You are a STAR!!!thank thank thank. my 1 year old Ecodan started playing up showing Error code U2 on new years day😢 shut down the heat pump l. Everything is closed. I thought it automatically goes in to emergency mode. Thank you so much.
Hi. Your videos really are (1) a godsend and (2) the only YT channel that explains how these things work in plain English. Re this video and getting hot water, I’ve changed the set up as illustrated but just wanted to know if I can still use the “remote control” to press/hold the top left button in order to get hot water asap?!? Thanks a million for all your videos - excellent channel. 👍👍👍
Hey @jayedgardyson1920, Yes absolutely ! when you press and hold the tap symbol on the wireless remote, this is a 1 hour boost function, so even if your hot water is set to a timer, and you reuqire hot water outside of the timed period, for example during peak times or when you have more usage, the tank will heat to the required temperature and automatically switch off. things will then revert back to normal :) . also thanks for your feedback, it is much appreciated.
also, just an afterthought, have you changed the settings as shown in this video because you've not been getting hot water ? this video is generally for emergencies only which may mean you have an issue with the heat pump?
Videos are great thanks. I have the above system with 2 wireless thermostats. The unit has suddenly stopped talking to the upstairs unit and now the heating is being controlled only by temp in downstairs. Any idea how I get it to reconnect the 2nd thermostat?
Today I was told by the technician that the compressor has issues in the outdoor. So, the idea then was to use the emergency heater for water production until the heat pump is fixed. The technician did some wiring change in the indoor unit and then he left with the assumption that the heater will kick in 15 minutes and we will have hot water again after 10 hours. However after 5 hours passed the water temperature remain where it was 5 hours ago. So, I started worrying and found your video. I went straight into the service menu but unfortunately I do not have that option to change the source from Standard to Heater. I left messages for the technician but it is Saturday and he may not answer me until Monday. Is there anything I can do?
@attilahogye7966 your installer likely has immersion heater disabled inside the FTC panel which means it won't find the heater mode. Before he left he should have checked for the lightening bolt symbol coming on top right of the main controller, if this was activated it would have kicked in immediately
@@attilahogye7966 I can potentially help remotely, do you have a pre plumbed cylinder ? Or 3rd party, and do you know the FTC model ? I.e FTC 4'5 or 6 ?
Not sure if you'll reply to me, but I'm trying to increase my water temperature by following your excellent video, but unfortunately the notepad icon is missing! Can you advise how I get it back please? I know it was on there previously. Many thanks.
Heya, make sure you press and hold the note pad button until it prompts you into the next menu then go to hot water and you should see the note pad button icon
Hi. Good video. Quick question. I my ecodan does the heating no problem, but when I turn on hot water I it's automatically in the goes to L9. What maybe the problem?its same cylinder as shown on this video
@@renewableheatingengineer8537 so the valve wasn't the issue, I've used a Central heating cleaner. After a treatment I've washed the system. There was a lot of black sediment. I mean a lot. Now system works as usual.
Hi some great videos and information!!! Need some help my ecodan keep jumping back and forward from air pump to immersion when calling for hot water how do I stop immersion turning on,setting is (standard) know it kick in to do legionnaires cycle at the end but this is happening at the start and in between cycles any help b much appreciated thanks les
@@leshutch3166 heya, it sounds like your heat pump has an issue if it's bringing on the immersion during normal operation, after a certain amount of time during hot water, if the heat pump doesn't provide enough temperature to increase the tank temp, it will usually revert back to the immersion. I would get an installer to take a look for you !
Hi Lisa, I would say this is your legionnaires cycle kicking in. Check out my video on setting legionnaires and turn it off if you wish .. this will stop that heating up when your not calling for it.
@@renewableheatingengineer8537 It was thank you! I’ve put it to every 15 days instead of 7. I was trying to work out how much it costs to heat water an hour everyday when it doesn’t get used ? And just over run it if I wanted a bath not electric shower. Cheers ! Heating not on yet…I find it very expensive even at 17 degrees 😕 Great videos !
When you say immersion wouldn't heat the house for hours ? this is only for hot water, the back up heating doesn't do heating unless you have an inline element on the heating circuit.
Hi David, Usually we see this comment when the customer has been let down by the installer, could you provide a brief description of your issues, experience, the technology and manufacturers take a pasting unfortunately usually down to the installers them selves...
Again .. apologies for the quality, hope this helps some of you during winter 🙏

Nice to know, thank you
Do u have to change it nack to normal or does it do it itself? My fan stopped working outside.
no,you need to change this back to standard once the heat pump is fixed

Hi Stephen, is it the Mitsubishi wireless stat you are using or 3rd party controls such as honeywell etc ?

sounds like your 3 port valve is faulty, if its working in heating but not hot water it means the flow rate isnt there when in hot water mode.
Hello. Today I've acquired the new valve. I'll replace it tomorrow
