For me it's the fact that the nearest Saphora is almost a three hour drive, and then its only in a Kohls... I like to see foundation products. I struggle with color matches. Not everyone has access to Sephora or Ulta. Drugstore is accessible to all.
As far as I am concerned, drugstore refers to price. I don't usually buy my lower priced products at an actual drugstore. I usually get them at Target, Ulta, and Amazon.
I think ulta/sephora/target/amazon etc are all fair game! Even harder-to-find retailers like yesstyle I’m down to hear about the product, giving us a heads up that it’s a little tougher to find is plenty 😊
Ooooh.... I love that Wet & Wild Tinted Hydrator! I'm full-on oily mature skin and that product is fantastic, but it only looks good for about five hours on me if I don't top it with a powder foundation. (Yes, I'm THAT oily.) As for the drugstore vs drugstore pricing issue.... I'm more concerned about pricing than location. Let's face it, we can purchase nearly anything online and have it delivered nowadays. Less social people like me love to shop online vs actually going to the store. It's so...people-y out there, LOL!
Those are my thoughts on the pricing/stores issue. When it comes to drugstore, you never know what's going to be in stock and where, so instead of running all around town, I'd rather shop those products online anyway! People-y...love it! 🤣
I am particularly found of the Revlon Illuminance foundation. I have dry, mature skin with texture and visible pores. This foundation smooths and blurs all of that and still allows my skin to look like skin. The glow doesn't magnify any negatives. I'm glad to see it's one of your favorites, too. 😊
I was just coming here to see if you had the Wet N Wild Tinted Hydrator on this list, and I'm so happy you did. I've had that "foundation" for a while and just tried it recently. It's so beautiful and lasts all day! I couldn't believe it. I've been using it with the Wet N Wild Matte Primer and the Impossible Primer. Such a cheap combo and it looks better than my high end products do.
The L’Oréal 4-1 has been a staple for me for several years. I use a foundation brush to apply and get great medium plus coverage and it’s so natural looking and comfortable. Love it. Hadn’t worn it in a bit, been trying some new things but actually wore it the past few days ❤❤ so good.
The Wet n Wild Tinted hydrator is my everyday light to medium foundation. I swear I would pay a pretty penny for this product! Thankfully it is very affordable lol
To me, the term 'drug store' refers more to the price of the product. However, in thinking about it, there are probably some folks who may live near a Walgreens or CVS, but not an Ulta, Sephora, or other higher-end retailer. So from that perspective, it may be more important where they can source the product.
To me too-if it was JUST drug store that wouldn’t include grocery store, Walmart, Target etc. for me it’s a price range. Like About Face is typically in the (current) “drugstore” price range. Plus I just want to hear about all the goodies!
Stephanie. Please continue giving us the full scope of products on the drugstore makeup. What does it matter if it's from the actual " drugstore " or not . Thanks . You added for our opinion and you got it ❤😊
I agree with all your selections. After a trip to Europe in the summer heat I realized I desperately need a no-budge long lasting humility proof foundation. I will pick up the Nyx next summer. My everyday favorite is the L’Oreal age perfect radiant foundation. I used to use the true match 😊
I love the Nyx won’t stop can’t stop foundation! I went to the coast North of Colombia were is hot and humid 365 days and it work beautifully! It keep me shine free and it lasted all day long! Now I mix it with other foundations when I want to add long lasting-less shine to my face!
Fantastic video! Thanks so much for mentioning alcohol and fragrances. Having dry skin and being very sensitive to smells, it’s very useful information. 😊
Thank you for all the info on each one of these. Plus, explaining the water-based/ silicone-based difference and how to identify them. This was very helpful❤
I agree for the most part, it’s the price that matters most regarding a drugstore video. However, I don’t appreciate the need to pay for shipping or have minimum purchase for free shipping. I do like Sephora because they offer free shipping, on the regular.
I bought the cover girl after you reviewed it before. It looked ok after application, but I wasn’t blown away. And then it wore SO well! I tried applying it a different way and now I love it! I use a damp sponge. I usually use my fingers but not with this. This is now one of my faves!
I agree. I think "drugstore" should pertain to price. For one reason, where I live (in SE Columbus, OH) all the major drugstore chain stores truly suck and have little to no inventory of cosmetic & beauty products. Hence, it's SO much easier and consistent to be able to buy the "drugstore" type products through Amazon, Ulta, etc....
