Great Review! Also reassured I made the right purchase of this kit earlier along with the remote keypad. I wasn't sure if it had the lock/unlock via smartphone app. But glad I have it now for the panic setting alone. Many Thanks!
Many thanks for your comment :) I'm really glad you're happy with yours. I'm sure you appreciate how reassuring it is to have an efficient Alarm System fitted!
Great review, thanks very much. Can you make a short video about the fitting of the external bell box, external siren and strobe demo? Does the strobe continue to flash once the external alarm has timed out? My old alarm would sound for 10 minutes and then stop - the strobe would then continue flashing until the system was reset. Any corresponding information about this would be great - cheers.
Thanks for yiur positive feedback. I no longer have this system so couldn't make any further videos, but I can confirm the bellbox continues to strobe until the system is reset.
Hi there, thanks for the review very informative! I have the system just been delivered but have a couple of points to ask if I may?... With the control panel: would it be advisable to hide it in a cupboard somewhere if set on entry/exit mode as the burglar could disconnect the phone line within the countdown time and if I'm away from the property i will never know the alarm has been triggered? also do you think it being in a cupboard would affect the signal strength? I'm in a similar size property to the one in your video (I think)? Many thanks and good work again!
Hi Dom, thank you for your comment and the kind words! I would certainly advise taking steps to conceal the main control panel as best as possible, mainly for the reason you mentioned. And to stop any other unauthorised interference with the panel in a worst case scenario. In my experience, there is the chance this could reduce signal strength, but it hasn't been too serious for me. Just reduced by 1 point for an upstairs sensor, which isn't bad at all! But I would double check this at your end when you got your system, just to be safe! If you have any other questions, please ask an I'll do my best to help :) Thanks again for your comment!
Just installed this system at the weekend. Wondered if you had any ideas...when I arm the alarm, it's giving a fault that the doors are open but they're not. Also, the magnets are nice and close together as recommended. I can still force the alarm to arm. Secondly, when I enter programme mode to clear the fault, there is no 'fault log' on the screen like yours, simply 'log' of events. I.e. Alarm armed/disarmed etc. Many thanks.
Hi Baz, thanks for your comment. It sounds like one of your sensors is faulty. I'm having the exact same issue with mine at the moment, I'm in contact with Yale to see if they can fix it so would recommend that you do the same. In regards to you having no fault log, I find that I only have this when there is a fault live on the system. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the great review! I was thinking of buying this system and indeed did after watching your video. Still to decide where to mount the control panel though. Thinking of putting it in a a cupboard and purchasing a keypad for the main alarming and disarming of the system. Thanks again
Stuart Fergus Thanks for the lovely comment. I'm glad my video helped you choose an Alarm. Your suggestion of mounting the Control Panel in a cupboard is a good one. Thanks again.
Hi, Thank you for this excellent video! My aim is to be able to get a notification alert on my smart phone as well as the phone call. Therefore, would you be able to connect all the accessories that comes with this "telecommunicating alarm" kit to the Yale smart Hub? OR Does this kit already have that incorporated with it and its just a case of downloading the Yale app? Thanks
Tosin Adegboye Hi there, thanks for your kind comment. This Alarm and it's accessories unfortunately cannot be linked to the Yale hub, and to my knowledge it cannot generate Smartphone notifications. You can link it to a Smartphone for Arming/Disarming purposes, but this would require purchasing a Yale Smart CCTV System and a special USB 'dongle', so the cost can unfortunately rise. Although I can thoroughly recommend Yale CCTV as I have a kit myself :)
Tosin Adegboye You're welcome :). I personally use (and highly recommend) the Pyronix Enforcer Wireless Alarm system (make sure you buy the one with 'Digi-wifi', although this comes as standard from v.10 onwards). You get full Smartphone integration, and will get push and/or voice notifications in the event of an alarm. You can also set it up so that you get notifications when the system is Armed and Disarmed etc. There are various accessories you can add so it's more flexible in this regard than the Yale System. For example, you can add a wireless smoke detector and get push notifications in the event of an activation. Fantastic system all around. If I can be of any further help, please let me know :)
