Don’t do this first! I read on a bunch of forums that it was likely the power lock actuators that were causing my power locks to not function. So I stripped my door panel off, removed all the harnesses, bolts, clips, rods and door handle to get this job done. Had a hell of a time to get it all back in properly with the new actuator. And......it wasn’t the problem.
You know what the problem was? The power door lock relay. An $8 part that is super easy to get to (under the steering column). So unless you’re a patron for punishment, try the relays first.

I was totally new to this Powerstroke stuff and it ended up fixing my issue! But this is a good idea!
Apparently another common reason for door locks not working, such as lock working but no unlock, is when you have an aftermarket alarm installed, sometimes they nick a wire and causes this issue for a lot of people.
Another edit on this: my year didn’t have a power door lock relay. Came a few years later. So idk what relay I replaced but there it is lol.
99% of the time, the actuator is the problem. If the relay goes out, you lose all of them at the same time. The OEM parts are junk. There are dozens of aftermarket ones available and once you've change them a couple of times, the swap is pretty straight forward. This video is pointless on process of replacing them but there are a bunch of good ones out there.
Don't be afraid. This is a 40 minute/3 beer newbie swap, 1 beer/15 minute after you've done a couple before.
@@IronSheik417 It's a weak actuator. Swap it out. Relays either work or they don't.

I own a 2001 e 250 van , all the locks work except the master switch on the driver's door, its supposed to lock all the doors , but it don't .I got a new switch, didn't work ,any ideas...

My truck locks when I push it down and all the power buttons will lock the drivers side and unlock but no power works to passenger side kinda weird but getting new doors on it soon when I restore it to be rust free again anyway hopefully it fixes it 😂
What was the issue?
Follow up on my power locks not unlocking but locking. Replaced actuator. No change. Checked wiring, ok. Just ended up replacing driver side door lock switch. Problem solved. Apparently the switches are known to go bad as well on these trucks.
I went OEM. $80. Not many sell these bc they changed them a bit in 2002 or somewhere around there. Called the Ford dealership to get the part number.
Driver side SW 7089 and passenger side SW 7096 for a 1999 F350. Driver side is the master switch, which is usually the culprit. That’s the $80 one. Passenger side is $40. Took 2-3 minutes to replace them both. Wish I wouldn’t have messed with the actuator lol. This is with a truck without a vsm.

@@PowerStoked Well some us appreciate you taking time to post helpful tips. I'm not sure what's the problem with my locks 3 of my cars have same problem. Passenger side locks but drivers side won't. Weird that all have same issue. lol!
Put a new actuator and that's not the problem all other doors work fine except real left driver side.