Hi Stef! I'm your biggest fan! I never miss a video and I LOVE this one! You're exactly correct about the drugstore/pricing issue. Those people who made those comments are being ridiculous & picky, LOL! You're a PRO! I am purchasing 3 of your recommendations so far, including the Loreal Age Perfect Balm, I've heard fabulous things about it, and now, hearing YOU endorse it, I'm in! 😘😘😘
Thank you so very much Stephanie Marie, for doing another wonderful video on drugstore foundations.I really appreciate it, and I absolutely Love you. ❤️🥰❤️
I regularly use the L'Oréal Infalliable foundation. It gives me great coverage and does last...until my face gets too greasy and my glasses smudge the makeup on my nose. I might have to take your advice and try the Fit Me foundation to combat the shine. That, or buy some blotting papers for my purse. Thanks for all this info! I try to spend less on foundation so I can spend more on lipstick and eyeshadow, but I still want quality foundation.
I actually love when you include other products at the same price along with drugstore! I just wanted to tell you that because I’d hate to see you stop including things you authentically love in those videos! Keep doing you!❤️ You know what you’re doing and do a fantastic job at it! We have the same skin type with a very close shade match, your videos have been super helpful!
You really need to use a separate sunscreen on your face, cause you won’t use enough if it is included in the foundation. 2 finger lengths is recommended…leave on for at least 10-15 minutes, then apply your make-up.
Im 42 with nornal leaning dry skin and live in Michigan with all the seasons and every possible weather outcome. HOWEVER, all of Stephanie's recommendations work for me and I actualy use! That says something I think. The Loreal 4 in 1 balm and the Wet n Wild tinted Hydrator are my 2 go-tos for daily wear. Im a Mom of a preschooler and a toddler and work full time. I need no fuss makeup that I can slap on, blends easily, helps me feel put together with no fuss and run out the door. These foundation recommendations do just that.
When I think, or see the word Drugstore, I think of a Price. I understand that not Everyone lives near an Ulta etc… but all of these places have Websites that products can be bought from ❤❤ Love your videos!
Thanks for doing this video! To me, "drugstore" mostly relates to price. I love the L'oreal True Match but I really want to try some of these other foundations you mention, especially the Wet & Wile Tinted Hydrator.
I agree with others here who consider “drugstore” more related to price than the place you purchase it. Many of us shop Sephora online and would love to know if there are reasonably priced foundations that work well which we can buy there.
I really appreciate and look forward to your reviews. Especially‘drugstore’. And no I don’t care if they are at Ulta, Sephora or Amazon lol. I have the L’Oréal balm and true match, covergirl clean and Catrice. I’m 59 and I always wear primers for my pores. Now you’ve got me wanting to try the Madeline Fit Me foundation. Good thing the price is right. Thank you
Drugstore makeup to me means lower priced products not necessarily having to purchase them at an actual drugstore. In many Target and Kohl’s stores there’s an Ulta or Sephora department but if you don’t live close to one I’d think Amazon would be a good option if the local Walgreens or CVS doesn’t carry it.
So many of my all time favorites in this video. Great lineup! I have dry 49 yo skin for reference. One I would add would be the L’Oréal Age Perfect serum foundation. It’s my all time favorite. 😍 It’s not heavy and feels perfect on my skin. I look at my skin at the end of the day and feel like my skin looks great. 😊 There’s only a few foundations I can say that about. Most on this list!
Hi Stephanie I think affordable prices doesn’t mean only available in a certain location (depending where you live will determine where you can buy whatever product tbh). My biggest problem with many of these is the shade selection with those of us at the extreme ends of the spectrum poorly catered to in more affordable products overall. I’m extremely dry with rosacea and eczema plus I am fully menopausal and live in Scotland- I also have high demands from a base product in different ways. Best wishes x
To me drugstore is something you can find at all drugstores or walmart. Not evrery town or person has availability to an Ulta or sephora. Thank you for this video, though it helps me find what I need at Walmart.😊
I recently fell in love with the Wet N Wild Tinted Hydrator. The only thing that would make it better would be if it had SPF in it. Thank you for the recommendation...I love it!
