend letting you vent, so you can snap out of it. The fact she can see into him, the fact she is there - the fact his wailing reaches someone who cares to extend hand to him - that's where the hope lies. She can't help him, but she can understand - and that is helpful. Not a miracle, no. Just hope that things can 'change'. Now! Have that in mind checking "Angela" next.
Seconded, Angela 1-3 is the counterpoint piece to this (as they, representing the violin, go through their own musical journey supported by the piano that is Roland) It's a beautiful example of story-OST integration. Meanwhile the drums just aids and abets whichever instrument is going off the rails at the time.
Most of the Ruina music comes in three different phases, corresponding to the current intensity of the fight, with each phase designed to loop as necessary. The person who edited this video used a snap sound effect to transition the phases, which is a commonly used sound effect from the game. That's also why it ends abruptly, that would be the looping point of the song. My personal favorite OST from the game is The Reverberation Ensemble.
On one hand, I apologize for the brain dead behaviour of us Lobotomy Corporation/Library Of Ruina/Limbus Company fans. I am sorry that we cannot properly portray the dedication, tallent, everything that went into the Project Moon games. On the other hand, HE'S MADE CONTACT WITH PM ! GET HIM BOYS ! Also, I'd like to recommend listening to the Mili songs String Theocracy, From A Place Of Love and And Then Is Heard No More. They did a great job making those for Ruina.
Sad about String Theocracy, and I think that'll be the case for anything by Mili. Including the other person's suggestion, "Iron Lotus"... which I recommend you listen to anyway if you get a chance. Not for TH-cam or anything, it's just a great song.
Shout out to *The Pianist* for being the background of this wonderful piece. Did you know he was an unsuccesful piano player that used to play on Bars. Who would have though from such humble beginning would make way for this masterpiece. well baby steps am i right.
9:36 "its a violin and piano duel" why yes, so some quick things about this song and its sister counterpart "Angela1-3" it that Angela who is represented by the Violin and Roland who is represented by the piano, are having an argument, Roland thinks he's justified in killing literal millions in search of who is even partly responsable in his wife's death, while Angela is basically saying because I have suffered, it does not matter how many I kill, if I can get what I want. they sound the same don't they? why is it an argument? BECAUSE Angela is the one who set the events that killed Roland's wife, and Roland in "Angela1-3" is trying to see if he can forgive her, but Angela is too set in her ways (at least then) and Roland then justifies his HATE towards her because of that, which gives us this song. (edit 2) I almost forgot that the voice element is Roland's wife haunting him in his mind (not literally a ghost but more like the memory is what haunts me).
I wouldnt say their themes are in combat out of hate. In realizations, they extend helping hand to each other, violin helping the progressively more chaotic and thrasing piano to keep the melody consistent, show the path as it devolves. Same goes for piano in Angela's theme - as violin goes less and less confident and more spireful, piano's gentle notes back confine it. Their story isn't of mutual destruction but self realization. They know that what they doing is wrong. They know it leads nowhere. But they simply cannot just "let go", accept injustice that hurt them. To "let go" feels just not right, unfair, incomplete, necessary but inconceiveable, and knowing their stories, you understand well, why - hence this despairing, agonizing outbursts. LoR is not a story about two horrible people on quest to revenge that go against each other. It's about people overcoming the gruelling, seemingly impossible difficulty of changing the mindset that put them on path of their misery, and learning to overcome it - while simultaneously acknowledging that it's difficult to do so. Without patronizing them for being weak.
@@JannetFenix I generally agree. I would go even a step further, though. I think it's pretty obvious that during the events of the game, Roland and Angela bond quite a bit. They are not only struggling with similar things, they also enable each other. Roland with his catch phrase and Angela with her being bent on revenge. They either both go down or both go up, so to speak. So it can be both the story of mutual destruction or mutual overcoming, which shows in the music.
it's funny how every musician always says "the piano is the most important instruments" and everyone who know the game just said "yes... yes the piano is very important..."

