For context with more gun, the electric guitar kicks in when the engineer shifts from cheerful southerner to guy who has invented stuff specifically to kill people

you can see how they manage to tell what a character does just by producing themes for them, like spy's theme he said something about "stealth" and in demo's theme he says something about an irish dude getting into a bar fight, i believe that's something demoman would 100% do lmao
The music title names do give it away. I mean the music also do. but it kinda influence the outcome reading the title of a music track when it contains hint.
@@TheDiner50Yeah but yo need to know at least the basics of each class to get that, i don't think he knows. Which is good so he can draw from JUST the music with no game/lore knowledge to interfere with his interpretation.
Amazing video, you really nailed the vibe of those songs. So why "more gun" turns sinister is because the engineer (that song is his theme) while being a southern gentleman is still a stone cold killer. Hes polite, hes brilliant, but hes here to kill for money. That why his character is so fun. You'd never know he had that side to him until it was far too late. Also I would love to hear a purely electric violin tribute to these songs, a greatest hits if you will. I think it would be so cool.

So glad you're listening to more TF2 music, it's one of my favourite OSTs and your descriptions and analysations were almost spot-on, although 'Drunken Pipe Bomb' is themed around an (alcoholic) Scottish person, instead of Irish. But the other two you were entirely correct on which is really impressive considering you've only listened to the OST!
You got the vibe for each song pretty much perfectly for every one. Each one is from one of the classes' "Meet the Team" videos, where you're introduced to the class's playstyle and general personality. Drunken Pipe Bomb plays during the action sequences of Demoman's "Meet the Team" video. He's a laughing, drunken, Scottish (not Irish, but close enough) explosive class, lobbing bombs around and laying Stickybomb traps. But he's also more tactical than you'd think. The crescendo happens when he leads the enemy team into a big sticky trap he's laid out, and gives a taunting salute as they all blow up. Right Behind You is from the Spy's "Meet the Team" video. That one is more of a horror/thriller style (with plenty of humor, of course,) cutting back and forth between the enemy Spy sneaking through the base eliminating people one by one, and the remaining team members guarding the intelligence briefcase, deliberating over how to deal with the enemy Spy (and killing their allied Spy out of paranoia,) before the big reveal that one of them _was_ the enemy Spy the entire time. More Gun is from Engineer's "Meet the Team" video. It opens with him strumming his guitar, sitting in front of a fire, casually talking to the viewer about what being an Engie means, while gunfire periodically interjects. The threatening tone change happens when the camera pans out, revealing the many different automated Sentry Guns all around him, gunning down enemies trying to approach. So you weren't completely off the mark with the Western gun draw thing.
I listen to these soundtracks for years (and not only in-game), and yet you made me rediscover, hear things I didn't before, in the whole album, so big thank you for that !!
When speaking of Orchestral soundtracks I think one of the most overlooked ones is Rabbids Go Home. The Band they chose was absolutely perfect for the games chaotic nature. Some especially good ones here are Ciocarlia, Bubamara and Bãtutã din Moldova
Bãtutã din Moldova even has a connection to TF2 through the old TF2 video "The Vicious Cycle of 2Fort". That's actually where I first heard the Rabbids Go Home soundtrack
you gotta love the pure joy that he feels when he is listening to the music, honestly emulates my feeling when im listening as well. love this channel! also you violin for right behind you sound fucking amazing!
Awesome stuff! A lot of these music can be found through the 'Meet the Team' videos on TH-cam in case you want the imagery with it. It’s so cool that despite the different directions the musics take like Scottish back pipes or the western guitar, it stays true to the Spy Movie style you talked about. If you ever want more of these, the next ones are: - Mercenary Park - It hates me so much - Intruder Alert - Faster than a Speeding Bullet And then some: - Dapper Cadaver - Soldier of Dance - Seduce Me! - A little Heart to Heart Love your videos and remixes! Good stuff 🤌 (By the way, little tidbit, the theme for the sniper is straight up just the music of Magnum Force, the movie, not even remixed at all, just the same, so you don’t need to check it out if you already know it)
I closed my eyes and just listened to your addition onto "Right Behind You". I love the flair that you put onto it. Its like a tale ive never heard, but is somehow even better. Thank you for covering this, and improving upon perfection. 👍
YES I saw your first video and I couldn’t wait for more! Something I wish people would react to is the old Call of Duty soundtracks thought like old Modern Warfare 2, that music gets me motivated like nothing before.