OMGOSH, I think I own all of these but 2, the Covergirl BB and the NYX foundations haven't made it to my vanity yet. The only one that I've struggled with is the Catrice, and I know it's loved by so many. Maybe I need to try it again!!! I LOVE your foundation videos, always so helpful, thank you!!! 60, balanced
I have normal to a combo Tzone and love loreal fresh water and Catrice True Skin. Almay biome foundation is also really nice. One thing that I've found helps almost any found look good on me is I use daily liquid exfoliant and retinol every night. I apply the liquid exfoliant first, and 30 minutes later, I apply retinol cream. In the morning, I use vitamin C serum and spf 50. A gentle cleanser for both the day and night. I like Olay gentle foaming cleanser with birch water.
I'm eying off NYX CSWS rn, it's on sale. Got WnW coming from US too! CG Matte BB is amazing (also US import) but too dark. Ditto Catrice and Revlon. Lovely formulas. Revlon, why? In the 90s Colorstay Ivory was the lightest foundation we could get. This one is brown. Aussies: if True Match 0.5N/C are too dark, 0.5W is distinctly lighter. Amazon US has it (shipping is high). We've got a reformulated, new bottle L'Oreal Infallible now, the bottle you're holding is on clearance. It's on its way now too lol. You might wanna check that out in the US to see if the formula has changed or if it's just a new bottle. I've not tried the one you've got 'cos of the fragrance so I can't compare for you. Still has fragrance :/ I just impulse bought 'cos it was half-price.
You had me at drugstore. Although! I've been loving the new CT stick foundation. It makes my skin look amazing. I have to powder the stuffing out of it because I'm combo to oily. But it's beautiful. Other than that, I love any L'oreal foundation. I love the Wet N Wild matte Photofocus, the Covergirl with the red lid. I'm still testing the Catrice foundation with the dropper.
Thank you for your post. I think “drugstore” is more of a price point reference. “Affordable” is more relative to the individual…$30 vs $300 sunglasses will be affordable based on one’s ability to pay. Thank you for sharing regarding the ingredients…silicone, fragrance etc. Great job! 👏🏻
No ELF foundation, mainly the new natural foundation in the clear tube? It has a nice satin finish for every day. Just wondered why that didn't make the list. Especially compared to the wet n wild bare focus foundation in a tube, which I also like. 🌞🌺
Hi! As I said in the video, not everything can make my top 10. I like it but like others better. Although it's pretty, I get shinier than I like during warm and hot months here, which we've been having. Full review is here: th-cam.com/video/sjHPrNfM-FQ/w-d-xo.html Others win out over it for me personally. But everyone is different!
My two currently used foundations are the LOreal True Match and LOreal Infallible. I'm interested in trying the newly packaged/ formulated Covergirl and the Maybelline Fit Me.
I really appreciate your thorough reviews of foundations at all price ranges. It is the canvas for every other makeup product so it’s the most important one to get right. I’m 78 with skin on drier side. Other than Dior Forever Matte which I use for special occasions, all my foundations are drugstore priced. I love LOreal True Match Tinted Serum, Revlon Illuminance, LOreal Age Perfect Radiant and I like LOreal True Match and WnWild Tinted Hydrator. Haven’t found a Maybelline foundation I like nor tried Covergirl in years. Might give the new Elf one a go but frustrated it’s not sold in stores. What’s that strategy all about? I recently discovered Joah BB Cream at CVS which I also like. To keep any foundation from settling into my labial folds and the lines around my mouth I use a primer in those area. My favorite but discontinued primer is the LOreal Magic Perfector Base. Currently searching for a new primer that does the same job.
The cant stop foundation was so dry and crusty on my dry skin. I used the matching primer though too and it could've been the primer honestly. I never tested it again 😂
Drug store prices are getting high also depending on where you shop (amazon beats Walgreens, and CVS) I do think that Many Drug store foundation are just as good as High End (so many now a days) just like seeing good reviews ( I am 59 and getting to the Point that I am more into skincare BUT love my makeup
Thank you for this review. They all look great on you. It's so helpful! I've tried a couple of high-end foundation samples as I'm trying to find one for the changing season. They didn't work out. There's a few in this review list that I've used and have forgotten about, but they all worked well for me, so I have a few in mind and will go shopping!
Can you add one more amazing piece of content when reviewing foundation? Add shade names and level of color (fair, light, light-medium, medium, medium deep) and then undertone (pink, neutral, warm, olive). I wish every brand would do what Lauder does. They list theirs such as: Ivory Nude 1N1 / Ecru 1N2 / Desert Beige 2N1. 1 (fair) N (neural) 1 (depth of shade in fair range). This would be so helpful when introducing a product.❤ Thank you. Love your videos!
