I went with 35% last month when I had my windows done. 35% gives a very clean look about it, but I am strongly considering having them redone and going with 20% for a tad more privacy.
Thanks for this video. So clear and to the point. So many other videos like this are so long . After seeing this, I am going with 30 legal in my state and I know now it still looks good.
You could see absolutely no clouds contrasting with blue sky through the front windshield but could clearly see through the tinted portion. Great UV blocking value
I just got 35% on my front and 15% in the back. 15% is pretty light but then again I have light interior and I can see out perfectly fine with 15% in day and night.
Nice video comparing the 2, I'm from Illinois to, I like them both to me there isn't much of a difference. I think I'm gonna go 35 it's still pretty dark. It will be my luck I get pulled over for having 20% tint lol
20% going on tomorrow morning, car will probably explode before I get rid of it....but I can drive with enhanced peace as hater vibes bounce back into space lol
I love 20 but I’m worried about not being able to get an inspection sticker and night driving. I’m so torn I don’t want to spend all that money to regret it
Thanks, i had 15% on my last car and really liked it. I had no issues driving at night. This time around the place i went to didnt offer 15%, only 20% or 5%, and felt 5% was going to be too dark. Hoping i made the right choice, ill find out tomorrow.
20% on a sunny day looks like 35% on a cloudy day. With that being said, if you live in a place like San Diego with lots of sunny days I'd opt for the 20% and if you live in a place like Seattle Washington I'd opt for the 35%. 20% when it's overcast looks like 10% so it really depends on the weather where you live. If you want the perfect blend I'd go 30%. I'm in San Diego and always go 20% all the way around except for the windshield. 35% looks like 50% here in San Diego.
25% sides. 35% front and back. Perfect for me. Versatile for a lot of scenarios where i might be not all there (high or sleepy). Can handle country roads etc. etc.
I'm in Hammond just across the border from you, I can go as dark as 30. Six months ago I had them do 20 all the way around (excluding the windshield) I've never had a problem here or crossing into Illinois
Yes, the 20% tint looks better, but never want to provide that excuse for the cops to pull you over - which they legally can - if you have 20% tints on the driver windows. I'm undecided here - might go with 35% on the front and 20% in the back, or 35% all around to keep it consistent.. Good explanation
I just got 5% and it looks like this guys 20% in the video wtf lol.. I've had 5% on 2 other cars a few years ago and I just remember it being darker... The installation guys said it was 5% too after installation so they didn't fuck it up by accident. Maybe the type of film they used? I went to the same place all 3 times tho.. I unno.
They’ll ticket u then make u prove u remove the tints either at court or at the police station, I had limo al round including windshield and I got a 600$ ticket but he gave a opportunity to prove that I remove my tint at the police station n voided the ticket trust me limo not worth it. Maybe 20%
i live in ga and cant have anything higher than 32% tint. wish i could go down to 20% but i dont wanna risk it. 35% still doesn't look that bad at all its just that my car gets really hot out in the sun and my ac just doesn't blow cold air XD
im 18 and im on my second camaro ss, rn i have a 2017 camaro ss with fbo, a little spoiled but im not cocky to people haha some people r mean and some nice
Nice stang! I'm 25 in Miami and have 5% tint on the sides and 20% tint on front and back. Only got pulled once by a state tropper k9 unit and he let me go. I think he was only concerned about drugs though. They are pretty laxed in south florida because of the insane temperatures. Happy new year!
that is the perfect combo from my experience. Also in my area anything in the rear is legal, but nothing in the front is legal. Having 2 different numbers in the front and the back creates the illusion that the front is only factory tint as you can slightly see through it, but not so much in the back. I don't so much car about privacy as much as the damn sun burning my arm and face when I'm going to and from Minneapolis 9 hours on the interstate.
It's not that bad honestly! I had 18% all around and 35% on the whole windshield before it I could see perfectly fine at night. I currently had my tint redone in 10% all around, just need to get my winshield tinted...oh how I miss windshield tint! Once you get it once, you can't really live without it.
Question : In my country we can't do front but the back could be 5 VLT etc... but I'm afraid at dusk and night it will be hard to see. I'm thinking 35% to have less sun passing trough, would it be ok ?
Hey bro, I'm in Illinois as well. You think it would be a problem to get 20% in the rear & 35% on the too front side mirrors? Thoughts? I have a Chrysler 300 S
+Aaron Miller Even though it's illegal honestly I don't think you should have any problems as long as you're not causing any trouble. I haven't had any issues so far and haven't heard anyone else I know have problems with it either
CarCulture305 a, I got the back window at 5% percent and the sides at 35% . It doesn't look that bad . Got it done today. 20% on the back woulda looked better though.
What do you mean by the Suns never really out in Illinois? I don't know who told you that, but where I'm from in Illinois, the sun's out quite a bit. Especially with these 90° days we've been having.

You could see absolutely no clouds contrasting with blue sky through the front windshield but could clearly see through the tinted portion. Great UV blocking value
? You don't see UV. It's not part of the visible light spectrum. What you're seeing is simply better contrast with better camera exposure.
