People don't realize just how impressive this model is.
I traded my Tesla Model Y for the Blazer EV RS AWD because it doesn't have a glass sunroof. I think they allow the vehicle to get too hot in the summer, and they are pretty expensive to replace. Since I never use a sunroof, I found no use for the panoramic roof either. Also, I think the Chevy feels more planted when driving at speed. My Tesla felt rather squirrelish at faster speeds.

I was bummed not to have the Pano Roof in this car! But that makes me feel slightly better!
I LOVE panoramic sunroofs. They make the interior feel more spacious and on nice days it is great to pop them open. I wouldn't buy a car without at least a sunroof, shame they don't make convertibles anymore.

Finally a Blazer RS EV, A EV SUV I can afford.
One of the big problems of not having Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is that despite how much time you may spend in your car, your phone is with you 24/7. So for mapping, I usually begin at my desk before I leave, then CarPlay is with me in the vehicle and if I have to do any walking to a destination after, I’m still with my phone. There are other reasons but until GM makes a phone, I can’t see buying one and I’ve been a loyal GM owner since the 80s.
Does it log you into the same Google account that you use on your phone? I frequently save locations on my computer and then start navigating for my phone when I get in the car so I don't see it as being any different.
I don't use Apple products and rarely use AA anyway because I work at home and drive a 12-year-old car anyhow. 😂😂
I do enjoy Android Auto when I'm running cars while traveling but it's never been a deal breaker for me.
I agree. It’s like having an iPhone and a galaxy phone. Why would anyone want to do that? Very odd.
They want to control the driving information in order to be able to sell it later on. If they open up to Android Auto / Car Play it isn't worth anything because other companies will already have it. Data is the name of the game, and who controls what you do with your car, where you go, how fast your going, all this is gold to insurance companies who want to use it to set your rates, and are willing to pay companies for your driving habit info.
No AA or ACP is really a non issue for most folks. I'm not going to NOT buy a car because of that, nor would I buy a car because of that.

I'm a salesman for Chevy. I really appreciate the video. Watch a lot of your vids, this one was really helpful. So many of the features on EVs are not well known.
A few things. I won't buy an EV, because I live in an apartment without any means of charging one. And I don't want to spend ~30 minutes sitting in a charging station while it charges. Also, I am not willing to spend ~$55K for a vehicle [too much money for me].
Now, having said that, if they had a Hybrid version, that may be a bit different. I suspect the hybrid would be less expensive.
Now, the MAIN reason for my post is this. With all the new cars with the screens everywhere, so many seem extremely boring in design. And most of them look alike. However, this interior, IMO, is VERY nice and a change from what I've seen on so many. The way the dash screen and infotainment screen looks is excellent. But something like how the air vents look does A LOT for an interior design. And the vents in this car are excellently done!!
Sweetheart the hybrid version would be marked up and even more expensive just like the rest of the desirable hybrids/gasoline vehicles. Highly desirable EVs are offering $7,500 off of their MSRP and you save thousands by the second year of ownership just from opting out of needing gas.

@@G-Rated My wife recently bought a Tesla model Y (Long range RWD) after being deeply disappointed that her dream car, the Toyota Rav4 Prime cost about the same as the Model Y, and cost more if you get the higher trim level it cost MORE than the Model Y... And it didn't have some of the high tech features that the Model Y has like 360 degree camera view, being able to heat/cool the suv before getting in it and the base Rav4 (which cost about the same as the Model Y) didn't have those things along with wireless phone chargers, leather heated seats front and back, or panoramic glass roof.

