You have to get a 2LT to get 190kW DCFC. Tesla cost less, more efficient, better sound system, faster, 250kW DCFC , autopilot is standard, FSD is much better than supercruise , the huge front on the Chevy has no storage, not impressive

I just got my Blazer EV 2LT and am very impressed with the range for such a heavy vehicle at 5300 lbs. The 279 miles quoted is understated compared to the overrated Tesla Model Y. My only niggle with this EV is the suspension is a bit too firm although it has nice damping and control. I wish they had an adjustment feature for the suspension like they do for the steering and brakes. Otherwise, I'm ecstatic that I was able to get one at a killer lease deal. IMO, it's the best-looking of the comparable models you mention.

Got a really good deal on an RS RWD drive. Car truly feels great - solid build with plenty power, good range (324 miles at 100%). Don’t quite understand the uproar about Carplay, I prefer Waze to google maps so I just downloaded it to the car, directions show in heads up display. Also downloaded Spotify or can Bluetooth from phone. Show texts and it would probably read them if I allowed it. Don’t let CarPlay be a deal breaker. I miss front parking sensors but use the front camera or kick it old school. Drove a model Y for a few weeks and I’m happy I chose the Blazer instead for my first EV.

You missed one of the best features!!!…the rear view mirror camera. It makes that tiny regular mirror obsolete. The view at night is incredible (at least it is in my Bolt EV-I expect the same in the Blazer EV)
You can have the view blocked by people in the back or boxes, and it won’t make a difference, because your view starts from the camera out back. That being said, we tint our windows very dark here in Phoenix Arizona, and using the regular mirror at night is almost useless, but with the digital camera rear view mirror, you see perfectly, because you aren’t looking “through” the dark window tint. Not to mention you can see almost 180 degrees, so the improved safety is irreplaceable.

My Blazer accelerates on the rare occasions when I need it to do so. Rare, because there's so much traffic, any more horsepower would go to waste. If I did live in the wide open spaces, I would purchase a smaller EV if speed and nimbleness were relevant. For weighing nearly 6000 pounds, the Blazer is quite responsive.

  • @Yawdiegurl

I was a little sad that it didn’t have apple carplay but it’s really just the mirroring ability to instantly search on your phone and have it on the screen that you don’t have but I don’t really use my phone like that anyway so I’m good since I normally speak to my car for everything. Coming from the having Volkswagen Tiguan that had sensors all over, I was quite surprised that this car doesn’t have any sensors in the front.

I loved how the Blazer EVRSAWD rode but it's really slow for an EV and I'm not sure the Y is the answer. Everything I like about the Y is opposite of why I like the Blazer EV. Remember the Tesla is also much more efficient 84kw battery vs the rwd 102kwh(rwd) to get similar range. I have a drive that I do 1 time a month that's 5 hours in an ice but closer to 7 in the Y due to speed/range.
Blazer is nicer vehicle but Tesla tech is better. What's longest the Blazer can go on full charge at 75-80mph? If it's 250 miles and charge in 15 than great but most likely not. EV's are not highway cars yet.....I'm waiting for a highway test in winter on the f150 Lightning flash with heat pump if over 250 that's an option but dcfc stinks.....need a few more years before things flip.
Problem with Blazer EV is still dcfc charging which handcuffs it as your nice main vehicle but it has the higher " primary vehicle price.
It's like a math equation that can't be solved quite yet.
EV' are best as round trip back to home vehicles only in my eyes, even Tesla
The range vs charging speed ÷ price still off the mark for most of us
Government needs to get out of the way of the market also as we fight the mfg's to see whom is going to get the tax rebate if you qualify
I still say blend gm/ford with Tesla for best vehicle
    7:50
If Blazer had cybertruck tech/drive train it would be #1 selling vehicle guaranteed!!!!!
    Lighter by 800 lbs
    Faster est 3.5 0-60
    Farther range. Est 375
    Faster charging 350kwh

Why doesn't chevy just let Tesla take care of the Tech/Drive line stuff and them make the rest.

    • @gregkramer5588
      @gregkramer5588 ปีที่แล้ว +1

This is a very good platform already why would the partner with Tesla? Tesla battery tech is not significantly better and the Y in this class is only competitive because of the people that need the supercharger network and on price. The Y is not a great vehicle, the CT is not a competitor and pretty much only has appeal the the "look at me" crowd.

