This was a helpful video. I'd say "no snow" is a pro in my book since I don't like driving in it. If things work out, I may be moving to the area, so I'll keep you in mind.
Was fun to watch this.. was feeling nostalgic about my E'town days back in the mid 80s-early 90s. I remember walking to Hardin Central every day to school and riding my bike all over town. Was just talking to some old friends about how all of the cornfields and woods got replaced by neighborhoods. It's been a long time since I've been there though, it's probably even more different now.
This was such an EXCITING-Happy video! Thank you for the Pros and Cons List! My husband is retired Army and we were encouraged to check out ETown as a great place to live. Headed that way in May 2023!!! Yay!
My husband and I are moving to Etown around March of 2023 and watching this video for us the cons were actually more pro than they would be for other people. We are coming from Alabama and I am so excited to be moving. Your video cemented my decision to move to Etown and it has made it so much more exciting for me so thank you so much!
I was surprised to see shopping as a Con. I live in Brandenburg and find myself going to Etown for ALOT of my shopping needs.. Etown is a great community 👍
I recently moved to rural Green County- half hour south of E-Town, all the way from Oregon! I commute to E-town every week for groceries and supplies. As inexpensive as Elizabethtown is for its size, property prices are FAR cheaper out here in the rural, and it's more beautiful and peaceful... But you've got to be OK with a small drive to get your goods. Well worth it, I payed cash for my house and land, and I'm on a limited income. My place has a partially forested acre, beautiful and quiet except being on hwy 61. I payed for an acre, but enjoy the privacy of 20+ acres. I like Elizabethtown, especially the newer part. I consider it a 'right-sized' town, but I'm glad I'm just 1/2hour from it- Just my preference. Bowling Green seems very nice if it weren't for all the tornados! I love Corvettes. All in all, I feel Kentucky is a relatively underappreciated gem, and that makes it one of the best decisions of my life!
I've a special memory with E-Town ! Back in 1995, on my way to Minnesota from Mobile,Alabama, I missed my greyhound bus while it stopped for rest room, snacks break, I can clearly recall that bus stop was on a straight forest road with just a cafe . When I returned from restroom, literally 10 mins later, bus was already gone . Next bus was after few hours towards Louiville . I was kinda scared as a19 year old like what to do next ? Anyways called a taxi from payphone and checked-into a motel, ordered dominos delivered by a beautiful girl aaahhh... I still remeber her. Watched cable TV, Forest gump on HBO , then took cab again to bus stop then the journey continued towards MN .
We traveled to the danville / liberty / Harrodsburg last year . Love kentucky. Is Elizabethtown and the say 40 mile radius surrounding similar in Land / farming and cost to the areas we looked ? We are escaping central New mexico soon. Happy trails from Edgewood New Mexico.
Biggest Con ( for me that is) is restaurants and verity of restaurants. Mexican, Japanese,, Chinese, Thai, Indian and so on, they’re beyond horrible! I’ve tried most of every Mexican restaurant that e-town has to offer and it’s just really disappointing to say the least. Well, coming from San Diego and LA being a hop skip and jump away and Tijuana literally down the street, Mexican food was amazing. Sorry to be so blunt but if the restaurants here was half this bad in San Diego? They would most likely close in a short few months. And the verity of restaurants are very limited. One thing I do agree 100%, this is a great place to raise a family. People here are generally nice, respectful and polite. Once in a blue moon, you’ll come across some of these bad apples but not as bad as where I just came from. Aside from the disappointment from extremely limited family entertainment and/or basically things to do here, in my opinion, the safety and security what this town provides supersedes all that. My family is adjusting but we’re happy! Can’t put a price tag on that. Ps- what’s with the people here driving like they all own a Lamborghini? Old or young, most exceeds the speed limit. I was actually really shocked how everyone here speeds. Cops too!
Hey I do have a question my hubby job is located in Ohio but wanting to move to ky, my question is , is there a truck friendly city/ neighborhood that won’t get mad if they see a truck part of a semi park in the drive way ? I’m asking cause where I live at now I can’t cause naighbors complain and I live in nj !!!
Can you recommend a good retirement community? I'm thinking of moving into the area from Missouri. I'm 62 years young and E Town sounds nice. My son and his family live near Bonnieville. I'm not retired military but I did serve so I like the sound of your town and my son works for Fort Knox.
Thanks for the information, I just remembered that I liked working for them years ago,the Japanese people seemed to like me because I worked 72 hours a week.
Speaking as someone who lived in E-town for many years. THE WORST by far is the Gossip. People there are just terrible for being Gossips. Also the contractors over charge shamelessly, are crocked and take advantage of the elderly. Worst place I have ever lived. I will never go back.
I am a black male raised my entire life in Hardin county Kentucky.People are not openly racist to your face but good luck finding any kind of work. You have to drive to Louisville ky to find any kind of barely decent work. Not worth the move if you are black moce to the Atlanta metro , Raleigh Durham, Dallas, Houston, if you are old and white ky is for you.

Is Akebono Ambrake still a very reputable factory to work long hours at in E-Town?
@@centralkentuckyliving Would I have to go through a temporary service to work for Akebono?IF SO,WHAT IS THE NAME OF IT?

How far is Bowling Green from E Town? I'm looking at finding a few acres with 15 minutes or so away from BG.
1 hour and 15 minute drive. Maybe Plum Springs, Hadley or Rockfield.

Yes small town feel
Hey @missionaries7575! What would you say is your favorite part of living here? 😄
Any movies, casinos, or amusement parks in the area?
Elizabethtown is such a pretty name that when people butcher it to "E-town" and say it repeatedly fast, it sounds like a donkey braying !!! LOL !!!
Hey @debbiemajorphotography7272! Are there any particular neighborhoods or areas you’d like me to cover?
E-town is going to get worse too! the traffic is going to get bad!
I'm sorry to hear about your negative experience @TheDarrin10! What else happened?😱

Probably should start with pros vs cons.