Do a comparison of the Prologue, Equinox and Blazer.
Only comparison he'd have to go over is the smaller screens and gauge cluster than the blazer and the equinox. The prologue is on the same ultium platform and has the same battery size as all 3. Side by side they have minimal differences if you are showing the blazer next to the Prologue. The drive is identical just feels cheaper than the Blazer and the Equinox. Only benefit of the prologue is carplay. Honda is offering incentives for charging station installation and charge credits. fun fact by the way, the prologue actually has less cargo space than the blazer ev. Blazer EV has 25.5 ft³ seat area up, 59.1 ft³ with seat area down. The Prologue has 23.7 to 25.2 ft³ seat area up, 54.5 to 57.7 ft³ with seat area down.
But… but no one seems to complain about lack of carplay and android auto in tesla & rivian… While they initially offered a huge improvement, phone projection limits what OEMs can offer in terms of user experience
The massive rebate is on older RS models with different battery sourcing that don’t qualify for the $7500 federal tax credit. Chevy is offering a $7500 rebate on those, plus they have other rebates you can stack on top of that. I just got quoted over $16,000 off on a 2024 RS between discount and rebates.
FYI, u can get EV6/Ioniq5/6 for a bit less 45-48k with all the discounts or even used low mileage for about less 30K.. at one of the fast EV charging and better performance and features than this... just letting you know.
That’s cool but the Blazer looks 1000X better interior and exterior wise.

This was the 2nd EV I had a deposit on and then wisely cancelled when its flaws were widely revealed.
Absolutely stupid. What flaws does the Blazer EV have? Can you name any of them? Soyfan couldn’t even name the many issues he claims this vehicle had rolling out. There was a single “stop sale” until software glitches were addressed and since sales have resumed there has been zero issues. Meanwhile Lexus is recalling and issuing “stop sales” and there isn’t a peep about it.
Y’all sure do a great job of allowing reviewers to paint pictures of manufacturers for you instead of doing your own research and being a critical thinker for yourself. People like Soyfan will always rag on the *gm* product regardless of its superiority over the Tesla Model Y.

I think the Blazer EV looks better than the Equinox EV. That said, when Cadillac brings out the Optiq, on the same platform as the Equinox, that'll be a better looking EV than the Equinox, and it will only come in AWD and be around $50K. It will be a great buy.
The rear end styling is very good, interesting and helps it stand out. Risky but not a show stopper.
Can’t you just Bluetooth music from your phone? I can deal with google maps.
Update. I got this car and no Apple car play hasn’t really been an issue. We use the Waze app in the car for gps (better than google maps) and Bluetooth the music.
Been looking into GM's offerings in the EV market. The Equinox checks all the boxes for my family. As for the frunk that so many reviewers whine about, it's a non issue. I don't understand why every professional reviewer whines about it. Personally, could care less about CarPlay and Android Auto. The native system in GM seems fantastic.
It's true they make a big deal about stupid things. We have one of these and love it.

Is the digital rear view mirror accurate for distance in the view? A Japanese car maker has these and they are like the right side view mirror where objects in mirror are closer than they appear.

I am disappointed, I thought these would be nicer. I was at least looking for flush door handles, super cruise on all models, sunroofs, Android Auto, and definitely a faster charging speed, other then average

@@JWLboston Yes, I drove one several times and considered buying one, but all the software glitches people who own these are actually having scare me right now so decided to hold off on my impulse purchase. I REALLY like the Blazer, it feels like a regular car, but No AA is a big deal for me, and if I was to buy an all-electric I would definitely go with a Kia over the charging speeds. I really think they dropped the ball on the charging speeds, no one can even argue that it could be faster. Also, I think they could have given it a little more punch to it and make it faster. Yes I know the SS is coming out, regardless, they still should have given the bottom trims a little more humph. I also think all the Blazers should come with a hitch since it is a truck/suv. I love the whole package, just not fond of the slow charging. I also think the charging door should be like on the Equinox instead of powered. Not here to change your mind, just my 2 cents.

