I remember going into Lost River Cave back in 1982 when it was filled with trash of all sorts. Even an old Volkswagen, I am very happy to see what the University and the city of Bowling Green has done with this one of a kind site. I have been back a few times since 1982 and look forward to going back again.
I lived in Bowling Greem from 1974 -1980 about 2 miles from the cave. At that time there was nothing to see other than the entrance. There were old "gears" or something I'm guessing was part of the old mill. There were no trails or anything else, it was all overgrown. It was a scary place, to be honest. I remember the stories about Jesse James. Thanks for the video it's great to see they made something nice out of it. I moved to S. Florida in 1980 and I miss the caves, we don't have basements down here. :-( Thanks again.
Thank you for sharing your video. I am going on a road trip with a bus group, and one of our stops is in Blowing Green Kentucky. And I had no idea about the lost river caves. Hopefully we will have enough time to at least take the boat tour. Take care, and thank you again for sharing. 😊
Tommy is an automotive guy from Detroit. We still have to do the Vette Museum video. But just an FYI, The first 300 Corvettes were hand built at a plant in Flint, Michigan in 1953. Production was moved the next year to a facility in St. Louis, Missouri and then finally ended up in 1981 at the Bowling Green Assembly Plant.
@@HowToHaveFunOutdoors Learn something new everyday. I knew they started in Michigan, didn’t know they moved somewhere else until the 80’s… I stand corrected.
i will be going to mammoth caves in 3 weeks. if i can plan ir right i will check this out too. i will be driving from CT so that will be a long haul. corvette museum sounds boring. caves and biking more fun.
I live in Bowling Green, and I think it's funny how excited you guys were about something I drive past every day! This is probably the city's best green space, you should come back and check out Hobson Grove :)
Would love too. We agree. We live in NH, and we could do 50 videos on this amazing place and we are always traveling. Then I pull up a NH video and we are like why didn’t we do that. It is 30 min away. Thanks for watching How To Have Fun Outdoors!

This one of our older videos. We have since mastered this. But for whatever reason, TH-cam is pushing it. Sorry about that. I agree looking back at now. But it is still a cool place most people don’t know about!
We just went to a wedding that was held in the cave opening last weekend and it was an amazing place to see.

There are so many Limestone Caves in that area, that is why the Corvette museum collapsed into a sinkhole a little over a decade ago... Nice video 👍

1080 is the best quality! But, Bowling Green KY is home to every production Corvette since the 1950's.
