Warning: before you cut a sweater please do a reenforced stitch above the line a few times. Then cut below the stitch line a few inches. The other half of that sweater can become a scarf. Karen, I love the sweater the way it is. ❤️❤️
THIS is why I watch your channel! I love winter dressing. The layers, the textures, they are all so much fun. This year I purchased a slew (I went a little overboard) of vintage wool for winter, sweaters, blazers, skirts, shorts (they are super cool) and coats. I am warm and I feel so CHIC.
You and Michael have made my morning. I also cant wait to wear my hooded black faux fur maxi coat. Its so warm. Every time I wear mine I remember a petite 80yr old looking woman wearing her floor length mink coat in the grocery store.(so chic). It was 10 degrees outside, windy and snowing and I was jealous of her decision to wear something so beautiful but functional at that time.
I am so happy to hear that you have a coat obsession too! I have a whole closet full of coats and jackets and I love them all! But recently I got another coat that came with a hood and a separate down, cropped vest! But it is a lighter, cloth rain coat for when the weather is warmer and rainy (I'm being optimistic here in California). Can't wait to wear it! I do have thee down coats to wear now. I have had them for 25 years and they still look great! My husband loves scarves in the winter. He has several that he wears inside too. He says that they keep him warm. Yes, I have several scarves, a couple that are large enough to wear over a coat for extra warmth. I also have a super long, black, knited, textured scarf that is my favorite for the winter. My friend made it for me. I love it! Is so special!
Hey Karen -Just gotta say that my appreciation for Camels (yes the animal and yes the color) has grown since watching your vids. Love how he pops in every once in awhile. His expression says it all. I am with you on all your loves - I think about my coat collection when fall hits and it's a "can't wait" moment even though I am not a winter lover. Love all ya do !
I'm here in the NY/NJ area and it's time to pull out my 80's era OMO Norma Kamali sleeping bag coat! It's like a warm hug when it's exceptionally frigid out. It can handle single-digit cold and winds. And yes! I have a favorite pair of buttery leather gloves I love to wear with it.
Love the way you get so excited thats what I'm like when I'm by myself. I start laughing and screaming as I'm so excited about my winter clothes. Now I've seen you doing the same I know "it's a thing"
Love your accent, style choices and classiness... You wear those classics I've been raised on and lived in my Youth and still live as an Elder... You Rock !!! Subscribed ,as I'm an East Coast Girl and the English have terminology I Love...and Your attitude, accent and style are still the same today...Have those same boots as for your style it'll never go out of Style, it's Timeless
I wish I can wear beautiful boots but they over salt in Canada and everything gets ruined despite boot protection! I look forward to all the videos. The enthusiasm is contagious!
And this video comes a bit late for those of us in Canada. Everything in it is beautiful, especially the Max Mara teddy, but here we’d consider them appropriate for late fall and the end of March. It’s -25 C (really cold in Fahrenheit) today. To walk the dog I wore a puffer that almost reaches my ankles over three layers of tops - Heattech, Heattech, heavy cotton sweatshirt and two layers under my windproof snow pants, Muck Boot Company Arctic Grip boots over merino socks, a tuque (beanie to everyone outside of Canada), and finally, gloves under down mitts. As long as I kept moving I was almost toasty warm!
Here's freezing cold too (Toulouse,France) and I'm super excited as I do love the season. Eventhough I'm not a big fan of winter undergarments I found Cos has these slim-fit turtleneck tops perfect to layer underneath other pieces as they are super thin.
I’m already wearing my winter wardrobe…I love my winter clothes! My favourites are my jumper (sorry, not sorry I’m from England) dresses…I have a few (4 😱), high waisted ‘mom’ jeans with cropped jumpers. I’m totally in love with my 2 teddy bear coats too. It’s freezing here today so I’m going to get out one of my jumper dresses. X
Love you! Your observations have made me more comfortable about loving what *I* love rather than loving what’s ”in style” right now. Please keep shaing all of your wonderful beauty and enthusiasm. I always feel good about myself and excited about what I’m planning to wear after watching one of your videos.
I got my first Max Mara coat in 1998 - on sale in London. It's a winter white swing coat and I still get compliments on it. Yes, they're expensive, but when you keep them literally forever, they're such good value. Their basics are classic cuts - I have 2 swing coats (a winter & a spring weight), a puffer and a belted. You can get them on sale in the USA & Canada...I got mine during the spring sales, but don't hesitate....they go quickly.
