- Treasure Planet is easily one of Disney's more underrated films out there. I was worried that CinemaSins would hate it, because they hated Emperor's New Groove, but thankfully, according to their description, they seemed to like it ok. But the video was still sinful, so...
Disclaimer: I don't have much ill will towards CinemaSins, I just want to point out the many mistakes they've made in their videos.

This film, while amazing, does have genuine flaws. But no; let's pad out the runtime with college girlfriends, instead of actually exploring those.
It’s not even that a couple cartoons bombed, rather they were actively sabotaged. Treasure planet itself was actively sabotaged to be overshadowed by lilo and stitch.
I genuinely don’t understand Jeremy complaining about Jim only having his mom around. Jim’s dad leaving IS different from most Disney films. Other Disney movies that have the protagonist with one parent, the other had died. I can’t think of any other animated film where a parent leaves besides this one

I've said it before and I'll say it again this movie's biggest sin was it was under advertised after being development for 17 years and facing off against Harry Potter James Bond and lord of the rings at the box office among other things
Missed SinSins
1:02 Jeremy admits that he only Sins logos as an outlet for his anger.
2:23 This is an intentional misdirect/red herring. And it's a common trope to have reputations not match the actual character.
3:19 Santa Claus WAS based on a real person, who's story was exaggerate and mystified. The same could be true of the Treasure Planet story as far as the mom knows, and maybe she does believe it was based on a true story, even if she didn't know how true.
4:51 No, this movie came out long before Ahsoka did, so if anything, it's the other way around.

6:01 Jeremy not thinking that the captain could be a woman sounds more like a Sin for him for having sexist opinions. I don't think anyone found it surprising that the captain was a woman, only that it wasn't who we were led to believe.

And what about Clayton getting hung in Tarzan, which came out before this movie? The REAL Sin would be that this futuristic society still uses hanging as a death sentence.
14:13 The REAL Sin is that a single pirate was able to construct this entire planet's structure by himself. Unless he killed everyone else involved with it, which would be an astronomical number of people.

13:25 Yeah, honestly, I’m not even huge into those franchises, and even I’m annoyed when people conflate _Star Wars_ and _Star Trek_ just because they both have “Star” in the title. It would be like conflating _The Pirates of the Caribbean_ with _The Pirates of Penzance_ just because they both have “pirates” in the title.
Trust me, you have *no idea* how many times my mum kept bringing up Johnny Depp when we went to watch _The Pirates of Penzance_ down at the Mockingbird Lounge in Glenelg.
8:40 Thanks. I get really really sick of that whole "Why does every Disney protagonist have only one parent?" considering all those examples you just listed. Not to mention a lot of those characters with dead mothers are from different periods of time where dying from childbirth was fairly common. I mean can people just actually watch the actual films instead of getting their critiques from BuzzFeed articles?
Another great video, and I have three things to say:
1. I really enjoyed this movie the first time I saw it, and I rate it a 9/10.

Great video, and nice you went back to that route of editing to get the video up. I, too, found it annoying that Jeremy sinned THIS MOVIE for future Disney movies going full CGI; just as bad as sinning classic Disney movies for the modern Disney logos.

I real hate Jeremy's fake wokeness its stupid to point out things that arent issues like there sins and two the captain having a family dont make her less badass that just makes her more badass cus shes a bad ass mother ehos a captain like the hell?
I haven't seen the Alien movies but uh... isn't Sigourney Weaver's character a mother? And isn't she considered one of the most badass characters in film history? Because if he says something positive about that, then he truly is coming across as pretty damn hypocritical here.
Also, does he not realise that men want kids too? Who does he think are meant to knock up the women who want kids?
Heck, if anything, men have more to gain from having kids, since we're usually the ones who keep our maiden names upon marriage, ergo we get to keep the family name alive by passing it on.