If you're looking for a new VST to listen to, Hi-Fi Rush came out earlier this year and has sooo many good songs. It's chock-full of nice spins on the rock genre that never manages to bore, and each song is so intoxicatingly enjoyable. Favourite VST of all time, and I think you'd really enjoy it!
That violin take you had on right behind you was probably one of the most beautiful pieces of music i have ever heard, itd be amazing isolated to just sit and listen it
If you did team fortress again, I'd love if you gave your thoughts on what you imagine the scenario of the track is, and then watch the trailers in which they happen. I loved your thoughts on More Gun and Right Behind you, and it'd be neat if you then saw what they were actually used for, and how close you were!
@@LionmightOfficialthank you for these videos, it's great to see your thoughts and ideas from these soundtracks because it's one of the best parts of tf2 imo
I kind of adore that both the medic and engineer essentially have two halves each to their theme music, where the first half is all quaint and unassuming and then the second half hits the most intense spike in tone imaginable. The same way medic and engie themselves are kind of quaint, cute, unintimidating classes in-game until given time to fully set up the tools that make them truly scary, i.e medic's ubercharge and engie's level 3 buildings. Music tying to the game design in little ways like that is just so rad.
So glad you checked this out. It's a real treat to see someone find the TF2 soundtrack, for how wacky and wild it is. If you've got the spare time, you should watch the Meet the Team videos, which actually use the music pieces from the soundtrack in them.
Almost every single song you've listened to is from the "Meet The" character animations valve made for every character. For "Right Behind You" plays during "Meet The Spy" and is honestly my favorite one just because of this song lining up so well with the animation.
I love this game like a love a person from my past. The mercs, their themes, the gameplay, my old crew that I played with. It was a different time in my life that I really miss. Thank you for reminding me. I’ve shed a few tears watching these videos. I hope you do some more.
I agree with you on only reacting to the music the first time around, although I think it would be quite fun to go back once you've finished the full sound track and watch some of the videos associated with the music and see how close you got to the "intended context". It also a treat to hear the songs on there own the videos unintentionally cover up the subtitles of the music
You really can't put the TF2 soundtrack behind you without listening & reacting to The Calm. It's one of those songs that starts out with a strong theme and then does a 90 degree turn into something very different. It's one of my favourite songs on the album.
These are very unique reactions man, one of my favourite parts is the analisis of each song, comparing the songs with the knowledge you have about music like in here with all of the minimalist style of composition. It gives so much more to these types of videos that someone knows what they are talking about
The game is timeless, the music is great, and the community is amazing. Nothing will stop the community from growing, and every part if the community helps bring everything together. Gameplay, weapons, maps, gamemodes, music. Everything. We love the game for the things that the game is.
I've seen this video so many times and i still enjoy the parts of your violin. Especially the right behind you one with the violin. I can imagine having a choir as extra singing dies irae
Hey SPG loved the reaction ! If you're looking for more video game osts, I can suggest you some amazing osts from Enter The Gungeon! You should defenitly look for those first : "Lead Lord Keep", "Boss Battle Beating" and "Enter the Gungeon"
sound tracks from the Touhou project series are over the top amazing. You just have to listen to some if you haven't yet. some that I recommend would be Septette For a Dead Princess, Hiroari Shoots a Strange Bird, Gensokyo Millennium, and Satori Maiden.
