Yo! yes! haha sometimes i warm up my lids so they are a lil more flexible to put on the cyl.
Yep tip that was shown to me is to put on one edge and lift up and over so one side is completely on makes affixing the rest of the edges much easier

What state is this from? I don’t believe that you can use an open hand.
In Massachusetts we are permitted to use an open hand on molds susceptible to damage such as the plastic one in this video

In Kentucky you can’t use a mallet only open hand