I'm sure you can tell from all the other rabid comments from Project Moon fans, but we are really attached to this series. It deals with heavy themes of loss, love, strife, and more, and the music only helps truly convey the emotions the characters feel. I'm glad you enjoyed Roland's theme, considering he is an incredibly written character who's personality bleeds into his theme often. Roland's story is one of great sadness following the loss of his loved ones, and as he finds new people to love as he moves on. His themes really show how much sadness and torment he's been through with the somber pianos (an instrument that's linked to him thanks to his past) but also the hopefulness of the violin like you mentioned. I would love to see you cover more Project Moon music in the future, specifically something from the sequel to Library of Ruina, Limbus Company (Specifically Canto IV Boss Battle Theme 1, Canto IV Boss 2 Battle Theme, or Audite Pauper & Vovete Miserias) considering Limbus' music is similarly emotionally charged following the emotions of the main characters and enemies we fight aswell. In conclusion: great video as always and I hope to see more Project Moon from you!
what i love with roland's theme is basically he's telling you his story, starting with how his life goes in the city, when he met his wife and how he'll do everything for her, his agony after the event, his rage, everything during his reception you hear the 3 themes then gone angels kick in in the final phase, which basically is his wife comforting him and adding her part of the story roland has really one of the best written story that i've ever known
It never fails. Every time someone gets to the third movement of this Realization theme, eyes widen and the head nodding starts. You have a wonderful way of describing music, too. I know close to nothing when it comes to theory or anything, but I was able to fully understand what you were saying the whole time. Excellent work!
6:35 My favorite part about this section isnt just that it goes back to being dark and gloomy, the music itself sounds like its actively rejecting the hopefulness of the previous section. It fits very well with what the floor realizations are supposed to represent, the characters having to undergo profound change and work through their corrupted though processes in order to move on to a better future, and them actively resisting that change because they feel as though it'll strip them of what they have left. Studio EIM definitely cooked with the game's soundtrack, and managed to expertly weave very detailed and *specific* feelings into every inch of the soundtrack.
PMOON SLEEPER AGENTS ACTIVATE! I love how much insight you got just from the instrumentation, noting the romantic elements and the hopefulness of the minor violin in Phase 2 Overall, it's a very gloomy, manic, and sad song, with that violin being the only bit of hopefulness, fitting for a man so lost in his grief that he clings to memories long since past and drowned himself in sorrow. Also a fan of you spotting the classical inspirations; Roland is named after one of the 12 Paladins of Charlemagne.
@@elvinmacospag6989 if there's one thing i really, really like about phase 3 roland and phase 3 angela is they both have pieces of their phase 3 in each of them. Angela's theme has Roland's arpeggio, and Roland's theme has the the same violin from her phase 3. It's sick.
Absolutely love how so many themes you were able to just pick up from the music alone. Really goes to show studio EIM are masters of their craft and are able to communicate through music.

