Cave City Wigwam Village No. 2 | Kentucky

OBSCURIST TOURIST 121 - The historic Wigwam Village No. 2 in Cave City, Kentucky, has offered travelers and back-road explorers a unique sleeping experience for over 80 years. The second of two Wigwam Villages in Kentucky was built in 1937, when Americans were just beginning to discover the joys and excitement of the road trip, the Cave City Wigwam Village became a popular stop on long trips north and south. Even Eleanor Roosevelt wrote about it in one of her daily newspaper columns. Imagine driving along a two-lane country road when suddenly up ahead you see Wigwam Village’s white teepees and distinct neon sign - “Sleep And Eat In A Wigwam.” Today, this fantastical sight still lures motorists to pull over and stay a night or at least stop for a photo or two.

Great video! Ive seen other youtubers stay here,they've claimed they can't record here and that the owner charged their credit cards upwards of 500 dollars for filming with out permission

Yeah, I believe a lot of people used to have trouble with the owner at the wigwam village in California. That guy was a nightmare, but I believe the ownership there has changed. This particular Village has a new owner as well - but he seemed passionate about rejuvenating this place back to its former glory.