azpal Singh Hi there, thanks for your comment. If the Alarm is unplugged, a tamper fault will be given by the panel which depending on your settings, will be a 'beep' every 30 seconds or ao along with a warning triangle indicated on the panel, or a full alarm activation. In both instances, this would also be recorded in the fault log so you would know the cause of the problem (if you didn't already). You should be fine to put a sensor in your shed 25m away, but bear in mind that the signal may be reduced by walls and other obstacles so be sure to test signal strength manually (this is done during initial setup anyway). Also, the sensors aren't waterproof so the shed would have to be of somewhat good quality. I hope this helps you ☺️
azpal Singh Hi again. Yes you can set any sensor individually. So you can have just one sensor active, or several. You could also have several active, but only one would trigger the Alarm straight away (for example the one in the Shed) whereas the others start a countdown to give you time to disarm. You can also have different settings for different sensors on two different Alarm types - These are full set and part set. So you can have it so that whenever you press full set, all sensors trigger a full alarm, but you could instead press part set so that the same sensors wouldn't trigger the Alarm. There are many combinations, and I hope what I've explained above makes sense, but if you have any further questions just ask and I'll do my best to help you :)
Dont know if you guys gives a shit but if you guys are stoned like me atm you can watch all the latest movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Been streaming with my gf for the last couple of days :)
Hi there, thanks for the positive feedback, I'm glad my video helped you. There is no charge for the phone functionality, other than what your service provider charges to make a call. Hope this helps :)
@@FatJoeFilms thanks for the rapid reply,so for example if the alarm alerts my mobile phone then do you answer the alert as you would to any incoming call?
@@tim3isshort935 Yes, and then you have to press a number to acknowledge the call. If you don't, it proceeds to call the other numbers you have programmed in 👍
No problem! Unfortunately this system doesn't support arming/disarming via an App on your phone UNLESS you also have the Yale CCTV System. If so, you can buy a USB 'dongle' that will give you complete control of the Alarm through an App on your phone. The only other way to use the Alarm via a mobile would be to dial in in the normal way.Hope this helps, and if you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask! Finally, many thanks for your comment.
Hi Joe, Great vid... thanks. Some questions if thats ok. I bought this due to your video :) When installing the PIR sensors internally and Outside alarm box out side were the wall plugs all the same size or specific. I only ask as it doesn't say which wall plugs to use? Im also a bit nervous about this spring that needs to be depressed against the wall for the alarm box. Does the power for the control panel need to be plugged into the power at all times?
Rex_mrT C Hi there. Many thanks for your kind comment. I'm glad my video helped you when making a purchase. The Wall Plugs were specific sizes, the ones for the PIR sensors were roughly 6mm if I recall correctly with screws to fit, and the external Bellbox ones were about 10mm I think. Don't worry too much about the tamper spring on the Bellbox. Assuming it is going on a flat wall, you'll be fine. It's if it's going on the likes of 'pebble dash' it gets a bit more tricky. I found the internal tamper spring of the Bellbox much more troublesome, but play around with it you'll get there in the end! Yes the Control Panel needs a constant power source. There is a backup battery on board so if power fails your Alarm will still operate, but once this discharges that's it and you'd need to recharge it by supplying power to the Panel again. Hope this helps. Good luck :)
Thanks very much Joe. I Managed to install ok, apart from the PIR's which i'll need to try again with. Question: Do you think that securing these PIRs with super industrial double sided adhesive tape from a company like 3M ( like what comes with the door mountings) would do the trick? I chose the wrong sized drill bit and ended up drilling a larger hole...doh!, then having to use some epoxy resin to fill the holes. No big issues as it set within an hour. No big deal i guess when i try again, as i did with the the control box, start small (drill bit wise) and work your way up drilling, seeing if the Wall plug will fit each time, then screwing into position!