Your tf2 videos make me tear because tf2 is my childhood and reminds me the magic that I felt when I watched tf2 meet the team videos and when I played for first time the game, thank you!
The violin alongside Right Behind You was absolutely perfect. You totally nailed the feel of the song, and your addition to the song was incredibly fitting whilst not falling into the pitfall of other covers where they end up taking the focus from the original song. Your version added the perfect, terrifying element and complimented the original piece wonderfully. Sent chills down my spine. It's been 12 years since I first played TF2 and that brought me back to the first time I ever heard that song all those years ago, the tension and suspense that song brings. TF2 has one of the best, if not the best, soundtracks in all of gaming.
there's a hidden gem of a game, Starlink: Battle For Atlas, but has been somewhat forgotten by most people. if you were to listen to the OST, my favourites are Primed For Battle, The Warden Harvest and The Dreadnought
More Gun fits the engi well, it starts friendly and innocent, then slowly builds and iterates on its structure and intensity. I feel like it conveys dawning realization of how complex his machinations and machines are, like you're seeing all his failsafes and realizing you're 12 plans behind
When you're finished with the soundtrack, would you do a reaction of all the Meet the Team videos? It'd be nice to watch you hear how the songs are used, and see the characters and scenarios the music was composed for.
Love that you're checking out TF2's soundtrack, the songs totally bang. There is another game series that I love as well that also has a killer and banging soundtrack, and it's the Yakuza/Ryu Ga Gotoku series (as well as its spinoffs Judgment, Lost Judgment etc.). It's unreal how each game in the series and its spinoffs has a phenomenal soundtrack and I'd love for you to give them a listen.
Hey man, could u do "crypt of the necrodancer" ? It's a great rhythm game and I would especially recommend the songs, mausoleum mash and six feet thunder
'More Gun' is the theme of the Engineer, a seemingly sane man, and inarguably the most intelligent merc, but he is just as nuts as everyone else, 11 PHDs but still insane
Your improv for "Right Behind You" was awesome, you're very talented, thank you for sharing that talent with us! Edit: Should have waited to comment, the one for more gun was brilliant as well!
I really like the sudden twist in More Gun, really shows you that no matter how calm and sensible Engineer seems, he's still as insane as every other mercenary
Great reaction, love how you add on to the music yourself after giving your thoughts. For other games, Disco Elysium personally has an astounding soundtrack, would highly recommend a listen!
A way less known game soundtrack suggestion; Endless Space 2 (and Endless Legend, same universe and composer). The soundtrack has a spacey "endless" feel to them that I've never heard before. While the entire soundtrack is amazing the standouts for me are Unstable Molecule, Memories of the Lost, and Time of Change. Btw loved your addition to Right Behind You!
I highly recommend checking out the soundtracks to the Telltale Sam and Max games (Save the World, Beyond Time and Space, the Devil's Playhouse). Jared Emerson-Johnson is the composer and sound designer for those titles and he does a bang-up job with the jazz-inspired tracks. In your first Team Fortress 2 video you asked for more examples of theramin-esque songs from games, and in the 2nd and 3rd games he actually uses them to precisely that effect (see City Streets 2nd Arrangement or Battling Skunkape). Both arrangements of the Office Theme, Bosco's, Cogs in Motion, Consecutive Office, Twilight Eternal, and Jurgen's Lair Suite are other recs for phenominal tracks from the games.
I still love that the music captures the character’s personalities so well that even someone who’s never heard of or seen TF2 would probably be able to immediately understand what they’re like by just listening to their theme songs Side note: if you haven’t already, can you please try reacting to some Touhou songs or even the remixes since some of them are as good if not better than the originals
i'm not well versed in music composition but i've been a big fan of tf2 for near a decade now- you absolutely hit the nail on the head with your descriptions of the pieces with zero context as to what's happening on screen while this music plays. you kept referencing 60s and 70s science fiction and spy films in your last video, and here you've captured the essence of these more character specific pieces beautifully! if you revisit the TF2 Soundtrack, my personal favorite piece is called Dapper Cadaver, and Faster Than A Speeding Bullet is another classic i think you should listen to
One of my favorite elements of the right behind you ost is how the strings follow after the initial piano note, emphasizing the “behind you” theme. Brilliant!