I’m not even in the markets for this but other than Tesla, any car that chooses to remove CarPlay & Android Auto is not it. Tesla can make it work because they’re first a technology company then a car manufacturer. I personally retrofitted CarPlay on a 2017 C43.
You sound dumb. Tesla’s system doesn’t work any better than this system in the Blazer EV. In fact, the Chevrolet EV interiors are much more intuitive and less of a learning curve to familiarize yourself with. *gm* has already surpassed Tesla in that regard. Y’all are just working OT to diminish how well this vehicle has been executed.

Even though looks are subjective the Equinox EV does not look better than the Blazer EV it just does not.The Blazer EV has a daring and sporty presence that overwhelms the more mainstream looking Equinox EV in terms of exterior design. However I agree with Sofyan about how both vehicles are so close dimension wise, and the Blazer EV's seats are one of its weak points, it definitely needs better seats. Now to my issue with the Blazer EV RS, 0-60 in 5.9 seconds for a EV at this price point? GM surely do better with a sub 5 second performance variant. Still I consider the Blazer EV a solid crossover, the lack of AA and Apple Carplay are annoying but not a big deal for me at least. People who have this vehicle rave about it and enjoy driving it. Room for improvements here yes, but a good electric vehicle nonetheless.

Thanks for the review. I have a Volvo XC40 Recharge which is quite a bit quicker than this, but I do like how it looks.
It's really impressive what GM has done-I was a doubter like many but you don't get it until you actually sit and drive one of these.
GM was planning to sell 1 million EVs by the end of 2025.. they are on track to sell 72k this year with the $7500 incentive

Yall too quickly forget what *gm* has had to combat during their rollout for _Ultium._ They actually don’t get anywhere near as much credit as they should. *gm* has introduced 10 fully electric models in a matter of 4 years, not including the EVs they’ll build for Honda. *gm’s* EV portfolio is now larger than Tesla’s, meanwhile Ford only has the Mach-E and Ford Lightning pickup. Stellantis has *zero* EVs on roads today.
*gm* has done all of that while simultaneously updating their ICE portfolio, and their ICE and EV nameplates share nothing but their names as their EVs are on bespoke platforms completely unrelated to their gasoline counterparts. The worst ppl can come up with about them is they had a stop sale to address software bugs and they don’t offer Apple’s CarPlay? I think that’s a nitpick by definition.
They should have added in Android Auto, flush door mounts, super cruise, and alot faster charging. All these people that bought this thing aren't going to be happy if they keep it longer then the 8 years and all the software starts to expire.

Blazer ev will get super cruise for the 25 model year, as well as the pano roof. Less options/configurations allows GM to roll out more Blazers quickly.

I test drove 7 competitive EVs and the Blazer RS was the best of the class for me. It’s techy without being weird. Second place was the Mach E premium. I didn’t care for the way the screen sat on the dash like a tablet and it has a cars ground clearance. Otherwise very nice. Third was the EV6. Lots of features but felt slow compared to the others. I disagree with this video on the Equinox. A step down in both looks and performance to the blazer. Particularly in the RS trim. Fifth was the Model Y. Great acceleration on the model Y. I hated everything else about it but I got why others like it if that makes sense. The drive cluster on the infotainment screen was a big no. Hate the panoramic sunroof. I need buttons and the handling was squishy. The Honda Prologue was ok. Just like every other Honda. The Ionic was nice but severely overpriced.
We really wanted to like this vehicle but the amount of easy to reach hard plastics was ridiculous with the back doors were pure rental quality. Sadly our experience with the Lyriq was not that much better.