I'm looking into a home security kit and this has caught my eye. I was wondering what the purpose of the ethernet port has on the control panel. Is it necessary? Does it have wireless too? Thanks for the video
Hi there, many thanks for the comment :) This particular kit doesn't have an Ethernet port on it or Wireless, unfortunately. The Yale EF Kit 3 does have Wireless, however. Just search online for 'Yale Smartphone Alarm'. This Alarm has 2 'ports' on it, one is for the power cable and the other is for a telephone cable. I hope this helps and if you have any more questions, please ask :)
Thanks for clearing that up. As much as I would like to have smart phone compatibility with a security kit, this just appears to be a well rounded kit. Others smart home starter kits don't appear to have outdoor sirens, or they do with a steep price tag; A bit must for me. I'd rather give up the "smart" for functionality. One more question. The official installation videos mention frequencies and distance from devices. What's the furthest device you have from the control panel and does it have a strong signal?
I was the same - I would have preferred Smart Phone functionality, but just couldn't really afford the price tag that went with it. Another deciding factor in me not getting the Smartphone Alarm is that Yale maintains the Smartphone functionality on their own Server, which they've only guaranteed for 5 years (from some time back, now). So if after those 5 years, Yale for some reason decide they no longer wish to run the Server, you lose all of the Smartphone functionality anyway! With this Alarm, the furthest I have a sensor at the moment is approx 24m, and Signal strength is still 9. That's with drywalls. My previous House was Brick/Stone and at approximately the same distance, signal strenth was 7 - so I find the signal strength plenty strong enough :)
Wow, that's definitely turned me away from that piece of kit. Those signal strengths seem fine to me. Now to look for the cheapest retailer. Thanks again for the detailed response :)
Hi Fat Joe Films, Firstly thank you for your very informative review, it's been an excelent insight into choosing my home alarm which I'm still deciding on, although this is currently looking very favourable. As you may have guessed, I have a question..... I keep my van parked outside approx 15m from where the main panel would be sited. I would like to put a PIR in the back to add to the security of the van, I would like the upstairs of my home to be the second zone within the system, can I have a 3rd zone to include my van ? this would allow the alarm to be set when the van is not present outside. Hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance, Ian.
Hi Ian, Thank you for your kind words and I'm glad the review has been of some use to you. To the best of my knowledge, you can only have 2 'areas' with this panel, and if you're already planning on being able to arm upstairs independently of downstairs, then I'm not sure how you'd have this set up with the van also. I know there are professional systems out there, such as Orisec and Pyronix to name a few, where you could theoretically get around this problem, although due to the technology used they would create a new problem of causing a fault when the detector in the van goes out of range. Sorry I couldn't be of any further help but let me know if you have any further questions.
Brocky one Hi, thanks for your comment. Would thoroughly recommend the CCTV system. Very good picture quality, and useful feature of remotely viewing via Smartphone. It's also very easy to recover footage that you may need. My one 'gripe' would be that in my opinion, the CCTV App needs major work to it because it seems far too slow to connect to the cameras. In the end I didn't get a dongle due to getting a different Alarm system that already links to my Phone, but I'd probably say it would be worth getting if you want to control the alarm via an App.
Hi Joe, thanks for review, really useful to newcomer to this like myself. Do you mind sharing what system you ended up installing? Smartphone functionality is even more important these days imho but I wouldn't want to give up on reliability so I'm keen to hear what was your final choice
Hi Joe great review, I purchased this the other day, I just bought a key fob for it, it just will not recognise the control panel, any help would be great thanks...
Hi Andrew, many thanks for your comment. A family member had this issue; their problem was that their battery was incorrectly installed and second problem was that they weren't going fully into the 'devices' menu. Apologies if this doesn't apply to you - but go into the programming menu, go to 'devices' and press the 'tick' button on the main panel, then find 'add devices' and press the tick and follow the instructions on screen. I think you just then select what accessory you are adding, and then press the 'learn' buttons on the key fob when prompted by the panel (which on the key fob is the 'arm' button' and the panel will tell you when it was successful. If this doesn't work, the fob is likely faulty so look into returning for an exchange. I really hope this helps and you get the key fob working. If you need any more info just let me know.