For background information, almost all these songs come from official animations presenting each character from the game. (U should watch them, it takes u no more than 30 min). Also the scenarios you talked about were spot on, Irish man drinking and being sneaky with the right behind you tune.
This is the first time in a very, VERY, long time, that I have been smiling and laughing ear to ear whilst watching a video. Watching someone with so much knowledge on music react to tf2 music is so fun because the game is all over the place with its music but also so similar. And the way you can create these storys with the music is insane, truly, bravo, you have a gift.
I would recommend 'Saluting the Fallen' and 'Soldier of Dance'. You'll probably also like 'A Little Heart to Heart' and 'Seduce Me!' My personal request though - "Playing with Danger"
Your analysis of the tracks was spot-on. It's always great to see someone get so close without having any actual information about the scene/game/video... I'd love to see Chicory:A Colorful Tale reaction. The music is all so good!
"Meet the Spy" is a very well designed track. The melody over the loud, droning, brass section which only plays one sound is extremely cinematic. Like that huge note is a looming presence hiding in the softer, chaotic arpeggios that echo through the track. Absolutely gorgeous, they nailed it imo

Yes ! I'm trying to hype Sonic Mania ost since the pizza tower video lol, holding up to the dream
Collision Chaos from CD is such a banger
Oh, I prefer the US Soundtrack
I really like Final Fever (JP) it's too good for what the final boss is
@@GameFreak64101both are good‼️
One of my favorite TF2 songs is "The Calm." I'd highly recommend you listen to it if you make another one of these!
Dude if he liked More Gun he would love The Calm
Your addition to right behind you is great, and you had the scenario spot on
you can see how they manage to tell what a character does just by producing themes for them, like spy's theme he said something about "stealth" and in demo's theme he says something about an irish dude getting into a bar fight, i believe that's something demoman would 100% do lmao
You are the best music reaction channel out there, keep up the amazing work! I personally would LOVE to hear you react to Deep Rock Galactic's soundtrack, both volume 1 and 2. It is very synth heavy, and I have a feeling you're going to like it;)
Wow! Thank you for your support!
Deep Rock Galactic's soundtrack is great, would love to see reaction aswell
I was about to recommend this as well! ROCK AND STONE!!! ⛏️

Thank you so much RG! I love when all my musical heroes make a cameo in these videos! Philip Glass is definitely among the top!
@@Clusterisdoingstuff You were faster than me, then! It took me more like 30 minutes or so. The reason I had early access is because I'm a member of his TH-cam channel, which means I pay a little bit to support his content. He shows his thanks for that by giving members early access as well as some additional member-only content. 😊Congrats on spotting the video so quickly!! @@LionmightOfficial Could you listen to solider of dance and then afterward watch the dance that goes with it please. Also could listen to the remix by metal fortress as well thanks
as a music nerd, I really like that you're analysing the soundtrack for one of my favourite games! you should definitely make a Part 3 for this.
4:06 well the Demoman (for whom this Soundtrack was used to introduce in "Meet the Demoman") is scottish
Wow, I think your improv on Right Behind You is my favorite one of your improve sections so far.
I hope part 3 comes out soon, this guys reaction to the sudden transitions of some of the songs is amazing.
The "fire" is a burning sniper...
I love how his eyes widen at the start of every song like he is blown away 3 seconds into the song
Fun fact: More Gun (at least the intro bit) is actually heavily based on "Someone Else's Song" by the band Wilco
Wow, man. I really liked what you added to the "Right behind you" song with you violin. It gave it another layer of emotion. You're awesome, dude.