Hello Karen...thank you for a great content, my style has changed a lots since I started following you on Instagram and watching you here too. You are good at what you do 😘
I LOVE a great scarf. Here in NC we do not have the cold as long- so wool maybe not so much but blends (cotton, bamboo, a little cashmere and silk) yes. I’m kind of known for my year round scarf wearing. In the summer a light weight scarf keeps the sun off me (fair, freckles, hyperpigmentation) - in the fall it finishes-off an outfit or allows me to transition to cooler weather with my summer clothes and in winter it is essential for style as well as function.
I love you and Michael, so very nice and refreshing seeing the two of you. I cant wait to wear my long cardigans. I love, love cardigans. Keep winning Karen. ❤
I'm a recent subscriber as I love your style and positive energy. I was inspired by one of your videos and found a beautiful custom tailored men's black coat at a thrift store recently. It had a toonie in the pocket and red silk lining so I knew it was mine. 😊 Living in Canada, I am always looking for warm, stylish things to wear and you've given me lots of great ideas. Thanks! 💖
Love your video. Those knit dresses are amazing! Winter/cold outfits are my favorites, and as living in the Great Lakes region, I feel like I wore most of my warm things already, which drives me to invest in those dresses, which is another favorite of mine, dresses and skirts during cold season. Always looking forward to the next video. Merci et bonne continuation!!!
Shortly after you got the Max Mara coat, I was in my favorite vintage store and found a full length fluffy camel coat. It is from the 20s or 30s and it's so crazy cozy and warm. It doesn't have any closures or any indication that it ever did. It's actually too cold to wear it right now in Minnesota, but as soon as it gets above zero. :D
Hi Karen, I don’t have any favorite one thing for winter 🌊But I do like the idea of layering clothes and or just not dressing up at all 😯 just throw on a big coat and go 🧐 sounds lazy but still very much still looking cool 😎 Just keep warm 🌊🌧🌬
Karen, you taught me not to be afraid to diy something when you showed several items you changed to fit your style. I can't wait to wear my black leather biker jacket...I thrifted it some 12 years ago and I love it...
You got me inspired! We aren’t really having much of a winter this year in hot Houston. Finally just switched to sweaters and long pants. So I try to use winter colors to give the effect. On windy days I add a scarf and on rainy days I wear boots.
It doesn’t get very cold where I live, but if I’m going somewhere cold, like the mountains, my must-have is silk long johns. I wear silk knit long-sleeves tees all the time under my sweaters, too, to reduce the skin irritation. I couldn’t tolerate wool base layers, but over a silk base they might be ok. When working outdoors in cold locations I always wore: silk long johns, thick cotton turtleneck, then a wool sweater on top. Because of the rough nature of my work, I’m a geologist, I wore my Carhartt overalls (surprisingly sexy-fitting) and parka. Or Carhartt coveralls (boiler suit) over the long johns, leggings and the same top layers. By wearing wool or cotton leggings over the long johns, I was still decently dressed when I needed to take off the overalls or coveralls. (Sometimes we were lucky enough to have a trailer or other shelter we could work in part of the day, then the overalls or coveralls wouldn’t be needed, or there might be a restaurant we could drive to for lunch. But many times, the locations were just too remote for any amenities).
That white coat, lined inside, is doing the most for me! I love it!!! Regarding cutting that knit sweater, if you cut it, it will unravel. You can take it to someone who knows how to knit and ask them to undo the knit and then re-knit the bottom the way you like.
Very fine knit sweaters can be cut. I’ve done it many times. I use pinking shears. Loose knits, like your jumper, will need some sort of finish, hem, done before the cut. And that will be iffy, but experimenting is good.
Your husband is darling! Such a charismatic smile. Love the dynamic you allow us to see. Thank you for another fun video. I’m Canadian so always trying to find ways to look chic despite the many many layers necessary for sustaining life. 😆
I just love your energy...we should all look forward to winter like you do 😍😍. It would make the winter season so much more exciting. Love the idea of cropping the sweater however, that particular one is too wide to cut and get the look that you want.
Hi Karen, I was listening to you at breakfast and my Mom recognised your voice. I showed her the part of the video with Michael in it and she said "He's a catch!" Been loving your styles for awhile and I'm getting inspiration to pack for my brother and sister in law's place to meet my niblings. Love from Washington!