Thank you Joe I did that I went into control panel did everything it found it but after that nothing, I even went into the settings and it wasn't in the setting not like my pir and door sensors which were, just baffling me, do u think it's faulty
Hi Andrew. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. If it allows you to add the key fob but then doesn't show it in the panel afterwards like the PIR's then I would say it's faulty. You could try resetting the entire system and trying again, but don't forget this will erase all of your settings. Let me know how you get on!
Hi Andrew, that's great I'm really glad you got it sorted. Many thanks for your kind words. And apologies I didn't see this reply before sending the other! Thanks again.
excellent and very comprehensive video which answers most questions. can you please demonstrate the installation and requirements to enable the alarm alert telephone call feature with its associated cost and also the remote operation feature with the app if you are in a different city or country. Many thanks
Thank you for your comment, I'm glad you found the video useful. I no longer have this Alarm to demonstrate telephone setup but it is very easy. Simply connect a Telephone Cable to the alarm, and set up the number(s) you wish it to dial in the event of an activation (you can find easy to follow instructions in the manual). The only cost would be what your telephone provider usually charges you for a phone call. Unfortunately, this Alarm isn't compatible with an App unless you also buy a Yale CCTV System, and then a 'dongle' to plug into your CCTV DVR to enable you to control the Alarm from your Smartphone. Hope this helps :)
Hi I'm trying to lengthen the entry time but it's asking you to press a symbol that's not on the panel any ideas it's a u shape with a arrow on the end of the left side. Thanks
Jayne Girling Hi, it sounds like it's asking you to press the 'back' button which if I remember is the button above the 'tick' (confirm) button. Hope this helps.
Fantastic review mate! I was thinking of getting this and you have helped me make up my mind. One question though... could I fit a sensor to my shed, do you think the control panel will pick it up? The shed will be approximately about 30 meters from the panel. Thanks again mate!
Patrick Muir Hi Patrick, thanks for your comment. According to the manual for this system, the Alarm will pick up any sensors within 30m of the control panel so in theory, you should get away with it. However, you have to take into account things such as the thickness of your walls etc. Also, make sure your shed is waterproof as I don't think the accessories for this Alarm are! Hope this helps. :)
Thanks for getting back to me so soon. I have just ordered this and I now hope to position the main unit a little closer to the shed in the hope it gets picked up by the receiver. Thanks again for a great review and also helping me with my query. ;)
Hi Joe, my yale alarm panel, the same as you show in your video shows that there is an AC Fault, and that a red light is constantly on, i have tested the AC power supply to the panel and all is fine but it still shows AC fault, as on panel as DC DC1 Low Batterey what is DC1 Many thanks Ray
Hi Ray, Thanks for your comment. If the panel is showing an AC fault but the supply is ok, then this suggests an issue with the panel itself. You should contact the retailer/manufacturer depending on the warranty etc, or if you feel particularly brave you should open up the panel and check the connection to the AC port is in tact on the PCB itself. The DC1 fault is showing the battery in one of your Door Contacts needs replacing. Just remember when opening the Alarm or changing batteries to ensure you enter into programming mode to prevent activating a tamper alarm. Hope this helps :)
Hi Joe thanks for the speedy and informative reply, yes your possibly correct! could even be a dry joint as the problem just came out of the blue, checked all Battery's but as you know they are DC every seems as it should, Thanks again Ray
Hi Joe, me again. Another question about this system. You mention you can adjust the timers for the door sensors. Is it possible to do the same with the motion sensors? Cheers
Hi again Arison, hope you're well? The timer for the motion sensors is the same for the door ones. So for example, if you have the system set to give you 20 seconds to enter the property (from opening the front door), as long as you have the motion sensors set to utilise the timer/coundown function then you would also have 20 seconds from triggering the motion sensor to disarm. However if you would prefer, you could have them to trigger instantly, or in some cases you can have them do nothing at all. Finally, you can also set them to 'chime' in certain circumstances (like when sometimes you walk into a shop). I hope I managed to explain this clear enough? I'm not great at explaining things sometimes (or so I'm told ;P) so if you're still unsure, or have any other questions, you know where I am :) Thanks for your comment.
