I think the yellow paper wrap you had the other week give the flower much better aesthetic look than plastic. Plastic make thing look cheap I guess.

Ms. Carolyn! I am so sorry. I just ordered a new microphone that I can wear on my shirt to help with the audio. I am using my phone to video my content and its not the most ideal but its what I have right now. I try to make improvements to my equipment along the way but Its expensive and I have to wait to make baby steps in my improvements. But I am happy to report that I should have mikes in the next few videos. SO please bear with me while I make those adjustments! Thanks for always being here.

I don’t believe it was a failure either. You put yourself and your flowers out there. Those people that went to that afternoon event will remember your name. What an awesome score at the roadside stand AND you have another contact and future client!!! Plus you ended your weekend with a smile on your face. 😊💐

Hey Susie! I am trying to not be too hard on myself about misjudging the event. It's a live and learn moment for sure. I am still happy about the path that the flower farm is taking and the plans we have for next year. I am just taking it all in and trying to learn what I can from each encounter. And having so many supporters to encourage me along the way makes me feel good about it all. Thanks you so much for being here once again. I am really enjoying seeing your IG posts about all the things you are cooking and preserving. I wish I could eat beef again just to try those tacos you made!

@@RowCoFarms I am so looking forward to seeing your flower farm grow. Totally a live and learn situation. Aww, thank you. I LOVE to cook. My kitchen is my happy place. On my days off, no joke and if I am lucky, I literally spend it in my kitchen 😊.

I felt your pain through this entire video. I can barely get people to pop for a $10 bouquet much less a $20 . I do two markets a week. They are small but the people are steady. I will take about ten a week, maybe 4 10.00 and a bunch of smaller jar bouquets and not sell out!!! Everyone comments on how beautiful and how they barely look real but they aren’t buying. I was trimming my tomato plants the other day and remembered my real
Love is growing the veggies so I am going back to that next year. I will still have zinnias and some others and maybe sell the small jar bouquets but I spend 2.5 hours harvesting and another 2 hrs putting them together only to bring some home. My market just isn’t supporting flowers for me. Luckily I also sell leafy greens, herb salts, jams and salsas, and some other home spin craft items. It’s my second full year of flower farming , small that it may be and the work and stress involved just isn’t worth it for me. So happy you found a local buyer! That will at least bring In a steady stream of money for your farm. Those womens’ fairs are more like a social thing where people all go and nobody buys. Sorry you worked so hard for that. If you love it, keep going!!

Hi. I do not live in the US; but my impression is that R$ 50 may be a high out of pocket for a flower bouquet at the moment. People may not see the VALUE of your offer right now as the collective mindset is: how do I save $ to buy the things I used to buy before inflation hit. Nothing wrong with your product.

Hi, so sorry about the flop event. I like the suggestiond of trying to sell some of your overages by either doing a Sunday "pop up" sale at a large church, hospital, brunch restaurante or coffee cafe. Advertise on facebook and other free outlets. Then if no sales Sun/Mon then hang to dry. You can partner with local bakery or cafe to carry few bouquets on SUNDAY for what doesnt sell Fri/Sat. You will find your niche!

Hi Julie, I live in the UK and also sell local produce, I have done a couple of evening ladies events and never found them to be profitable as there is too much choice for people to spend their limited funds on, I believe sticking locally is best as people become regulars and enjoy your products, if you can manage to grow your zinnias to supply to the trade even more perfect as it’s a one stop shop that will take as much as you can give, best of luck, the flowers looked 🥰

Hi Tracey! Thanks so much for your insight. I think I will stick with farmers markets or private bouquet making events from now on. There is so much to learn about this business and I just want to carve out my tiny little piece of it. fingers crossed it all works out. Thanks so much for being here and taking time to comment. Best of luck in your market sales!

