I'm sad that Mark once said he never looks at TH-cam comments, because I want to tell him how grateful I am that he brought CGR back.
@@dytallixx1268 My guess is he might read comments from time to time but probably not often. I think he's taken the "don't care as much" approach to what people are saying as he's gotten troll comments before. Not worth the energy to read that nonsense.
I receive his email newsletters and he's noted how happy he is that the reception to his return has been really positive. So it seems like he's seen at least some of the comments.

Real talk, THIS is the show that made me who I am. All my aesthetic sensibilities come from hours and hours of guzzling CGR as a kid. Taking in Mark's sunny personality, dry humor, and penchant for atmosphere. You have no idea what it means to me to have this show back.
Although I'll be missing the old intro tunes...

😂 I'm never gonna play this game but this is my favorite review so far since you've returned. It's so YOU. Hilarious commentary from beginning to end about how to run a city into the ground.
You're missing out, it's an awesome game. 8 years on and I keep coming back to it.
I'd say wait for C:S 2 this fall though.
One of my favorite tricks to do in this game is you build footpaths where you can because sims will take public transit/walk if they can which helps traffic. To really, REALLY maximize this- make footpaths that go underground to different areas. People will walk, everywhere they can.
It's not going to save bad zoning and street layouts but if you check how many people use them it's very, very surprising.
My friend was making fun of me for making a city for mole people.

Only problem I see with Skylines is that it's one of those games that has endless DLC. If you actually buy everything, it'll cost you more than a decent computer needed to run it.
I've been playing for years and never bought any DLC. The free workshop stuff gives me all I need.
That's the Paradox Games business model for you!
The DLC is mainly complex micromanagement, and every time a new one came out, it would break a bunch of the Steam Workshop user creations.
What I liked about the SimCity series is that you felt like you were the mayor. You'd lay down the basic infrastructure and zones, and the city would develop.
But with C:S, why do I have the task of placing individual greenhouses? Why am I placing crematoriums?
there are so many mods you can easily lose track and completely overload the game 😅 it has a very dedicated fanbase that's for sure

Cities Skylines is absolutely amazing. They took over where EA flubbed it up massively from the 2013 Simcity. Skylines 2 comes out soon, can’t wait!
this game is way better than simcity. the hardest part of the game is managing the traffic
I agree. Roundabouts are an amazing tool to stop a lot of congestion.
And spending the extra cash on 4 lane major highways (which adds up).