Hi Dave, thanks for your comment. Yes the CCTV can be added to the Alarm at a later stage. You just need to purchase a 'Dongle' that plugs into the CCTV which last time I checked cost between £30-40. Hope this helps?
Hi Joe, really need your help again please. I followed your advice yesterday and managed to clear the PIR fault, tried everything with the door contact which still says low battery (tried 2 brand new ones) and also says tamper fault. Battery is in correctly, spring is fully depressed. So I decided to delete from the devices, only problem now is when I try to add it again, it says already in the system, yet it isn’t listed in my device list. I’m pulling my hair out lol, hope you can help me please
Hi Lesley, this is a strange one for sure. I'd contact the Yale support team to see what they say, as this sounds like a fault to me. They've always been very helpful whenever I've contacted them. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Let me know how you get on!
Hi, i have purchased this alarm and have tried to connect it to the Yale application. However, it asks for a panel MAC/ serial number. was wondering if you could help me?
Hi, thanks for your comment. As far as I am aware, the serial number is on the back of the main control panel. Although I'm not 100% sure this alarm links to the Yale App. Hope this helps.
I have tamper faults showing on the newly installed system. safe.co.uk where I bought it can't help and yale are always busy. I see a fault show as pir2 tamper, I have taken off the front part of the unit, the spring looks OK and I even took out the midd;e battery for 10 seconds. test button works but still shows tamper. The manual is not good. Any thoughts? Thanks Mike
Mike Parks Personally I think your PIR sensor is faulty and will need to be replaced. The PIR's only have an internal tamper spring and if this is fine then nothing else could be causing it. Thr only thing I would say is to open the sensor and press the spring in a few times incase the tiny black switch under the spring is stuck. And make sure when you put the cover back on that the spring is firmly depressed under the cover and the cover is fully screwed back on. Failing this, best reporting it as faulty to your retailer. If you have any other issues just let me know. I hope you get it sorted.
OK, I have an additional PIR which I could swap out for the ?faulty one. I need to match/pair it to the system first, I'll read up how to do that. I seemed to be able to clear what at first showed as a DC tamper fault, I clocked on the tick but I can't clear the pir fault so I'll change the unit. Next trick will be to set up the zones and partial settings. Happy days, thanks for your help.
Hi Paul, thanks for your comment :). Setting the time and date is really easy! Just enter the 'Programming menu' (the little blue symbol), scroll to and enter into 'Advanced settings', then scroll all the way to the bottom where you will see 'Date' and 'Time'. Go into these and set the values as you wish. To reset to factory settings: 1 ) Power down control panel and remove the battery. 2 ) Apply power plug while holding down the '^' key. 3 ) Release the '^' key when a tone is heard, ‘Enter Code’ will be displayed. 4 ) Enter the following key sequence: '^V^V^V^V' then the 'Tick'/'OK' button 5 ) Press the 'C'/'Back' key Hope this helps :)
Vexcon Hi, thanks for your comment. Unfortunately there is no additional internal siren available for this product (to my knowledge). This is one of the only things that annoys me about this product, as I would have liked to add at least one additional internal siren.
HI Jo - your video is very informative and helpful. Could you describe how to set 2 Zones. eg for Upstairs & Downstairs. I cant seem to get enough information form user Manual.Thnx Jonny
Jonny Thompson Hi Jonny, thanks for your kind comment. Basically, you first need to have set up your system with all sensors etc 'learned in'. Once you have done this, you need to find the "home arm set" in the programming menu. When you have selected this, go to the sensor you want to ignore (when your still in the house but alarm is set, for example at night) and press the learn button. Do this for each one you want to include. Then, when you want to use the 'part set' (for example at night), press the other lock button on the keypad (I no longer have this Alarm, but if I recall correctly it's the Amber coloured one on the main panel, and the bottom right button on the remote keypad). I hope this helps you, any more questions please just ask.
Hi, thanks for the review! My question is.. can you add door sensors to a separate zone or is it only PIRs? For example, if I want to move in and out of a door with a sensor while the part alarm is set everywhere else. Thank you, Hanna.
