  • In this video, photographer Aries Tao decided to craft a fashion campaign set at the Grand Canyon using the power of AI. He seamlessly transitions from designing backgrounds to shooting in the studio, all while leveraging AI to create stunning visuals.
In his studio setups, Aries Tao relies on Godox lighting essentials. Two #AD300PROs with 165 cm diffusion umbrellas eliminate shadows, while an #AD1200PRO creates skylights. Mimicking midday sun, an #AD-S200, enhanced by a 1/4 CTO gel, adds warmth. Another #AD300PRO acts as a reflector.

AI can be a great tool, if used carefully and Aries just proved it 😁. I would love to get the AD200Pro to add it to my Godox AD300Pro and open a huuuuge range of lighting possibilities 😍

Have never really thought much about the AI aspect for putting a model into the scene so smoothly!! This was a really great demonstration and love the use of the #ad200pro light for harsh but not bad light and shadow control!!
    Great educational work!!

I want you to use more gels in the next episodes. Most of the time, the sun is a CTS(Color Temperature Straw), not a CTO. Try using Lee 443 or 444 instead of 206. 159 or 103 are also fine. There are 162 and 013 in Godox Color Filter kits(like v11c, sa-11c, vsa-11c), so you can also try to play with them if you want to market Godox products. And I would like to see some colder shadows. 1/2 CTB is the most basic solution here, but there are 063, 196, 075 and even 116(it's actually not so green when used with a daylight lightsource) in Godox kits for more artistic sky options. By the way, nice work using AD1200 to generate ambient color in such a huge area, I really liked this part. And I totally agree about the work with lighting saving time in the post. Cheers!

It’s great to have an understanding of how Ai can used as a tool along side a great lighting set up. I love the way you use the lights to create a realistic look to match the environment. I would love my own AD200 Pro!

Very inspiring tutorial! I love how we can imitate natural light using the right lighting tools in the studio. Generating backgrounds and objects with AI and combining them with photography the possibilities are endless! Thank you!!

AI results are awful. Truly awful.

It doesn't look real, it appears as though she's standing in front of a mural.

I think it's okay in this case as the goal seems to have been a theatrical effect, like a movie poster, rather than a realistic scene. But it would be interesting to see how he would accomplish blending the model convincingly into an AI scene with near, middle, and far planes. I had to do a shot like this last month, putting a model into an AI-generated 19th-century European street scene… what I ended up doing was including a fake AI model in the scene, using her as a reference for posing and lighting the real model, then erasing the AI model and putting the real model in her place. It worked, but I wasn't really satisfied with the process and would like to see a better way to do it!
