    Cleaning the deck is essential, as you stated. My wife took over mowing so she could get some exercise. She never cleaned it,and it rotted through in two years. 🙄
    Still runs great 👍🏻. 😅

    I’m 84 and have no problem whatsoever with my new Max. I avoid the problems you describe by mowing only when dry and keeping up with the spring growth. This baby runs strong and should satisfy most homeowners.

      I'm a happy owner, I think the Toro Max Recycler runs very good. My little demo had near flawless results. Wet/damp grass will bog typically all push mowers down as I point out in the video.

    At 3:10 you can see that the bottom of the mover is not parallel with the grass. Your front wheels are set much higher than your rear wheels. To understand the correct setting between the front and back wheels, place your mower on a flat area of your driveway or sidewalk and stand back 10 ft or so to the side of your mower. In the kneeling position you can clearly see the height difference from the bottom of the deck to the concrete just behind the front wheel and just in front of the rear wheel. You’ll see that your front wheels are adjusted much higher than the rear wheels. To correct this and understand how the front adjustment is in relation to the rear adjustment, stand to the side of the mower and count the tabs on your front adjustment bracket and start from the opposite side of the adjustment bracket on the rear. Stand back and look at the deck to make sure it’s parallel or measure it. Once you’ve done it once, you’ll realize it’s easy to see if your deck is level just by looking at it. Oh, and if you hand tighten the knobs on the handle bar tightly, that slop you’re experiencing will go away. Don’t worry, you can tighten them by hand very tight as there is a metal insert inside the plastic knob. I have the same mower, best mower available at that price range. I’ve been a proud Toro owner for over 50 years!

      Thanks for the insight on setting mower height! Next video I talk about people who mentioned the unlevel deck height @ 7:23: th-cam.com/video/K7x95MX5z3M/w-d-xo.html
      It's close to level as I haven't changed the settings. I have random holes and divots )2" to 3") all over in my yard front, side and back. Even have spots deeper than that. I'm just taking care of this house and keeping the yard and trees managed. I typically never run my mower perfectly level because its really not that important to me for this yard. I I have spots/transitions where the rear part of mower can drag. My weed 'lawn' doesn't show any difference if the deck is slight elevated/slightly lower front or back. For someone else with a pretty, landscaped and money invested in their grass then more precision applied to cutting procedure could add up.

    Thanks for your videos. I’m not much of a hands on/mechanic and my used/previously owned Lawnboy is breaking down on me.
    I’m interested in maybe getting this mower and your videos have helped.
    Sorry for all of the negative feedback, but thank you for continuing to post because you’re helping others that need it.
    Can you maybe do a video where you show how to maintenance the other portions of the mower? Change spark plug, etc?

      I like it and recommend it from my use so far. I have not owned or experienced the $550 Honda side by side first hand but I felt better going with Toro for the future investment. 22inch cut, 5 yr warranty, ball bearing rolling, better wheels rubber, more under protection for rwd belt. And I do like the Personal pace minus the bulky handle design.

    This video was really helpful! I’ve mowed a lawn 3x in my 35 years 😂 but my dad bought me a riding Deere and a toro super max mulcher etc etc lol and mine kept bogging down today, left clumps, lines not clean. Now I know it was too damp! Next time I’ll get the Deere out!

    • @GettingthruLife
      @GettingthruLife  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can also raise the deck up 2 more inches and that would help. Pretty much anything with a deck and a blade spinning underneath or blades is going to bog down/slow down when you start getting into specific tougher mowing conditions. A 10 hp engine on a small push mower could help power through some bogging/slowing down but then it's heavier to push around and its still going to leave negative results behind because wet/damp things stick together. On a push mower, much easier to turn on its side and reach down and clear out. With a dirty underneath side, additional grass is much more likely and quickly to build back up then starting out with a clean underside.
      Bagging most the time is better than so-called this mulching movement. Mulching is always better for maintaining a lawn with regular routine cutting. Bagger is great and best results but then you got to stop and bag every 4-5 min. Rear chute dispense the quickest and easiest but not as a clean and finished result.

    Mulching sucks when wet.. I always wait when grass is completely dry

    • @GettingthruLife
      @GettingthruLife  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am not pro mulching but the mower industry has forced it on people. I'm not necessarily a bag mower either but if I had a super nice lawn I'd always bag. For me and my sh_t yard, I'm just a spray it and walk on it and carry on with life. I do like clear sidewalks so that's why I have a blower.

      @leonardomigot4040 my 13 year old Lawnboy has the plastic carb Briggs Stratton and it's fine. The plastic carbs work as hood as old but can clog easier. As long as don't leave old gas sitting and keep fuel filtered from garbage, platic cheaper made carbs are fine.

    I believe you tip the mower on the other side, carb high side.

    • @GettingthruLife
      @GettingthruLife  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      When you tip this mower onto its side and my other mower, it should be done so the airfilter side is up/oil fill side going towards the ground.
      -Doing the tipping process for a short amount of time this way will do nothing negative. Every time I tipped my mover in this video, it was to the right side/oil fill side.
      Toro also has some cool feature built/designed into Smartstow movers that tipping it back 90 degrees with a full tank doesn't flood it.
      Also note when tipping an older mower, likely a good idea to pull on the pull start cord until the piston reaches near top dead center. This way the valves are closed. Over an extended amount of time, and I mean a week on its side, small amount of oil could slip past rings and send oil into the exhaust otherwise. Would take a long time but per-say could happen.

      No, this kind oil should be down toward the ground. He did right. Or it could be folded in the storage mode and inspected as well

    I've had the same lawnmower for almost 15 years. It's in it's last leg now, I don't even know what to look for, all the ones I've looked at people commission they don't last more than 3 years

    • @GettingthruLife
      @GettingthruLife  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yea, it's a rough scene now. Stuff not built to last but push to replace more often. I haven't had my Max recycler long term so I can't stand behind it as far as longevity but I am anticipating it lasting 12-15 years. My old Lawnboy was a cheap mower under $300 2012, plastic carb Briggs Stratton engine, and I've made it last with not a lot of effort. Still 13 years later it can start on 1st pull. Just run good gas, don't let gas become stale in the mower and provide fuel without small particles in the fuel which get into the fuel at the gas station or by us the end user. Why I put on a secondary 75 micron fuel filter. Just means less likely to have to remove carb and clean out.
      Only thing keep eye on when gets dirty and wear out: plug, airfiter, and 7-10yr rwd belt and sharpen bad/ renew edge.

    Hey, that yard looks just like mine. What the heck it’s green isn’t it, lol. some of the reviews that I read on this machine complain about the handle flexing too much. What do you think?

    • @GettingthruLife
      @GettingthruLife  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, freshly mowed it looks good. Downside of a weed lawn is it transforms fast to over-grown. That saying "grows like a weed" is real. With a bunch of rain, I have to mow about every 4-5 days. It will get out of hand fast.

      Kinda-sort-of, not when it hot and it's starting to get warm and will become unbearable July and Aug and even into sept. Lawn starts to dry out so a trade off. Texas is always nutty humid as well. I want to move away from Texas.

    I looked at the Toro super recycler mowers, they were nice but after looking at the Honda models, went with the Honda HRX217 mower instead. Just so much more quality. Sorry Toro but couldn't pass up on the Honda.

      Thanks for sharing. Hope you made sure the box had the red sticker on it or your motor serial number has the metal stamp mark signifying it had the cam shaft fix done. Seems like all the movers out there to be sold should have had the recall repair done but sounds like there are plenty forsale without the recall done. I recently watch a video on this subject.