Hi! In my long foundation roundups where I initially review them, I do that. I keep the “top foundation” reviews a bit more condensed since they run longer, so I sometimes eliminate that. I’ll try to remember it for the next one. But if you’re looking for it, you can check the original video review or the linked product source in my description box! Thank you! 💗
Drugstore is getting priced higher and higher. Because they know it’s still cheaper. But luxury is raising it even more !! I need to try the loreal and maybelline
Hi Stephanie Marie it’s Jenny. Have you ever heard of? Gua sha? Is it good? Should I do it? I’m asking you because I’m 59 and you have really good skin and I want to keep my skin looking good.
Hi! I do it regularly and have an entire video on it you can find if you search my name and it :) Alternatively you can go to my channel page and hit the search magnifying glass below my channel header and videos and search gua sha and it will come up. I love it :) I also talk about it in my alternatives to botox and filler video. Thank you!
Hi Stephanie! I have been using and loving Belif’s Problem Solution green bottle of natural moisturizer but it looks like they changed their formula and reviews for the new one seem mixed. Do you have a replacement you could recommend?
I think “drug store “ refers to price. Sephora carries some more affordable brands and the main drug store chain in Canada has a section they call “Beauty Boutique” that carries Dior, Chanel, Guerlain and other luxury brands.
In my mind “drugstore” refers to price and not an actual “drugstore”. Drugstore prices here in Canada can be ridiculous with foundations being close to $30. I can find better pricing at Amazon, Walmart and even Sephora and Ulta when I was in the US and that’s what I consider “drugstore”. Love love love your foundation and concealer reviews - they are the best! Happy Weekend 💕 Xo 🇨🇦
I don’t consider anything from Sephora “drugstore” regardless of price. Ulta is also a stretch but since they sell drugstore brands I get why they’d be included.
The Catrice Foundation is discontinued now that they updated their product line for fall here in Europe. The new one though is even better in my opinion (Invisible Cover)
What do you think of the Flower beauty foundation? I remember liking it when it first came out, but couldn't find a shade. They've extended their shade range now, so I'd like to try it again. Just don't want to waste my money. I have combination skin as well, and live in Arkansas.
Love it! I probably should have put it in here. I almost did. It’s really hard to narrow this list down. It will most likely end up in another category :)
NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop is what I wore to the Eras concert. Also, check out my primers video th-cam.com/video/jydd-g4NUvA/w-d-xo.html where I talk about Hourglass Veil being THE primer if you sweat because it repels water. It's great for humidity and sweat-prone faces like mine. I went to Eras again this weekend and put on Veil primer and mixed NYX with Estee Lauder Double Wear and applied a thin layer and my foundation didn't BUDGE all day or all night and my face sweated! I did spray it lightly with One Size setting spray for extra insurance. I don't use it often, but for special occasions, I break it out.
I do not understand the gripe with Ulta, they carry drugstore brands. I guess since Sephora doesn’t carry any of the brands considered to be drugstore, I can see their point there. Yet for me, no matter the brand, if it is drugstore price i don’t care where I buy it at, but that is me. I am not that finicky. You do a fabulous job!
I believe the price point is what is important regardless if it is drugstore or Ulta or Sephora. Maybe rename the video “affordable” so that viewers aren’t so critical. Appreciate your reviews and recommendations.
Normally you and I tend to agree on better products. But not this one! 😂 I love L'Oreal products - except foundation! I don't like most of them. The Infallible works okay for me though. Revlon Colorstay is highly underrated. Maybelline Skin Tint is outstanding. Milani's Conceal & Perfect is pretty good, though I couldn't find a shade match. The same with Catrice. The Tirtir counts as drugstore due to price, and I wore it all summer in my Houston-esque climate. I have very fair, very oily, sensitive, hyper reactive skin. It's also mature, so texture and uneven skin tone is a big deal to me. If we all had the same skin, we wouldn't need this variety. Heaven knows, the variety has changed since I was in HS in the early '80's! 😂
I typically think "drugstore" is price. However, some people may not have an Ulta or Sephora near them. I know we have an Ulta, and our Sephora is in a Khols and doesn't hold nearly as many products as a full Sephora. So sometimes I feel like it is price and what is easily accessible at the drugstore.