Please list how many EV's/hybrids you own orhave owned so I understand your base of knowledge.
Me: Kia Niro hybrid, MMEGT, Maverick Hybrid, Bolt EUV, Tesla MYLR.
DCFC CHARGING: EA, EVGO, CHARGEPOINT TESLA SUPERCHARGER
      Home charging: chargepoint 11.5kwh
      Tesla gen 2 19.2kwh
Test driven almost purchased: Lucid, Ariya, Polestar, F150 lightning, M3LR and 2024 Blazer EV 2RS Awd(looks and drives great but slow charging, short range and slow as molasses acceleration.) I would buy SS possibly but need a winter range test at 75mph first
Pricing on Blazer EV: about 5k too high on RS AWD and that's with my $2250 GM family discount on top of $7500 tax incentive. BTW you can't use GM card $ on these and I have about $3500 available which means I could get $13250 off MSRP with all discounts
Hopefully the SS and RWD are more battery tech competitive.

    • @gregkramer5588

So you have a Y, what do you think of it. Two of my friends do/did also. The one is on the fence about it the other sold his and got an S60 recharge. The pricing is a bit high on the Blazer but the Ioniq 5 limited and EV6 are not far off and the Blazer is quite completive. IMO the Y is a step down from any of these three. I will be driving the Blazer quite a bit this week. My dad has the AWD RS. I have driven multiple EVs and hybrids and have owned a hybrid. That said it means very little in regards to a persons knowledge. The Y is above the ID.4 IMO. The Blazer is bigger than the others mentioned and looks as good if not better than the Ioniq and EV6. I think the ride and quietness are right there with the leaders and well ahead of the Tesla. I guess you think 5% more range and faster charging and quicker are super important. They may be to some but not to many. @@ATE2AQTR

Sorry, but the Blazer EV DOES NOT have Apple Car Play or Android Auto. It has a Wi-Fi Hot spot so you can mate your iPhone or Android but it's a couple of extra steps. GM decided to go the Goggle route exclusively to nip software bugs in the butt. They feared too many beta problems with both systems. That's the biggest reason for the delay in moving forward with the all-out introduction of the Blazer EV.

  • @Molishious
    @Molishious 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

I’m surprised he hasn’t gone back and at least added some kind of disclaimer noting that this does not have CarPlay. It’s a bad look that he didn’t know about one of the most controversial aspects of this car which is that GM decided to not have CarPlay on it’s new EVs, although they have it on the Lyriq. The horsepower seems like a flaw as this is larger than most of the cars he mentioned as competition and therefore heavier. My guess is that it’s the compromise they made for range. I lost interest in Chevy’s EVs after the terrible launch of this car, but I’m back considering them as Chevy did the right thing with the stop sale. That charge port is a bit perplexing. The Audi Etron has a similar one that works just fine. Seems odd that they couldn’t figure out how to make it run a bit faster. I like the simple flap that the I5 and the Y have. Still electric, so cool, but opens quickly. Finally, it was a good review, ruined by getting basic facts wrong.

Have owned 3 hybrids and 3 Ev's (current Maverick and MYLR) 40 plus others previous. Blazer EV looks good and drives good, however very slow acceleration, very slow charging and short range will crush sales especially priced as if it had leading tech. Chevy will need to discount about 10k with the $7500 tax credit to get prices to around low 40's for these to move. If you but one now you will see a 50% depreciation in 2 years. Buyer beware, GM is not technologically there yet. These will sell between 30k-35k used in 24 months and under 25k in 4 years. It's a great car, seats comfy, drives nice, decent room and stylish but technology is years behind. Wanted to buy one but absolutely no way I could justify. The RWD with larger battery and faster charging as does the SS both 190k and ranges of 320/290 look slightly better but only for diehard chevy fans whom are forward thinking intelligent and technology savvy.(not many exist) Why is chevy not utilizing hybrids and EV's with Range extenders????? Chevy needs to lead and not follow!!!! EV technology even Tesla is not "there" yet as road trips still suck in MYLR....hate the 20+/- minute stops and extreme electrical consumption over 70mph. Wanna drive 300+ miles at 80-85mph don't buy an EV yet, Tesla's suck and anything else you will cause brain melt.