Hopefully your connection with the flower wholesaler will offset the cost of the $100 in the year to come! I wonder if the shopping mentality of the Friday night crowd is different than the Farmer’s Market crowd…we expect to go home after the market to put our perishable items away whereas the Friday event ladies might not have wanted to purchase “perishable” flowers if they were going out for dinner/drinks after the event. Wishing you better sales next week!!!

Hi Judy! Thanks for watching! I usually hang the bouquets upside down to dry. I am hoping to use the flowers in dried arrangements later. Maybe it won’t be a total loss if I can sell the stems later down the road. I think you’re right too about the economy and craziness in the world right now. I’m sure people are being more cautious with their spending. I will have to adjust my strategy on selling flowers next year because I believe this economic path we are on will continue for awhile. I appreciate you being here and taking time to share your thoughts. ❤️

You may have had a bad weekend, but You are a success! Your arrangements are gorgeous. I'm so glad you made another contact with the wholesaler. You're getting your name out there. Be proud! Enjoy the peaches and the muscadines. Peaches are my absolute favorite fruit. I love them freeze dried as a snack. Peach jam, peach salsa, peach slices, and peach/vanilla butter is what I have gotten done so far. Thanks for sharing this! You're doing great!

Hey Marti! You reminded me of Forest Gump when you started talking about all the peach stuff! (Shrimp scampi, fried shrimp, boiled shrimp, etc.) lol. All those peach dishes sound amazing! I never got around to freeze drying any of the peaches. Just preserved them as peach butter and bbq sauce and ate a few that were left. Thanks for being here and providing words of encouragement to keep me going! I appreciate it. ❤️

Hi Julie, one thought I had was that the economic conditions are worsening and people are struggling with rising grocery costs. They may be having to cut out any nonessentials from their budget. Did you get a chance to speak with the other vendors? They probably had low sales also. It did look more like a boutique instead of a farmers market Friday night. So sad because as usual, your bouquets were gorgeous. But I really do think many are feeling the pinch already because it’s costing so much just to do the basics. Getting kids back in school also plays a huge factor this time of year. Bless you sweet online friend for all your hard work. 👩‍🌾☀️ 💐

Hi!! I think you are right about the inflation and cost of living. People are having to tighten their purse strings a lot more lately and flowers may seem like e an uncessary item when food and fuel is so costly. I will have to account for that in future events and markets. I have to keep things affordable for the customer but profitable for me. Its such a balancing act. I hope to get it nailed down a bit more as the years progress. I appreciate you giving me some insight on what you think is happening. I like to hear perspectives and what I can do to effectively sell my flowers. Thanks again for being here and taking time to share your thoughts.

Such beautiful flowers! Beautiful bouquets! I am so happy for you, making that connection with the wholesaler! Love the peaches you found! Those looked delicious! I am so sorry that you didn’t sell all that you wanted to! I really think it’s the economy. If I was there, I’d have bought your flowers! I love fresh flowers and will buy at least one bouquet, sometimes two, so I can give one to my daughter, when we go to the farmer’s market! Maybe God is leading you into the direction of the wholesaler! You never know where He leads us!

I feel for you. You put so much time and energy into your flowers. I live on a limited budget. For me this time of year I'm buying up fresh fruits and vegetables to put away. I think a lot of people are having a hard time paying bills and they can't go out and buy your beautiful flowers

    • @RowCoFarms

Hi! That yo so much for being here and taking time to comment. I think you are right that the economy is takings toll on all aspects of all industries and I can't expect mine to be any different. Flowers can definitely be seen as an unnecessary expense so I understand the need to cover other costs before buying flowers. I will have to learn to adjust and find a balance between making a profit and making things affordable. I will find a way! Thanks so much for your thoughts, I appreciate the perspective of my viewers.

Some vlogging advice. Talk less and don’t repeat your shots or your words. We don’t always have to see your face when you talk. You can video your surroundings while you talk. Tell us the name of your flowers while your harvesting or handling them so viewers know what type of flower your talking about.