Love your energy! My favorite piece that I look forward to wearing is this brown leather jacket that's fuzzy-lined on the inside that's absolutely gorgeousss and I feel like such a baddie in it:))
Great video and such fun when Michael shows up too! I love an old super warm pullover parka from The Gap that my son wore during college and gifted to me. When it’s freezing here in northern Illinois, that is my go to coat!
Been looking forward to wearing the black version on the very pants I think you have on (got them from your Amazon Drop a while back). Didn't know they came in that chocolate color you're rockin, though. Already wore them with high-heeled ankle boots and cropped demim jacket when I first got them, but now I'm thinking to wear them with warm fuzzy white coat like you have in the video.
I’m so inspired by your max Mara coat. I found an h&m 100% wool Sherpa coat in camel color- made in Italy ❤️❤️❤️. So excited for super cold nyc winters! Love the content keep it coming.
I enjoy your videos and Instagram posts. I have dropped from shopping clothes since I have retired from my job. I am 66 years olds and I am SO ready to revamp my style and wardrobe. I have incorporated my shoe and boot game because of you. I have some Dr Martens in cherry wine platform combat boot and another pair black Thursday Black combat boot. Now I want to build my clothes style around dresses Midi length and feminine dresses for casual and for church. I like how you get Mens clothes and style them with dresses and pants. I am so tempted to go and shop Mens stores for myself. I love the tweeds and pants look you styled with your Mens overcoat. I am a plus size and working on losing weight for health reasons. I want to cull my closet and start all over. Thank you for the inspiration.😎. Oh by the way, I was watching Discovery of Witches, the third season and the character Agatha was wearing some bad ass sun glasses….they were cat eye glasses that was so different from all others. You posted some glasses on one of your videos….and I loved them….
I agree. When to shop and shop for things that you love, I feel you would want to wear them over and over with joy. This shopping and shopping and still not happy, well just say that's a different issue someone is having.
I love this video. I bought a sweater that’s super soft faux fur wrap cropped long sleeved. Thanks for the idea of wearing it over my long mock neck knit dress! Also, I love the miniature Schnauzer cameo , We had one for 16 years - she melted my heart.❤️
Snow princess indeed😆, I love it. This video has me excited for you. Not too cold here in Oakland but there always travel😁.....What I can't wait to wear this winter is my long tweed-brownish/red/orange coat. Looks fantastic with all black and like you mentioned a red lip👍🏾Thanks Karen🙏🏾 btw don't cut the sweater please🥺
Living in the south this is a constant. We are not even waiting for snow just some cold weather😂. I think I need to move to a colder climate. Isn’t that funny how when you love certain trends that you just can’t wear that it makes you want it more! Happy to see that you embrace being able to experience all of the seasons. Before I was just able to travel and enjoy all of the seasonal trends, not so much now. So just know that I am living through you Karen. Thanks for sharing❤️
Happy new year Karen!! 🎉🎊💖 I'd take the oversized thrifted cable knit to a seamstress & get her to crop it & re-attach the bottom cuff so it doesn't fray, otherwise the whole thing may start unravelling lol 🤣😷
Luv you guys and the puppy is adorable. I luv my Uggs too….I wear them every year especially right now in Toronto Canada where the temperature is -21 degree with windchill of -31. Thx for the amazing selection as always
Your enthusiasm is so much fun!……..As for cropping that sweater……That one will be too wide on you. I’d get one a few sizes down and then crop. You could easily fringe the ends! Keep warm this weekend!
I have the Gentle Herd sweater you linked. It.Is.So Good. I own lots of cashmere, but when I say it's the softest, IT IS THE SOFTEST CASHMERE I'VE EVER OWNED (and I have some high end pieces). I highly recommend it.
I can't wait to wear my Vitamina 100% wool green tweed coat I got in Uruguay ages ago. I also have a vintage cashmere long black coat that I can't wait to wear this winter. My favorite Irish sweater and my green puffer combined are the bomb. I have been wearing it across the tunnel in NJ while visiting family. Cheers!! Don't do it!!