Yes, the panel needs to be plugged into a standard power socket (it has a rechargeable backup battery in case of mains failure), and in order to utilise the telecommunications function, it needs to be plugged into a telephone socket. A splitter and short cable is supplied with the kit.
Have you ever replaced the bell box DD batteries?? Iv replaced mine twice in 3 months. Bought from Asda , Duracell ultra and normal Duracell. Where can i buy them from which will work
The Famous Leaks I never had to replace the Bellbox batteries, and I had mine for roughly a year. Duracell batteries shouldn't be a problem... Do you have the 'comfort LED' activated or something?
Great video I had this system fitted a while ago and I now have the red triangle lit up it was initially because of a low battery which i replaced but still have the fault and can't seem to get rid of it. Any help would be appreciated.
dave stringer Hi and thanks for your comment. If the initial problem was a battery, then it's quite possible when the cover of the sensor was replaced, the tamper spring wasn't correctly engaged. I'd take the cover back off and just double check that when you replace it, the tamper spring is fully depressed and kept down with the lid. Hope this helps
Great review! I just want to ask wether the external alarm was on when you were demonatrating this or was it just the internal making the sound? Thanks.
Cool :) I got mine delivered today on your recommendations. I want to try the alarm before i stick the external bellbox on wall. I guess it wont be a problem. Thanks again.
Blu Rhayz Hi there, yes the magnet should definitely be included. It is usually smaller than the door contact itself. If you can't find it, contact your retailer or Yale. Hope this helps.
I ordered the smart EF-KIT3 but then i returned it after reading bad reviews about the app system. I called a 2 alarm fitters and they both said YALE was no good. Does anyone know if these are any good? And which obvious be better. This one our the smart wireless one. On paper they sound good but I'm not sure
housebrigade thanks for the comment. After I made this video I became a security engineer. Based on that, I would echo what the two you spoke to said. For one reason, check out this video I made: th-cam.com/video/xItfxelEXeU/w-d-xo.html It's down to personal preference which you use, but I would say that Yale do not guarantee the upkeep of their servers which basically means that down the line they may decide it's too costly for them to keep the Servers running and thus, the App functionality would be rendered useless. Based on that alone I'd probably chose the EF Kit 2. Hope this helps :)
Fat Joe Films wow, thanks for the quick response. Sorry to keep bothering you but what alarm would you recommend then? I've searched everywhere online for the best alarm kiss but haven't found any reviews from any reputable mags or websites. My budget is around £300 Thanks in advance
housebrigade Not at all, I'm glad I can be of some help! I'd definitely recommend the Pyronix Enforcer. Version 10 comes with a 'digi-wifi' module as standard which means you can fully control the Alarm from an App on your phone. I have this system and both the App and the Alarm itself are excellent. Even as a 'professional' alarm, I would say this is easy enough for the average DIYer to install. At the time of writing, you can pick up a v.10 Enforcer brand new for about £250 on a well known auction site. If you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask and I'll do my best to help :)
Fat Joe Films ok, I've done a bit of reading on it and it sounds pretty good so i reckon i will order one today. Well let u know how i get on. Really appreciate ur help mate 👍
I have one of these alarms and its fucking infuriating, I was going to wait until we move to replace it and leave it with the house but its so fucking annoying to use and live with that I will be getting rid of it as soon as possible
A good review about things delibratly made complicated to detear the budding diy/money saving enthusiast. Leant a fair bit, thanks mate.
Many thanks for your comment :)
We have installed this and very easy to complete. Had it since Jan. Great system.
I'm glad to hear you bought this Alarm and are finding it useful! Thanks for the update. Joe.
@@FatJoeFilms Thanks. 🙂
If you have any other questions, please ask an I'll do my best to help :)
Thanks again for your comment!
Great review. Not many on TH-cam. Thanks!
Hi,
Thank you for this excellent video!
My aim is to be able to get a notification alert on my smart phone as well as the phone call.
Therefore, would you be able to connect all the accessories that comes with this "telecommunicating alarm" kit to the Yale smart Hub?
OR
Does this kit already have that incorporated with it and its just a case of downloading the Yale app?
Fat Joe Films thank you for the fast reply.