I listen to these soundtracks for years (and not only in-game), and yet you made me rediscover, hear things I didn't before, in the whole album, so big thank you for that !!
Can never not hear 3:45 "Ohh there gunnuh huf to glew yuh back together... IN HELL" when hearing this part.
Turning More Gun into bluegrass was gorgeous, wish you played more of it!
When speaking of Orchestral soundtracks I think one of the most overlooked ones is Rabbids Go Home.
The Band they chose was absolutely perfect for the games chaotic nature.
Some especially good ones here are Ciocarlia, Bubamara and Bãtutã din Moldova
Even though much of Rabbids Go Home soundtrack are covers, the brass in them is just perfect
Bãtutã din Moldova even has a connection to TF2 through the old TF2 video "The Vicious Cycle of 2Fort". That's actually where I first heard the Rabbids Go Home soundtrack
Oh man that violin piece with the spy theme was just so unexpectedly beautiful I have goosebumps as I’m typing this out
They reminded me of Bioshock
you gotta love the pure joy that he feels when he is listening to the music, honestly emulates my feeling when im listening as well. love this channel! also you violin for right behind you sound fucking amazing!
If you ever want more of these, the next ones are:
- Mercenary Park
- It hates me so much
- Intruder Alert
- Faster than a Speeding Bullet
And then some:
- Dapper Cadaver
- Soldier of Dance
- Seduce Me!
- A little Heart to Heart
Love your videos and remixes! Good stuff 🤌
(By the way, little tidbit, the theme for the sniper is straight up just the music of Magnum Force, the movie, not even remixed at all, just the same, so you don’t need to check it out if you already know it)
5:24 "he could be in this very room"
"He could be you"
He could be me
He could even be "shotgun shot"
"WOAH WOAH WOAH"
What? It was obvious, he's the red spy
Honestly we just need to get him to react to all the tf2 songs. They’re just pure fire.
Kotone!
Oh man, I still really want to play that game... but not as long as it comes with Denuvo
during the first reaction it was close, not Irish but Scottish.
nice video!
Thanks. Not really interested whether I was right or wrong. The journey of imagination is enough for me. I move on to the next video.
@@LionmightOfficialthank you for these videos, it's great to see your thoughts and ideas from these soundtracks because it's one of the best parts of tf2 imo

@@LionmightOfficialI really think you'd like the trailers, even without recording them! They're really fun and silly
@@LionmightOfficialyou should totally watch the videos they are amazing
Man right behind you just takes me back to the tf2 "Meet the character" videos
Almost every single song you've listened to is from the "Meet The" character animations valve made for every character. For "Right Behind You" plays during "Meet The Spy" and is honestly my favorite one just because of this song lining up so well with the animation.
I love this game like a love a person from my past. The mercs, their themes, the gameplay, my old crew that I played with. It was a different time in my life that I really miss. Thank you for reminding me. I’ve shed a few tears watching these videos. I hope you do some more.
id love to see you listen to either The Binding of Isaac or Deep Rock Galactic's soundtracks!
YES DEEP ROCK GALACTIC
ROCK AND STONE!
@@gammafox5431 ROCK AND STONE
*bursts into a seemingly dark empty room* “ROCK AND STONE BROTHERS- . . Oh I’m a year too late . . ROCK AND STONE”
I loved you playing over the Spy and Engineer song! It sounded so nice as if it was a missing piece
idk why but when SPG hears the first 5 seconds of any song he goes 👀
These are very unique reactions man, one of my favourite parts is the analisis of each song, comparing the songs with the knowledge you have about music like in here with all of the minimalist style of composition. It gives so much more to these types of videos that someone knows what they are talking about
The game is timeless, the music is great, and the community is amazing. Nothing will stop the community from growing, and every part if the community helps bring everything together. Gameplay, weapons, maps, gamemodes, music. Everything. We love the game for the things that the game is.
