    Very useful.
    I just wished you had the lab apparatus detailed in the description box .
    And the procedures ( trying to do a lab report) .
    Ahah

    so i just poured the 60th floor of a skyscraper.. and the 4th floor cylinders were tested and failed at 250 PSI... what do I do? add a zero to the number or should I let the consultants know?

      I hope you let the consultants know! Wouldn't want a lawsuit!

    How does stress vary with 'h'..?

    the rupture of the test piece is not correct, if you plan (by rectification) the two loading faces, the test result is more reliable and the mode of rupture is correct.

    What was the rate of loading used?

    What does the symbol Ac in the equation represent please ?

      Cross area: which means the circle surfarce where the force is applied. Since it's a circle --> Ac= πD²/4

    what water cement ratio did you use for the specimen?

      Impossible to tell. Trucks add water all the time

      pressure is more as less cross sectional area

    I did 1000's of these,but just went by the machine #'s. No measuring, or cutting.

    What unit of pressure is ips?

    • @gregoryharkins5592

      KIPS is to pounds what a kilogram is to a gram. 1 KIPS=1000 pounds

    • @WillLightfoot

      @gregoryharkins5592 yeah. What a kilo is, wasn't the question. I understand what a thousand psi or kpsi is, but never seen it written ips. Are we just jumbling words in whatever order now?

    • @gregoryharkins5592

      @@WillLightfoot KIPS isn't a unit of pressure, it's a unit of weight. I did mess up that on my original reply, but I fixed it after I sent it

    • @WillLightfoot

      @@gregoryharkins5592that would be klbs. It was writen with an I: kips

    • @WillLightfoot

      Oh, you're saying they're idiots and it should say klbs on top, divided by the area in inches squared, and then equals kpsi not ksi. Gotcha. Makes sense now... I mean not that they used the wrong labels, but at least the math works.

    what is the point of this video without talking....this isnt how the labs take place with banjos playing in the background

      But I bet you wish they did

    • @calmegpascal4284
      @calmegpascal4284 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes it can do both, soothing focused music, or talking to the block to fail higher at a nice half hour glass shape

    • @heartobefelt
      @heartobefelt 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sorry but these banjos were in fact made of concrete so they are compliant to the building code.