Are you aware of any system which can do this?
Fat Joe Films Thanks so much for your help!
Great video What happens if the alarm is unplugged from the socket? Also can you put a motion sensor in a shed? Around 25 meter away?
azpal Singh Hi there, thanks for your comment.
I hope this helps you ☺️
Thanks for the reply I think I'm going purchase this, also can I set say only the motion sensor in the shed or any other room individual?
azpal Singh Hi again.
This is a great review, thank you for sharing. I will be purchasing this.
Hi David, thanks for your kind words. I know you won't regret buying this system!
Dont know if you guys gives a shit but if you guys are stoned like me atm you can watch all the latest movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Been streaming with my gf for the last couple of days :)
@James Bowie Yea, have been watching on InstaFlixxer for since december myself :)
Hi there and thanks for this video it's really helpful, just one question for you, does the phone alert system cost to call out?
Hi there, thanks for the positive feedback, I'm glad my video helped you. There is no charge for the phone functionality, other than what your service provider charges to make a call. Hope this helps :)
@@FatJoeFilms thanks for the rapid reply,so for example if the alarm alerts my mobile phone then do you answer the alert as you would to any incoming call?
@@tim3isshort935 Yes, and then you have to press a number to acknowledge the call. If you don't, it proceeds to call the other numbers you have programmed in 👍
@@FatJoeFilms okay Joe thanks for your reply and help God bless you
Thanks for the review. One question. Are you able to disarm the alarm via your mobile away from home?
Its possible i will have usb doongle without cctv to set alarm in app or this doongle must be inserted to cctv system
Hi Joe, Great vid... thanks. Some questions if thats ok. I bought this due to your video :)
When installing the PIR sensors internally and Outside alarm box out side were the wall plugs all the same size or specific.
Rex_mrT C Hi again sorry for the delay in replying! Yes I think that would do the trick, to be honest. If you try it, let me know how you get on :-)
I'm looking into a home security kit and this has caught my eye. I was wondering what the purpose of the ethernet port has on the control panel. Is it necessary? Does it have wireless too? Thanks for the video
Hi there, many thanks for the comment :)
This particular kit doesn't have an Ethernet port on it or Wireless, unfortunately.
No problem, thanks for taking the time to comment :) I'm glad I've helped you a little.
Hi Ian,
Thank you for your kind words and I'm glad the review has been of some use to you.
Thanks Joe for your prompt reply, in this case I will probably have the van as the second zone and just alarm the downstairs, thanks again, Ian...
Excellent review. Thanks
Thanks for your kind comment :)
Very helpful . Thanks for the info .
Keith Rose Thank you Keith, glad you found it helpful :)
NIce video, good review, all questions answered
Thanks for your kind comment, I'm really glad it helped :)
Helpful review, thank you. Whats your verdict on the camera system?Did you integrate the camera system with a dongle in the end?
Joe, I sussed it, thank you again, nice someone there to help, top guy..
Great review. Very helpful. Many thanks.
Dennis Sullivan Thanks for your feedback, I'm glad you found the review useful
Hi
I have this system but will need to have my electricity off for about 1 hour will this be ok
Hi, yes that's fine the backup battery will power it.
@@FatJoeFilms thanks
excellent and very comprehensive video which answers most questions. can you please demonstrate the installation and requirements to enable the alarm alert telephone call feature with its associated cost and also the remote operation feature with the app if you are in a different city or country.
Thanks again for a great review and also helping me with my query. ;)
You're more than welcome! Thanks for your comments and kind words :)
Hi Joe, my yale alarm panel, the same as you show in your video shows that there is an AC Fault, and that a red light is constantly on, i have tested the AC power supply to the panel and all is fine but it still shows AC fault, as on panel as DC DC1 Low Batterey what is DC1
Many thanks
Ray
Hi Ray,
Thanks for your comment.