OMG TY FOR LISTENING TO LIBRARY OF RUINA!! I'm glad you like it and i hope to see more reactions to LoR because I absolutely adore the OST the game has.
Welcome to the Project Moon community, and Library of Ruina May you find your -book- music here Edit: There are so many good pieces from LoR and other Project Moon games (Lobotomy Corporation and Limbus Company). I recommend checking out Angela theme next since you started with roland
I for one am so happy you are reviewing the non lyrical ost of Library of Ruina, they tend to get overshadowed by Mili songs when fans talk about the music. If I may make a recommendation, could you check out the Angela's Realization Theme?
YES! YOU DID IT! Also if you wanna know the lore about Roland 1/2/3, it's basically you repressing Roland after he had a mental breakdown from remembering about his dead wife and tragic memories haunting me and you start comforting him by....beating him up!
Congrats, you've attracted some of the most dedicated fans i have ever seen. Anyhow, this is the main character (basically) of Ruina, a "washed-up grade 9 fixer" (low-level mercenary, 9th is the lowest tier) who has lost everything. The piano is his despair, the violin his guiding light, long extinguished in his fall from grace. Each movement is a different level of Emotion, intensity of fighting. The level is averaged from all (living) combatants, regardless of whether that combatant is on the verge of breaking down and fighting with everything they have left (negative emotion) or near-manic in their slaughter (positive emotion). Fun fact: Every background you see is a reference to a fight against him, I think.
i just love the lore thats snuck into the damn music its so good and im disappointed that i cant find this on spotify, i havent played library of ruina (hopefully one day but im still a minor and my parents have already said an explicit no to buying stuff like online games so im just stuck with limbus) so i cant really say more but im really invested in the story and lore of the game so its fun to watch stuff like this where the comments explain like everything... and i also love professional analysis like this video on soundtracks for games !!!!!! it really dissects everything and is soo interesting to watch and a professionals evaluation that always points out the parts you missed
Roland 2 is one of the best pieces i have ever heard. Can you please react to "And Then is heard no more", it's also from library of ruina but it is in completely different genre. Also "Abnormality third warning (LOR version)" is also a banger!
Reverberation Ensemble (and distorted) and the whole composition with voice (from crying children to gone angels) These are the brightest ones in my opinion. And also, it seems, a poem about a car is also possible. But all the music in this game is gorgeous
YOU MUST GANGNAM LIKE I HAVE (But in all honesty, this plays when floors are realized, where it's a big boss rush. Roland is represented by 15 abnormalities or what I call the physical manifestation of the unconscious human psyche. Tiphereth uses the Magical Girls or Mahou Shojou where each Girl represents the vices of the city he lives seeping into Roland, that being Hate/Despair/Greed/Wrath, and the final boss is Nix or Nihilism, where it's on Roland as opposed to his environment. Gebura has Red Riding Hood and Big Bad Wolf into play, where both are represented by eternal vengeance and the human roles towards others, alongside Mountain of Smiling Bodies that represent the trauma of death and decay; Nosferatu is the morally twisting ecstacy of killing, and Nothing There, being a literal skinwalker, all representing themes of violence as a whole. Chesed tackles the story of Wizard of Oz, but something is different. Dorothy and the gang are all the same but on the extremist value; Scarecrow slurping brains out, Tinman making hearts out of humans, Dorothy wanting to find her own place, and Lion whose courage is represented literally as a lion and as a helpless kitty. Ozma also appears as the manifestation of forgetfulness as a whole, while the boss, The Adult Who Tells Lies, is the combination of The Wizard himself and the Wicked Witch. In this version, they manage to visit this Adult and everyone was scammed so... Tinman did what he did best and made a Heart out of the Wizard.)
God, every project moon game has SUCH good music. Idk how they are so consistent with the quality, theres zero bad tracks in the ost. these devs must've sold their souls to do this good.

I love how much insight you got just from the instrumentation, noting the romantic elements and the hopefulness of the minor violin in Phase 2
Overall, it's a very gloomy, manic, and sad song, with that violin being the only bit of hopefulness, fitting for a man so lost in his grief that he clings to memories long since past and drowned himself in sorrow.
Finally you listen to Project Moon music
"I have nothing but my sorrow, and I want nothing more. It has been, it still is, faithful to me.
Why should I begrudge it, since during the hours, when my soul crushed the depths of my heart, it was seated there beside me?
O sorrow, I have ended, you see, by respecting you, because I am certain you will never leave me. Ah, I realize it: your beauty lies in the force of your being.
Because I know that on the day of my final agony, you will be there, lying in my sheets, O sorrow, so that you might once again attempt to enter my heart."
Yes! This sleeper agent is so happy to see the reaction to Roland theme. I love this one
As one of the original people to request this back when you first asked for suggestions, I'm glad it finally happened! Roland's theme is a great one to start with. Angela's theme is a fantastic one to do next.
Beautiful songs deserved a beautiful analysis, and you delivered! Thank you so much for this.
We have been summoned. The cult of Project Moon will not rest until you listen to everything
You should listen to Angela 1-3
This is this, and that is that.
The sleeper agents tighten their hold.
FINALLY IT'S HAPPENING, LET'S GO
I have been summoned for this project moon content. Many thanks for your video on this.
It's time to mention how glad i am that Item Asylum introduced me Project Moon and because of that i am now enjoying Project moon.
Can't say I'd be opposed to hearing more of this.
Great, after Library of Ruina we are waiting for Limbus Company!
Thank you very much for not ignoring the requests of the PM community!
OMG TY FOR LISTENING TO LIBRARY OF RUINA!! I'm glad you like it and i hope to see more reactions to LoR because I absolutely adore the OST the game has.
HE FOUND PEAK EVERYONE, YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO
this is the best day of my life, as a supporter of the channel for a little bit i am just ECSTATIC.
Ayyy
Joyous to see this after ever so long.
By the day of my final agony, I know you will still be there, lying in my sheets, reviewing music.
You should definently do Binah battle 1-3 It's so very heavy on the violin and dramatic effects It's my favorite by far.
I absolutely agree
Welcome to the Project Moon community, and Library of Ruina
May you find your -book- music here
Edit: There are so many good pieces from LoR and other Project Moon games (Lobotomy Corporation and Limbus Company). I recommend checking out Angela theme next since you started with roland
Woah! A library of ruina video as of a couple days ago. Nuts. Glad you enjoyed it.
this place is nuts!
I love Library of Ruina! I hope to see more reactions to the music or songs from it
YEEEEEAAAHHHH THANK YOU FOR REACTING TO THIS SONG
PROJECT MOON MENTIONED, THATS THAT AND THIS IS THIS!! You must feel the same gangnam as i have..
I for one am so happy you are reviewing the non lyrical ost of Library of Ruina, they tend to get overshadowed by Mili songs when fans talk about the music. If I may make a recommendation, could you check out the Angela's Realization Theme?