I think "drugstore " relates to price. People are being too nit picky! Love your videos! Especially the foundation ones!❤❤
For me it's the fact that the nearest Saphora is almost a three hour drive, and then its only in a Kohls... I like to see foundation products. I struggle with color matches. Not everyone has access to Sephora or Ulta. Drugstore is accessible to all.
@@carollang6090 That definitely makes sense, but don’t forget… there’s also online!❤️
@@carollang6090 well for some of us, Sephora and Ulta are more accessible when it comes to shade ranges. The drugstore can be extremely limited.
As far as I am concerned, drugstore refers to price. I don't usually buy my lower priced products at an actual drugstore. I usually get them at Target, Ulta, and Amazon.
Thank you Stephanie. Sometimes 'drugstore' like CVS, Walgreens etc can be more pricey than Amazon. So it pays to shop around for drugstore.
I think ulta/sephora/target/amazon etc are all fair game! Even harder-to-find retailers like yesstyle I’m down to hear about the product, giving us a heads up that it’s a little tougher to find is plenty 😊
Thanks for that feedback! :)
Agreed ❤
I’m a proud luxury makeup wearer! But I’m telling you that covergirl matte bb cream is INCREDIBLE!!!!!!🎉❤
Ooooh.... I love that Wet & Wild Tinted Hydrator! I'm full-on oily mature skin and that product is fantastic, but it only looks good for about five hours on me if I don't top it with a powder foundation. (Yes, I'm THAT oily.)

It’s outstanding.
Is that silicone or water based foundation?
@@leslieridenour2734 It's a silicone based foundation that also contains water. If you want to use a primer with it, I would suggest a silicone.
I agree with your thoughts, it’s the price that classifies drugstore items in my mind.

To me drugstore is something you can find at all drugstores or walmart. Not evrery town or person has availability to an Ulta or sephora. Thank you for this video, though it helps me find what I need at Walmart.😊
I agree that "drug store" is price point not retailers. I don't go to drug stores so I love that you include things from Ulta and Amazon ❤❤❤
I recently fell in love with the Wet N Wild Tinted Hydrator. The only thing that would make it better would be if it had SPF in it. Thank you for the recommendation...I love it!
I use four of the 10, and I love them all. Thanks for the video ❤ stay safe!
I agree with you about if the price is comparable to drug store prices then it doesn’t matter who the vendor is.
I agree with you, price makes something *drugstore* not retailer
Great job! 👏🏻
I don't care where the foundation can be purchased, as long as it's affordable! NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop has been my go-to for YEARS!
Because it’s not in HER top ten.
I love, love, love the NYX!! It works perfectly for me in the climate of Houston, TX.
My two currently used foundations are the LOreal True Match and LOreal Infallible. I'm interested in trying the newly packaged/ formulated Covergirl and the Maybelline Fit Me.
I loved this video! It was extremely helpful. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for watching! 😘
Oof, that's why it's a clear rec for normal to combo skin but I'm just not sure about fully dry skin. Love the feedback. Thank you!
Great video! I know of several I want to try. Thank you.
You have the prettiest eyes, even without makeup. 🙂
Thank you so much 🙂
Thank you for this review.
Thank you! 💗
@@StephanieMarie - thank you - will take a peek! I love trying new foundations so love all the videos you have done!
Drugstore is getting priced higher and higher. Because they know it’s still cheaper. But luxury is raising it even more !! I need to try the loreal and maybelline
@louisesharpy Loreal owns Lancome, so I figure it's similar.
The Loreal balm is too orange for my skin type. I am neutral/cool….most of their formulas tend tend to be too warm overall
If the price is in line with drugstore pricing I don’t mind where I need to get it!
Thank you!
Great and informative video! Thank you! and those that commented on the drugstore don't pay attention to the silly comments.
Hi Stephanie! I have been using and loving Belif’s Problem Solution green bottle of natural moisturizer but it looks like they changed their formula and reviews for the new one seem mixed. Do you have a replacement you could recommend?
I like loreal freshwear. Sadly we don't get nyx or cover girl in nz anymore.
Happy Weekend 💕

@@StephanieMarie awesome! Thank you ❤️❤️
I am a person that one of my medications make me sweat profusely in the summer months which foundation is best to wear in that situation
I love L'Oreal products - except foundation!
I would include drug store priced brands. Especially if they are available at Amazon.
What is the closest one to the estee lauder double wear foundation? 😊