Hi Joe thanks for the speedy and informative reply, yes your possibly correct! could even be a dry joint as the problem just came out of the blue, checked all Battery's but as you know they are DC every seems as it should,
Thanks again
Ray
Fat Joe's Dashcam Cheers for clearing that up. No, that's spot on. Thanks once again
You're more than welcome :)
very helpful review, thank you
Thanks for your kind words :)
Hi Joe, thanks for this review, can you add the cctv to the Yale EFKit 2 at a later date. Many thanks Dave
Hi Dave, thanks for your comment.
Yes the CCTV can be added to the Alarm at a later stage. You just need to purchase a 'Dongle' that plugs into the CCTV which last time I checked cost between £30-40.
Hope this helps?
Fat Joe's Dashcam Thank you very much for such a quick reply,
Hi Joe, really need your help again please.
Fat Joe Films thanks for your reply, it’s driving me crazy haha. I’ll contact Yale support. Have a great weekend 👍
@@lesleychisholm3886 Thanks, same to you :) sorry I couldn't be of more help.
I have checked it as i thought the same, but there is nothing on the back of the panel :(
Thanks, great video, very useful.
Mike Parks Thanks for your kind comment, I'm glad you found my video useful :)
Hi can you switch of the alarm over the phone or app
Mohammad Rahman Hi there, yes you can turn the Alarm off over the phone. This Alarm is not compatible with the App. Hope this helps.
hi how can you set the time and date . and reset factory settings. thanks Paul
To reset to factory settings:
1 ) Power down control panel and remove the battery.
2 ) Apply power plug while holding down the '^' key.
3 ) Release the '^' key when a tone is heard, ‘Enter Code’ will be displayed.
4 ) Enter the following key sequence:
'^V^V^V^V' then the 'Tick'/'OK' button
5 ) Press the 'C'/'Back' key
Hope this helps :)
Hi,Where can I find an internal siren for this alarm.
So the control panel is hard wired for power and it needs a phone line?
Yes, the panel needs to be plugged into a standard power socket (it has a rechargeable backup battery in case of mains failure), and in order to utilise the telecommunications function, it needs to be plugged into a telephone socket. A splitter and short cable is supplied with the kit.
Ok, looking for total wireless system
@@Tugger4me1 Not sure anything like that exists, because the rate you would be replacing the batteries would be probably weekly. Good luck!
Fat Joe Films thanks for replying, i will have a look at it when I get home.
Great review! I just want to ask wether the external alarm was on when you were demonatrating this or was it just the internal making the sound? Thanks.
Blu Rhayz Hi, thanks for your comment. The external Bellbox was also sounding when I made this video :)
Cool :) I got mine delivered today on your recommendations. I want to try the alarm before i stick the external bellbox on wall. I guess it wont be a problem. Thanks again.
Blu Rhayz I'm really glad my video was helpful to you! If you get stuck, give me a shout!
Hi Joe. I just want to ask if the magnet for the door/window contact is included in the box. I cant find it in my box?
Blu Rhayz Hi there, yes the magnet should definitely be included. It is usually smaller than the door contact itself. If you can't find it, contact your retailer or Yale. Hope this helps.
thanks jo
I ordered the smart EF-KIT3 but then i returned it after reading bad reviews about the app system. I called a 2 alarm fitters and they both said YALE was no good.
Does anyone know if these are any good? And which obvious be better. This one our the smart wireless one. On paper they sound good but I'm not sure
housebrigade thanks for the comment. After I made this video I became a security engineer. Based on that, I would echo what the two you spoke to said. For one reason, check out this video I made: th-cam.com/video/xItfxelEXeU/w-d-xo.html
It's down to personal preference which you use, but I would say that Yale do not guarantee the upkeep of their servers which basically means that down the line they may decide it's too costly for them to keep the Servers running and thus, the App functionality would be rendered useless.
My budget is around £300
Thanks in advance
housebrigade Not at all, I'm glad I can be of some help!
Really appreciate ur help mate 👍
housebrigade No problem at all, I look forward to hearing how you get on and if you have any issues, you know where I am 👍
Great video, nice to know ur code is 1234 lol i do hope u had that just for this video
I have one of these alarms and its fucking infuriating, I was going to wait until we move to replace it and leave it with the house but its so fucking annoying to use and live with that I will be getting rid of it as soon as possible