Listening to this music feels like distorting myself into fine red mist.
I know nothing about music theory but I still love watching these types of videos.
You just summoned a community
Holy moly is THAT ROLAND FROM LIBRARY OF RUINA !
Its ineed a black silence moment
Yo it's Roland from Library of Ruina on the Nintendo switch.
elegant is the perfect way to describe all the upper floor themes
Now its time for Angela realization theme! Great job!
YES! YOU DID IT! Also if you wanna know the lore about Roland 1/2/3, it's basically you repressing Roland after he had a mental breakdown from remembering about his dead wife and tragic memories haunting me and you start comforting him by....beating him up!
AAAAAAAA IM SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU LISTENING TO THE LIBRARY OF RUINA OST ! LETS GOOOOO❤🎉
GLORY TO KIM JIHOON

CHA! MAGANERA!!!
Fun fact: Every background you see is a reference to a fight against him, I think.
he actually pulled out the violin for the end
"This is this and that's that, you get me?"
- Certain dead wife
Glad you enjoyed it, shame you cant cover some of the more well known tracks cause of copyright, but hey it is what it is! Liked your reaction to it!
Hoo boy, awesome review of Roland 1-3.
Looking forward to hearing reaction to Gone Angels too!

i just love the lore thats snuck into the damn music its so good and im disappointed that i cant find this on spotify, i havent played library of ruina (hopefully one day but im still a minor and my parents have already said an explicit no to buying stuff like online games so im just stuck with limbus) so i cant really say more but im really invested in the story and lore of the game so its fun to watch stuff like this where the comments explain like everything... and i also love professional analysis like this video on soundtracks for games !!!!!! it really dissects everything and is soo interesting to watch and a professionals evaluation that always points out the parts you missed
Did you already do LobCorp’s three warnings? If not, I’d definitely recommend checking those out
Roland 2 is one of the best pieces i have ever heard. Can you please react to "And Then is heard no more", it's also from library of ruina but it is in completely different genre. Also "Abnormality third warning (LOR version)" is also a banger!
Remember me Lionmight? I'd recommend listening to through patches of violet, Children of the city, And Gone angels, Iron lotus if possible too!
@@RobertTheCultured He did already comment that he won't do any Mili music at all.
@@uGuardian4 Just noticed, saddened by it
Project Moon mentioned. LET'S GOOOOOOOOO!
"You must suffer like I have"
-Roland (allegedly)
Reverberation Ensemble (and distorted) and the whole composition with voice (from crying children to gone angels) These are the brightest ones in my opinion. And also, it seems, a poem about a car is also possible. But all the music in this game is gorgeous

YOU MUST GANGNAM LIKE I HAVE
(But in all honesty, this plays when floors are realized, where it's a big boss rush.
I WAITED FOR IT
Keyword activated, sleper agent awoken
i would love to see you hear more songs from the game, it has a great sound track, i personaly love netzach'z theme
I stg you get my every hyperfixation, first omori now fnf and then library of ruina. Not complaining I love this

5:42 Oh yeah that Angela violin trying to snap Roland out of this madness. Peak stuff
when he said "oh snap!" at the snap transition got me laughing
welcome to the rabbit hole that is project Moon's insane creation
This is this, and that's that.