I love your style and how excited you are to wear your winter clothes - I would be too if I had your figure and clothes to choose from!😉🤩 It's great when you hit on a new idea for styling an item in your wardrobe - your enthusiasm is so infectious. 👌 I'm excited to wear my chocolate brown borg coat and new Fendi scarf. I haven't worn either yet owing to the temperature here - as you know the winters in the UK aren't any where near as cold as New York, plus I'm going through early menopause, so I already have built-in central heating.🤣🤣🤣
I love Winter dressing as well. I appreciate that you went over the classics/staples and how they integrate with current trends. Can’t wait to see how your DIY cropped sweater turns out.
Greetings Karen It’s all your fault. I bought a Max Mara Teddy (camel). I’m 72 1/2 yrs old, 5’8” tall, 177 pounds. I got a medium cuz the large would be a bit much for me. My coat arrived today so within an hour I wore it out to the grocery store. Very warm. I’m so fab now! Thanx for introducing me to this great investment piece.
Honestly, I have a yellow pair of Kate Spade mittens with the word Taxi written on one of them that I love! I do not have a Kate Spade budget but I found them on Depop, perfect condition, and grabbed them straight away!
Hello Karen, Happy New Year! Bought the Chloe PVC boots with the chunky heel and it has been a live savior. Bought them as the price point was more friendly than the bottega trendy ones and didn’t want to commit straight away. I do not regret it. Went skiing before year end and wore those after ski instead of moon boots. Went for walks with dogs in the snow and they were just perfect. Cannot wait (although did not stop) wearing them again this winter. Lovely video as usual!
Warning: before you cut a sweater please do a reenforced stitch above the line a few times. Then cut below the stitch line a few inches. The other half of that sweater can become a scarf. Karen, I love the sweater the way it is. ❤️❤️
Agree! Please don't cut it - and if you do then stitch it so that it doesn't fall apart.
Still better: pick up the stitches and knit a new rib edge
Agree. If you cut a knit, you would be able to wear it once only if you’re lucky.
I love the inclusion of Michael in your videos and I love seeing the energy of you two together. Thanks for the awesome content Karen
That's very sweet, thank you!
I agree! ☺️❤️
True 100%

Beautiful winter white coat, my goodness gracious that is beautiful
Wonderful!
You and Michael have made my morning. I also cant wait to wear my hooded black faux fur maxi coat. Its so warm. Thank you Joyce! Whenever possible I want fashion and function at the same time 💪🏾
let me go to the thrift and find a faux fur floor length coat that sounds sooo nice
Yes to snow princesses! All-white is so elegant year-round, but especially in winter, in that sea of dark puffers.
I totally agree!
I am so happy to hear that you have a coat obsession too! I have a whole closet full of coats and jackets and I love them all! Michael's camera shy moment saying "favor," was adorable. Love to you both.

Love it!!
I remember those Norma Kamali coats! so cool but warm at the same time. ;-)
That white on white coat OMG is gold and you look amazing in it
It’s always refreshing to see your diverse and personal clothing and accessories choices.
You two seem like a fantastic couple. I love the realness of your relationship. Your style and videos are wonderful. Thanks.

Your joy is everything! I am like this about my wardrobe. I love my Doc Marten Chelsea boots and one of my many coats.
Fabulous! love the red lips idea with all black. UGGS are awesome, yes maybe not chic shoes but soooo warm!!!
I wish I can wear beautiful boots but they over salt in Canada and everything gets ruined despite boot protection! I look forward to all the videos. The enthusiasm is contagious!

Here's freezing cold too (Toulouse,France) and I'm super excited as I do love the season. Eventhough I'm not a big fan of winter undergarments I found Cos has these slim-fit turtleneck tops perfect to layer underneath other pieces as they are super thin.
Yes! Great choice. I have a emerald green merino that's ace.
I'll have to take a look at COS!
Uniglo's Heattech is fabulous too! Am in Denmark and it gets really cold here too.
I’m already wearing my winter wardrobe…I love my winter clothes! I usually wear cashmere lined leather gloves. Super warm. I have them in several colors. Red, fuchsia, purple, green, tan, black, bronze, pewter....
Love you! Your observations have made me more comfortable about loving what *I* love rather than loving what’s ”in style” right now. Please keep shaing all of your wonderful beauty and enthusiasm. I always feel good about myself and excited about what I’m planning to wear after watching one of your videos.
So agreed on that! A pattern/ .cables must be both on the front and on the back.