Im not an EV guy, not even a litte. I prefer hybrids or straight up ICE cars but if i was forced to drive one, I like GMs implementation the most, say the absence of Android Auto.
I second your opinion on design: GM in modern Chevrolet has flavor and uniqueness. Most other EV SUV either tend to go to generic SUV like VW ID4 or try to mimic the eggshaped Tesla like Ford Mustang Mach E. The exception is squareness of Hyundai Ioniq 5 inspired from 1980ties design.
I'm not an EV fanboy but I do have some interest. Definitely not ideal for long road trips of course. I work from home so I put very few miles on my vehicle. I'm currently driving a 2012 Chevy Impala that I took over from my wife. Since it became my vehicle, it gets about a thousand miles a year. That makes it hard for me to justify any new vehicle.
However, I'm planning a pretty huge solar installation and I do like the idea of being the supplier of my own fuel. If you take care of your batteries by not discharging them below 20% and not charging them much past 80%, the battery is barely degraded at all over time. Aside from tires, maintenance is practically zero.
I'd love to see someone offer better battery chemistry like lithium iron phosphate.
Anyway, I'm going to stay informed and eventually I anticipate moving my wife to an EV and I'll have the backup ICE vehicle

I wouldn’t say people don’t care but usage data shows they aren’t widely used. I used my Model 3 one once when I had wet clothes I didn’t want with other stuff.
If it was a front trunk like in the Lightning that is huge with power outlets, I definitely care about it. In other vehicles, it would definitely be nice to have a place to put your emergency kit / first aid kit/maintenance type stuff so that it's not bouncing around in the rest of the car interfering with cargo and passengers.

If you offer both then you have to figure out how to block or redirect maps in both android auto or carplay or you will have 1000's of users complaining that your can't find chargers and know what the battery level is.

Just depends on your daily life. I live in Iowa and travel a minimum of 25 miles a day. I drive a 2018 Chevy Volt and only use the EV mode. I plug in my garage that I rent with my apartment. Its good enough for charging since it typically sits in a garage for 10 hours. Maybe once a month I have to get gas for longer out of town trips which I don't even fill up. I usually put 10$ in and can do the round trip! Maybe every two months I need to fill up for a trip to my parents which is about 160 mile round trip. I can plug in on the farm/house. When filling up fully, it gives me about 280 miles but I never have to us it all. Ever since I've driven this car, it's convinced me that my next upgrade will be an EV. I suggest trying out by leasing or owning a plug-in hybrid which you can see how much you would need to rely on 300 miles.
Why make gas cars with less than 200 hp?
GM doesn't have one touch Auto up for the three passenger windows because these are family vehicles they don't want kids getting their hands or heads caught in those windows even though the windows will stop and reverse

I love that they ditched Apple CarPlay. It doesn’t work well consistently in my ‘22 Mercedes E450.

That doesn't mean anything without knowing how big your gas tank is. I can fill the bed of my truck with gas and drive from Coast to Coast.
No apple CarPlay is indeed a dealbreaker for me. I don’t have any desire to learn and maintain an new ecosystem. Also, no Bose or sunroof in the AWD RS? If Chevy is “all in” on EV this is a pretty lame way to do it. All that tech and a crappy sound system.

@@JWLboston What's the quality of the infotainment center and FM radio sound? I've watched numerous reviews and not one of them has played the radio, a usb drive or commented on the quality of sound in this vehicle.

The 2025 Blazer EV and Equinox EV have more power and torque.
Disappointed in these new Chevy EVs I waited for. Disappointed in so much where to start. 150 charging? Not fast enough for a ground breaking EV. Why not 233Kw like Kia's EVs or more for charging fast especially since supposedly they are switching to Telsa chargers soon? No Car Play / Android Auto? No flush door handles? Can't shut off the noise in interior? Sunroof only available on LTs. Slow, people expect EVs to have some torgue. This really only tows about 1500 Lbs. Also, I don't know why people keep saying Equinox is cheaper, it isn't if you start adding options. If you fully option out both models the smaller Equinox is more money despite being smaller. I was disappointed in these, they are average EVs but I think they could have stepped up their game with these since everyone been waiting so long for these to come out and they are just Meh

Soyfan, if Apple is paying you it’s ok to tell us. I don’t understand the logic behind the idea the system is great on its own but needs Apple CarPlay in order to be a perfect functioning system. We’re gonna have to revisit that one day after some of you have realized you don’t need Apple’s software in order to buy a car and effortlessly interact.