I mean the game literally has its own economy
I've seen this video so many times and i still enjoy the parts of your violin. Especially the right behind you one with the violin. I can imagine having a choir as extra singing dies irae
Hey SPG loved the reaction ! If you're looking for more video game osts, I can suggest you some amazing osts from Enter The Gungeon! You should defenitly look for those first : "Lead Lord Keep", "Boss Battle Beating" and "Enter the Gungeon"
i like how you add to the music you analize sometimes it fits less but sometimes it seems so natural when you play along
sound tracks from the Touhou project series are over the top amazing.
These kinds of videos make me smile. I enjoy them very much.
Yooo a fellow starlink fan!!!
good to know there's others who actually enjoyed that game
@@anthonytheadmin1681 ay the game is good. beat it a bunch of times on very hard
Played it kinda like a new starfox game
oh yeah that game exists
More Gun fits the engi well, it starts friendly and innocent, then slowly builds and iterates on its structure and intensity. I feel like it conveys dawning realization of how complex his machinations and machines are, like you're seeing all his failsafes and realizing you're 12 plans behind
When you're finished with the soundtrack, would you do a reaction of all the Meet the Team videos? It'd be nice to watch you hear how the songs are used, and see the characters and scenarios the music was composed for.
Hearing you additon to "right beghind you" Was pefect, that buildup sent shivers down my spine;. Really good work
Love that you're checking out TF2's soundtrack, the songs totally bang.
That was a great video. May I ask if you could do another one. My favourite "A little heart to heart" wasn't there yet
"Seduce me!", "Night of the Living Bread", and "It hates me so much!" are ones you should definitely check out next.
Your improv for "Right Behind You" was awesome, you're very talented, thank you for sharing that talent with us!
Edit: Should have waited to comment, the one for more gun was brilliant as well!
I really like the sudden twist in More Gun, really shows you that no matter how calm and sensible Engineer seems, he's still as insane as every other mercenary
holy crap your addition to More Gun has me screaming!! I need a full song of you playing with More Gun!!!
ES2 has an incredible soundtrack!

I still love that the music captures the character’s personalities so well that even someone who’s never heard of or seen TF2 would probably be able to immediately understand what they’re like by just listening to their theme songs
Side note: if you haven’t already, can you please try reacting to some Touhou songs or even the remixes since some of them are as good if not better than the originals
i'm not well versed in music composition but i've been a big fan of tf2 for near a decade now- you absolutely hit the nail on the head with your descriptions of the pieces with zero context as to what's happening on screen while this music plays. you kept referencing 60s and 70s science fiction and spy films in your last video, and here you've captured the essence of these more character specific pieces beautifully! if you revisit the TF2 Soundtrack, my personal favorite piece is called Dapper Cadaver, and Faster Than A Speeding Bullet is another classic i think you should listen to
6:48 he tried to say "Merasmus".
One of my favorite elements of the right behind you ost is how the strings follow after the initial piano note, emphasizing the “behind you” theme. Brilliant!

For background information, almost all these songs come from official animations presenting each character from the game. (U should watch them, it takes u no more than 30 min).
Also the scenarios you talked about were spot on, Irish man drinking and being sneaky with the right behind you tune.
the mercenary that has the song: drunken pipe bomb is actually scottish, not irish
To be fair, there's a huge overlap between the Gaelic countries.
You'll probably also like 'A Little Heart to Heart' and 'Seduce Me!'
My personal request though - "Playing with Danger"
Your analysis of the tracks was spot-on. It's always great to see someone get so close without having any actual information about the scene/game/video...
I'd love to see Chicory:A Colorful Tale reaction. The music is all so good!
I recommend you check out the half life 1 and 2 soundtracks, it would be nice to hear your input on them
"Meet the Spy" is a very well designed track. The melody over the loud, droning, brass section which only plays one sound is extremely cinematic. Like that huge note is a looming presence hiding in the softer, chaotic arpeggios that echo through the track.
Absolutely gorgeous, they nailed it imo