You are good at what you do 😘
I love winter style especially coats. My own arm was getting sore watching you hold that fab white coat x love your style
It was not that heavy 😂
I LOVE a great scarf. Here in NC we do not have the cold as long- so wool maybe not so much but blends (cotton, bamboo, a little cashmere and silk) yes. Just seeing you so excited got me excited!😁 I would love to see you wear the black knit dress with the Loewe belt!🔥🔥🔥 Loved the video!😍
I love you and Michael, so very nice and refreshing seeing the two of you. I cant wait to wear my long cardigans. I love, love cardigans. Keep winning Karen. ❤
I’ve been wanting the Max Mara camel coat for ages and I just got it! It makes me so happy every time I wear it. So lush ❤️
Right? it's expensive but my God is it warm and looks brilliant!! Years of waiting worth it since never changed my mind on wanting
I have a vintage Pendleton red and black plaid ankle length coat. It’s awesome (w/toggle buttons made of horn) and super warm.
Sounds lovely!
I love your style, editing, how you portrait the cites and fashionable people. Keep it up♥️

The green beret Karen wow. Obsessed w this shade of forest green
The boots! I was inspired by the ones you have and bought myself a pair. In love. Also, a big scarf.
I think you and Michael are adorable! I think you could call the Pastel blue-green beret “aquamarine” like the gemstone!

Great video and such fun when Michael shows up too! I love an old super warm pullover parka from The Gap that my son wore during college and gifted to me. When it’s freezing here in northern Illinois, that is my go to coat!
That coat sounds great!!
Bloody good selections! (Michael you and Ruby are the cutest!)
Fall and winter are my two favorite months for weather and fashion. I love my Alpaca poncho, boots and gloves.
I too have a weakness for coats. Leather, mohair, linen. I love them all. They dress an outfit.
I love when Michael shows up!
Karen and Michael make me so happy .I enjoy Karen so much.
thank you!

I've cropped and distressed several sweaters and they look great! They fray nicely for a modern look, do it!
Good to know!
You look like you’re in a fancy shop when you’re actually in your closet.
Mf if that ain’t #goals idk what is! 😍😍
I agree. When to shop and shop for things that you love, I feel you would want to wear them over and over with joy. This shopping and shopping and still not happy, well just say that's a different issue someone is having.
Hi, there. You are so fun to watch. And about cropping the sweater, do it! Looking forward to more of your videos. God bless.
Ruby is so cute!! I am surprised you just have snow as I live on the west coast and we had snow and freezing weather.
I live my neck scarves a lot along with my warm boots.
I’m so envious of your camel coat. I love it. You did good there.
It's so good!
I love everything you do. Puffer jacket and vest. Nick warms glove. Hiking boots. Dr's. For me uggs. My hoodie. Keep up great work.
Yes do it !! I’ve done it to some of mine and I love them.
I love this video. I bought a sweater that’s super soft faux fur wrap cropped long sleeved. Thanks for the idea of wearing it over my long mock neck knit dress! Also, I love the miniature Schnauzer cameo , We had one for 16 years - she melted my heart.❤️
Yes, you’re right!
Great video!! I love fall and winter.
I love my Uggs! 💕
I’ve had mine for about 8 years, ....and they’re STILL in great condition!
Loved everything!!! Your style is fabulous!!! Wish I was taller
Yes do it reinforce it first ,sew a based stitch and the let the raw edges hang trim it to your liking! I do it all the time.
Regarding the sleeveless cream sweater dress. You could wear a snow white shirt underneath that dress ..... would be a great look.
Great idea!!
Karen that red lipstick is everything!! You look absolutely stunning!!! 😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻
Thank you so much!! I feel like a look like a clown to be honest with it in this video LOL!
Cashmere is a God’s send 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I can't wait to wear my Vitamina 100% wool green tweed coat I got in Uruguay ages ago. I also have a vintage cashmere long black coat that I can't wait to wear this winter. My favorite Irish sweater and my green puffer combined are the bomb. I have been wearing it across the tunnel in NJ while visiting family. Cheers!! Don't do it!!
Sounds like a great outfit 💪🏾
"FAVOUR" was a well used word with my Jamaican family!
Honestly, I have a yellow pair of Kate Spade mittens with the word Taxi written on one of them that I love! I do not have a Kate Spade budget but I found them on Depop, perfect condition, and grabbed them straight away!
I favor my black calf leather and cashmere gloves from Bloomingdales..
