Great video but the 2nd light housing isn't fog lights they are just running light and blinkers

Thanks so much for this video. My husband graduated to Heaven last year and the left headlamp on 02 F350 Superduty went away this week. I’m pretty sure I can do this after watching your video 👍

    • @edog1955
      @edog1955 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Sorry to hear about your husband. You've probably taken care of the issue, but for others: Note that this is a full headlight replacement! If a bulb burns out on a "non-sealed" headlight, you can just replace the bulb. See a video on that proceedure.
I got some Anzo headlights from AutoAnything. They do NOT come with bulbs, and instead of using the old Silverstars [they have reduced output over time] I got new Phillips "X-tremeVision" bulbs. They were recommended by many.

Just a tip. If you take a 14 mil socket and slide it into the 3rd anchor point it will push both tabs in and the light will slide right out. I am just replacing bulbs and was to lazy to try your method. Got lucky and the first socket I tried worked perfectly. Lol

Other side I was gonna struggle when I heard a voice slap my head and say, "hey dumb@ss, get a 14 mil socket. Took me ten times longer to write this note than it did to get that adjustment assembly out. Well played man.

Thanks for the info. Made my job alot easier. To refine it a bit more, I discovered that if push a 9/16" socket over top of the old pin that squeezes the ears in perfectly so it comes right out. Also my upper clips were really stubborn so I threaded a 3" wood screw a few threads into the clip and used a claw hammer to pull it out. I was barely able to salvage the clip but it was better than having to order new ones. Hope this helps.

Over 3 years after your video. Big help. I have the 7.3 so I had a battery behind the driver side. Reusing the original adjuster was key to saving time. Great job keeping it simple and not leaving out details. So many other videos on YT skip over the key points. I really struggled with the turn/side marker screws. Very small gap and only installed the outboard. I even had a harder time putting in the outboard clips than removing the originals. You video was spot on. Thank you!!

Big help on this. Backed adusting screws out as suggested really helped. Holding the retention tabs down on drivers side just wasn,t working. Even tried holding a 14mm socket over tabs (back of frame) to hold them in.
Finally got a drill bit and gutted the little sucker and it ell out...YAY.
Replacement buckets came with adjuster assemplies so sacrifice a no-brainer. I will do this again if EVER I have to change buckets.
One more thing. When starting the long aduster screw, note that the screw has two flat spots top & bottom. They have to be top and bottom to get the long screw to seat deeply enough to engage.

Great tips on comments. I would only add that you should tighten the two screws FIRST to that lower turn signal assembly BEFORE installing the headlamp assembly because you might need some play to get to those screws depending upon how high/tight the top of the bumper is. Otherwise, you'll have to lower the bumper or remove the headlight assembly if the space is too tight. Each truck is different

I followed your instructions on how to remove the headlights which went smoothly. l had a hard time going back in getting the threads to start, so I decided remove the adjuster. I found that a thread adapter for 1/2” copper pipe (1/2” MIP threads x 1/2” Cu Pipe slip) will just fit over the inside end of the light adjuster which can then be pulled out.

The long-ass screw assembly (that you left attached to the vehicle) is in fact an adjuster. anyway keep it up i find videography incredibly tedious so i'm glad there's smart people out there who go through the ordeal of making them 👍👍

I could not do what you did with the vertical adjuster. They are the reason I am replacing the headlight, because the vertical adjusters were non functional. 20 mins into removing the old adjusters and I agree, they are a PITA. Going to take a chisel to the clips and break them off.

Add some LED headlights to that and you will improve your visibility tremendously, buy the kind with the built-in fans just behind the headlight and they're easy to go in. We just added a LED light bar to our push bar and that really improved visibility I can see my truck coming from a half a mile away. Remember that you also need to have yellow turn signal bulbs if you add the clear lenses

Hi Jason. The headlight assemblies you have in your link and the ones you installed don't fit my 2000 Ford F250 super duty when I click on the link.

Did the brightness actually improve by going to clear lens headlamps?

Did you have to swap the light angle adjusters from the old light to the new one if you can remember?
